through all generations you have established the earth and it endures accept lord the willing praise of my mouth amen the word of god for the people of god amen good morning christ missionary wherever you are gathered whether it's in this house or in your own house the lord is present this morning at our century moment time we want to remember the scripture that says i will bless the lord at all times his praise shall continually be in my mouth we want to remember this morning roberta granderson katron darlene and charles griggs as they go through bereavement let's lift them up in prayer in the hospital this morning we have mother c anderson and mother charlie may carol let's remember them in prayer as the lord ministers to them and as we minister to them in prayer let's also remember those who have recently been released from the hospital hospital betty sutton beverly washington and let's also remember in prayer deanna stuckey and joel robinson and family wherever you are let's reach out and touch those around us or if we are alone let's reach out and touch the holy spirit because we are never alone when we have the lord in our life oh god we thank you today we thank you for how you blessed us and kept us lord through these trying times through pandemic and through times of protesting and injustice lord you have been our friend we thank you lord because you let us communicate with you lord you let us be your friend oh god we thank you lord for salvation and for jesus oh god who has been our friend we thank the lord because when we needed companionship you were right there you said you would never leave us nor forsake us o lord and we thank you that you are as good as your ward your word thank you lord for performing your word in our lives oh god thank you for being there for us oh god thank you lord for meeting every need in our life thank you lord for meeting needs that we never even asked for we thank you god because you saw what we needed and you were there oh god thank you lord for being our providence and providing for us for being our companion and walking beside us o lord for keeping our mind lord when we wanted to go crazy for giving us strength lord when we were exhausted and tired oh god thank you lord for being a mind regulator as the old people say lord we live long enough to understand and we thank you o lord thank you for keeping our family members oh god thank you for keeping us through bereavement and through death oh god thank you for keeping us and healing our bodies oh god even when we didn't know when something was wrong you've been good to us oh god and we thank you oh god i just thank you because you've been good to me you're not just to me but to all of us oh god even when we walk past someone that had something and when we touched something that had something oh god you just been good through this pandemic you brought us you kept us you supplied us with everything that we needed oh god and you've been good we can say today as we look back over the record oh god that we don't know how we made it but we know it was you and so lord we ask you today to be with our our speaker today be with bishop thomas oh god touch him lord help him to bring a word that would change our life oh god touch him as he praise the o god and as he studied oh lord bring that word forth oh god we need to hear from you touch our pastor lord in a mighty way we thank you lord for giving us pastor gina stewart oh god one who didn't falter even through the pandemic oh god thank you for preparing her for this time thank you for her future oh god thank you for her family oh lord we just give you thanks today lord we don't know how to say it lord but you know what's in our heart and we just give you all praise o god we thank you for this time for everyone oh god who has gathered in this place over all of those who continue to praise you and to be faithful to you through this pandemic thank you for covering oh god we years and we give god praise for him i know he wishes he could be here to hear all of these platitudes and all of this flourishing that i'm doing today he is on vacation but i'm sure he's probably watching if he's not watching he'll get the word but come on help me celebrate and thank god for our logistical genius director adrian stitt who is a blessing to us we also want to thank god for joanne parker i'm not sure when joanne's birthday is facebook said it was today we have her in the system for may 18th so just in case it's today and it wasn't the 18th we're gonna say happy birthday to you again joanne because you are such a faithful volunteer and we love you and we appreciate you and call the office and let us know what your birthday really is because we have two different ones i think facebook might be right though so we thank god for her she's one of our front line volunteers and a great blessing to this church a member at this church more than 40 years we grew up in this church together and she has been a faithful committed member and a wonderful generous heart and entrepreneur and we give god thanks for joining can you help me bless god for her on today i want to congratulate reverend deborah flagg pamela armor and roberta grandison katron they shut down facebook yesterday they were among the musical sounds of women honorees who were honored on yesterday and i think we just ought to take a moment and just blow up our chat and thank god for all three of these women because they are a blessing to our congregation will you help me thank god for roberta grandison catron for administer deborah flagg and for pamela armour we couldn't do it without these women come on let's thank god for them and celebrate them on today we are always pleased when others recognize the gifts that we have at our church and we are always grateful when others take the time to honor them and so we thank god for talisa franklin for her vision to be a blessing to others and to encourage others and along those lines let me mention that i we have made a decision to