you're looking at the top tandem of running backs in the entire nfl walter payton and roland harper of the chicago bears and they'll take their offense today against the second best team in defense in the nfc led by the selman brothers dewey the linebacker leroy the defensive end of the tampa bay buccaneers the nfl on cbs today's game is sponsored by ford and your ford dealer who invite you to see and test drive the all-new ltd and mustang easy tasting budweiser the king of beers when you say budweiser you've said it all and by sears tire and auto center home of straight talk good values and satisfaction [Music] it's a sunny hot but windy day at tampa stadium in tampa florida as cbs sports presents an nfc central matchup the chicago bears on the tampa bay buccaneers hello everyone i'm tim ryan with johnny morris here at tampa stadium and again johnny we have ourselves another important game to cover that's right tim they seem to get bigger each week both teams are now three and four and with the packers already three games ahead the loser today is going to be out of it as far as the division is concerned winning the division so it's a big game i think a very special element here this afternoon is a change in the starting lineup of tampa bay wally chambers is going to start a defensive end for tampa bay and of course he's a former chicago bear he hasn't played all that much about a half a game but his knee has progressed they say he's been playing very well the last two games and he is ready you got to believe he's ready to play against the bears well we talked about the importance of this game and you can see it reflected in the standings themselves in the nfc central division the bears and minnesota and tampa bay all three and four and of course green bay off to that great start at six and one well the teams are coming out for the toss of the coin and of course tampa bay will be in their home orange uniforms and the chicago bears will be in visiting white road uniforms and that ceremony takes place with referee fred wyant conducting tampa bay has won the toss tampa bay will receive obviously to try and get momentum early the chicago bear captains go off the field doug buffon roland harper and walter payton and so tampa bay will have the ball first down here in tampa a nice sunny day windy as you mentioned tim last year the bears a nine and five playoff team the buccaneers were two and twelve they've already surpassed their winning record of a year ago with three victories thus far john mccain his third year feeling pretty good about the progress his team has made he knows he has to do better offensively and still trying to structure an offensive line he likes his young quarterback and you'll be seeing him today doug williams number 12. an exciting youngster the number one pick from grambling both these teams have added some new players in the past couple of weeks frank grant came over from washington as a wide receiver for the bucks they needed some help there for doug williams people to throw to and frank grant one of the real experienced receivers in the nfl in his sixth year from southern colorado at running back to replace he injured jimmy dubose gone for the season with a knee injury after 109 yard performance against the giants last week they picked up alvin maxson from smu on waivers from the pittsburgh steelers a pretty good running back for a couple of seasons with the new orleans saints and so those are two of the new faces for the tampa bay buccaneers and we're looking at maxson right now number 28 as he is awaiting the kickoff from bob thomas the bears of course added alan page he'll wear number 82 he debuted on monday night against the denver broncos after many great seasons with the minnesota vikings and he will start at defensive right tackle for the bears again this afternoon there is bob thomas number 16 and we're ready to play football on this brilliant day in tampa bay maxson is a deep man and the ball is going to come to him at the 10-yard line of tampa hit at the 25 by number 58 muckensterm and so the tampa bay bucks will start first and 10 from their own 25-yard line and offensively with doug williams at quarterback the running backs will be ricky bell number 42 and johnny davis the rookie from alabama number 38. the wide receivers will be frank grant number 83 and morris owens number 85 and there is that offensive line up front revis and carlton the tackles horton and metal in the guard jimmy giles is the tight end first down this is davis make it ricky bell number 42 ricky bell the first carry of the game doug buffon didn't give him much picked up a couple on the play and they've got to get big things from ricky bell who's been bothered by a turf toe but with dubose gone you've got to expect he's going to carry the rushing load today johnny john mckay says ricky bell is going to have a good season get four or five 100 yard gains before the season is over he's got a lot of confidence in ricky bell as you look at the chicago bear lineup there are the linebackers uh tom hicks doug buffon gary campbell tom hicks but has an injured shoulder we'll see a lot from don reeves today and the secondary is still