COLD CASE Searching For Donna Mitchell Missing Since 02:11:2020

[Laughter] [Music] what's going on guys this is jake from the chaos divers we have janine here and then we have dorothy um curtis nice jason we have dive for good he's with us today he uh he actually contacted me to help him out on this case we have team waters that has uh offered their services to help them try to bring home donna mitchell and um just a quick recap on what what has happened to donna in the past year what okay so dorothy can probably start that off on february 11th she was going to go to see her boyfriend just outside about a quarter mile from our family homestead of 54 years and then the next day she was going to spend the day with our sister rosie um but apparently she didn't arrive the boyfriend didn't call us until the after five o'clock the next evening they say that she didn't show up which is highly unusual for donna donna was very conscientious she's a person of happiness she's going to do this she's going to do a certain way she's not one to change her mind especially not one to not notify somebody that hey i gotta turn around weather's too bad she would have called someone she also had the habit of not turning her cell phone on until she needed it because she paid for minutes as they went as they go yeah so that was the last my husband and i saw her at about 20 till seven that evening and that was the last week's all of her um so what we're going to do today is since the last sighting was at the liquor store correct in hartsville so that's about approximately what seven miles uh ten miles yeah about ten miles from here seven minutes from her home okay so she left her home went to the gas arrow went to the liquor store and then from there she was going that way to her boyfriend right yeah right so she would have come right through here right yeah yeah she was taking the last street in hartsville to county line road to 700 which comes all the way through here was she uh was she a creature of habit always taking the correct always taking the always taking the same route she would not have traveled gravel roads or so she had osteoporosis real bad she needed hips replaced knees replaced angles replaced driving just into this gravel parking lot would have caused her pain so she would have avoided gravel roads at all and mind you if she had any sort of health issue emergency on the way i live in between where she was going i have another cousin that lives right in between to where she's going she had two places she could have stopped and she knows that we obviously didn't not see her that night so what was the weather like that night um that weather the night i was actually down the road at south dakota high school my daughter had archery practice i was waiting for in the parking lot because it was snowing and raining intermittent after it stopped it started getting foggy out um i'm not sure if it was that night we kind of just discussed it i used to cross her all the time coming and going because we took the same road i knew where she was going i you know i live right down the road yeah um so i didn't you know it never phased me anything but that particular night and it could have been that night i don't i'm not saying that it was um i did happen to see her late at night and it was around the snowy time and i happen to mention my daughter i'm like it's kind of late for aunt donna to be traveling this way this is not you know she don't usually travel at dark too much you know um and i just thought well that was kind of strange but i knew where she was going and where i saw her at was right at the um production here at 700 south and or 700 west 700 west in this corner south of the corner um and three which is right there at the junction so that's where i have seen her at um like i said i don't want to say yes it was that night because i can't years gone by so yeah there's a lot of time that's went by but i'm almost after talking to her and knowing that she hadn't came this way in three months i'm almost certain now it was that night she was excited about coming she hadn't seen her boyfriend in three months because of weather and illness and and it is like aunt donna too if it's like aunt dorothy said if she had some sort of change in her schedule she would notify one of them she would she would call my back's starting to hurt i'm going to turn around come home our family has been through a lot within the past several years and so aunt donna has really taken on that role of i'm going to call to make sure that my family is not going to be warned so i you know for us not getting a phone call um until the following day later on that happens it's definitely not like this ever so as you guys know what we're going to be doing today is going to be working with team waters they've got the helix 10 going to be searching the waters to see if maybe donna had fallen asleep there was an accident there was something that could have happened and as of right now we don't know what has happened to her so we're going to clear these waters out to make sure that there's absolutely nothing in the waters if we do find any vehicles we're going to dive them if it doesn't fit the description of that vehicle there's no reason for us to dive in and she does not have a flower sticker on the back of her car okay now i don't know where that information came from she did not parked next to him we lived next to each other do you have anything that you want to mention on something here i mean you know i'm just really glad that we got clean waters i mean that's i was telling them before anybody can find them i'm glad we have a good i'm not even happening glad we finally got this going yes so it's i'm just happy to be here i'm happy that i can help so glad that you guys yeah we definitely appreciate all your guys's efforts so this is this is what we you know this is what we're here for we're here for you guys whatever we can do to help bryson and tammy we're all here if not bring answers on bringing her home at least we know where she's going absolutely we greatly appreciate them we got the license license plate and all that all right so we will uh other than that if you guys wanna we'll handle it from here yes um and we're going to be hitting these spots because there's a lot of spots to search yes and you know how to get a hold of one of us just in case you waters thank you guys yeah guys pete pete has been really great uh he's been really helpful um it's you know a lot of times we come into law enforcement and they're they kind of shut us down sometimes so pete has been wide open i've been communicating with him he's gone around to all these other places and you know gotten approval for us to be there so it's been it's been really great working with him so are these going to be going on the mission that we're going on correct yep yeah all right i appreciate you guys being here and hopefully we'll have some luck and get something done yeah all right thank you guys thank you [Music] so what we got here guys is the little buddy which is this is invention here it's hooked up sonar what we're gonna do is we're gonna it's an rc boat we're gonna drive it around get a scan to the ground see if there's any vehicles in here [Music] what's that what's that yeah what that is doing right now it's just like the boat like you're in a john boat scanning he's going to do a little grid pattern and then come back and he's going to put it on his computer watch the recording and see what's in there so this water's crystal yeah blue you see that yeah it's crazy they got calcium chloride in it oh copper sulfate i'm sorry copper sulfate hypersulfate in it keeps it clean yeah this would be this pond here is deep enough