All right. The project at hand
right now is doing some work to this shed. So the plan is to close this in
because the way it sits now, it's been like this for a few years. When it's snowing out or raining
and there's any wind. A lot of this stuff
may as well just be outside because the wind just blows the rain
and everything right in here. So this building,
the way this is now isn't very useful. So I did another video where I poured this concrete here
to make it a little bit bigger. Now, the plan is to pour some concrete
walls around the whole thing, will have 6 garage doors
across the front, and doors on the sides Let's get right to work on this. You don’t want me to push it? Truck driver: Its bottomed out Yeah, I can lift up on it Let me look Yeah. Truck driver: Look at the back axle here Yeah. Truck driver: That's why the best thing for you to do
is get in front of this Truck driver: and let's push it out.
I'll go up the street. you'd rather go that way? Can I push on this front though? Truck driver: Yeah I can’t push on that, it will bend Truck driver: Put your forks underneath it. This is going to bend. And that's radiator right there, Truck driver: All you have to do is push me a foot. I can push it, but.. I’ll go very easy, that bumper is delicate Truck driver: The bumper is no delicate All right. So those are concrete wall stamps. They're going to make these poured walls a lot nicer I’ll have that wall sitting on that slab. But that metal rack is in the way. All right. Day 2 here and they got a bunch of these in. So these liners,
we're trying to make corners with them because, you know,
there's a lot of corners, 20 of them and it doesn't seem to matter
how we cut it. They don't really go together to make a good corner. And then he was on the phone
with the company that sells these, and they didn't really have an answer,
which is weird. They should just make a corner piece instead of having to cut anything at all. There's 20 corners. You can't just do the front
because that won't look good Thats in a weird spot. Yeah, that's what I was curious about. Well, we could always cut more off
this side to move it away from away from that seam There shouldn't
have a cut next to a giant seam Well, right there. That is not going to work wow. Amazing. The rebar is touching the form I mean, I think that would work. Yeah, you can put that down,
I’ll wait to you put down. well, if you both get it, and it's
going to be really hard, I'll wait. Keep away is more about speed. See, that's the thing. Lacey, how are you doing girl? I know you're so old. Lacey
just celebrated her 17th birthday Look at that guy. So pretty. Yeah, he's fine. It's just slow motion because it's winter. Maybe right there. Yeah. All right. I need to dig trenches
along the whole road like this. Look how nice that look there. It looks really nice. Yeah. Down there is water running down the road. kind of got a system here where we figured out
how to make these cuts, and I fill in the gap with the spray form. But look at that. The shaped foam matches
the pattern of the stone. Fine. It's going to look good. Did Lacey just get a bath? And you were hiding from bath time? All right. Couple of days later,
I'm working on this lumber order here, and I'm just showing you
why I'm doing this, because this has been an open garage like this for years, But right now we are in a windy, rainy
situation. And, you know,
look at some of this stuff in here. I mean, since the roof is so high, a lot of the stuff that's in here,
it might as well just be outside a box all soggy. And I'm working on
some of the measurements right now, too. So I got to take off that section of roof
because if I left that on there, I'd end up having eight foot garage doors. That's too small. So if I kept that same angle, I would end up with 11 foot, four inch tall garage doors,
which I think is fine. This door is 14 feet high. All right.
That's how high the garage doors would be. I think that's fine. They had these forms stripped
in no time, I missed that happened. All right,
those guys just left, check this out. Yeah.