missing alan ellis virgil live there's a fumble on the play but doug williams dove on it a little pit shot looked like davis was the man who bobbled it and williams alertly falling on it but the loss on the play for tampa davis was not expecting the ball he got the pitch out he was looking towards the sidelines so there was a little bit of a mix-up on that play i think bear fans would be interested in watching doug williams he has only completed 37 percent of his passes this year but he is he can throw that ball he can be almost down and throw a strike big strong young man six four 215 pounds and john mckay likes the way he stands in there in the face of the russian he's had plenty of that to see there's one now deep on third down and almost picked off it was intended for morris owens but he threw it sooner than he wanted to it was doug plank who nearly had a chance to pick it off and there was good heat it looked like osbourne i believe who was the man closest to williams as uh he unloaded the ball so it'll bring up a punting situation and i just measured it out that was a 65-yard pass in the air that's not too bad they say he can throw 100 if he took his time had all the conditions and the wind maybe a little bit with him that he could throw 100 yards can you believe that he is really a great looking young prospect still throwing the ball hard and john mckay again says let him throw let him develop on his own he'll it'll come to him steve schubert the deep man dave green hits it from his 19. schubert at the 31 of the bears one good move picks up about five yards gets out to the 38 yard line and he's hit there by aaron brown reserve linebacker number 55. and so we have 13 26 remaining first period with a score the chicago bears nothing tampa bay nothing we're here to remove this dead tree with a skill saw brand chainsaw it's solid state for easy starts light and controllable with patented anti-vibration handles and an exclusive inertia chain brake system that works when others won't plus skill quality and dependability won't let you down skill saw chainsaws to do it with bears have their first first down of the afternoon at the 38-yard line following a 41-yard punt by dave green bob avellini the quarterback peyton and harper the running backs and this pair are having themselves quite a season walter payton first man to carry the ball and it's dewey selman on the hit as we look at the offensive line of the bears been slow to get on track this year albrecht jackson neal sorry and licking we might see a lot of lionel antoine today avellini at quarterback harper and payton the running backs and the receivers are james scott and golden richards with a tight end greg latta gain of about two for payton at his second at eight bob avolini number seven throwing at 56.8 percentage but he has given up 10 interceptions harper is hit in the backfield it was dave pair the nose man number 76 dropping harper for a loss and he not only dropped him he smothered him there was no chance for that as they the bears went to a draw which they ran quite a bit last week especially on third down this time they tried it on a second down situation as you look at the tampa bay linebackers and that's probably the fastest set of linebackers in the nfl there's the secondary with white washington and cottony and they've gone to the nickelback situation here on the passing down it's third and eleven after a loss of three cedric brown replaces linebacker cecil johnson avellini has got time up the middle intercepted it is number 34 cedric brown down the sidelines and out at the 19-yard line of chicago and a perfectly timed interception he read that play intended for lata all the way johnny yes it was and avalini had plenty of protection just a three-man rush time to throw the ball and he just didn't see cedric brown as he was trying to hit greg latta and brown takes it down and tampa bay has the first break down deep in chicago bear territory the interception plagues the bears again their 12th of the season it was avellini who knocked brown out down there after a 33-yard return in tampa bay with first down at the 19 of chicago in motion comes morris owens of flankers to give us to ricky bell bell is hit inside the 20. a good hit slashing through look like number 53 tommy hart you were right tim tommy hart crashed across that line and busted up that end run before it even got started he had three blockers out in front and it's a good thing that hart got through as far as the bears are concerned because he might have had some running room so tampa bay so far has not been able to move the ball at all in their first series and of course the first play of this series so the bear defense has risen to the occasion so far but the game is young and tampa bay has that first break loss of two second and twelve wide left is owens wide right is frank grant number 83. ricky bell hit at the line of scrimmage by reeves number 57 he got to the 20-yard line that's just maybe at the 19 they'll give them the original line of scrimmage don reeves getting the chance to play because of the injury to tom hicks he did a nice job that time as he sneaked through the line came in from