[Music] hey what's going on guys and welcome to the video today's vehicle is an absolutely disgusting 2008 pontiac g5 that is right up there with one of the dirtiest cars that i've ever seen so let's have a quick look around the vehicle okay so with it still being winter up here in canada there's a healthy amount of ice and snow all over the car from a blizzard we had a few days ago but besides that and the wheels and tires are pretty filthy too although the real story here is the state of this interior as i have never seen anything like this nasty doesn't seem like a strong enough word as the entire car has become a dumpster from all the garbage to the disgusting cup holders and the writing on the dash the level of filth in here is off the charts and there's even a few really interesting items i find in here later in the video but just before we dive into this absolutely epic detail take a second and make sure you're subscribed to the channel so you don't miss out on any future videos like this i post a new one every week so make sure you've got the bell on so you get notified when they go live all right well i definitely have my work cut out for me on this one i'm looking forward to seeing just how good i can get this g5 looking so as always guys sit back relax and enjoy the transformation [Music] all right so just before i get started here i'm going ahead and running my ozone machine to knock down some of the smoke smell in here and then while i work on the exterior for a few hours the ozone will have time to dissipate and starting on the pre-wash rinse here and i figured i'd give you some background on the vehicle so when the owner dropped it off she was telling me that she recently bought this card dirt cheap for 400 but also that it's her first car so she brought it to me to hopefully undo everything you saw in the opening and make sure you stick around until the end of the video to see just how incredible the car looks when i'm done now unfortunately i wasn't able to get the owner's reaction on this one that she was a little bit camera shy but i can tell you that she was absolutely thrilled with the results [Music] so [Music] so luckily for me here this car doesn't have carpeted wheel well liners so it only takes a few seconds to get all the dirt and slush sprayed out and if you notice the steel wheels here well those are a really common thing to use in northern climates over the winter as most people will have their winter tires mounted on them so it's easier to swap and saves the wear and tear on the nicer summer ribs [Music] [Music] okay so with the car rinsed off now i'll move to the wheels and with some wheel and tire cleaner sprayed on i'll use my detail geek wheel and tire brushes to agitate and get them nice and clean both of which you can get at detailgeekautocare.com and not something i've mentioned too often but when cleaning tires if the cleaner turns brown when you agitate it means that they aren't quite clean yet so i always repeat this process at least once although sometimes it takes two or three times until the cleaner turns white and that's when you know they're clean [Music] that is full [Music] so [Music] [Music] okay so with the car covered in nice thick foam here i'll go around with my detail geek boar's hair detail brush and if you've ever wondered why i do this step it's simply to give myself the opportunity to go around the whole vehicle and use this brush in all the tight areas like around all the trim side mirrors behind the gas door basically anywhere my wash mitt would [Music] miss [Music] oh [Music] [Music] [Music] okay with the car washed and dried now i'll quickly back it out of the garage so i can get the floor cleaned up and if you've ever wanted to see this done after a super muddy detail well the full garage and drain pit cleanup videos are over on the second channel the detail geek 2 so make sure you guys check those out [Music] all right so getting started on this interior and obviously the first step here is to quickly remove the seats after disconnecting the battery and having a quick look at what i'm dealing with and it's really not good so i'm also going to dismantle the entire center console and get that out of there because there is no way i could clean some of those pieces with them inside the car and then next up is to start removing the massive amount of garbage from the car and since none of this is the owner's mess most of it is going straight in the garbage although i did keep a few items of value and set those aside for her and ever since the girls muddy truck video from a little over a year ago i've been wondering when i would find items of a more sensitive nature again and this car sure didn't disappoint on that front so the lacy panties here and a few of the other items you might have seen already are starting to paint a picture of the previous owner of this car but honestly i'm glad i had the foresight here to take a quick peek at what was on the floor of this car as this is exactly the type of vehicle you would expect to find needles in so i'll very carefully get those disposed of and after seeing that there is no way i'm taking any chances now and i'm just grabbing the dustpan here to deal with the rest of the [Music] garbage [Music] so [Music] okay so after finding one more needle hiding down in the back of the trunk i'll go ahead and toss the entire bag full of garbage pulled from this car quickly get the back seat removed the vacuum plugged in and get to work sucking up more of the filth from this [Music] car [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] now in the back here where all the snow and ice is i just grabbed a screwdriver i had laying around and basically scraped what i could off the carpet but as you can see there's a bunch of broken glass mixed in with it so obviously at one point this winter the passenger window was broken and it snowed inside the vehicle so that's likely not something i'll ever see again [Music] you [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] now of course this is the vehicle that keeps on giving