cancel to cancel the 60 35 to 3025 celebration the legends gala out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our intended guests the legends ball 2.0 has been canceled until a more appropriate season trust me we will throw a party and celebrate but we want to have it when all of us can be there and we can party without being scared we're gonna get sick hey man and so if you have purchased the ticket we want to do the right thing and refund you your money and so the information is on the journal to document this milestone and to honor the hidden figures that i wanted to uh recognize during the celebration but the physical event has been canceled and we pray that the day will come real soon that we can gather in space without inhibition amen today we will culminate our birthday celebration with a drive-by there will be food and music and gifts for volunteers teachers and nurses in honor of volunteer appreciation week teacher appreciation week and nurses appreciation week but i also want to take a moment and thank one of our major volunteers who is also a staff member who we wouldn't have the outreach that we have at our church where not for her leadership i'm gonna ask deacon director stanita gaddy if she will come to the stage for just a moment so that we can take a moment she's always in the background but i want y'all to see who feeds us when we're hungry who makes sure that the boxes are set up every week every week the boxes are put together every week the boxes are prepared every week the hungry are fair every week i come in my office and breakfast is served every week stanita come on put your hands together and give god praise for deacon director stenita gaddy stenita i i just want to take a minute and thank you because you are such a blessing and you don't you don't even you don't even say anything you know you just do what you do you you do it you just do what you do you don't make any fuss and you're always thinking about us you have food for flag with her name on it you have breakfast for me you got all of us for you bake cakes for billy he leaves out of here with pans of cakes and we just want you to know how this gift is just a small token of our appreciation and esteem for you we can't pay you you're such a blessing i'm so glad the lord that's out that's our private joke i'm so glad the lord saved you and the lord she knows why i say that and that god led you here some what 15 16 years ago has it been let alone 14. i knew it was somewhere in there with you just such a blessing and we just want to be a blessing to you i love you and we thank god for you and all of y'all this is stanita this is the one the reason community to provide vaccines flu vaccines and covet vaccines to provide covet testing to give food every week it's because you give to this ministry generously and liberally that we're able to be a you to invest in this ministry i may be biased but i know i'm right this is good ground because we don't just believe in taking care of the people on the inside we take care of folk on the outside and give you proper credit when we send out our contribution statements which we send out each quarter i do want to pause for a moment and acknowledge that the anniversary of the tulsa oklahoma massacre will be observed on tomorrow may 31st will mark the 100th anniversary of the tulsa massacre many people have not heard of black wall street the community of greenwood in tulsa oklahoma that held so much promise until a tragedy wiped it out from existence 100 years ago on monday may 31st 1921 an armed mob organized and mobilized by white supremacists killed an estimated 300 black men women and children and left thousands destitute and homeless snuffing the light of progress the anniversary of the tulsa massacre is one of the reasons i feel that i need to provide some context to why we are seeing the banning of critical race theory by so many states including our own it is an intentional erasure of black history and an intentional erasure of history from the american narrative what is critical race theory it is an academic framework centered on the idea that racism is systemic and not just demonstrated by individual people with prejudices it holds that racial inequality is woven into legal systems institutions and negatively affects people of color in their schools in doctors offices in the criminal justice system in education and in various institutions it is incorporated it is institutionalized and it is one of the reasons why there is a systematic effort to undermine the teaching of this theory even though it is over 30 years old we see that it is it is gaining traction and as black folk black people we need to understand why there is this intentional effort so i felt that i needed to at least pause today and acknowledge the 100 year massacre because i was grown before i heard about tulsa and we don't want our children to grow up not knowing our history amen and so we want to just make sure that you're aware of that when you hear critical race theory when you hear about these laws that are being enacted along with voter suppression laws this morning i saw in the news that 369 bills have been written toward voter suppression it is ain't going to even because we got to preach i ain't going ain't preached in a while but y'all understand y'all know how you get what i'm saying we we don't need to be ignorant amen and so i want to make sure that we understand why and that we pay attention to what's going on the news will be talking about tulsa even if they don't let us talk about it in the schools and i do need to say that the bill that was signed this week will punish schools that teach it if the school system teaches it funding will be withheld this is just how serious this season is in our lives if you don't think you need to vote this is one of the reasons why we need to vote some of these folk out and put some people in that are going to work for the common good i'm not interested in any race in white folk or any other race