Look how good these look. I mean, here's the corners that were
giving us a little bit of a hard time. That looks excellent. And those guys did a good job
to look how perfectly straight this is. Like, when you look down here, you can really tell
everything is the exact same height. Exactly. Straight. That is nice. This is work for a Skid Steer now this track here. Look, we're missing this track is missing a bunch of cleats. If it moved, grease would have came out This is why I am doing this, Even if I get every leaf out, more just blow in. This thing runs good Truck driver: Do you want me to pull out from underneath? good? I don't think that end is, has to go more. We are on here. This goes all the way to me You can actually push yourself around. Just dont tip over I mean, it's almost easier than scissor lift, for some things I don't love when it’s
built that high Why is this so stuck? I guess not. Won’t be able to get it back down. Once you pull this hose this thing drops down? No, it shouldn't drop because the hose
has a hole in it now anyway This hose is leaking. Okay, That side is smaller I think that's the leak
right there, a rub through since it was a rub through
and not dry rot. I'm just going to change this hose. at least it's going down slow. Heads up There is one with a screw in it. What a difference Jon: You can’t even get it out I’m getting it Not like the nails How do you want to get down? Have you thought far? Can you slide that? Yeah, once it is up Jon: That is showing off Go back to you More more good. You're good Another reason I really want to close this in; look how everything is sweating In certain weather conditions. This is the wrong clothing for welding over head Proper welding gear now The gap is going to start getting bigger. Yeah, we got to change it Need that piece of rope again? Yeah. Go around the header with that strap. I mean this, this here needs to move. It has to move in quite a bit. So Bounce it less Keep going Keep going Stop wiggling it like that looks good right there. Measuring for these garage doors 16 foot 15/16. the let's put it where it's needs to be you're not in bouncing around a little bit here another reason I want to close this
and look at that I found this summer up here didn't see it. Bees all around me. Hard to get down off of here. Watch your back, catch this Just don’t let it hit anything hey, this lift; just make sure no fires start in the lift,
cause it's got oil in there still. This piece of wood is screwing me up here This is sharp.
Jon: I was just thinking that. I need quite a bit So do I, a lot. Yeah, me too. Bigger than 25 You in? Almost Hitting on the bottom. They wanted it mounted from the inside. I think it looks better like this. There it is What’s that? I got this car like a month ago and it's clunking
like it needs a U-joint. but they all seem tight Is that a little wet? I don't see anything wrong. Now, these usually would click
more than clunk. This car came with air springs from the factory,
but they go bad and someone put in these coils not seing anything wrong with this. All right. Pull it so tight its almost breaking. Hey, how do we know this is straight? Yeah, let me snap too Okay. We're trying to mark out these cuts
for the sofits, and the chalk line kept ended up in different spots
since it's so long. So it's such a long span. I mean, can you see it in the middle? Yeah,
I guess we can. That's awesome, dude. Yeah, I mean, that's perfect. Yeah, I think the chalk line was Its too long of a run for a chalk line Yeah, it's on it down there right? Okay, so we got to make sure
we do not move this. All right?
Go to the left.
To the right, To my right. My right, our rights should be the same Right.
Go back,Yeah. No, you're right on it Let's
just get a real good marker line on them. Yeah, Look at that. You can see those? Yeah, look at that they don't like writing upside down. Make sure you're not making invisible
marks. go to the right. Left, left, left, left. No. Right, right, right. Yeah, yeah. That's smart. All right. Turn the wheel like that Yeah, And a backup. Yeah. Let me get you more traction here. looking good. Cody, buddy, what do you have there? What did you find? Now, are you allowed to share that
with Blue, or is that just for you? Blue, do you get any of that? no. That's just for Cody. Blue, go get some of that. Yeah. Now Blue is trying to share it and Is that food? because you're eating it. I spent a bunch of time yesterday
cleaning up, so nothing was buried in the snow. Even like these mats. You know, if those got snowed
on, wouldn't even know where they were. One thing with these containers;
if you need something in the back, you got to move stuff to get it or just carry it over everything. That guy was scared to drive up
the driveway, so I got to get the stuff up here Cody and Blue that should have started The Pony motor ran out of gas I've been trying to start that to rescue the
skid steer for 2 hours. The pony motors running right now,
but the main motor just isn't starting I don't quite know why I don't. I mean,
it seems like it's getting fuel kind of. Made it now, that's good. Yeah, its not even smoking And that's a shame. This ran good last time.
I used that two years ago. I don't know what's up with it. cleaning the concrete too though. Yeah. Got it? I got one. That in your way? Lets put that up so I made my overhang a foot longer than my original engineered
plans called for. So I ran up on my engineer
and all he said is he wanted to triple up the lvl’s over these 16 foot doors. So I already did that one. Guys, calm down. all right. two revolutions
rotate door two revolutions in a direction that would send the bottom bar down
through the gates like that Two of those Yeah.
