a popular release i also know that the twists and turns for this book are insane so that has me really excited so the next book is half sick of shadows by laura sebastian and lori sebastian also wrote ash princess which i really really really enjoyed it had a lot of basic fantasy tropes in that book but she wrote the heck out of them like i ate it up when i read it and it has so many tabs it is an arthurian retelling and those have really been interesting me recently so i'm excited to read this so the next book that we have is malibu rising by taylor jenkins reed and i have no idea that book of the month was including this in this month's picks which is incredible because i love love love her books i went to a taylor jenkins reads signing like a few years ago and it was the best she's like the sweetest human being ever and then the next book that we have is sky falling by mia mckenzie let's talk about the covers for this month as well like that is beautiful and then the last book pick for the month of june is another one that i'm really excited for i feel like i keep saying that but i promise you guys these book pics are so good instructions for love by nicola yoon i again love nicola yoon everything everything is literally like one of the cutest contemporary novels i have ever read and this one follows a girl who basically does not believe in love whatsoever and then she meets this guy who she decides to enter a ballroom dance competition with i love stories where the main character doesn't really believe in love or like one of the love interests don't believe in love and they kind of have to like overcome that and understand why and get to the root of it i just love it and nicola yoon just really really knows how to tell a great story so i can't wait to read this just gonna give like a little mini hotel room tour so we have you know our two little full-sized beds this mirror um ice water you know the whole shebang a closet this is the door and then this is the bathroom also i'm red now my hair is i'm right now my hair is red so for those of you who didn't know now you know okay guys so i just wanted to say really really quickly that this video is very impromptu okay it was very last minute um and i'm gonna be going book shopping in new york so that's probably what i'm gonna be vlogging oona's like punching the air right now she's like book shopping and i'm also meeting up with my really good friend becca on friday and so we're gonna hang out with her and we are going to probably go book shopping on that day because it makes like the most sense yeah let's get it out of the way so i'm gonna take you guys new york city book shopping with me and i can't wait i'm like so excited i'm literally so excited i haven't been to new york since bookcon in 2019 which was a while ago okay that's it see you guys in the next clip hi guys okay so we are currently at this really nice restaurant called nomo kitchen in soho i'm like shocked because like the pictures didn't really do it justice just saying as soon as the food comes you will be seeing firsthand the pictures you guys will eat first you guys will get to eat first if we don't like destroy our food i got mushroom tacos and she got i don't know how to pronounce it [Music] i don't know i'm sure and then we got our little sangria yummy look at this gum it is not what time is it could someone tell me almost one okay so it's almost one and guess who's with me becca she came at like 10 30 this morning and i may have been asleep but she's here now yeah she's awake now i'm awake so that's what matters after like 20 phone calls not 20 phone calls oh my god we are planning on going to the strand today it's so pretty in new york i took forever getting ready because like pictures you know and they hate me for it because they're really hungry and so am i so i'm gonna make this as short as possible i'm going to you know vlog my day in new york with becca and oona and we're all gonna have so much fun this is my outfit so i'm wearing this like necklace from anna louisa this top from zara and these pants are also from zara with converse i'm bringing my big bag because we're going book shopping and you can never be too safe yeah got bagels bagel and i'm a child so i got mac cheese mac and cheese and of course i have my soda and we got some yummy bras and look at our view like that is so pretty okay i'm gonna eat now why is it like oddly good mm-hmm i was debating getting it but it was like really good like they're safe or something mm-hmm mac and cheese bros [Music] [Music] hey guys welcome back to my channel so my name is mika august um today we're at the strand i know i look a little bit more pale guys oh my god i have before i've fallen hardcover i'm thinking about getting this but i don't know because i feel like everyone says it's bad hey this is what i'm getting at the bookstore okay oh period i love it so much thanks i need your help okay can you get that even have my phone with me um i left it on the counter it was dying like it was literally on like three percent so i was like okay you've got to charge i think it's like 10 p.m i feel like i didn't get that many clips today because it was just a long day we were walking a lot we did a lot we ate not that much which is kind of upsetting but i'm just really really really tired we dropped becca off just like 30 minutes ago at grand central station and it's kind of upsetting because i brought this book for her simon teen sent me an arc of how moon france fell in love with the universe and she really really really has been wanting to read it i was like oh like i have it so i could just bring it to you we came back to the hotel and like my bag was really heavy so we just like put it down but then she ended up not coming back but i want to show you guys what i got from the strand i also took some really really really cute pictures over on instagram so if you don't follow me you can go do that we just have like an overall cute day anyways enough talking i'm going to show you all the books i got today so the first one is this mini story it's a novel by josephine ruby and it's called daphne and velma the vanishing girl it seemed really really cute i honestly thought it was a graphic novel but i'm looking at it now and it's literally just like a mini story so the next book that i got was the mary shelley club by goldie mel debasque i'm bringing just my head i asked her did you wash your hair no i actually just wanted for a dip i was out this one just kind of seems really creepy and i think that i'm gonna really really like it so yes the last book is laura dean keeps breaking up with me and i've honestly seen this like everywhere i feel like not as much recently but before like a few years ago i saw this everywhere on booktube i was always really intrigued because the cover is just like really really pretty and like it's pink and like even the artwork on the inside this seems like it's gonna be a really fun read i don't sound excited about that at all but i promise i am so yeah those are the three books that i got from the store today and if we go to barnes noble or another bookstore at all during this trip i will definitely vlog that so i completely forgot to film an outro to this video but thank you guys so much for watching and if you watch to