i think all of us ought to be able to dwell together in this great big world that god made because god has made all of us of one blood come on put your hands together and give god praise i know it ain't time for me to preach it but if i keep talking i'm gonna preach and i didn't fly bishop thomas all the way here for me to stand up here and preach so anyway i'm gonna get out the way uh dr stephanie payton i think is coming with a brief um presentation and then bishop w james thomas is in the house we were talking about you the other day and i said i need to invite bishop to preach he moved to delaware and my heart was broken but i'm so glad that planes are still flying and we are so grateful that he's here with us today so after dr payton comes we will have the introduction of our preacher phenomenal educated and visionary women on the campus of howard university decided to use their collective strength and influence to promote academic excellence and to provide assistance to those in need this was the founding of delta sigma theta sorority incorporated on january 13 1913. delta is an organization that is founded on christian principles and has developed and instituted programs that boldly confront the challenges of african americans and hence all americans from its founding delta has been involved on the front lines of social justice from its early involvement with the women's suffragist movement to most recently taking a stand as it relates to gender equality as well as racial profiling on april 7 2007 pastor gina marcia stewart was initiated into the memphis alumni chapter of delta sigma theta sorority incorporated as a part of the 188 pearls of perseverance since that day she has remained active she has served as a founder's day speaker panelist and presenter on multiple occasions and also had the opportunity to render prayer at a national ecumenical service whenever pastor is called upon she makes herself available for this great sisterhood she is committed to delta as well as consistently financial and active within our prestigious organization there's a running statement in our sisterhood when there is something important to be done our members often say there's a delta for that let me give you a few examples the first black woman neurosurgeon in the u.s there's a delta for that an alexa candidate md the first black woman member of congress and the first to run as a major party candidate there's a delta for that in shirley chisholm the first african-american woman general in the u.s army there's a delta for that and brigadier general hazel johnson brown phd and now the first female to be named conference preacher to the hampton ministers conference in 2011 the first female to receive the prestigious carter g woodson award from southwest community college in 2013 recipient of the living legend award for outstanding service to the community in 2017 the first female elected as the first and second vice president of the lot cary foreign mission convention and in august of 2021 she will be installed as the first woman president of the lot cary foreign mission convention there's the delta for that and my soror the reverend doctor gina m stewart on behalf of the members of delta sigma theta who are also members of christ missionary baptist church we would like to present you with this token we love you sora very in dover delaware bishop thomas loves the people of god and demonstrates this love through his pastoral ministry and community outreach before his assignment in delaware he faithfully served the people of shiloh church in memphis tennessee for 23 years bishop thomas graduated laude from cryden college with a bachelor of science degree in biblical studies magna laude with the master of divinity degree from memphis theological seminary and the doctor of ministry degree also from memphis theological seminary his deep concern and passion for education and excellence in preaching have given him the opportunity to serve as an adjunct professor at the lancaster bible college at memphis center for urban theological studies he currently serves as a board member of the academy of dover charter school and dover interfaith mission housing and chaplain for the dover police department on february 19 2011 he was duly consecrated to the sacred office of bishop and is currently a member in good standing of the joint college of bishops bishop thomas is a grand chapter life member and former chapter officer of kappa alpha psi fraternity incorporated bishop thomas is married to elder pastors on this side of heaven come on give god glory for the reverend dr gina marcia stewart my sister my pastor our pastor we're so grateful uh for this opportunity to be here to share in this celebration of this very wonderful church and certainly this was most wonderful pastor it's just a blessing to be here on today well if you have your bibles we won't be labeled a moment time if you have your bibles if you will go with us to the book of james the epistle of james the letter of james chapter number one james chapter number one very familiar passage of scripture for many of us uh reading verses 2 and 4 of james chapter number one reading from the english standard version the word of the lord count it all joy my brothers you meet trials of various kinds for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness and let steadfastness have its full effect that you may be perfect and complete lacking in nothing the word of god for the people of god thanks be to god you can be seated in the presence of our god for a few moments this morning i want to talk about it's about your future it's about your future one of the most interesting things about the bible is the fact that it is a living document or as some might prefer it is the living word of god what that means is as old as the bible is it's still relevant for those of us who are on this side of it the first century document is still able to give us direction and hope in our 21st century context i often hear people