It's supposed to. Okay. All right. That's good. Unwarp it and send it down the tracks You
can tie a rope in the bottom of that. Yeah. Now the stops can go in. The stops
are an important part to go on now What step are we on? Try that It's nice now We want it to be spinning. Yeah, that's right. Now we got to send it down into the track. we're going into the track? I'm good. Yeah. All right, we're going. Okay. That works nice Trying to put these lights up super straight. Can't see the laser. I can see it. Not very well. Right to the wall. Can you see that? All right. There it is. That looks nice. I'm glad I took the time to measure that,
because that looks nice and straight. We need another one right there and there. And there. All right, Check that out. Perfectly
straight. Nice and bright in here. What do you think buddy? that is right with that stud. So I can aim at that same stud Let me see that keep away is his favorite game This one just does dots. This one does lines, this is not a plumb bob though. right there. reflective tacks. that gives me a target for my laser, which is going to shine across there. We can do this in the dark. Tired of looking at this. This almost got me this year. Steve: Power steering? It does not have it This thing has a clutch, thats how old it is 16’ doors are heavier You doing that? we got to go to you Yeah Let me know where to stop Steve: Good
Jon: Keep going I am getting conflicting commands That's a very good line Yeah, I'm good. I'm going to roll it. Roll it right there. I'm on the bracket. Down Andrew. Good height That work on there? Yeah. that feels like its doing the right thing Yeah. This is fixing it. Good, here do that. Pull it down into the track. All right. It shouldn't be wanting to do it. Shouldn't be wanting to go up or down It should just stay where it is Yeah. Yeah. I think we have the spring set right. Open it. Let me just do it, don’t help. Okay, Go ahead. Yeah, that's pretty good. That other place wanted 60 grand for doors Steve: Just to put them in? No, that was buying them too Steve: How much was this? I paid $16,000 for these Steve: Thats a little bit of profit,
don't you think? Jon: You gonna give us $34,000
a installing? lol Those were probably nicer doors. And they had openers. I kind of like them without the openers. You really don’t need them.
Jon: Openers break See if I can see this laser. That is awesome. Look at that. Look at the tacks I need, like, one of those things for telescopes. it's so much easier. My dad just brought me those windows. Lacey Well,
thank you for bringing me those windows. I'll see you later. Okay. Bye. Blue all right. Just got all four rows of lights up
is nice and bright in here. Now, you may notice that row is not on. The breaker was immediately tripping. Each one of these rows takes a thousand watts, on the 20 amp circuit. You have 2400 watts available. So technically, right now
I'm drawing like 3000. But staying on, I need
to make this building into two separate lighting circuits. Now, Cody is a licensed electrician,
so that is fine. We know how to do that. This is bugging me that this chain is like twisted. I got about an inch from the track This holds tension Roll it right down Whoa, what happened? It's. Don't roll the drum. Pull down on the door Steve: Do what? okay. Yeah. Put it down I just spent 1900 bucks at Harbor
Freight on small stuff. That's a funny receipt for Harbor Freight. I just did that. This was half price
because it was missing a few things. There is a lot of stuff in that All right, check this out. I just picked this up from the dealer.
I had them service it. So essentially what they did is
the hoses on this were dry rotted and I was kind of changing them one at time
but they were all dry rotted. So every
hose on this thing just got replaced. Everything I just paid 19 grand,
but it did kind of still make sense to put that money into this. There's a new one of these was pretty expensive
and now this one should be good to go for a long time. And they changed the wiring harness down
the whole boom, did a service to the motor, a new injectors fuel pump, That thing just got rebuilt. New stickers on the dash. You can read it. That should have came with that. To keep those controls out of the weather Safety inspector, is that on right? Yeah. This thing actually goes a lot higher
than this, but I'm up here pretty good. I mean, the drone says I'm 40 feet up, so that is as high as it goes. My dad's coming to help
put tools away this is a big garage. Yeah. How can I throw it if you will let it go? Will he let this go? He likes to play. Keep away. It just came all loose. But I got a really good deal. But then I got these holders, so Ready? that's nice. Yeah. Well,
thank you for helping me build that. And I put your sockets away here. Right. Thank you. This is the siding This is a concrete board So hopefully this lasts forever
with zero maintenance. It came pre painted, trim board
kind of same idea with this That is a concrete
product that is not wood that let a lot of light in okay that looks way cleaner. I'm just going to wait till this trim
is on because I may actually slide these this way that looks good with that glass in there. Look how much light those windows
let in here with all the lights off before it was just pitch black in here,
even when it was bright outside. So it's it's worth having a few windows
high up like that, too. Let light in. Those don't even open,
but they don't need to. Three by three. Okay. Past couple of days, these guys
put up all these soffit windows. Trimmed out the windows, The metal buckets suck That is coming out of there Okay. What are you doing? Yeah, we got some warm weather for February Jon, try not to do that Jon: Did I get the roof? Jon: Yeah, I got the roof a little bit Jon: I get you? I am sorry. Wait, wait, you're still doing it. Want to get
a piece of cardboard I can hold it. I have the shield. Yeah,
that's to look like crap. Jon: Want me to paint the whole thing black? No, well. Oh yeah.
