[Music] [Music] [Music] this past weekend guys we are remembering about 27 years ago the events that took place otherwise known as black hawk down or operation gothic serpent and our next giveaway is in honor of that but before we start talking about the m14 service rifle that i have here in front of me let's go ahead and congratulate our winner for the nemo omen in collaboration with donut operator and premier body armor i think we've got one heck of an awesome just bundle of good stuff there so congratulations to you you're getting again the 300 win mag semi auto over here the trijicon 10 mile optic the warren bipod this thing is super cool and yes you are getting some premier body armor and a signed skateboard by the man himself donut operator how cool is that right so uh congratulations and guys let's go ahead and roll into what we've got on the table right here so this has been a project in progress for a little while now and this is a fulton armory m14 and i contacted fulton let them know that we are doing this giveaway in honor of sergeant first class randall shookhart or randy shukhart and he is part of the two-man sniper team that went in to rescue downed pilot chief one officer mike durant again during those events known as black hawk down they were on the helicopter known as super 6-2 providing sniper overwatch for already a downed helicopter super 6-1 and also later super 6'4 and uh they said hey we need to go in there and try to rescue this pilot before he gets completely overrun and killed and they requested several times him and master sergeant gary gordon with his car and they were denied deny denied i think twice and finally they got approval and permission to go ahead and go and rescue mike durant they did know that that was most likely going to be a one-way ticket for them and they both received the medal of honor for their sacrifices that day as they both did die and their acts of courage so pretty cool stuff again that type of mentality those men we honor them and i think it's just so freaking cool that they went in there and they did what they had to do to save one of their guys and uh god bless them god bless our troops rangers lead the way right i know i'm a marine myself but hey i appreciate all you soldier guys out there and the you delta force guys so simplified to you but anyway like i said we've got the fulton armory m14 here big shout out to them and a huge shout out to aimpoint as well who provided the optic i contacted aimpoint and said hey here's what i'm trying to do i want to mimic uh sergeant first class randy shukhart's m14 and they said cool in 1993 that type of optic that was being utilized wasn't actually available like in the movie black hawk down so they provided me with something as similar as to what was actually used and this is the 9000 sc 2moa red dot and they fulton armory set this m14 up complete as a dmr which is exactly what sergeant first class sughart was using this as and so again providing that overwatch from the air he liked to have that open eye relief and be able to have his full peripheral to be able to see exactly what was going on all around him so pretty i mean think about pretty good shot shooting from a helicopter with a 2moa red dot no magnification here pretty freaking sweet if you ask me this is a 22 inch match criterion barrel on this guy here and the m14 platform has been around since the late 50s 1959 i want to say is when it started its service and has been designed or was designed in the mid 50s and this actually is a controversial rifle the m14 overall because the design of it yes based off of the m1 action and everything here which was loved a lot of people believe that this was a little outdated for its time period and it's actually one of the shortest living or shortest service life rifles in the united states history however it's still in limited use today so therefore making it kind of a longer lasting service rifle you guys probably see the dmrs with the enhanced battle rifles though sage ebr chassis which are super sweet looking but anyway a lot of people think you know with the adoption of the m14 we lost out on the fal but still both great 762 battle rifles i still actually love the action of the m14 and everything sure may have been you know nothing new at this time of inception and then it was quickly phased out by the m16 but uh still overall i think these are great rifles i love shooting them a lot as you can probably tell from the opening running drills with this guy is just a lot of fun it is coming with one 20 round mag checkmate industries mag which is very nice again the aimpoint optic and what we've got all around on this guy is to the service sling here just again a standard what we call in the marines a parade sling because you know parades and stuff right but anyway you can loosen this guy up tighten it whatever type of tension you want just by undoing this clasp you can pull up on this guy here and then loosen it or tighten it whatever works for you and then you just change the clasp location so you don't have all of this extra material hanging out alright also too the triggers on these i've always liked as well and they're also just very simple firearms to take apart and use and this is a super smooth action on this guy i don't know if you guys can tell or not but fulton armory did a bang-up job on this thing fulton armory has been around for a little over 30 years