Colonizing A NEW PLANET! - Poly Universe Gameplay

hey everybody Hamlet's welcome to brand new game called poly universe this is game a bit like kingdoms and castles you know a survival kind of colony building game that is set on a polygon old planet you guys know me I like planet games and I like poly games as well bunch of different world names here you can see my seed that I'm starting with if you're wanting to get the game down below in the video description has the steam link where you can go check it out so the first thing we do is we crash land in a little ship onto the planet look at that little guys these are a little I don't know Settlers your tiny batted colonists fled a crowded and impressive homeworld is search for an ideal planet on which to start a new civilization but after years of wandering you found or you never found one now your ship malfunctioning a supply is running short you are forced to land on a remote and hostile galaxy ooh yeah wouldn't feel the last short time and almost no building materials can you make this strange new world your home yes we can all right so we got a little bit of a tutorial here zoom in and out drag with the mouse right drag with the mouse and recenter button over here recenter we did jew toriel number one we're gonna harvest someone to chop down trees and collecting some stone as well so let's do that we will gather some trees over here harvest the wood and we will also harvest the stones we'll grab those up and that looks pretty good perfect promise that at future date there will be a cool reward for surveying the planet for now though you have to settle the thrill of victory and I think there is a way if we look through all these things there is a craftable Launchpad so we can actually escape the planet we can dump things down it is still early access so there are things that might be missing from the game but there's a lot of cool stuff in it what what did I click I don't know I got a house we've got at a school we've got a hospital and a cemetery that looks great and we'll collect some stones so if these guys grab that stone we should add a stone right I think so huh they didn't they didn't do it okay let's grab a stone over here collect the stone maybe we have to collect a certain amount that's what it is hey only enough food to last a short time you should begin constructing farms and bones to produce food both catch a small amount of fish year-round the well farms can produce much more food year round but at farm crops must be planted as won't be harvestable until fall any plans that are harvested by winter will be dead kind of like kingdoms and castles mission completed yay so let's build a house now I'm gonna build a house let's just do it right in the middle here looks like we needed two triangles or polygons and while we're at it and I guess that's the only thing we need to do build enough so that no one is homeless let's do two then we'll start off building two kind of like that kind of like this game like the art style of it the that you have the feeling it's pretty cool for a little early X's in a game like this all right our house has been completed house number one anyway we'll build up a second one here finish that off and tada another mission is completed now we need to use our farms and boats to build up a store 100 food so we'll start up a farm um where can I put a farm right here that looks like a great place for a farm right outside of our houses very good we'll get rid of these guys a mission complete okay let's see we'll also need to build a boat so that would be probably under here there's the boat and there's fish right there I don't know put it right right here we'll just put the boat right there maybe we'll need a couple of them who they're destroying all the trees and the rocks and finding things a little baby a little small one there he's he's hauling things too I wonder if we need a stockpile I wonder if there is a stockpile in the game because everyone's just throwing things in the ship oh well hey there throwing wood in though in the water too that's pretty cool hey your culture building so you got the boat there is a quarry a coal mine and an iron mine see oh you have to be so far away so you can put an iron mine over here or over here whatever these things are I'm not sure so our goal is to have 30 peeps whatever up heba's population will grow so long as there's excess housing we need a four to four defense as well service buildings there's the fort ooh windmill what does that require galactic population okay Oh collective population that Oh ere we go we'll put a fort right on the corner there and that's probably gonna require a stone now how many people can fit into these looks like five so we have to have six houses huh what's that say one two two three okay different speeds let's build a couple more houses just so our population can grow a little faster so that would be five and then we one more over here huh okay maybe it was at the school I might have built the school instead whoopsies I think I did well put we'll put another house right over over right somewhere right here house will go good there your civilization needs a source of energy houses will need a consume energy in the winner to stay warm while factories workshops and mines consume energy to produce goods ok build a furnace to begin producing energy we build that out of wood I guess or coal coal must be dug out of the ground using a mind hey call it a mind it was like everyone's just kind of running around what do they what are they doing are we out of wood or something I we're out of wood let's gather some more gather the wood let's just say if they have appropriate tools building workshop I would dude I would give me the one I need the wood we need the wood to build the things and then I think it'll be fine oh wow we might have to go travel over to one of these woody Islands there we go destroy all the trees use those to build the things up very nice work hey I'm dead I'm gonna DeForest this area too you know what there is a building right Ann Arbor and build that over here we'll put that in right there I think that that makes like a tree farm I probably should have waited until I built these other things first though can I cancel it forest can I cancel a forest negative I guess they're planting planting trees yes that's what they're doing I would like these things don't know