you're right folks welcome back and if you knew it's nice to have you so picking up from part one I've been doing some fiddling with the classes and specs available in cataclysm pay no mind to how I did that and if anyone asks tell them my garden shed is a Tardis before we begin properly there are three classes and a couple of specs that have been stricken from contention immediately reasons varied I will go over the classes quickly now and the specs when we reach the relevant class later first up then is priest I'm sure any priestes out there will have a grand time but as I said in the last video disc isn't for me and yes it gets tweaked but I'm still not a fan and the whole chakra system that Holy priests getting cataclysm is also not to my tastes it can get very awkward very quickly unless they make some changes to it quite often by the time you're getting your money's worth as it were out of that system you no longer need the Shakra you're using unless you just stick to one regardless of what's going on in the fights and changing them regularly can be a bit clunky I have no issue whatsoever with Shadow ultimately I will level my priest and he will be Shadow and I will have an ospc if that's disc or holy I don't know yet and in small contain doses I might be fine with them but as a looming regular possibility no thank you second is Warrior now Warrior is one of those classes I tend to have a LoveHate relationship with because depending on the expansion I either really love them or I can't stand them in cata I wouldn't go quite as far as to say it's a leper I want to keep it a distance of no less than 10 ft I've always had a soft spot for protection and would happily play it but as I've said before tanking and healing is an offsp for me and in my current Guild it's not something I can base an entire decision around and with DPS Warrior Fury tends to get better as the expansion goes on and gear piles up on its back which is fine but in at it's generally outperformed from start to finish by arms arms from vanilla to wrath is basically a support spec used only for debuffs and Mortal strike and y y but in cataclysm it gets really good however my issue with arms is that I had a warrior alt in original cataclysm made the day the expansion launched before this I didn't have a warrior I watched try wgan now it all kind of aligned and he became an ALT I rather liked playing until it got to the end game it quickly became beginner's guide in coding as I remember every other button needing a macro or a counselor or a macro and every patch the bloody things broke and had to be redone honestly I got fed up with it and I don't want to repeat that they may make some changes but it's something that has stuck out in my mind for the last 13 years for all the wrong reasons and I'm not keen for my play time to be swallowed up by staring at the macro UI every week and as such I'm going to pass on Brown toown This Time round the final class removed from the pool is Hunter now unlike the previous two classes it's got nothing to do with the specs I would happily play any witch combination of survival Marksman or Beast Master the reason Hunter is not in contention is because it was my main in original CER Hunter was my OG main from vanilla all the way through to the end of Mists where I switched up properly for the first time to a prop Warrior I also maned my hunter from AQ to KNX in classic and he was an all I played regularly enough in TBC and was one of my three Mains in Wrath up until I switched my Paladin in fact is there's nothing really new for me here I love my hunter I really do but the idea of taking him through Blackwing descent fireand dragon soul etc etc does not excite me cuz I did it all 13 years ago I got my hunter fix in Wrath and I had no issues swapping him out when I did I do still enjoy playing him I love watching my explosive traps crit like a cruise liner but I'm never desperate to jump back on him after I've logged off I know I would enjoy Hunter but it doesn't excite me the same way it did when I was a young so I'm happy to keep him on the bench and wheel him out when I fancy dispensing some rifle based Justice on some unsuspecting Twilight goons onto the other classes we go before we touch on them however something I want to clear up because it might have gotten lost in translation in the last video I said I want to multiroll which is true but that does not mean I am unwilling to consider a pure DPS class at least for one of the three if I've got a character that can DPS tank another that can DPS and heal and the third is just a pure murderbot that is fine I don't want to screw myself out of a fun time because I'm dead set on being able to switch around at the drop of a hat to warlock we go then and yeah this one tickled my fancy somewhat at least two specs did so Destro first and like I said in part one I am a simple creature I want to feel I've hit something if I hit it and Destro does that nicely chaos bolt and soulfire have always been fun to press and when they crit you know about it there's a decent amount of dot juggling however you're going to keep your imilate corruption bane of Doom Etc up which I did find a bit annoying at certain intervals of play particularly when I'm charging up a big ass chaos bolt and all the dots fall off and I just go from a really big height to immediately micromanaging the dots again but I have a feeling that with prolonged exposure to this spec that's something I could remedy pretty easily practice makes perfect and all that then Affliction yes this was very very fun definitely a higher skill ceiling on this one which is fine and that's not to say Destro is for lame brains certainly not but Affliction has always had the potential to reap The Souls of anything in a 20 M radius when in the hands of a skilled player and a weekend warlock shall we say might have fewer issues with something like Destro in comparison I am not opposed to it being a bit more finicky and you might think