behind and brought that play down before it got started reeves will be taking the defensive signals from buddy ryan on the sidelines and with hicks out uh it's big responsibility for for don reeves three wide receivers in for our tampa bay now as ricky bell is alone running back third down a little more than 10. williams complete demoris owens at the five and he scrambles for the two before huckenstein was able to pull him down with help from doug plank and so a first down for the bucks in scoring territory let's take a look at it as williams has plenty of time he's in shallow underneath the coverage by plank the free man takes the pass owens had caught 18 passes going in is down to the two yard line and they found the hole in the bearer defense in the defensive backfield in underneath the safety 17-yard gain first down at the two for tampa bay johnny davis and lewis carter are the running backs carter number 32 in motion goes owens straight ahead is davis and he is close to that goal line buck says in the officials have not yet signaled a score stacked up by the middle of the bears front brad shearer was in there on the goal line defense and muckenstern number 58 and last to get up osborne 68 at the bottom of that pile and they stopped them short it's about the one foot line second and goal the bear defense on the spot here's a tampa bay team that uh won two games in their first two years they were two and 26. and now this year they're three and four chance to go 500 if they win this ball game what a what a turnaround [Applause] the bucks second and goal johnny davis stopped at the goal line again the buck signaling touchdown but it looked from our angle which is not the best in the stadium i might add but it looked like they stopped him and they did they're down coming up now you can see the entire submarine by the bear defensive line and he is jammed up by two or three players in there and it did appear to be very close but as you can see the referees are able to distinguish between an inch or two inches ron right out number 76 at the bottom of that pile put the first hit on them third and they're about the one inch line touchdown tampa bay ricky bell opens the scoring for the buccaneers and the interception by cedric brown set it all up they just sent both backs with davis leading the way and bell followed him into the end zone this time a good hole good blocking by the right side of the offensive line and tampa bay has the lead six nothing here's another look at it the bears submarine there's not much else they can do and in he goes for the touchdown it'll be neil o'donoghue attempting the point after dave green the holder and no good it is no good well that could turn out to be a big point in a game between teams with strong defenses like tampa bay and the bears so the buccaneers have opened the scoring with the interception by cedric brown setting up a ricky bell touchdown and that's how it stands with 8 27 remaining first period [Music] [Music] [Music] whenever the good times are moving to right here after the work is done while you're still having fun the king appears it's waiting for your call when you say you said it all sock city storm malls midwest get to know where he's sleeping tonight he's sleeping in the living room like mom like me the sunday movie at 9 8 central and mountain let's take a look at o'donnell he was kicked no real pressure from the middle or from the right it came from the left so that shouldn't affect this kick and he just hooked it on over and missed it by about a foot on the left side of the crossbar he's got 18 feet six inches to put it in and he didn't do it kind of shanked the wedge shot on that one and donna hughes kickoff is a good one at the goal line it's lenny waltersheid number 23 after the 23 yard line got back to his number and was popped there by number 46 danny reese so the bears will start again danny reese real important special teams players down there very fast let's watch him number 46 he's got to get through the wedge here and he apparently does because he put on a booming tackle here and hit waltershide in full stride right around the shoulders and down he went danny reese has been very valuable to tampa bay it's a good kick returner himself danny reese they're top punt man he's high up in the nfc it's first down for chicago the ball at their own 23 harper and peyton the running backs walter payton harper pardon me 35 walder out on the left side and harper going straight ahead and a gain of about five on the play second and five for the bears dave pair on the tackle 19 yards in six plays for the tampa bay score ricky bell got it it followed the interception by cedric brown the pass from bob avellini this is peyton peyton hit behind the line of scrimmage worked his way over for a gain of maybe a yard yard and a half dave lewis the linebacker number 57 put the final stop on him and it was dewey selman 61 who got an arm on him and really knocked him off stride he did gain 100 yards against tampa bay last year when the bears won 10 to nothing i believe it was but it took him 33 carries to get it tampa bay pride themselves and not letting people gain 100 yards against him only