this is the loop deck live and this was elgato's face when they saw the launch because the loop deck live is basically a stream deck in the middle with audio knobs on the side which is extremely useful for streamers however this was the lubedex software it was just too complicated and there were a few missing features because when loop that contacted me to ask if they could sponsor a video of me going over the new software i said hell yes because between us i was gonna make a video about it anyway now for those who don't really know what the loop deck does exactly here's a little overview loop deck the company that made this loopback live makes macro devices for creatives these devices then integrate with most creative software like photoshop lightroom final cut premiere pro etc but you can also use this for general pc use like launching programs making one button to launch five programs at once using this knob on the side to change your volume there are endless possibilities because you have the touch buttons in the middle and then the knobs on the side now the reason that this device is great for streamers is that it also integrates with twitch obs studio streamlabs obs also spotify and it basically has everything you need to control your stream while being live to change the volume of stuff and i want to show you the whole process so i'm gonna search for loop deck live here and we can go to their website there by the way i'm sorry for this activate windows here i just finished this budget streaming pc it's gonna be a video on my channel if you want to see it i built the cheapest streaming gaming pc i could so you can subscribe for that but i haven't activated windows yet let's see here i think we need to go to support okay here we see downloads loop deck software and also default profiles i'm gonna go over this later in the video for now we're gonna download the software so i will choose the latest version download for windows let's open this and i'm not really sure if it's necessary but i'm gonna plug in the loop deck before i continue the installation so let's click i agree click on install and as soon as it was finished this screen appeared here and this is the intro and as you see we got a jump in button now and when we click it we got a previous button so we can navigate through this setup with the loop deck but i'm gonna do it on the screen for now i'm just gonna click on next and then here you should choose what you're using this for and depending on what you select here your default profile will have some functions or won't have other functions so i could just enable streaming and video here but i want all the options afterwards so i'm gonna select i want to customize myself and then i'm gonna click on next i'm just gonna go through this with the loop deck because it's fun and you can skip all this because i'm gonna give you an explanation on how this loop deck works so let's continue and then here they ask if they can get your information to upgrade the program etc so then the basic loopback has been set up as you can see when i click on this button here my folders will open i can also click on this button to take a quick screenshot stuff like that basic windows functions and maybe you didn't see the previous software of them i'm gonna show a screenshot right now this new software here is so much better it looks so much more modern more intuitive you have the stuff here on the right you can drag it onto the loop deck you can easily change stuff because previously you couldn't really change the icon of something like how it looked etc on the full functions you had to make a custom macro that add a basic function to the custom macro and then change the icon it was a whole thing right now you can just click on this for example emoji then click on this icon here and then click on choose image and you can just choose whatever you want they show the loopback icons here i don't really want to use this but just for an example if i select this here boom there we go i can zoom in zoom out click on save and now as you see on the loop deck this is the new icon here this is amazing it's a function that should have been there and to me this also shows that the loopback theme is actively working to make this better there's a bunch of other stuff that people were requesting and they've added it they made the software so much more intuitive so i'm looking forward to showing you how this all works now on the top here you can see the general structure of the loop deck so on the left you select your device which is a loop deck live for us then in the middle you select your profiles you can make profiles yourself or there are presets i'm going to go over this later and then next to that you have workspaces which are separate setups of the loop deck within a specific profile now overall the loop deck is pretty complicated but once you get how it works it's not that hard to understand anymore and it gives you a lot of freedom to set up this device in a way that works for you and how you want to use it two people can have the same loop deck live but the way they use it will be completely different so let's go over how this works now again on the left we select our device and then in the middle you have system profiles and then application profiles now profiles are basically something you can switch between that will completely change the way you use the loop deck you can basically look at this like scene collections in obs you make a collection for recording you make a scene collection for streaming maybe one for 720p and one for 1080p stuff like that you can switch between them and then create a whole different setup for each well scene collection in obs and profile in the loop deck here now there is a pretty big difference between system profiles and application profiles so right now i am in a default system profile and as you can see on the right i have a bunch of options here this first step is my desktop my os this is windows this is every windows function that you can control with the loop deck and then you have navigation this is to navigate on your loop deck to go to different pages or different workspaces i'm going to go over this later you have custom actions which is custom macros that you make yourself and then here obs studio spotify streamlabs obs twitch and then this is philips hue so these are the basic integrations that streamers will use now i told you before that the loop that can be used to control spotify or davinci resolve or other creative programs and you don't see them right here and the reason for that is that those are in the application profiles so here you see a bunch of the applications that have a loop deck integration and for example when i click on photoshop here you will see that there's a whole photoshop preset but on the right you can still see os which is your desktop functions but you can see obs and streamlabs sobias and spotify but you can see photoshop and there are a bunch of options here these are all photoshop functions exporting editing things changing your brush the style etc so when you are in the photoshop profile you can add all these functions and when you switch to another profile for example adobe audition then you will see on the right that now all these functions are for adobe audition and when we go back here you can see dynamic mode is turned on right now which means that whenever you go to a program that has a loopback integration that you see right here for example when you