it weird I like the spec because again I've said I'd like to feel when I hit something but with a DOT spec you kind of expect your graphic to not be as instantaneous and being a dots spec does not mean that those dots cannot feel good to press or result in very dead cannon fodder and with Affliction seed of corruption now puts corruption on everything nearby when it explodes so that just makes multi-d doting that little bit more fun and satisfying demonology then yeah this is where things for me drop off which is weird so for the most part demo plays as it does in Wrath with the odd additions here in there and my warlock in Wrath is currently demo however it just wasn't tickling my pickle for C it'll probably be one of the better specs in the game particularly come dragon soul and there in lies the Crux of the issue from what I've read from forums back in the day private server info which is of course subject to change and is not as accurate as what blizzard will put out Destro ultimately gets relegated to third spec status again warlocks will probably be demo an Affliction and as as far as Affliction goes that's not too bad I like it but Destro is my favorite of the three specs and when you put demo next to it it feels like I'm doing more work to achieve even a fraction of the enjoyment Destro gets the old dopamine receptors firing immediately but I don't get that with demonology but a plus for warlocks as a whole is that you can now drop a doom guard or an infernal as a DPS cool down without it screwing over you're currently summoned pet so they much more akin to a Shaman's Elementals and it's incredibly satisfying to watch a massive infernal wade into combat and Fry everything in the same hemisphere not really touched on Dark Intent either there's not much point it's a buff you'll be told who to put it on and both of you will benefit once some Lucky Sword has been granted your Unholy Boon you'll probably forget about it though I wouldn't be surprised if your Guild's warlocks form Dark Intent circles like Mages have with Focus magic and speaking of Mage oh Mage is fun Mage is really fun I was giggling the entire time I was messing around with Mage particularly fire both single Target and AOE just felt amazing and with talents like impact which allows fire blast to spread your dots to everything else nearby you end up with some pretty insane sights as every mob attending your Guild's weekly Garden Party explodes in a fiery Orchestra I just couldn't help but have fun plain and simple it's fun I like fun blast wave can now also be cast from range which makes that ability less annoying to press and overall I just enjoyed pressing all the buttons pyro blast did what I expected it to living bomb particularly once spread to the four corners of the encounter was amazing to watch in action Scorch can be cast while moving so I'm not SC SC if I have to move it was just Grand now the downside with fire as is always the case is that it's gear dependent and until you get the gear you will be lagging behind a little bit and you might even need to play another spec in this case that will be Arcane now I'm fine with Arcane in Wrath and in cat it's not the most exciting and compared to fire it's a little bit one note but I was never bored and I never felt like it was an underwhelming experience the numbers were sufficient and once the Arcane blast Stack Up it felt like you had just cracked the mob with a nether powerered right hook it's decently satisfying and I would be happy to play this spec until such a time as I could justify the transition to Fire and begin my journey to socially acceptable Pyromania basically fire had me cackling Like A demented baboon the entire time when Arcane got a nod of satisfaction out of me which isn't meant to be a big negative Arcane is just kind of stuck with the one button approach despite efforts to make it more interesting it's the nature of the Beast and that's fine Arcane has always been in an expansion or two behind the other specs Mage also gets time warping C so there is now a brand new population for raid leaders to abuse for that Oho important 30% haste now I've not touched on Frost and I'm not gonna it's a PVP spec you might see the odd one or two running around but being realistic Arcane and then fire will be the go-to as has been the case for the last couple of expansions and if I've suffered a severe enough head injury to venture into PVP the spec I'm playing will be the least of my concerns onto Druid an enjoyable if not overly memorable a experience boomkin is just a cleaner version of what we have in Wrath if you like it in Wrath you will like it in C it's definitely in it so the Luna phase now and you just press the buttons that light up until other buttons light up it will do the damage you're not going to need to consult the manual each and every fight it's perfectly acceptable I was just not blown away my face wasn't hideously contorted into an uncomfortable grin but equally I did not feel the need to cleanse in an impromptu bleach bath then there was feral cat that is again I enjoyed it but was not overly gripped it's a fair amount of plate spinning to keep up most of your bleeds your Savage Roar Etc and I never had any heart pumping moments where I was particularly ecstatic to be pressing the buttons laid out before me this theme continues with Resto I like Resto Druid it's probably my most played healer and wrath at the moment but I am just not particularly infused by it in cataclysm it's again serviceable acceptable people will love it I however am not so deeply moved feral bear is one of those specs I'm just skipping over it does not interest me ultimately if I'm going to be a tank or a Healer as far as Druid is concerned I'd rather be Resto and in the broader sense I'd rather be any of the other tanks specs available it's not a comment on his performance just my preference for this expansion next up is Shaman Elemental first um yeah it's much the same as it was in Wrath