two have done that in the team's history against tampa bay third down three to go there's at their own 30. peyton is going to be close but appears to be short leroy selma number 63 and richard wood the linebacker 54 on the tackle and they had a safety blitz that time they brought cotney right up in the line c33 get in that line there too many guys to block and cottony knocks off the remaining backs block and then there's the tackle by tampa bay so they took a chance went in with the all out blitz and it worked so the bears will have to punt this telecast is presented by authority of the national football league intended for the private use of our audience any rebroadcast or other use of the telecast without the express written consent of the tampa bay buccaneers in the national football league is prohibited bob parsons hits it from his 24-yard line waiting for it is danny reese at the tampa 30. reese gets away from waltershide still drawing over the 40 to the 42-yard line before he stopped at number 52 the center dan neal and we just had talked about danny reese's value he is a fine punt returner danny reese with an average of 13.7 yards of carry-on punt returns [Music] uh-oh that tv show we want to watch goes on in five minutes america stop rushing your life away just to catch a tv show get a sony betamax video recorder and automatically videotape waltershire was right there he still refused to fair catch and got some yardage out of it sometimes that's great and sometimes it can be uh what's a can be better word dangerous or dumb but anyway it was brilliant that time he's a tough customer 511 190 third-year man from usc a 38-yard punt an 11-yard return just under his average first down buccaneers they lead it six nothing they have it at their 42-yard line ricky bell straight ahead osbourne left defensive tackle put the stop on him here's an early score the st louis cardinals who knows they might win their first game they're leading the jets seven nothing in the first quarter jim oda scored for st louis detroit in front of san diego seven to nothing in the first period 9 46 remaining san diego playing at detroit today second down seven to go bell and davis the running backs giles a tight end and motion is owens back toward the ball this is johnny davis off tackle left hartenstein put the stop on him but he got about three it'll bring up third and uh let's call it about third and three so the buccaneer staying on the ground in this series so far for avellini his 11th interception that led to the bucks touchdown and it was a fine one by cedric brown they put the nickel defense in five defensive backs and brown sneaking in front of greg latta handing avellini's 11th interception third down tampa bay we're in the first period this is bell hit inside the line of scrimmage good stop on the play by hartenstein again and over there to help out with linebacker gary campbell number 59. very little if any gain on the play they're going to give him a body yard but it'll be fourth down dave green will come in to make the first tampa punt of the day i'd say we have a full house here down in tampa over 70 000 fans the tampa bay buccaneers are third in the league in attendance this year so they support their football team down here and they could very easily be 4-3 last week they were hit by 10 points in the last quarter and lost to the giants 17 to 14 and two turnovers in the fourth period cost from that game both these teams have been troubled by turnovers green hits it from his own 40. walter scheid takes it on the fly goes out of bounds at the 25-yard line just kind of diving out there and to meet him was aaron brown and rick bonus reserve linebackers 55 and 53. and so the bears will start first down from their own 25-yard line when we return to very sunny stadium in tampa bay dad what are we gonna get to grandma's dad are we gonna get to grandma's darn i forgot to put in press stone take out the old put in the tube protect against freeze-ups and corrosion take out old weak antifreeze and put in america's most trusted antifreeze press stone two and when you flush your cooling system use prestone super flash it was a long hard run but i finally won now it's all behind got blue ribbon on my mind i've got perhaps blue ribbon on my mind it's a lot to look forward to [Music] next saturday at 4 30 cbs sports spectacular presents the phoenix 150 which will determine the 1978 usac driving champion usa you saw it on cbs sports 32-yard punt by dave green a yard return by waltershi first down bears are trailing six to nothing 4 10 remaining first period tim ryan with johnny morris at tampa stadium roland harper got about three running behind jackson the left guard and dewey selma number 61 the linebacker with the tackle the bears kind of got their running game going last week with payton gaining 157 yards but they've been plagued by a lot of penalties especially in passing situations but the offensive line uh had oh i don't know how many holding penalties last week i think it was six and they said that kind of tends to make them tinnity they're going to have to kind of get out of that mike cobb comes in at tight end replacing latta this is walter