hey another house is completed very good oh that's perfect because we need it sort of we don't really need it yet ok pause them you can't pause it we'll just cancel that one and we'll cancel the school too we don't need oh you can't cancel it when it's already being built oh they did cancel it interesting so they have to recollect all this stuff very good that worked well yeah oh we're making babies like crazy no good we don't really need all of these quite yet let's cancelled this one we can't cancel the cancellation so they should make that work really soon we need this thing done we have to have the boat made so we can make more food get a thousand food all right a380 yikes hopefully that grows before winter time we'll have to get our other things before one or two where's that guy going oh we got another house he's going swimming is he stunk a little bit had to get cleaned up alright so we're moving the food around we need more wood again yikes come on get more wood more wood I guess we're gonna go over here and collect it I don't know if there's a way to make boats to travel in between or if everyone just swims over hopefully these grow up pretty quickly limit 500 sir yield this year okay we'll grab trees from over on this little planet or continent I guess it is not a planet hey we got a boat hey it's awesome looking I love it we have other things we ordered I towed this thing to be nothing we just have a random triangle over there okay and I'm wondering if people have to be close to their houses if we had to build all the houses together or if there's different places we can put them there is a storage room too and we don't have to use this so we could build that up somewhere else hold the resources so if we wanted to make an island like this into something we could build a storage room over nope can't work there yeah we'll build it like right here and then we can put in like I don't know maybe a quarry produce a stone we could also build that coal mine but I think that has to have the workshop right which is a power plant or that the furnace yeah has to have the furnace so if I did that over here and then I built an arbor like another another tree farm might be kind of cool oh but it's too close to industrial buildings uh-huh so we'd have to transport things all the way across I couldn't build it over here that's a lot less distance there's a lot of trees over here already we'll try that and now if I build another can I build that coal mine let's just see oh I can't build a coal ooh what does that mean I'm not sure we'll try it out we'll build a coal mine this will be our little industrial island well but furnace well we're coal mine will have our wood right over here all right needs wood and coal for a Ken and it makes the power there's the coal right there so I don't really need this but we can use it let's just use well we'll use wood to begin with and now I can build up like a workshop thing Observatory watch the skies predicted when threats may arrive what threats that doesn't sound fun service industrial buildings dad did I get the port built no we need energy okay we got the energy we need iron for the fort so if I made up an iron mines somewhere wait long quarry iron mine on other buildings work in this area okay we'll do that from there let's apply a coal and iron on the tiny planet over tie these resources may be inflated your old spaceship may be broken too broken to continue exploring the galaxy with a launch pad you can construct new ships and colonize additional planets nice Oh renewable resources of energy and raw materials that's awesome okay now we have the power the power is gonna build up our fort maybe this guy's trying to swim how are our houses doing wonderful okay we still have to think we're gonna have a population explosion pretty soon so let's get some houses going enough room what I built them up before and they worked what coal a trash oh we need a dump that's the cemetery place them oh we're getting to be fall time oh is this ready when a full-grown crop maturity okay I should probably increase ah only 1 pleb is available there's our Arboretum hopefully they'll do that next year whoa what was that hey what hold up here passing ship seems you've noticed your new colony is preparing a landing in a remote corner of the universe uninvited guests a rarely good company Oh No okay wow they got horns like whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa we got a battle hey can I destroy their ship this isn't good I have no idea what's happening but I think people are dying I think I'm killing him I think they're killing me Oh what did they get me down a bit hey is it cannibalism if they're not humans yes get destroyed get destroyed we did it now what do we do could we destroy their spaceship yeah it tips over I repelled a band of invading trolls well you say for the small victory be a good idea to plan ahead or there's one to be bound to me more build forts and assigning you babes to be a soldier profession oh we can assign their professions that's kind of cool I'm gonna make a graveyard up there cuz I want to okay I don't really have any other reasons besides me wanting to we don't have any steel we have a little coal got some trash can I make some trash somewhere where's the trash dump it demolish your building trash dump trash dump trash trash dump where is it that's not trash trash there's the launchpad what there it is the dump ah can't put the dump there whoa okay we can put it there can't put it up I can put a dump right there that's good please this is her little industrial island where's this guy going for real where are you going you're holding wood you're walking the long way around the planet to bring the wood to to the construction site for the cemetery okay I'll forgive you for that I still have three empty houses so we're at what 15 people halfway there to the next mission completed okay so we need we need to get people working here really quick let's know how to sign workers there and we're going to assign another one okay let's do Oh no but no one working here right now nobody works here anyway no one working here and no one working here okay does that work okay we got three people there no okay that's good especially since it's almost fully grown and we need to get everything before wintertime there they go they're harvesting up the foods should be awesome if we got a