suggest that it means different things to different people but i kind of take a little bit of issue with that statement because as relevant and as as applicable as the word of god is uh maybe to even our individual situations there is still only one interpretation but there are many applications therefore it can only mean one thing but how we apply that meaning can be spread across a plethora of situations this particular text is one that really blesses the reader when you understand it in its proper and appropriate context when you understand it in the context in which it was written without attempting to misapply it based on an inaccurate interpretation it'll bless your entire life the text does offer us some good news that comes wrapped up in bad news it gives us some hope in what would appear to be a hopeless situation it gives us the grace to survive some challenging moments in life while at the same time teaching us how to live with those challenges for a season let me go ahead and give you the bad news of the text first when you read james chapter one verses two through four correctly and appropriately the underlining message of the text is there are some things that god will not get you out of let me go back and try it one more time the bad news of the text is when you read james chapter 1 verses 2 through 4 correctly and appropriately the underlining message of the text is there are some things that god will not get you out of there are some things that god will allow you to endure because without enduring it you'll never receive the power that's necessary to walk in your purpose there are some things that will require your complete cooperation and failure to do so will leave you deficient for your destiny there's some things that you have to go through today because they're going to be a blessing to your tomorrow there's some things you've got to deal with in your present because it's going to help you when you get to your future i wish i had some help in here there are there are some things that will require your complete cooperation and your failure to cooperate effectively appropriately and productively will leave you deficient for the future that you could have enjoyed had you made it through the season that you really didn't want to deal with in the first place god has left us in some situations because the situation you're going through is to develop your character that you may not currently possessed in this season so when i tell you it's about your future sometimes you've got to deal with what you got to deal with so that when you get where god is taking you you will have what you need to sustain where you are and not blow it when you get there that that means you got to put some stuff in check right now that means you got to put your attitude in check right now that means you got to put your mouth in check right now that that means you got to put your behavior in check right now because if you learn how to do it right now when you get to where god is taking you my god my god you'll be able to sustain being in that place well let me see if i can work it out in text you got your bible on me james chapter one to get to get us where this text is taking us we have to look at the author of the book the writer of the book of james is james the brother of jesus this is the same james mentioned in matthew chapter 15 verse number 55 where it says isn't this the carpenter's son isn't this his mother's name mary aren't these his brothers james joseph simon and judas this would be the same james that john chapter 7 verse 5 tells us did not believe that jesus was who jesus claimed to be by the time you get to first corinthians chapter 15 verse number 7 paul tells us that after jesus was resurrected from the grave jesus was seen by his brother james so the same james that wrote the book of james did not believe that jesus was who he said he was until after he saw him post resurrection okay y'all need to y'all need to watch it the the same james that grew up in the house with it the same james that played with him the same james that hung out with him the same james that was his brother did not believe that he was the jesus who he claimed to be until he saw him post resurrection now i think you need to make a note of that because that means something for the text that we're reading today maybe you're not shouting right now because you don't know the implication of what i just said let me see if i can help you with it just a little bit let me see if i can make this clear jesus's brother even though he lived with jesus was not convinced that jesus was who he said he was i gotta i gotta make sure you catch that uh maybe it had to do with something my god that he saw jesus going through that made him doubt or that added to or gave him evidence my god y'all now hear what i'm saying that jesus can't be the jesus that he claims to be okay okay okay he saw him betrayed he saw him arrested on trumped-up charges he saw him humiliated and beaten within inches of his life he saw him being nailed to a cross he heard him say some things concerning while he was hanging on the cross he he said stuff like my god my god why has thou forsaken me he heard him say some stuff like it's finished he saw him drop his head in the locks of his shoulders and give up the ghost he saw them take him down from the cross and bury him in joseph's borough tomb he saw him die you still ain't got it let me see if i can help you let let's let's let's look at the reality of the context of the text here it is if somebody told you that they were god manifested in the flesh and you saw them go through all of this and then to cap it off you saw them die your first thought would have been i didn't believe what he said when he said it oh have i got anybody in here if if if if i saw this man who claims to be who he is go through everything this man has gone through and ends up dead and being buried in a tomb it just confirms what i was already thinking and just like james you would