now and i personally own one of the rifles excuse me my wife owns one of their rifles and it is her favorite out of our collection and uh i can totally see why they're beautiful rifles made very well and fulton armory also makes m1 carbines and one gorans ar15s ar10s and pretty much everything that you need to keep those legendary rifles you know alive and kicking all right anyway safety on this guy is just right in front of the trigger very intuitive very easy to actuate just push it forward whenever you're ready to fire push it inward whenever you don't want to fire right exact same type of setup that you see on the m1 garand okay let's go ahead and show off that trigger really quick on this guy and i'll set this down here so go ahead and start applying a little bit of trick a little bit of uh pressure and you guys will see that it's it acts pretty much like a two-stage trigger you're gonna have a little bit of take up just a little bit before you hit that wall and then applying a little bit more pressure boom there it goes nice lightweight trigger too and the reset nice and short as well that is very nice able to get some quick follow-up shots with this guy easily and one more time just to show you guys here i'm going to apply a little bit of pressure nice very nice oh yeah now the aim point too it is sitting on fulton armory's dmr riser here which is very nice it's got a real it's going to be kind of hard to show you on camera but it's got the u-cut within the picatinny so your optic has somewhere to mount onto but you can still utilize your iron sights as well so if your optic fellas you battery dies whatever it may be you can quickly transition to your iron sights fulton armory also included the cheek riser on this guy which is very nice especially for utilizing the red dot and you can also change your comb height on here so if you want to sit it a little bit lower i have mine a little bit higher mainly because we're just running with the red dot and wanted to try that out and see how i liked it and i like it a lot but you can lower this so that way it'll be easier for you to use your iron sights if that's what you prefer but turning this guy on turning it pretty much to full brightness here been running through that battery it's very easy to pick up and i feel like i've got a very comfortable cheek weld on here and then it's not so high that if i need to transition to my iron sights i can't see them so i can still see them i can still pick them up which is great magazines on these guys too are typically pretty plentiful i've got several laying around from my years of m1as and m14s and everything else and they just simply rock into place just like that there similar to an ak design uh pretty much with the paddle release right back here and then it's subtle rocking into place and it has a very audible click that allows you to know that that thing is locked into place there's no questioning it whatsoever even with a fully loaded mag you'll also notice too i've got one of the original magpul mag pools on here you'll probably see or you probably saw in the intro where i was doing mag changes and this simply just allows you to actually can you guess pull the magazine out of your pouch or whatever it is i was using the high-speed gear industries taco pouches by the way on the high-speed gear industry battle belt padded battle belt so for a lot of you guys still have questions about what type of gear i like to run we do have an entire range day setup video so go check that out but i do like my high-speed gear taco pouches mainly because i run so many different types of rifles in our videos and everything they allow me to without having to replace the pouches just to either tighten or loosen up the bungee retention that it has on it and it grabs the side of the mag doesn't go over top of it so still makes it nice and easy to grab but i like running those because they'll fit psl mags they'll fit in 14 mags ar15 ak whatever you could think of not barrett 50 cal or hti mags because for obvious reasons but pretty much any of your intermediate rifle battle rifle magazines they'll take so very happy with that and again this m14 guys it's got all the correct cartouches on it and stock markings you'll see that fulton armory's got it there with their logo and their arsenal marking and also too who uh inspected it and uh big again shout out to clint over at fulton armory we've been in contact about this project and they just did a really great job with it and they're a smaller business and they make just awesome awesome quality rifles and i'm happy to be offering this guys to you as our current giveaway so of course get your entries in at classicfirearms.com you can uh head to our website hit that top banner where you'll see me looking probably really hard at this guy and loving it because it's a beautiful rifle and i click on that top banner and it's going to take you to a web page that shows you all the different links to get your entries okay uh anyway like i said let's keep the memory of master sergeant gary gordon and sergeant first class randy shughart as you guys are checking out this video and also to getting your entries in and all of the other soldiers and rangers and delta operators that lost their lives that day on october 3rd and october 4th of uh uh 1993 when the events of black hawk down took place so again rangers lead the way semper fi guys god bless you
