- Whoa! Whoa! - Oh, hi, friends! Look what my friend let me borrow. It's a supery-duper ultra fast rocket ship. My friend said I could play with it as long as I was... Whoa! (objects crashing) Careful. Oh, no! It's broken. - Wee! Hi, Marty. Hiya, friends! Um, Marty. What's wrong? - Shine, look. I broke my friend's toy. I'm such a bad friend. - Marty, that's not true. You are God's good friend. That's the truth. - I don't feel like that's true. I feel bad. Shine, I have a question. How can I find the truth? - Good question, Marty. Let's go on a Bible adventure to find out. - That's a good idea. Okay, let's do it. Friends, shake your hands high in the sky if you'll go with me. Woo-hoo! - Now, pretend to put on your adventure bags. - I've got mine right here. Shine, can you help me find some picture passes? - Of course. Let's take a look. - Friends, you and I will be picture pass guessers together. - Here's your first clue. This is something that makes teeny tiny things look really, really big. - Hmm. Friends, which picture pass is it? (signal ticking) You got it, friends! It's the magnifying glass. - Catch it in your adventure bag. - Shine, what's next? - This is full of pictures to see and words to read. - Friends, which one is it? (signal ticking) You are right. It's the book. I love it when my family reads books with me. Catch it in your adventure bag. - Time for the last clue. You can look in this to see your face. - Huh? Friends, which one do you think it is? (signal ticking) Great job! It's the mirror! - Catch it in your adventure bag. - Friends, count with me. 1, 2, 3. Yep, they're all here. Now, let's zip our adventure bags together. (bag zips) - [Together] Now it's time to fly! It's time to fly. - Whoa! (laughs) All right, Shine, how can a magnifying glass, a book, and a mirror help us answer the question, How can I find the truth? - I wonder if our friends have any ideas. Friends, when we're looking for answers, where should we start? (signal ticking) You got it! It's the Bible. - Great idea, friends! The Bible is God's book for you. You can trust it's right and true. - Coming home. This story is from the Book of Luke in the Bible. It's a story Jesus told to show how much God loves us. - Friends, let's watch together. - Why does Jesus spend time with people who do bad things? - [Narrator] The religious leaders wondered, so Jesus told them a story about God's love. This is how it went. A man had two sons. The younger son asked for the money he would get when the father died. Heartbroken, the father gave his younger son half of his property. The son moved to a distant country. He wasted all the money. Then a famine came and he had to feed pigs. He wished he could eat the pig's food. - My father's servants do better than this. - [Narrator] He thought. - I'll return home and admit that I have sinned against him and God. Maybe he'll make me one of his servants. - [Narrator] The son went home. While he was still far away, his father ran to him and hugged him. - I'm not worthy to be your son. - [Narrator] He told his father. - Bring my son my best robe. - [Narrator] The father told his servants. - Put a ring on his finger, roast our fattest calf. My boy was lost, and now he's found. - [Narrator] The older son was angry when he heard about the celebration. - It's not fair! - [Narrator] He complained. - I work faithfully and get nothing. He wastes your money and gets a party. - All that's mine is yours. - [Narrator] The father replied. - Your brother was dead. Now he's alive. He was lost. Now he's found. So what can we do but celebrate? - Huh, the son thought his father wouldn't forgive him for the bad choices he made, but that wasn't true. - The son asked for forgiveness and the father forgave him because he loved him. And Jesus forgives us too because he loves us. That's the truth. - Hey, I think I know the answer to the question, How can I find the truth? - Let's hear it. - I can trust Jesus. - I can trust Jesus. Way to go, Marty. - I'm gonna ask Britt, the Bible gal, if she knows more about trusting Jesus. See you later, Shine. - Bye, Marty. - Friends, follow me. (upbeat music) - Hi, Britt. - Hi Marty. Hi, friends. It's great to see you. - We're on a Bible adventure and we just found the answer to the question, how can I find the truth? - Wow. What's the answer? - Stay with me, friends. I can trust Jesus. - That's a great answer. - Yeah, but how does Jesus help us find the truth? - I bet a picture pass will help. Let's see what you've got. - Okay, here they are. - Friends, which picture pass makes teeny tiny things look really, really big? (signal ticking) - Super job, friends. It's the magnifying glass. - When you are looking for something teeny tiny, a magnifying glass helps you find it. - Whoa. Jesus is like a magnifying glass. When I'm looking for the truth, Jesus helps me find it. - Exactly. When we choose to follow Jesus, he helps us find the truth, because he is the truth. That's what it says in my favorite book, the Bible. I know a Bible verse about that. Do you wanna learn it? - You bet I do. - Friends, wiggle your ears if you're ready to learn