payton trying a wide side and the bucks string it out real well dave pair the nose tackle just ranged along the line of scrimmage and stop peyton from turning up field the book let's take a look at the bucks they have those fast linebackers you're going to see dewey selman right now number 61 watch him string the string the run along the sidelines he gets away from the block from dennis lick and he's there in case payton had gotten up field a yard or two and you could see there were four tampa bay buccaneers over towards the sidelines along with that run so with that three-man front that they use and mobile linebackers it's a good defense to stop a guy like peyton third down five to go avellini wants to throw he slips away from one sack dry now he's going to run it avelini has a first down out to the 38-yard line a flag is down on the play first of the day it was dave pair on the tackle and avelini with some nifty movement there under pressure from the rush leroy salman leading it got away and got a first down let's see what the call is as we watch leroy selman okay they put on a three-man rush here comes leroy number 63 ted albrecht is blocking on him he does get penetration here two men blocking on him and he forces ability out of the pocket he that's what you call a harassment and forces him to run and avellini does it and does a pretty good job of getting down field and finally brought down but there is a penalty well i'm not sure what the call was johnny they it looked like they were signaling it against tampa bay and it must have been a five yarder because the bears have just declined it and taken first down where avelini got to and that's at the 38-yard line of chicago first down pass complete to james scott into tampa territory at the 46-yard line mike washington the cornerback number 40 on the coverage with help from cedric brown another first down for the bears i'm not even sure washington touched him on that pass here here we take a look now is aveline at the fake the play-action pass it was low probably put his hand on him yeah he got him there on the legs otherwise james get up and run just to make sure you never know what's going to happen the fish you're going to say he didn't tackle him san diego has come back to tie detroit 7-7 with 8 38 remaining first period dan fouts to lydell mitchell harper and payton the split backs this is wilder payton trying wide right he's got a turn there up field he gains about five before he's knocked out at the 43-yard line of tampa bay cedric brown number 34 forcing him out second and five for the bears you see walter's statistics 161 carries 660 yards and he says he wants to carry more he loves to carry that ball well that came up this past week in chicago following the denver game and i think it was pointed out to walter that he's carried the ball about as much this year as he did last year even though the bears are passing more second and five right at the line of scrimmage roland harper is met by dave pair and dave puts his hand up and says i got him i got him he has been tough there in the middle of that line the bear is going to have to control him to get some line from some yardies from tackle to tackle he's right over the center number 76 he throws away dan neal on that play and makes the tackle good play by dave pair and you've got to control that nose man if you're going to run anywhere in the interior part of that line mike cobb has joined greg latta double tight ends for the bears third down maybe four and a half to go it's close to five big play here to keep the drive alive walter payton goes to the right side gets a good block is he short of the first down he got to the 40-yard line and it's going to be close richard wood pushed him out review sorry springing him around the corner but good recovery by richard wood the linebacker to prevent him from going farther up field and he's well short it's going to be third in the yard fourth in the yard pardon me they haven't flipped the marker yet fourth down and the bears will punt parsons standing at his 46-yard line bears brought the honey bears along today for a road trip provide a little inspiration parsons angling for the sideline and it comes back with the wind dating it into the end zone and the bucks will start first down from their own 20. the win is going to be a factor for both the punters and the passers here this afternoon it is quite brisk 40-yard punt for parsons first down bucks at their own 20. well the nba begins its season on cbs believe it or not next friday at 11 30 eastern time and you will see either of these two games washington at golden state milwaukee at seattle and so both of the finalists involved in our first action the nba on cbs for the world champion washington bullets against golden state and milwaukee taking on seattle consult your local listings for the game and time in your area first down bucks screen out the right side that is frank grant being swarmed under first man to hit him was doug buffon number 55. reeves was there also and he was out there ahead of his blockers on the pass the quick screen to the wide receiver and watch him wait this is his first reception as a tampa bay