Clearing land for a house

I'm back on that job we're so far here I've roughed in the driveway and cleared all the trees off of it and now the footings for the bridge just got poured yesterday so these forms are about ready to be stripped off it looks like someone even started it alright so the bridge that you know we'd be working on that soon - but what I'm here to do now is I'm here to start taking care of the trees on this side of the stream so it's pretty marked out but I got my young Mars over there and I'm pretty much following this string here so the roads gonna be going through here and I'm also going to start the clearing for the building site and the septic site [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] you [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right so I just finished getting the road in and this this is the build site here so it's marked out very thoroughly every tree with a orange circle on it or orange dot it has to come down and the ones with the yellow ribbons stay so the house is going to go like right in here and I'm just going to knock down every tree in here I'm going to pile all the brush right in the center that will be a burn pile and all the logs I'm going to stack off to the sides and they can go to the sawmill for some there's some few lumber trees and here are some pines and some hardwoods that are good so and then the septic area okay the septic area is down through there so you can kind of see some of those orange marks on some of those trees kind of far away so that's another clearing that's got to be done as well [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] back here today I started the clearing on the house site but now I got a this we're supposed to be putting this bridge in pretty soon you know the forms are ready to be stripped off and the beams can be set and the decking can be in place and then then I got to fill up on the sides you know fill up on each side of it because the bridge is considerably higher than the road on that side and especially on this side but what I need to do right now is there's a few trees that have to go here so all the ones that have the orange marks on them I have to take down so that one there's the yellow stripes they stay there's a couple little ones here this one here and then this one right here which this one's a little bit of a technical thing because it's leaning the way it can't go and it has it's got to go this way so I'm gonna use the skid steer and pull it with a long cable and I'm not digging out these stumps here I'm just just cutting them off low alright somebody it started [Music] all right well that's why it's a good idea to pull on the thing you're trying to pull first before you cut it or anything or dig out it because I was trying to not carry around that giant cable but this I don't know maybe this is half inch it's not strong enough so I gotta go get something stronger all right that's not gonna break you [Music] [Music] [Music] you you [Music] [Music] [Music] all right so I just finished taking all those trees down so I'm going to get all this cleaned up and clean up everything along the side of the road and then that way I can concentrate on the clearing of the building site [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right so I got the site the roads pretty good here you know the logs on the sides that's fine because uh they could be loaded onto a truck or something easily you know all the brush and all the stumps are gone so now I'm at the building site so I started clearing this last night and you know making my burn pile in the center that's gonna be a pretty nice fire when that's one expert and you know all the trees that are marked that I have to take down so you know the ones with the yellow stay and the ones with the orange paint go [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right so I just finished doing all the clearing on this building site so I got every tree down that was marked to be removed and then I straightened out all the stuff so here's all the firewood right there all the hardwood here's all the softwood right here those are some there's a few white pines and mostly hemlock and there's a lot of good sawmill stuff in there too and then a few smaller ones I think the homeowner wanted to use them as fence posts or something so they're in there as well then here is the burn pile so that's that's going to be a pretty cool fire when I do it when I burn that so I'm looking forward to doing that the skid-steer and the Yanam are excavated worked awesome so these two definitely make an excellent team for clearing you know yon mark and get all the stumps out and the trees over I mean really you could have done the whole job on the yawn Mar but the skid-steer is just so much faster because you can pick up like multiple logs at the same time you can comb the you know all the brush out of the ground you can pick up rocks and then the thing travels like you know probably four times the speed another cool thing I found here was all these rocks so I need these actually for the bridge on the sides of the bridge I got to build up the you know that bridge is so high I need to build up the ground around it so these boulders will be excellent for retaining walls so that was great and here is all the logs that are going to be used for the bridge deck so these are all like Oaks and they're all cut to 17-foot so I'll use the skid steer to drag these out of here and while I'm doing that I'll use this I'll carry rocks with me too so I'm caring you know really efficient and then on my way back every time all there's still some stuff along the sides of this road mostly just logs and stuff and a little bit of brush so every trip back I'll carry I'll carry something else with me so so this would be very efficient so so the next hopefully the next video on this site is the finishing the bridge but you know that that takes time still too and then I'm supposed to clear for the septic site too but that that's over there but that's not that much stuff there's only a few trees over there so I may just if I'm doing the septic here I think I have and we haven't really talked about it though I'll just maybe put that on that video and the dragging the logs out and rocks out I will just put that in the bridge video [Music] [Music] [Music]