have used his humiliating death as proof that you were right so it took james seeing jesus go through what he went through and then come out of it alive to convince him that jesus was who jesus said he was here's what i'm trying to tell somebody sometimes god will let you go through what you're going through not because god is picking on you not because god is trying to be mean to you sometimes you got to go through what you're going through because what you're going through is going to accomplish something that when it's all over it's going to yo oh god help me here it's going to exceed the pain of your experience maybe i need to say that one more time sometimes he's letting you go through what you're going through right now because when it's all over when it's all said and done when the dust is settled what you get on the other side of the experience is going to exceed the pain that you're going through right now if you can just get through this if you can just get on the other side of this if you can just make it on the other side of this god's going to get you on the other side of it and he's going to blow your mind with what he's going to give you well god help me when you get on the other side of it james will be the first person to tell you i saw jesus suffer watch this can we can we just kind of be real with the text here he says i saw jesus suffer i saw him go to the cross i saw him die i saw him suffer i saw him deal with what he had to deal with and here's the part that got me he claims to be god in flesh but i saw him deal with what he dealt with and him being god do nothing about it okay okay let me let me do it like this i saw him suffer i saw him humiliated i saw him die and god didn't even help him okay all right all right all right y'all y'all ain't here i'm i'm looking at him help people heal people deliver people cast demons out of people oh god help me help me forgive people sin get folk up off folk because they made a mistake i saw him eat republicans and sinners i saw him hang out with undesirables i saw him be present with people that other people wouldn't be present with and then he is humiliated hangs on the cross suffers and god does nothing about it watch it watch it saint james the same james but tell you that even though i didn't understand it on the front end i found out on the back end oh yes yes yes that that that that had not jesus suffered like he suffered i would have never known him in the power of his resurrection see here's the point he's saying again god is not always going to get you out but trust me when i tell you that if you prayed and god has not moved it is because god is up to something that's greater than what you realize and there's something in the ingredient of your present that's necessary for your future okay all right all right all right all right if i had a church in here i tell you i tell you tell somebody what you in now is necessary what you're in now is necessary because if it wasn't for today yo tomorrow would be all messed up the reason you can't appreciate your today is because you haven't seen your tomorrow but if god were to pull the curtain of your tomorrow back and let you get a peek into what your tomorrow is going to look like you wouldn't mind going through what you're dealing with right now you didn't pray and god has not moved there's a reason he had moved it's not that he's not aware of your situation it's not that he's not aware of what you're going through it's not that he's not aware of your suffering if he's allowing it to be so it must be a necessary ingredient for up god help me here for an outcome that i have not yet been able to put my finger on so james is able now to go through and watch jesus see him on the other side see him post resurrection and now he's able to open up the book he wrote y'all ain't got it here and say i'm a witness that you can count it all joy i'm not telling you what i heard i'm telling you what i saw i'm telling you what i witnessed so when i tell you to count it all joy is not something i got at a seminar at a conference somewhere it's not through some self-help book that i read somewhere but when i tell you to count it all joy i'm telling you that i'm a witness god help me hear that if you go through what you got to go through on the other side of it how you describe it is going to be different than how you talked about it when you went through it see right now i'm complaining right right right now i'm sitting around talking about don't nobody like me right right now i'm sitting around thinking everybody is against me but i promise you if you hold on for a minute god's gonna get you on the other side and what you used to describe as don't nobody like me everybody hates me ain't nobody with me the language the vernacular of how you describe it is going to change james says wait a minute count it all because because here here is here's something and here's something for you for you to write down there are some things that are about development and not deliverance that there's something that god is trying to do that if he gets you out won't be done so there are some things that are about development and not deliverance it gets more interesting y'all about done it gets more interesting here it is this word this word count uh uh it's an accounting term but but the word in the greek means to command or rule so james says when you fall into diverse temptations i think that's king james language when you fall into diverse temptations here is what he says when he says count it all joy what he's saying is command joy in in other words james says that because we are believers we don't let our situation command us we command how we gonna respond to the situation now now this is this is not to undermine the reality of mental and emotional issues because those things are real but it is to suggest that as believers god has given us grace to command how we gonna respond to what we're going through okay catch it like this james says i could have allowed