so having missed this earlier as it was tucked under the gas pedal i'll quickly dispose of it and you guys can probably already tell but these carpets are in really rough shape so i'm definitely looking forward to extracting them in a little bit [Music] [Applause] [Music] hey [Music] now as i work my way around all the trim with my detail geek detail brushes i'm using the boar's hair for most of the job as its bristles are stiff enough to be able to dig out some of the dirt and dust from the crevices but then for any sensitive plastics that are more prone to scratching i'll switch over to the ultra soft brush and basically the reason i do this step at all is so that it makes steaming everything later on easier and things won't be nearly as messy [Music] [Music] um okay all right it's finally time to get to work on these dirty seats and carpet and because these are so bad i'm going to be using my medium green drill brush exclusively today as i know i'm going to need the extra agitation these offer and if you're wondering where you can find these drill brushes or the soft white ones well they're available on my website at detailgeekautocare.com where worldwide shipping is available so feel free to give those a look and making the first few passes with the extractor here and it's sure nice to see all that dirt getting sucked out but being a perfectionist i wasn't quite happy with the results yet so i will go ahead and repeat the entire process and then for any lingering spots i'll hit them with the steamer a little bit later on [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] is [Music] starting on the back seat now and for those of you who are wondering because i see this question all the time the carpet solution i'm using here is chemical guys lightning fast which i dilute about 20 to 1 and then after agitating i'll get to work on extracting with the bissell making sure to go over each section from at least two directions so i can be sure the seat is as clean as [Music] possible [Music] [Music] oh [Music] i need you more [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] okay moving inside to the carpets now and because i know these carpets are super nasty and full of all kinds of gross substances i'm using a liberal amount of solution here and i'm making sure to agitate really well before starting on extracting and for any of you out there who have a vehicle with dirty carpets or seats and you want to tackle it yourselves the combo i use of chemical guys lightning fast my detail geek drill brushes and then the bissell spot clean professional to extract works incredibly well so i would highly recommend all of them especially the bissell if you guys are curious i've got the links to them down in the description along with nearly every other product and tool that i use [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] now in this rear section of carpet here the colors the bissell was sucking out was pretty gross so like most of the other areas in this car i repeated the process to be sure i could get it as clean as possible and if you've ever wondered how long it takes for the carpets and seats to dry well it's usually only a few hours as i've got the heat on in my garage and the vehicle doors open while i'm working [Music] [Music] [Music] here's the nearly two pails full of disgusting nasty and smelly water pulled from this car along with a nice layer of sludge at the bottom and this is definitely the smelliest water pour that i've ever had gross [Music] [Music] now for this disgusting gear shifter that's covered in caked on cigarette ash the steamer is the only way to get that loosened up but once i started it was clear that most of the surrounding plastic had been burned and melted from years of using it as an ashtray so while it would be clean when i'm done it's unfortunately not going to look new [Music] again [Music] [Music] [Music] all right so for the pieces of console i removed from the car earlier you'll quickly see why they needed to come out as there was so much crud and caked on ash on them that using the steamer on them inside the car would have created an even bigger mess so this way i can basically just blast it all off and then rinse them clean [Music] i've afterwards [Music] i [Music] [Music] [Music] moving back inside now and not surprisingly this headliner was full of stains too so this is another area where using the steamer is incredibly useful however i will caution that you need to be careful using it here as you don't want to overheat or saturate the headliner which can actually cause the glue behind it to let go but if you move fast and don't attack it too aggressively it can again quickly take care of any sort of stains there too so for anyone in the market for one the link to the mcculloch mc1375 steamer i use is in the description for you and it's a tool i would highly recommend as it's very well priced and extremely versatile unit [Music] here's a quick before and after of the carpet and after extracting and steaming it honestly looks like a different [Music] vehicle [Music] all right with three or three applied to the interior now i'll move back outside and get some sealant applied to this paint to boost the depth and gloss and keep it protected for about six months [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] now if you've ever struggled with streaks on your windows the answer to that is a waffle weave towel and because i was curious i grabbed a new towel for the inside of the windshield here so i could see just how dirty it was given that a lot of smoking has taken place inside the car and honestly i expected it to be far worse but either way it's still pretty gross [Music] ah [Music] oh [Music] so [Music] so [Music] hmm [Music] hmm all right guys and 13 hours later and the g5 looks absolutely incredible it's been rescued from the brink of disaster now if you guys enjoyed this video make sure you hit the thumbs up button subscribe to the channel if you haven't yet enjoy the guitar intro and i'll see you guys in the next one [Music] [Applause] do [Music] down