with a few tweaks now I've played Elemental since TBC classic it was my main in TBC and is one of my current Main alss in Wrath so I do find it fun lava burst crits always make me smile and attaching magical jump plead to the nipples of every mob in the region and watching them spasm as their bowels give away is as satisfying as ever however as I said I've played it for the last two expansions I'm starting to glaze over a bit when I'm playing it it isn't bad it'll probably do very well and I do enjoy it but I think I just want something new cuz I did find my self drifting much like a joystick on a PS5 controller then there's enhancement yeah I quite like this one now talents are a lot less free form in catter and as such the age of spell Hance will be over and it'll be back to the status quo but even with that said I couldn't really find much of a fault with it I had fun there might have even been the hints of a smoke whilst hammering away at stuff and Visually at least you just feel like some great big ax wielding demig God slinging thunder and lightning everywhere the only downside really is the wind Fury tradeoff sometimes you can go a little while just tickling Mobs with all the force of a foam finger but then you end up getting multiple wind Fury procs back to back at which point it feels like you've just unleashed the condensed kinetic energy of an atomic bomb in someone's face that's nothing new for enhancement so it's hardly a complaint but it can still be a bit depressing in between those lovely wind Fury backhanders when you're just frantically waving your weapons that are dragon's toenails but even still the abilities you get storm strike lava lash Etc do feel good to press they very much do what they say on the tin and getting off a five stack male from ability helps break things up sufficiently enough that it's still enjoyable and then finally for the shamans Resto possibly my favorite of the three specs in cataclysm now it's more than just pressing chain heel with the intermittent rip side you'll be using your other buttons more frequently depending on the fight your rip side button will be abused there's healing rain which I've always loved there's more cooldowns Spirit link totem and spirit Walkers Grace for example are amazing and regardless of if shamer becomes one of my Mains again I have no doubt Resto will become my favorite and go-to healer for this expansion and we progress ever onward towards Rogue I'm really liking Rogue a lot it's probably a decently High Contender Rogue has been a class I've kind of just always forgotten about I've had an old Rogue for as long as I can remember but rarely have I set foot in a raid with it it just kind of sits on my character select screen looking pretty I've wanted to play a rogue for quite a while I just never got round to it for one reason or another now assassination has my fancy it's not the most complicated spec by any stretch but with this class I revert to my simple desires I'm expecting a backstabbing dagger twirling hooded villain lurking in an Alleyway and that's the feel I get the spec makes up for being relatively simple by just doing the damage it says it will if your ability says it's going to forcefully cram two daggers into the ribs of your Foe and all you get is a disappointing fart and only a minor fraction of the mob's Health disappears that does not feel great but thankfully that does not happen mobs take a decent smack and you get a satisfyingly high number of Pier so yeah could really see myself playing this subtlety then not a spec I've ever really dabbled with before last time I did was during Legion to get the Mage Tower skin and that was less playing the spec and more just researching ways to cheese the hell out of the encounter whilst pretending to be a sub Rog I find it a bit more PL spinny than assassination but still suitably roguish that I can see myself getting into it if needs be and it's just really interesting pressing buttons I haven't really pressed in a meaningful manner before combat fun fact this is not the first take of this section because I keep saying Bloody Outlaw combat is serviceable and I will play it if I have to but I do kind of want to play a dagger Rogue more than anything because I never have my retail Rogue always defaults to combat SL Outlaw so I'd like to approach this particular class from a different angle in classic but if I had to play Combat in C I would with no complaints it's combat there's not really much in the way it changes but that works to its Advantage here and I do like how revealing strikes slots in the rotation so you know that's a plus the big death knight then my current main my dearly beloved this is the class I've probably played most in Wrath and actually in general DK is just hands down my favorite class of all time I tend to go over things regarding it with the fine tooth so let's start with frost it primarily plays as it does in Wrath I press the same buttons to get the same results however and this however is for all of the specs they've taken what pestilence did I.E spreading your plagues and refreshing them on your primary target and they've just dissected it spreading what it did to three abilities instead of a clean and simp simple one you now have outbreak which puts both diseases on a Target at no room cost at a one minute cool down fair enough I suppose but I never had an issue with how it worked in Wrath pestilence now only spreads the plagues and doesn't refresh them and now we have festering strike which doesn't completely refresh them just slightly increases the timer and is completely pointless and Frost and you might as well just do it manually but yeah apart from this mumbo jumbo with the diseases it's the same spec it does what I expect there's also hungering cold which is a pretty cool Talent you'll be taking in cat which freezes everything in a radius and applies Frost fever so good for multi doting I guess but is pretty bloody useful in situations where a lot