what i saw my brother going through to cause me to fall into a state of complete hopelessness i could have allowed it to make me fall into a state of depression but just when i thought it was over jesus appeared to me oh lord oh lord oh so so so james is trying to get us to understand that if you are a believer and if you heard god speak to you about who he is and what he can do when calamity and chaos comes to your house you actually have two choices give in to what you see and you feel or command something different oh okay okay all right here's last thing his last thing his last thing that you have to understand his last thing you all know because you're a smart church you're an intelligent church you already know that joy and happiness are not the same thing you you don't need me to tell you that you already know that happiness is connected to an event so when things are well we're happy when bills are paid come on somebody we're happy when we like our job we're happy when our friends are really friends we're happy when same folk act like saved folk we happy but joy is not based on the current state of affairs joy is determined by the promises of god and the promises of god are not predicated on the current state of affairs but on the will and the power of the one who's making the promise so god can make you a promise in a bad situation and the promise is not affected by the situation okay okay okay god can see you in a mess and promise you a miracle because the mass is not able nor does it have the power to overcome what god has promised you okay all right all right all right so so if if if the promise is based on the power and the will of the one making the promise and it's not affected by the situation or the current state of affairs of what you're in watch this watch this that means that means that means that i have two choices i can either respond to the situation as it is or i can lean on the promise of god and command joy okay y'all uh if the problem is what i see but the promise is what i heard that i have the capacity as a believer to command joy because what i see is not what he said watch let me give you one more let me give you one more one more i'm done i'm just glad to be here let me give you one more one more watch watch watch what he says he says he says count all right it means we already know it it means to command or to rule but count also means to calculate are reconciled you see that uh james says when i saw what jesus went through and i added it all up it looked like the end i said it looked like watch he he said oh jesus he said when he considered all that he saw it appeared that jesus was a man just like him okay okay okay but what james wasn't doing when he saw what he saw is he wasn't calculating what god had already said about his son i'm only responding to what i'm looking at with my natural eye okay okay remember remember remember y'all just hang with me just a minute remember remember that the promises of god are fuel for joy how do i get from how i feel about what i see to the point of knowing what i heard him say if joy is fueled by the promises of god then when you're calculating uh and considering your current situation make sure you don't forget to include the promises of god watch watch here because if the promises of god are fueled for joy james is not thinking about what jesus has already said in matthew chapter 12 verse number 40 for as jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly so shall the son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth he forgot what jesus said in john chapter 2 verse number 19 jesus answered and said unto them destroy this temple and in three days i'm going to raise it up okay y'all hear what i'm saying so if joy is fueled by the promises of god then when you're calculating and considering your current situation i got to tell you again make sure you don't forget to include the promises of god because that's going to make the difference in the answer you come up with if all you consider is the current situation you're going to end up depressed you're going to end up frustrated going to end up suicidal you're going to end up bitter you're going to end up regretful you're going to end up angry but when you add it all up and then you include in your equation the promises of god james says on the other side of the equal sign is joy okay all right when you include the promises of god you trust that whatever god is doing he's doing it with your future in mind so when you include the promises of god you get happy over a hellish situation i wish i had some help when you include the promises of god you can put a comma where everybody else is trying to put a period because what looks like the end of the story is actually just the end of a chapter okay see i won't preach somebody i'm done right here i want to preach to somebody who can catch this in your spirit that god is not finished moving in your life all right i don't know who this is for i said i don't know who this is for but let me give it to you one more time god is not finished moving in your life oh i wish i had some help just if you can just holler down the road tell somebody not just yet not not just yet not just a god it's not finished moving in your life the final word has not been given yet because i'm still calculating the situation okay all right all right that the conclusion of the matter has not come in yet the jury is still out on the situation james says god is up to something here here i am if you're looking for me james said verse 3 and 4 knowing this that the trying of your faith work is patience but come on somebody let patience have a perfect work that ye may be perfect and entire wanting nothing okay let me give it to you like this james says just let it play out because before it's all over it's going to be to your benefit and for his glory james says stop trying to get out too soon but let it do what it's going to do because when you put the promise of god in the calculation the end