open photoshop then the loop deck will go to the photoshop profile now when you close photoshop and you're on your desktop then the default windows system profile will be loaded now live streamers which is a target audience of this loop deck live will want to disable dynamic mode because if you're streaming you want to set up one profile that works for you that has all the controls that you want you want to switch between pages yourself but you don't want the whole interface to change when you open your game or you open explorer or something else you want to make your profile and then make sure that it doesn't switch so that's why you turn off dynamic mode when you are a streamer and as a result of that you won't use these application profiles for streaming you will want to set up a system profile now really quickly you see only a few programs here right you can click on these three dots and then you see the integrations that are installed right now but two quick things now you can click on this plus icon to add an application on your pc and then whenever that application launches the profile that you made for it will show up now second of all really important when you go here in the middle on the bottom you see find more app profiles when you click on that your browser will open and you will also see other profiles here under custom profiles for example mozilla firefox you can click on it and on the bottom you can say download windows and then here live for lubeck live and then that profile will load so when you go back to the application you can now say import profile and then under downloads you will see firefox you double click it and then it will ask which application has to launch for this profile to load so you want to select mozilla firefox here or whatever program you downloaded so now you know everything you need to know about the application profiles we can turn off dynamic mode because we're gonna set up one big profile that we wanna use everywhere and while streaming and that will be a system profile now this windows default profile is what you saw when we first launched the loop deck as you see we changed the icon here and to get an overview of your profiles or to make new ones you want to click on these dots here and then you'll see simplified profiles and normal ones now before normal profiles were the only thing you had but because some people wanted an easier way to set up the loop deck and others just didn't need all the extra functionality they also implemented simplified profiles now for both of these you can make a new one here on the right and i'll quickly show you a simplified profile and then a normal one so you want to click on these dots and then say add empty profile let's call it tutorial simplified profile and let's make the other one too so normal profiles add profile empty and then tutorial normal profile okay now there are two big differences that you should notice right now between these two types of profiles so we are in the normal complicated profile right so on the right you see workspaces here we can create a new one i'm gonna go over this later and then on the right here you see navigation to navigate between workspaces touch pages dial pages we'll go over this later so these are the things you need to notice workspaces here and a navigation page here because when we go to the other profile to a simplified one you won't have the navigation page here and you won't have the workspaces page so the way this simplified profile works is pretty straightforward you have your touch buttons in the middle then you have the dials on the side and then the bottom is to switch between pages as you see right here and switching between pages here or doing it on the loop deck itself only changes the middle so when i go to activate here activate system there we go i just added this to page 1 when i go to the home page it's another one now the thing that doesn't change here is the dial pages let's go to desktop here and then to media and then here you can see volume level and this arrow here indicates that it's a dial function so these ones are click functions and these one are turn functions now you can add click functions like volume down right here to this dial but then the only thing it will do is it will add a click action and not a turn action now as a comparison when i drag this dial function the volume level here then you will also get a click action but on top of that a turn action which is the volume level so now when you look on the right to my volume here when i turn this my volume will go up and down and when i click it my volume will get muted as you can see on the left here so now because we are in a simplified profile when you switch pages here on the bottom the middle will change but these ones on the right won't so it's pretty simple right you make a bunch of pages you set them up like you want and then you switch between them here on the bottom and then the functions you set for these dials on the right don't ever change however this is where it gets a bit complicated when we go to the other profile to the normal one let's take this one we created an empty profile now we do have the navigation page here and then the workspaces so we can still drag functions to the middle here and we can still add turn actions to these knobs for example as you see here but you will see this one here and then here too and this is to add extra pages so i can add an extra dial page just click on this dial page two add a new one three four i can add a bunch of dial pages here and then on the bottom i can add new touch pages like this let's add 4-2 and basically now we don't need the buttons on the bottom to do the same thing we could on the simplified profile only now the way you switch between these touch pages isn't clicking on the buttons on the bottom to switch between them but it's swiping on your loop deck as you see now they are all empty but there you go this is the first touch page and then when i swipe i go to the second one as you can see here in the software and the same thing counts for the dial pages i'm gonna go to page two right and now when i swipe here on the right for example to the top i go to page three page four and then page one and there we go so this is how you will work within your specific workspace you could for example change this workspace here modify it and then call it twitch by the way when you select this here assign as homework space it will be assigned to this button here and when you make new ones you will be able to set them to one two three four etc by dragging things but i'm gonna go over this later so now we have one workspace that's called twitch and then you can add a bunch of controls here you can add multiple pages of twitch controls you can have multiple pages of dial controls for twitch which you're not gonna need for this but it's possible and then you can make another workspace and then for example call this obs click on ok and now you've got a separate workspace for obs studio and then within that workspace you can also make a bunch of touch pages with obs controls a bunch of dials for your volume within obs and other stuff so as you can see now we are utilizing this page here that wasn't here on the simplified profile this is the navigation you can see workspaces touch pages dial pages and this is where it can get complicated if you were a bit confused with everything else i've been over so we made two workspaces here and then in the navigation here you can