thousand out of this 400 okay 500 good everyone's hauling the food in 600 oh come on hip hit me with a thousand hit me with a thousand we got all winter boys that's not gonna make a thousand eight hundred and some shoot Wow they got it all before winter amazing it's wintertime now what happens okay we can turn people off of this give them to work on something else right away in the spring we'll have to change that good we have no trash we have plenty of energy do our houses need oh we got two more people in there very good I'm gonna go I'm gonna build another fishing boat fishing boat there we go we don't have to have it so close to land do we fishing boats completed very good 830 food hopefully these guys can catch some more fish we need we need to break that thousand mark hey our forts completed now what are they stocking it up with does that hold food hold something build a fort fort events so I told him to gather all of the wood and the stones off of this island I thought that'd be a smart idea to do just so we can keep it there oh yes it's springtime okay let's slow it down we're gonna get people working back on this no no nobody's allowed to work here right now okay let's remove one from here and one from here interesting that we can do that because we got a lot of people like we got we got a lot of people it's really strange okay and now only ones available to work there well get your planting done let's turn you off again and then we have two over here okay as soon as they get this planet will readjust that's interesting because we have so much we have so many more people that we had at the beginning but not that many more jobs or I would think okay that looks good it's ready we'll have one there and we'll put one back here and then we'll put one back on here and one there seriously I wonder if the kids can't work on things I wonder if that's what happens the children can't work on certain buildings we're getting a lot like we got three more kids there and I think we only have one building let's go from the top down yeah we only have one one more so we have seven people or a population of 23 and these people in like this house nope in this house are all ready to start having kids so the population is gonna blow up if we do things right we probably needed another field probably should have done that let's do one I don't know if it'll work right now that's not the field farm see if I can build a farming island build it right there just get all the wood out of it cuz food seems to be important what's this planet has buildings that aren't producing anything yeah I know that because I don't have any people to work here I can turn them off on this and then they should go to it yep they went to it and these kids man they got to grow up real quick see if I can get a storage building over here to storage very nice we got it so let's turn these back off for some reason we don't have to have people working on it during the day or in the summer months Oh hit that one - very good it's kind of cool like all the people swimming all over the oceans now hey I love it it's really neat looking I really wanted my people to grow up though there we go they're starting to grow up I think now we're getting more and more people that can work on things keep getting more and more in there we got two people working on the coal generator although we don't need it we have a lot of excess power so we'll just drop that back down a 1 we'll put a person on both of these just to keep them assigned to it right now and our kids should be growing up really really quickly ok we have people assigned at least one person assigned everything there we go do we have her do we have it oh we got 30 nice okay we got her 30 it means I need more houses now houses houses houses for us houses houses houses for us and I probably should get that school rolling you somewhere school good place to get our kids smart defied there we go get a couple more people we need a galactic a galactic civilization of a hundred people to unlock some of the other power sources get a lot of houses going on this looks good looks great okay the school is ready to go let's get in a hood the next thing to be a hospital come on come on oh well we're gonna have to go over here to be in the hospital make that close whoa everyone just came over and they're like hey let's make a hospital cuz we don't know what else we can do right now wow they really work hard and fast and they make babies like crazy yeah this will probably be another house island we got a lot of work happening here how many people do we have can I make more I can okay so we can make steel as well and we got a lot of Oh fired so there's steel we need to make a like a furnace to make that we have that thing oh we're actually running outta land can I make a furnace up on this thing they're a foundry a workshop too close to residential buildings okay we'll have to do it on this what where am i okay there's my okay we could do it over here maybe ah there's nothing no right there that's the foundry it's kind of disorienting having a different camera view here I should probably make some more forts too because who knows who's gonna come in from space maybe a four-ton like each island can I do a fort here let's do another fort here hey that should be good hey oh we're so close thousand food I guess what's it is fall o'clock oh it is fall o'clock slow it down let's get some more people get all this food stocked up here it is oh okay we're gonna drop these down a little bit go okay three three those aren't quite ready to go yet this food did get pulled up that's awesome nine hundred oh we're so close nine twelve these will do it we have 40 workers now 934 oh boy I don't know where the calendar is but it's totally fall o'clock right now we've built another fort but what does this thing need it needs iron to make steel huh iron oh it needs workers maybe Ernie's iron pulled to it wow we're out iron okay probably because we've built up these fortresses yeah and there's another one okay so that's what it is we need more iron Oh to them air finally okay this is all the people I want to I don't really need anymore I don't think and there's a thousand we did it we got ourselves one of those in mission completed colony is growing should have an easier time in defending ourselves now yay constructor Launchpad from the Galactic map launching a colonization
