you have already servers and you want to transfer those servers to proxmox [Applause] hello and welcome to another video of proxmox once you have installed proxmox in your production environment and it's running and working fine now here is a time to transfer the physical machines to the proxmox or even if you are using any other hypervisor or any other virtual environment where you have already servers and you want to transfer those servers to proxmox so i will show you how to do that in this tutorial [Music] this is my windows 2012 server and i have various virtual machines but i want to transfer these two servers to proxmox these are the two web servers which are debian based i just want to see the system configuration first so i can use 8 gb memory is there and 256 mb is used and hard disk is also 124 gb and one 16 gb is used i will shut down this server shut down [Music] in fact you can use clonezilla to do this so first of all what i'm going to do i'm going to download clonezilla okay now clonezilla is only downloaded so first of all you are going to insert the bootable cd into existing server or existing machine which can be your physical server which can be your vmware server which can be your machine in the hyper-v server or any other virtualization platform like virtualbox or anything i will upload this clonezilla to my proxmox server also i will just simply go here iso image upload iso image select the file and here is clonezilla okay that's it so now i'll create the vm here first in proxmox you are not going to do any installation you are just going to create a blank virtual machine with a bootable clonezilla iso image and the blank virtual disk now this machine is created so i will start this machine now make sure to check the disk size in the source server and then configure the same disk size on the destination server destination is your proxmox this is my old server where i am attaching the clonezilla now if you have one physical server so you boot that physical server with clonezilla and you boot the boot the virtual machine which is in proxmox with the clone zero so i will start this hyper-v server here and with the clonezilla of course and let me see what is my boot order here so first it will boot from the cd this is fine so i'll now boot this power it on so it's booting up now and here also i shall start this debian server [Music] so let the clone zilla start here on both servers first option says that device to device to image device to device means that one hard drive to another hard drive which i don't want but i want to do the third one which is remote source remote source mean that this particular machine is going to be the remote source so i will enter this one this is the option that i am going to use for this first option it says disk to remote disk or part of disk to remote disk so i will do a disk to remote disk which means that local disk to remote disk will be cloned i will choose this particular option so it says me that which ip address do you want to use so i will use static ip which was there for this particular server [Music] now it says that choose the local disk as a source so i am choosing this particular disk which is the 136 gb this is the source select the advanced parameter so i will keep the default option it says that once it is completed so what option do you want to use so i will choose this first option which means that it it will give me alert whether i want to shut it down or no so i will choose this option and i will press ok i will enter to continue okay now waiting for the target machine to connect so and my target machine is let me just run this setup keep the default keyboard layout okay start clonezilla now it shows me remote which one which option i need to use so i will be using this as a remote destination because this is the destination server where i i want to bring so i will use dhcp here okay now it is asking me that what is the ip address of the remote server so it shows me what you want to do i want to restore so i will do the entire hard disk here i have only 150 gb which i created the partition for it shows me that source mode is 172.1.1.6 and destination device is on this computer which is sds so i will enter to continue existing data in the hard disk partition will be overwritten so we have created this fresh partition so we are sure about it so i will press yes here as you can see that it has started copying 1 gb per minute is the speed let me wait for the synchronization to complete [Music] it has completed and let me see on the destination let me do the power off here and let me continue this also and let me power this off also okay now on this hyper v i have already moved these servers to the proxmox server so i don't need to start them even if the physical server starts i will just move to the new server which i have configured already so this one in fact i had to remove the cd from here okay now cd has been removed from here i need to see if the network configuration is correct here so it should be on with this bridge vmbr0 in hardware network vmdr0 okay this is fine now let me start this server here okay as the server has already start only one setting that i have to do is i need to configure the network card now because uh the network card name is different so it is trying to start that network card which is not in fact existing so i need to change the network card name and i need to then auto start the network setting if you already know how to do it so you can skip this setup and move to the next step i will go to my interface and here the card name is eth0 so i need to change that so let me see what is the network name so i will now edit and here i will also change this to ens18 [Music] ns18 i will now check the ip link here i can link ens18 so if up ens 18 that's it and i can see that i have started getting the response from the web server it is up now everything is same here so this was the way we move physical server or a virtual server from existing platform to proxmox if you like this video please hit the like button if you want to give me