buccaneer he waits for carlton number 70 to come out to kick the defensive back schmidt out of the way and then turns inside the block and got some yardies for tampa bay actually well executed and then the bears came in and made him earn that reception with a nice hit gain of nine second and one ricky bell good hole for bell he has a first down for the bucks the phone on the tackle pinching in from the outside linebacker position and don reeves got a piece of them as well first down bucks as time expires here ending the first period at tampa bay stadium with the bucks leading at six to nothing [Music] i'm not gambling with my safety this winter i just put a cb aging you know you're very observatory there's perfection in the art of brewing cultural trait dating back some 8 000 years obliviously you're a man of extinction and dignity oh yeah hey mama have a nature and here's what made that play go watch don reeves the middle linebacker get up in the in the line there to make it a five-man front steve wilson the center straightens him up right there and then here comes the bell he gets position on reeves and it was buffon number 55 that made the stop but not before he was able to get through the main thrust of the line there john mckay told us yesterday steve wilson has been one of his very best offensive linemen he's been doing a real good job in the middle of the offensive line first down bucks williams wants to throw incomplete intended for mucker off the mark mike spivey number 47 on the coverage he had to turn back for the ball and couldn't get a handle on it second down it was just a little bit off target and if you don't think there's a couple of players on the spot mike spivey terry schmidt who are replacing two first stringers livers and ellis that are out each week the everybody talks about the backup cornerbacks but overall they really have performed fairly well for chicago thrust into the lineup frank grant is in to make three wide receivers bell lalone running back on second down and they give to bell trying to make the turn good tackle by gary fencic coming up from a safety spot number 45 and bell got about three that was a simple low body block tackle by gary fencic no arms no head no hands he just threw the body block on him as he comes up 45 one on one bell and fencing and he really dumps him that's the way you block on offense sometimes you can miss him that way but when you get them right it looks like a classic in a tight end for giles bucks send their plays in with the wide receivers and the tight ends all the plays are sent in to young doug williams a rookie from grambling he wants to throw again and he was hit just as he released the ball somebody wrapped him on the arm hartenstein had the heat on him and bruce herron the extra linebacker number 51 almost had himself an interception for the bears pretty good coverage downfield by the bears you can see the three-man rush with osbourne here's hartenstein on this side and tommy hart 53 coming from the top side but it was heartenstein who put most of the pressure on him and said excuse me afterwards so the bucks will have to punt green's standing on his own 20. deep man is steve schubert waiting at the 22-yard line of chicago a low line drive kind of punt takes a tampa bounce but it's still well up at the 30. schubert gets out to the 40-yard line and the bears will get good position here following the punt by dave green not his best effort of the day or the season randy johnson down to make the tackle number 65. a 35-yarder a 10-yard return by steve schubert so the bears will start from their 40 as they try to get something going here in the second quarter [Music] [Applause] now some of the best movies on television aren't on television they're on select division the four-hour video cassette recorder from rca because now with the team this week and enjoying their visit to sunny florida and i indicated they should be a source of inspiration to the chicago bears right now they haven't uh had much result with the score six nothing in favor of tampa play action aveline on first down lots of time can't find the open man now throws it off to peyton he's got jackson ahead of him and looks to have the first down yardage noah jackson reacted extremely well out there as payton the release man got the pass and it looks like they got the first down nice ad-lib by bob avolini he was trying to find james scott and scott was fairly well covered not enough picture he isn't but now he's got to come back and throw a block and i don't can't tell is that james yes it is james nice going james wide receivers always have been the best blockers johnny morris our wide receiver in the booth first down bears as they move it into the bucks territory at the 48 13-yard gain avelini to peyton play action again avellini now pressured and dropped behind the line of scrimmage boss maybe a yard on the play as it was dave pair the nose tackle again and what a pickup he proved to be on the veteran allocation draft from baltimore fourth year man from the university of washington bucks had three first downs to two for the bears in the first period johnny they were going for scott again that time