a verse with me. - I'm wiggling my ears. Are you wiggling yours? - Listen to what Jesus says in the Bible, John 14:6, "I," that's Jesus, "am the way and the truth and the life." - Friends, say the verse with me. - John 14:6. - John 14:6. - "I," that's Jesus. - "I," that's Jesus. - Am the way. - Am the way. - And the truth. - And the truth. - And the life. - And the life. - Great job, friends. Now say the whole verse with us. - [Together] John 14:6. "I," that's Jesus, "am the way and the truth and the life." - You've got it, friends. - Thanks, Brit. That verse will help me remember that Jesus helps us find the truth because he is the truth. - We can always trust Jesus. Bye, Marty. Bye, friends. - Come on. (upbeat music) (Blinky humming) - Oh, hey, Shine. - Blinky, I think you have some crumbs on your face. - Huh? Where? - Sort of everywhere. Did you just eat something? - I don't feel any crumbs. - Trust me, I can see them. - I'm fine. I have to get to daycare. See you, Shine. - Blinky, wait! Take a look in this mirror. - Okay. Whoa. Oh, man. Where did all these crumbs come from? I had no idea. I looked like that. Thanks for helping me, Shine. - Sure thing, Blinky. You know, trusting Jesus is a lot like looking in this mirror. - Really? - That's right. If you wanna know what your face looks like, you need a mirror. And if you wanna know what your life looks like, you need Jesus. - Whoa. - Jesus sees you. He made you, and he knows you. When you trust him, he helps you find out what's true about you. - That's amazing. I wanna talk to God about that right now. Pray with me, friends. Dear God, help me to trust you, so I'll know what's true about me. In Jesus' name. Amen. Thanks again for your help, Shine. - Of course. Now you better get going. You don't wanna be late for daycare. - I forgot. (upbeat music) - Hi, friends. I'm thinking about how I broke my friend's toy. I still feel like a bad friend. But the magnifying glass reminds me that Jesus helps me find the truth, and the truth is, I'm God's good friend. And I can trust Jesus, 'cause Jesus is the truth. Hey, that reminds me of the Bible verse Britt taught us. Friends, let's say it together. John 14:6. "I," that's Jesus, "am the way and the truth and the life." Way to go! (upbeat guitar music) Giggling geckos. That whistling sounds like Mr. Music. Maybe he knows a song about finding the truth. Let's go. (Mr. Music whistling) - Oh, hey there, Marty. Hi, friends. - Hey, Mr. Music, - You look like you're on a Bible adventure. - Yep. Shine helped us find the answer to the question, How can I find the truth? - Oh, I think I know the answer. Friends, say it with me. I can trust Jesus. - You got it, but it's hard to trust Jesus sometimes. Like right now. Jesus's truth says, I'm God's good friend, but I feel like a bad friend because I broke my friend's toy. - I'm sorry, Marty. Maybe a picture pass will help. - Let's give it a try. - Friends, which picture pass is full of pictures to see and words to read. (signal ticking) - Friends, you're right. It's the book. Mr. Music, I love it when my family reads books with me. - I do too. Sometimes the stories in books are pretend, they're made up just for fun. Other times the stories are true. - Oh, like the Bible. The Bible is God's book for you. You can trust it's right and true. - The Bible is full of truth. The stories in the Bible help us learn that Jesus loves us, forgives us, helps us, and says good things about us. - That's amazing! Thanks, Mr. Music. - Happy to help, Marty. Hey, this reminds me of a song. Guess what it's called? - What? - "Truth"! - That's perfect. Can we learn it? - You bet. Friends, clap your hands together if you'd like to sing a song with me. - I'm clapping my hands. Are you clapping yours? - Okay, friends, repeat after me. - Friends, sing with me. ♪ I checked inside my shoe ♪ ♪ I checked inside my shoe ♪ ♪ But all I saw were socks ♪ ♪ But all I saw were socks ♪ ♪ I looked under my bed ♪ ♪ I looked under my bed ♪ ♪ But didn't find a lot ♪ ♪ But didn't find a lot ♪ ♪ I opened up the fridge ♪ ♪ I opened up the fridge ♪ ♪ And looked on every shelf ♪ ♪ And looked on every shelf ♪ ♪ I even checked the trash ♪ ♪ I even checked the trash ♪ ♪ But found a stinky smell ♪ ♪ But found a stinky smell ♪ ♪ But when I'm looking for the truth ♪ ♪ Oh, I know what to do ♪ ♪ I trust in Jesus ♪ ♪ To help me find the truth, la la la la ♪ ♪ I read my Bible ♪ ♪ It teaches me the truth, la la la la ♪ ♪ When I choose to follow God ♪ ♪ When I choose to follow God ♪ ♪ He helps me learn what's right ♪ ♪ He helps me learn what's right ♪ ♪ I can trust what Jesus says ♪ ♪ I can trust what Jesus says ♪ ♪ Every day and every night ♪ ♪ Every day and every night ♪ ♪ But when I'm looking for the truth ♪ ♪ Oh, I know what to do ♪ ♪ I trust in Jesus ♪ ♪ To help me find the truth, la la la la ♪ ♪ I read my Bible ♪ ♪ It teaches me the truth, la la la la ♪ ♪ I trust in Jesus ♪ ♪ To help me find the truth, la la la la ♪ ♪ I read my Bible ♪ ♪ It teaches me the truth, la la la la ♪ ♪ La la la la ♪ - Louder! ♪ La la la la ♪ ♪ La la la la ♪ - Again! ♪ La la la la la la ♪ - That was great.