of ccs are required Unholy next and the morb spec is no more big sad for all of those people that enjoyed it it's now the time of two-handers skourge strike and a generally more consistent style of Play I Like it this is what holy has always been in my mind if for whatever reason I had to swap to Unholy and cata I would yeah I'd be a bit peeved cuz Frost is my favorite but that doesn't take away from the fact I like cataclysm Unholy many won't because of how the dual wield raspect works and that's fine I don't blame them I completely get it it is a different style of play but I've always liked being this sour night clad Behemoth cleaving everything in Twain with an oversized and overpowered Rune Blade Dark transformation is also a button I enjoy pressing it makes sense the DK spec geared towards minions an overwhelming Unholy power can mutate and transform said Minions on the Fly blood yeah I'm very fond probably my second favorite tank spec in cata it's not too dissimilar from wrath however just a few extra buttons that make it more proactive as opposed to reactive at the moment in Wrath you kind of got to get slapped around as a blood DK some abilities to actually work not so much the case in Kata we get things like C strike and it just feels like I'll be actively using abilities more often which is always a good thing in my mind rise Ally has also been morphed into its battle res form so DK's now have that going for them in a 25 man it's not as big a deal as there will be a limit to the amount of battle res as you can use and generally The Druids with their long standing will fill that role nicely but in a 10 man another class with the battle res is just a little bit scandalous and there is dark simulacrum which I'm really looking forward to using because I remember this ability being fun basically it allows the DK to Nick an ability off a mob and then use it you can do a lot of cheesing with this and I foresee lots of widey villain laughing as a result onto the grand finale Paladin R first and uh yeah this took me a little while to get used to R is a spec I've been playing quite a lot the last couple of months and it's pretty simple in Wrath especially once you get the tier 10 2 set and you just Spam Your Divine storm button until your keyboard starts waving a little white flag but it's hilarious fun and the addition of the hand of Reckoning glyph helped fill the rotation out a little bit however inat at first glance it can be a little bit overwhelming holy power is now the resource of the day it's Builder spender Crusader strike Divine storm Etc build holy power and then you spend it on new abilities like templar's verdict a simple damage dump zealotry a buff that allows your Crusader strike to generate Three Holy power for 20 seconds and just lets you spam out max power Spenders and then there's also Inquisition a buff that increases holy damage by 30% the length of time increasing the more holy power you spend on it so yes the age of runin and spam button R is in the past but with that said I did really enjoy the cata style of things there is a bit more thought that actually goes into every button press and you're not just dribbling on yourself and needlessly spamming one or two buttons good rats are going to shine and shine brightly and once I re wired my brain and got out of the WRA thre mode it's actually kind of intuitive just keep an eye on your cool downs and Buffs and you will dispense holy Justice on every non-believer in the land crop Paladin my favorite tank this expansion like with Rett holy power is now a thing and build a spender is the way you'll be going you get Crusader strike and shield of the righteous now requires holy power to spend they also get Inquisition and other than that the buttons you're familiar with as far as PR concerned are still there and if you like it in W you should like it in C it's Grand and pro is weirdly strong if memory serves there were even entire encounters that prop paldins could just solo because of how strong they were and I have no doubt they will just dominate the tanking space in cataclysm there's not much more to say on it really i' like it in Wrath and I'd love it in CER it's strong yes but it's also really fun it's got a decent selection of abilities and doing a Captain America rarely gets old holy this is what one of the specs I'm sadly skipping over not because there's anything really wrong with it I like holy Palin a lot I just love Pro uh if I'm playing a paladin I want my ospc to be Pro I find it so much more satisfying but with that said holy is strong and I would not be surprised if they just dominate in cata like their tank Brethren they get so much more added to their toolkit Divine Light holy Radiance light a dawn that it will be impossible to be bored playing this spec just again personally prot is trumping it and you might wonder why I'm somewhat limiting myself to two specs and not going in but all three I've got to be realistic I'm not going to have an up to Snuff tank DPS and healer spec for something with three rolls it's different in retail because stats change on gear with the spec so even if you don't have an optimal setup you at the very least should have a functional one there's no such luck in classic so I've got to be honest here it's going to be really unlikely I'll have the gear to reliably dps1 fight tank another and heal a third but there we are those are the classes and specs for cataclysm I have a lot of thinking to do because there are certain classes and specs I thought I'd really enjoy that I was just kind of indifferent towards and then there are others that have just grabbed me by the knackers and haven't let go so I'm going to go away and weigh up the pros and cons etc etc and see where the magic finger lands but this has gone on long enough so that's me for now let me know your own thoughts down below if you so kind to like sub share your pass and so on that'll be grand have a good one folks bye for [Music] [Music] now