and washington uh had him very well covered you might uh one might think that he might go for golden riches here the way they're covering on on scott all right it is second down and 11 to go as they dropped avellini for a one-yard loss slot formation right play action again sideliner complete james scott forced out of bounds by jairus white the left corner number 45 and he has first down yardage again the bears on the move we talked about pair number 76 as he put some penetration on here he's a little late getting there as avalina gets the pass off but then he says i'm going to get there one way or another and avelina didn't even see the completion but it was complete first down chicago bears at the 36-yard line of tampa bay the bucks lead it six to nothing 13 17 remaining in the first half tim ryan and johnny morris here at campus stadium roland harper and hair and leroy silman meet him right at the line of scrimmage harper muscled his way for maybe two second at eight both these teams have had their injury problems we mentioned ellis and virgil livers corners both out of action ellis gone for the year of course weyman bryant on injured reserve along with walt patulski who never got to training camp and the bucks have had more than their share of injury several in the last couple of weeks including jimmy dubose our leading rusher avellini incomplete intended for payton tried to one-hand it as he had to stretch for the ball had a man right on him that was linebacker richard wood number 54. third down last week in this kind of a situation the bears ran draw lates and draws with payton now we see another third and nine situation let's see what the chicago bears will call this time mention those bucks injuries along with the bows isaac hagan's wide receiver's gun he was a starter starter guard kurt schumacher hurt gone for the year back up tight in albus darby back up center brett moore so they've had their injury problems third down complete to james scott at the 20. a good move scott's got lots of room scott will score touchdown chicago bears fine move by scott after he caught the ball he eluded two defenders and they've tied it up at six good play by the chicago bears as scott went down and did the turn in and he had inside outside coverage and actually beat both men as he came to the inside the pass is right on the numbers and they both missed and then scott once he gets open you're not going to catch him as he cro rolls into the end zone the chicago bears have tied the game six all a chance to take the lead now white and brown were the defenders as we get a little fancy spike from james scott in the end zone of tampa bay bob thomas's point after is good and chicago has taken the lead by a score of seven to six abellini's 34-yard pass play linking up with james scott and the point after has the bears in front we have 12 28 remaining first half chicago 7 and tampa bay 6. from the sierras to the smokies people are discovering what makes the great spike up in the air slam hesitate and then just drop it james does he work that practice oh he doesn't on the basketball he can just stuff that ball all right thomas kicks it off the bear is in front by one that missed point after by adani who is the margin it's taken by reese reese gets away from one man is pulled down inside the 30. john skibinski the rookie running back from purdue made the tackle for chicago and it was good that skobinski was there as far as the bears are concerned because reece could have gone a long way look at this the giants in front of washington ten to nothing in the second period the redskins beaten by a tough philadelphia eagles team a week ago for their first defeat and that's going to make that eastern division all the more interesting skins six and one going into the action today the giants four and three in the nfc east first down bucks williams wants to throw swings it out ricky bell close to the first down the phone on the hit and terry schmidt number 44. and gary fencic missed the tackle and hurt himself in the process i don't know how seriously but watch williams drill the ball to bell then comes fencing up for the tackle and he'll miss and then hurty's arm he's still in the game though but right there he missed the tackle and bell is finally hit by buffone but a nice play by the tampa bay buccaneers fencic has gone to the sidelines walter shot in to replace him number 23. there is ricky bell the number one pick a year ago from usc second and a yard davis breaks one tackle and is stopped right at the line of scrimmage and it'll depend on where they mark the ball i think he got the first down buffon the man to wrap him number 55 played in more bear games than any other chicago player this is his what 163rd yep that's equivalent to one baseball season that's an interesting way of looking at it he's had him spread out over a 13-year career since leaving louisiana lsu obradovich in for giles tight end for the bucks they got the first down and a little screen lots of room fell all the way to the 41-yard line let's see what they market the 39 of the chicago bears walter shy the man to finally get him out i think the buccaneers have found a weakness out