open workspaces and here you will see the two so we had our homework space which was twitch and then we made the new one obs and we can't find it anywhere yet and that's because you need to add a link to that workspace because you can link from everywhere to everywhere on this loop deck and this is where you see the complete customizability so now i want to take this obs workspace and for example i want to drag it here on the bottom so now i have a twitch workspace when i click on that we have all the pages we made here for the dial and all the pages for the touch here for our twitch with twitch controls like pudding chat in slow mode etc i'm gonna go over this later and then the second one here is obs and we didn't make any pages yet you can add a new page for some stuff so now on the loop deck i can click on this button and then swipe between my twitch controls here and here and i click on this button and then swipe between if i have multiple pages swipe between my obs controls and then you can add a bunch of workspaces here and you aren't locked to these buttons to change workspaces by the way you could just as well go to the twitch workspace here and then take the shortcut to the obs workspace and then add it here and now you can go from the twitch workspace on the loop deck here to the obs workspace by just clicking it and now you are in the obs workspace which is also right here and i can't go over all the functions of this loop deck because it's a lot you can also add shortcuts to go to the next page and the previous page all that stuff you will need to figure it out on your own and test around with how you want to use your loop deck there are two really important things i still need to show and that's how to log in on twitch spotify etc and then use all those integrations and then also something really important for streamers which i'm gonna show right now and that is how to use these dials here to control the sound on your pc now you can search for everything here in these steps and then here in the folders but you can also search on top and then we enable this you will only see the touch functions and when you only enable this here you will only see the dial function so i'm looking for a touch function and i'm looking for a mixer so i'm gonna type mix and there you go it's within the desktop actions volume mixer output and volume mixer input so i'm gonna make it in my obs profile and i'm gonna make it on the second page here so let's type a volume and then here volume mixer so i'm gonna drag volume mixer input and then volume mixer output right here and now you will see that on the loop deck on the obs page we have our input mixer and our output when i click on output then on the sides i will see all the programs that are opened on my pc and that could make sound so if my editor can position this all next to each other you will see the volume mixer and then the loop deck together on the screen and when i go to this here then i can turn the volume of my browser and you will see it changing in the volume mixer on my pc so let's say that obs here that this is my game if i want my game to be more quiet on my stream i just turn this down a bit and there we go this is extremely useful and whenever you go to this mixer page you will see an arrow on the top here that will go back to the previous one and the same thing counts for here this will change the volume of my microphone i think this is my microphone my line in when i turned it then my microphone should get more quiet let's turn it to 100 again and then on the middle you see buttons to mute something so when i click you didn't hear me this is very useful and then the next thing i want to show you is how to use all these program integrations that are specifically for streamers for example the twitch integration here on the right you will see a settings icon and you can click on it and then on the left you will see account it's a default page and then here you click on add new and then spotify twitch or philips hue so in case they add new services that you can control with the loop deck the reason you need to log in here is that your loop deck can't put your twitch chat in slow mode without being logged into your account without being connected to the twitch servers now when i choose twitch here it doesn't work yet and i think it's because i didn't log in here i installed this on a new pc so i created a new account with a random name and now when i go to the settings then to account here on the left and then add new twitch you will see that it opens in my browser and now i can log in with twitch so once you're logged in with your twitch account by the way same thing for philips hue or spotify just logging in you click on done and then now the whole twitch integration will work so here you can select your account for example tvn tutorials and then within the twitch page that we made which is this one we can now do things like for example opening chat here and then putting chat in a mode only mode or make a shortcut to clear our chat completely with one click on this button and again i think i went over this before but if you click on one of the buttons on the bottom right you can click on the icon and then you can click on choose image and then change the icon however i found the book i don't know if it works with pre-made icons but when you zoom in and then save it and then you click on it again and then you make it smaller you don't get the previous image anymore it only saves the last image as you see when i click on save and then it doesn't get you the original anymore maybe with the default ones you can click on revert yep it works but it doesn't work with custom images so i'm gonna send them an email tell them that this is happening they will fix it but for now if you get something like that just know that it's not you it's the software done a pretty cool thing i also need to show is on the top here you can go to custom and here you can make custom actions you can click on the three dots here and then choose macro and then on the bottom you will be able to create it so a great example of this is an emergency button on twitch in case someone is spamming or a group is spamming your chat you can take the clear chat here you can drag it over here the first one can be deleted so now it's clear chat and then you can put your chat in subscriber only mode you drag it over here and then you can call it like sos or something like that and now within the custom tab you have a custom action called sos you can drag it over here whenever you click this on your loop deck your twitch chat will get cleared all the text will be gone and it will be set in subonly mode it clears it and you're safe and that's something they've added with the new software is that you can copy these custom actions now so when i click here on the three dots i can click on copy so for example let me make a new normal profile empty just call it something random click on ok when i go to custom actions now in this completely new profile i don't see the ones that i made in my other one for my stream so now i can just click on the three dots and then paste and there we go our sos custom action is now also in this new profile that we made if you're bored out of your mind you can watch me build setups or you can watch me talk about cool gadgets if you enjoyed this video then please give it a like it helps a lot in the algorithm thank you so much for watching and i will see you in the next one have a nice day