result is you're going to look at it and say count it oh joy so here's here wait a minute here here is the his end of it god god is giving you everything you need but he's giving it to you in your trial okay somebody see see you think things have to be good or perfect for him to bless you but what i want you to know is god doesn't need a perfect situation he just needs for you to allow the current situation to perfect you he doesn't need for things to be right he just needs for you to trust the promise because he's going to give you what you need in your trial which which means pain can be developmental the final word has not been given so god is giving you everything you need but he's giving it to you in your trial you think that what he has for you has to wait until what you're going through is over but he's going to give you what you need in what you're going through while you're going through it because what he gives you in your trial is going to be what you need for your destiny god is giving you everything you need but he's giving it to you in the season that you sitting here trying to get out of oh jesus jesus god is giving you power but he's using your problem to give it to you god is anointing you afresh but he's doing it while you're under pressure yeah yeah god is taking you to new dimensions but he's doing it through a seeming disaster he's he's lifting you up by taking some stuff that you thought you needed he's making you whole by subtracting some stuff because god's math ain't like our math lord jesus so he's separating some things because there is some stuff that can't go where god is taking you but you ain't strong enough to give it up on your own you ain't strong enough to walk away from it on your own yo yo you you all in it when god was giving you red flags about it long time ago because but but because your flesh and you were trying to make your flesh be the will of god you you're having some kind of ventriloquist moment where you're hearing god warn you and you're saying i rebuke you save me where you hear him telling you this ain't gonna work out for you but now you're talking about folk just don't want me to be happy okay ain't got nobody help me right here but but here is god saying i'm i'm separating you from some stuff that you don't have god help me hear that you don't have the will to walk away from on your own oh if i had somebody in here y'all tell somebody i see now i see now cause cause cause i'm on the other side of it but here's the end when you thought what you thought was the end was really just the beginning of god getting ready to do something better in your life and so i came to prophesy to somebody that if you can just hang in there for just a minute god's going to show you that i've been up to something the whole time he's going to show you that what you're in i wasn't trying to kill you but what i was trying to do is i was trying to make you better for what i had for you because if i gave it to you like you are you wouldn't be able to sustain it in the first place if i put it before you with the mindset that you have right now you wouldn't be able to hold on to it if i let you go in it with the behavior and the attitude that you have right now you wouldn't be able to sustain it but what i did is i let you see some things i let you experience some things i let you go through some things so i could develop in you what's already not there so that by the time you come out on the other side you're gonna be able to look back on that thing and say count it all joy have i got a witness in here so you're going to be able on the other side of it to look back over your life and think about all of the things that god has brought you through how he fixed it when it was broken how he lifted it up when it was down how he shielded you from what could have affected you how he gave you peace in the middle of your storm how he let you sleep in a bad situation i wish i had help in the room but god's gonna let you come out on the other side and you're gonna be able to look at it and you're gonna be able to count it all joy somebody in here today somebody watching online today is in a bad situation but i came to tell you today just go on through it and let it do what it's gonna do because god's gonna bring you out on the other side and when he brings you out on the other side you're gonna be a whole lot better than what you are right now is there anybody in here that's been through some stuff that's been through some pain that's been through some heartache that's had your heart broken that's been disappointed but now that you're on the other side of the situation you can lift up your hands and say god i thank you cause it was hard back then it was rough back then i didn't know what i was gonna do back then but here i am i'm still here i'm still lifting my hands i'm still giving you praise is there anybody in here that can thank god that when you went through what you went through god let you have just a little bit of peace in your life that you could still come to church you could still lift your hands you could still give him praise and people were looking at you knowing what you were going through wondering how you're shouting like you're shouting because god is able to give you a little bit of yourself on the inside that'll let you get through y'all ain't shouting about it but let me help somebody in here there's a reason that you got a little joy there's a reason that you got a little peace because god is insulating you he's isolating you so that what you're in won't kill you but it'll hold you till you get to the next place i'm still here because he got his hand on me i'm still here because i got a little anointing i'm still here cause i got a little hope i'm still here cause i got a little joy i'm still here because it ain't over until it says it's over so if you see me shouting don't worry about it if you see me running don't worry about it if you see me dancing don't worry about it he's reserved enough of himself