Cool Bullet Lubes From Home Depot

well it's the day after thanksgiving and that makes it black friday right hopefully you all had a very nice thanksgiving this is fortune cookie 45lc coming to you from the cold lead zone yes it's cold in california and we're getting into the holiday season for sure for all of you shooters and reloaders out there who are bullet casters we got some nice little tips for you on your bullet casting from home detail so in the cast bullet fraternity there are still a lot of shooters who like to use traditional lube in their cast bullets and even our powder coated bullets can be served very well by applying some lube in the grooves so traditional lube is still in vogue so yes i just got back from home depot on black friday and uh you know when you go there late like an hour before closing time they close at nine the crowds aren't bad well let me show you what i found out there uh it's all because we have a problem with a toilet that needs to be replaced so i went to home depot and i got this thing that we need to install toilets it's called a wax ring and you can get it reinforced or you can get what's called the extra thick which is better because it reinforces and makes a better seal so i like the extra thick but i found out that you can also get the plain wax rim and look at this turns out that the wax that they use for this ring in the toilet seal is none other than beeswax and petroleum and guess what the nra formula one of the most popular bullet lubes there is is the nra formula that's 50 percent beeswax and 50 alox well this ring happens to be 50 beeswax and 50 petroleum products which is what alox is when you compare the price of this plain ring to the bullet lubes that we buy for six dollars to seven dollars a tube that's how much you get compare that with how much you get here let me show you how much wax you get there that's the whole thing so you get more product and this particular ring just the wax itself there's no other parts in here comes to a dollar seventy eight cents a piece which is a lot less than your six dollars a tube in commercial lube and this happens to be one of the best bullet lubes there is there are a lot of the cast bullet shooters from yesterday that like this you can actually buy a different variation of this for 90 cents so what a great buy is that why not just buy the new ring for 90 cents each to a dollar 78 cents each a lot better than using the six dollar commercial lubes anyway so this is a quick video on this and i went ahead and bought three extra rings to be used for the bullet lubes that i do i use a lot of this so give a close-up of this ring and you see when they make this ring what they do is they have this plastic form and they just pour the melted wax into the little mold here and then they just sell it to you and what happens is you just peel this off you see the plastic just peels off and you can just take this and cut it into the little squares and just pack it right into your sides or lubricator and the cool thing about this is if you need your lube to be a little harder and better for hot weather to just take this and mix it one third of paraffin add to this and you'll get a harder loop plus if you want a little bit more protection against leading add yourself some lee liquid add locks just melt it right into this and then pour it into your sides or lubricator how easy is that it's as easy as pie now the beauty of all this is that home depot will go ahead and deliver this right to your front door for no charge for your delivery if you go ahead and add this to your next home depot order so i got three of these but i think my next home depot order that i'm gonna have them deliver i'm gonna get six more might as well stock up so take care nice holiday season to all of you out there fortune cookie 45 llc bye for now