yeah it's definitely deep we have the ability to watch this while it's running but it takes longer to set that up than it's worth he's got it at 50 feet and 50 feet so he's covering 50 feet at a time and he'll be done in less than five minutes then we're going to put it on the computer and check it out and then we're going very efficient so uh jacob forgot his boots hey i can do it if you want me to i got boots you should he's putting the card that we searched with the rc boat in the water he's now researching and seeing if he sees anything in here nope no vehicles nope suckers eight feet deep eight foot deep not a grass no car a lot of grass no cars okay on to the next one [Music] that was almost a submarine every time i throw it in there i want to go [Laughter] very possible for donna to come through here hit this and go straight in so we're going to search this if we find anything we're going to be diving it i don't know where you are oh yeah see this is this is that's just work clothes this is how you do it yeah this is how you do it you don't you don't you you i was getting into my work okay yeah yeah i wanted to become one with the earth i did too and by the way guys team waters will keep on talking about them you know they're the experts in this and they're pioneers of this they're actually looking to try to help you know with with dennis being as uh as strong and as athletic as he is and as pretty through and most of it was you're gonna get me in the water hey you're already wet you're two-handed okay go ahead turn yours turn it don't turn it oh can we put it in there like that yes instead so if you ever wonder you can lift it up with one arm one of jacob's arms not one of bryson's arms all right divers so here's the deal we have been to a ton of places so what i'm going to be doing is die for good is going to have half of the searches on his and i want to have half the searches on my channel because if not we'd have to do two or three episodes and that's not gonna yeah yeah so we are going to split up the searches so if you would go to die for good and check his channel out and he will have an edit also with this searching so definitely check his out thanks guys checked out i got an anomaly i can't tell what it is because the imagery is so poor okay so tell tammy to switch this to 455 kilohertz yep and rescan the pond 455 kilohertz and rescan the pump okay preston's gonna let me drive yep so right now we have to actually rescan the whole pond in a different kilohertz because it's shallow because it's very shallow and the recording he sees an anomaly in there so we're going to re-rescan it to make sure i i was driving a little crooked okay this is captain chaos captain chaos i kind of like that huh yeah i didn't know if it was hanging down or not what's pretty awesome about this machine i knew where my camera man was hitting the camera sorry i was painting it across i was painting across your t-shirt oh okay so what's cool about this is guys we're about what would you say 75 y'all yeah 75 yards out and we still got good connection yeah tammy said that you it'll be uh you can drive that thing until you can't see it you can drive this thing reappear so it makes me think that's grass but that guy looks like a car though they'll open here it does both recordings going out it doesn't show up coming back so that might just be grass but it's perfectly square it doesn't look good it does look like a car so we're going back down with a big piece of metal and uh we're gonna throw it back in the water go get the boat and bring bring it get everything put up nothing nothing on the next one huh on to the next one all right guys we ended up getting another permission to search this pond right here very big possibility of the car coming off of this losing control and going into there so we're gonna get the boat ready and uh drop it in turn on all this stuff so you'll have to show me how to i don't want to screw something i don't want to oh is that all i have to do yeah so you made it chaos proof i didn't push anything and it pushed it itself had a little glitch that's my static that's my electrifying personality all right guys we're going to search this real quick and see what we can get i think we've uh cleared four now four pounds four pounds so far thirty so four pounds four hours that's perfect that's drive time too so yeah a lot of driving around all right guys we're gonna go check out the film and uh we'll see what's what's going on see if there's anything in here see how deep it is get back to you here in a second nope okay clear all right next okay all right guys so there is nothing in this pond it's clear we're gonna go search the other one clear all right go get the boat i'll see you later all right here i'll let you tammy you look at the boat i've done it before there's a lake on 700 west and that runs all the way up to 46 where she could have turned and went down that and went to 700 this away i want to look at it yeah we'll look at it okay in case she went 46 from the liquor store to this 700 we're rolling through them guys we're trying to get all these knocked out while we have some daylight so we're gonna keep on moving just try to keep up all right guys so on google earth we looked at this spot on the corner here it could have been very accessible for her to do you know go off of this and go straight but there's guard rail there and there is no possible way of a vehicle getting through all of these trees we got we got superman jacob chaos captain chaos captain chaos yeah there it is captain chaos going over here so guys what we got here is an easy access if let's just say alcohol was involved or something she lost control it was wet it was icy she could have went in here if she was at a high rate of speed so this is not another question and we're going to check it i want to say thank you for the people who let us search their ponds hope sheriff's station for helping us out okay probably i mean i could throw it in yeah but getting it out is gonna be uh all right and uh now we wait since i carried it halfway you want to carry it the rest yeah okay okay no i'll get it i'm just kidding wanna cut the chip out yeah if you want to run the chip up there uh look at this camerawoman boy i need to hire her look at this guys we're still continuing we're going to continue until we can't continue no more but uh honestly i really do think you guys need a side-by-side to be able to do this type of work on your guys's you know own on doing this like driving to the locations and stuff so well even when we do have help with it it's easier to just uh write it in there and then just throw it in and take it out because that's not that's heavy you don't look it but it's heavy i think we estimated like 60 pounds we definitely need to keep team waters like he was about to say i know we need to keep these guys going because you know they're doing great work 103 right yep 103 now so we got to keep them going we got to give them the machinery they need to operate and to continue operating he's no spring chicken anymore guys you're up most athletic as can be she's she's a trooper but it's definitely difficult to do this type of work all right guys we're gonna get the uh information here in a second nothing but trees and fish in that one how deep is it though i'm just gonna call this a heavy piece of metal yeah really expensive heavy piece of metal off in the fall hi guys in just a short little bit we'll know if she's in here not if there's any vehicles in here oh do you have insurance sir okay yeah great so right now he's on the phone with with the with the family members and yeah we're at schaefer lake right now invite him invite him to dinner so we can uh go