on the inside of me to get me to the next thing that i got to go through and when i come out when i've been tried in the fire i shall come forth as pure gold have i got anybody and here you are on the other side here you are with your praise intact here you are with more power than you ever had so when i look at it and i describe it i gotta count it oh joy i got a command just joy i gotta calculate joy because this joy that i have the world didn't get it to me and the world can't take it away have i got a witness is there somebody that can shout us before it's over shout out before you get out shout out before it ends because god is going to work it out god is going to fix it for you god is going to bring it out yay yes yes god is going to give you your heart back god is going to give you your love back god is going to give you your join back this joy this joy this joy yes yes this joy he's given me is gonna help me but i didn't know that what i'm getting now is what he had in mind it's about my future go through it go through it go through it because god he will yes he will bring you out have i got a witness have i got a witness have i got a witness i can truly say that i've been blessed i got a testimony somebody yeah yes somebody somebody got a testimony yes yes count it count it it's about your future your presence what you're dealing with right now it's just ingredients [Music] what god is going to do in your life on the other side count it all joy when you endure diverse temptations don't let it get the best of you but you command it it may be happening to me but i get to say so of how it's going to affect me [Applause] oh yeah yeah i get to decide what i'm going to let it do to me because as a believer i have authority over the situation as a believer i get to tell it what it's going to do to me it doesn't get to command me i get to command it and i've decided that i'm going to shout about it i've decided that i'm going to give god praise for it because eyes have not seen ears have not heard neither has it entered into the hearts of men what god has in store for them that love him god is not finished with you yet you just have to change how you see your situation it can't end you unless you give it permission to it can't end you until you give it permission to but you know what when you look at a situation and what you're looking at is not what he promised that mean it ain't it okay y'all miss if what i'm looking at doesn't look nothing like what he told me then this ain't it and if this ain't it it means he's not done because all of the promises of god are yay in amen it's about your future your present go through it go through it because out of it is an ingredient that you're going to need for where god is taking you somebody watching today you're right there you're just about at that place you say god i'm done i'm done i'm tired of fooling with church people i'm tired of fooling with everybody i'm done but it's in this moment that if you're not careful you're going to throw out an essential ingredient that's needed for this next place that god is taking you to there's some things you can't make without certain ingredients there's certain things ain't gonna come out right without certain ingredients and so you have to be able to say yes lord when your flesh says no god you got to be able to walk through the house sometimes and say lord i don't understand none of this but yes lord somebody today and i want you to understand that it's hard to do this by yourself you need god in your life you need the power of his spirit in your life to help you see what you can't see to help you know what you can't know to help you remember what you've forgotten and so today i want to extend an invitation to somebody to say yes lord maybe you're not saved you don't know jesus in the pardon of your sin if you say yes to him right now he'll say yes to you if you come to him he'll come right to you all you got to do is say yes to him write them believe in your heart that jesus christ died on the cross just for you and what he did on the cross that fished work he did it with you and mine the bible says you shall be saved that's the word of god maybe you're that person who you're not in church something happened i don't know but i want you to know that this is a good day to say yes to god you need a church you need people who can help you on your journey this is a good place to be because you'll have people here that will love you that will walk with you that will help you on your journey you have a pastor who will love you who will care for you who will minister to you who will empower you that will help you to become what you do not have the ability to become on your own if you're looking for a church home this is a good place to be right here just say yes i'm sure there's an opportunity for you to reach out to the church to call them to send an email to let them know that i'm looking for a church home and i think christ missionary baptist church is the place that god is calling for me to be maybe you need to come back maybe you left i want you to know god didn't leave you you left him but he stands today with his arms outstretched saying if you come to me i'll come right where you are so wherever you are today if you bow your head with me i just want to pray for you and god i thank you today i thank you that you're giving us everything we need i thank you that you're blessing us with everything we need i thank you that even in our trial and even in our pain you're making us whole you're developing us and now god i'm praying for somebody who's watching today they need you right now touch their heart have them to know that this is the day not tomorrow not next week but this is the day now god you do what you do by the power of the holy ghost and touch that heart touch that man that woman that boy that girl calls them right now to say yes to you we thank you we give you praise we give you honor and we give you glory in jesus name we pray the people of