Just paint the roof black underneath. Well it stick to that? I don't see why not, it is exterior paint. Yeah. All right. Paint the roof. Yeah. I mean, it's not going to. It's not going to flake off there, is it? Jon: Paint the roof? You already did, so That was an accident. lol Yeah, I paint it. Yeah, why not? Yeah, that looks good. Hopefully it stays looking
that way. All right.
It's raining pretty good right now. And you know, one thing
that's nice about having the big overhang. Look how dry it is in this area. I'd always much rather have big overhangs, then have gutters, because gutters to me
are nothing but issues What do you think buddy? I've been kind
of working on something else, but this is what these guys have been doing
is putting up this trim and I don’t like that We can't reach that much of this . All right.
It is $125 a ton to bring trash here. So that was just over 1,000lbs, so 67 bucks. I have it All right. I've just been walking around
picking up trash, even little stuff like that I'm not too worried about wood, but This is something Yeah, I kind of have a rule. Like, if I see a piece of garbage,
I pick it up immediately. But the ground is clean, That's nice. Start to put stuff inside. That thing should have just came with that thumb on it. It was only a few hundred bucks Makes more sense. Anyway, that way that plow was an old gray
dodge that doesn't run anymore. So that could be up there. And that's the one I use now. All right. Well, I'm going to kind of end this video
on closing in this building. So I'm happy with how this turned out. So a few minor things I want to do to it,
but For the most part, it looks like that. So some of the design here, you know,
the idea was it's all garage doors. My plan
is to use this building for storage. So some of this stuff that's sitting outside here
that shouldn't be can now be kept inside With it all doors
I won't need to have any aisles open inside of it
so things won't be blocking other things. So I am going to paint paint all this to cover these
trim nail holes This siding looks nice The cement board, hopefully that lasts forever. Definitely
happy with the stamped concrete. I think that looks wonderful. And I like how it's not a veneer
or anything that will ever fall off if it gets bumped into with a vehicle going in
or out, it won't get damaged easily, you know, plus the masonry going four feet up from the ground, you know, say some leaves built up back
here and maybe caught on fire. Somehow. It wouldn't, you know, being at the whole building is either fireproof
or fire retardant materials. It wouldn't be a danger
of setting the thing on fire fire. inside here,
there's a decent amount of space in here. I mean, they're never big enough. But this is
this will get lot of my stuff inside that shouldn't be outside. This is pretty clean in here right now. You know, I'll fill it up with stuff,
but keeping the equipment inside is real good for, you know,
when the stuff for years, it's not broken just from sitting outside, What are you guys doing? All right.
Well, this project took most of my winter. You know, we had a pretty mild winter, but this was
something I've wanted to do for years. This thing was kind of an eyesore before. Plus, the leaves
and everything would blow right inside of it,
You know, having just an open sided building like it was before
that was almost pointless. The stuff may as well been outside. So, to keep a building like this looking good,
it's important to have no garbage around it anywhere or stuff sitting outside,
you know, that really looks trashy, having this nice clean gravel everywhere
with no mud, looks, looks real nice. Even even this
this looks kind of bad here. I almost want to get rid
of these containers and, you know, they're good for storage,
but they also when you go to get something out of them,
it's annoying as anything. So want to get rid of those and maybe even I almost would like another building over there
somewhere. I'd love it
if all my stuff was kept inside because, you know,
I have a lot of stuff here. I definitely want like that tractor. That Isuzu, really
All this stuff should be inside, but super happy. This is done and I can move on. Here's the next project
I'm going to work on. All right? The next project I want to start
working on is this right here. So this is going to be my second castle. Pretty happy with this design. So going over it real quickly, it's going
be all poured concrete, doing the same stamps I just did
on the walls on the garage building, it's going to have steel roof,
a lot of glass garage inside of it, loft area. It's going to be buried on three sides. The location I'm putting this real nice views every direction,
and I'm not going to have an ugly side on this building. This is going to be a really cool
decorative building and that should last for hundreds of years. So this is going to take years
to build this. But I am really looking forward
to starting this and I'm glad I can free up some
these other projects to get started on it. All right.
Well, let's go work on something else.
