Californian professor slammed for ‘ignorance’ about origin of police

in america there's one teacher or one uh sorry one district area james has said don't tell your parents what the curriculum is what's all this about yeah so this look i mean we were talking about the curriculum earlier uh here on the show in australia but in rockwood missouri in the united states a teacher has been called out she was the learning coordinator for everybody in years six to twelve and she wrote this long email to all of her teachers saying look we're getting a lot of complaints from parents they're saying that we're pushing an activist agenda a left-wing agenda all this social justice critical race theory stuff what do we do about it well the coordinator said everybody just keep teaching but here's the thing take the curriculum documents off of the website where the parents might be able to see them so they don't know what you're up against now the school district found out about this and they issued a kind of a semi sort of sorry we got caught kind of apology but it is an absolute disgrace and i think the parents here will also have had plenty of experiences of this sort of nonsense being pushed on their kids in their classrooms rita you've got a an example of a an american teacher at work for us well this is a university cypress college in california let's have a let's have a listen to this teacher and her ideas about policing and where it all originated from honestly the whole reason police i mean it is systemic the issue is systemic because the whole reason we have police departments in the first place where did it stem from what's our history going back to what jeremy was talking about was what does it stem from it stems from people in the south wanting to capture runaway slaves so the only reason we have police forces it was because in the south they wanted to capture runaway slaves i mean can you believe the ignorance and the idiocy there and the poor student who was putting forward some very rational thoughts about not all police are bad a lot of them put their lives on the line to help the community and and to to come to your rescue at times of peril and she was having none of it the police are systematically racist and we only have police forces because they were created to capture runaway slaves it was horrific and it uh it also went on with the poor boy he was just saying but uh some cops are heroes so it was a zoom conference the boy was a student that was the teacher there and uh rita and james the poor kid was basically told no you're not allowed to say that even a single cop is a hero it's extraordinary