there in the flat with the remaining back on this kind of a situation because bell was open all day and everybody was downfield his blockers got out front he gets away from spivey and is finally knocked out of bounds by waltersheid a good play maybe on normal run situations maybe not in a passing situation though 22-yard gain and a good block by 64 greg horton the guard acquired from the rams earlier this season bell trying the middle gets inside the 35 the bucks moving the ball impressively on this drive picked up about four maybe five we'll call it second and six doug williams four out of seven today so far don reeves made that tackle for the bears williams coming into the game with an unimpressive 37.1 passing percentage but he has had a lot of drops number 53 lined off offside defense first down tommy hart he lined up offsides usually uh a lot of officials will tell him man if he's just lined up that he's lined up offsides but i guess they didn't tell him i guess not first and five a break for the bucks [Applause] bell swarmed under by osborne number 68. it was osborne who made the tackle and you're going to see a flying a missile number 46 doug plank come in right here and hit osborne didn't hit the man carrying the ball but he got his hit he's gotten a little trouble last week with what was called a a late hit a cheap shot but in looking at the video tape it was not doug plank is a rough tough football player but that was not a late hit fencing is back into the game so he's apparently all right and motion goes owens for tampa bay on second and five williams up the middle almost intercepted by spivey number 47. it was intended for giles at tight end number 88 and mike spivey nearly got the interception back cedric brown has already picked one off for tampa doug williams could have run a long way on this play he's behind carlton but he thought he saw giles open and fired that ball but mike spivey came over from the backside almost had an interception but williams chose to throw it rather than run and he could have run for at least 10 or 15 yards spivey says i'm going to get it next time next time jerry munsterm in for reeves and it's third and five in the first period the bucks converted two of four third down conversions the pressure from osborne he gets it away complete larry mukher it took three bears to bring him down but he has the first down where they're going to mark forward progress at the 22-yard line of chicago well the bucks wanted to throw out in the flat again but this time in a passing situation it's not going to work they're going to have somebody out there there's tommy hart out there blocking off so williams had to ad-lib and the quickness and the speed that he has the agility to get out of that cup and get away and his strong arm enabled him to hit mucker who came back and ad-libbed his pattern and got a first down for the tampa bay buccaneers it was finally fencic who was able to bring him down and then several other bears led by muckenstern got in on the act but it's first down tampa bay threatening once more they trail seven to six lot formation left that's davis it was a big hole but it closed rather well and it looked like hartenstein number 73 was the guy who got there recovering to fill that hole well that was a good defensive play by the bears because there was a hole and he didn't hit it quite quick enough and the bears closed it up with the reactions to the ball carrier good play by the bear defense buffalo leads cincinnati three-nothing in the second period and in that washington giants game it is 10 to seven pardon me that is 10 to nothing still for the giants over the washington redskins this is ricky bell and look at him drive inside the 15. gary campbell and don reeves on the tackle but bell dragged a couple of people with him doug flank got in there too for the bears that's pretty good blocking by the buccaneers just straight power blocking and they just moved him back and power running i should say more than power blocking steve wilson the center number 79 leading the charge jets lead st louis ten to seven in that game 10 57 remaining in the half here's bell another good hole inside the tin gary fencic the safety had to put the tackle on him meddling and wilson and carlton doing a good job in the right side blocking and that's a sure sign when the safeties are having to make a lot of tackles that they're getting some holes there as he got through the nice hole by the right side of the tampa bay line and upcoming fencing to make the tackle the safeties are making a lot of tackles for chicago it is first down tampa bay just inside the tent of chicago an impressive drive for the bucks against a good tough defense and motion is morris owens johnny davis straight ahead gets near the five yard line jim osborne number 68 the tackler for the bears nellie run both sides of that line rather effectively on this drive greg horton and dave revis guard and tackle on the left side yes you can see the block there by horton or 64's he's pushing his man out and haven't this team hasn't improved offensively last year they couldn't buy a touchdown they could you never saw a drive like this last year they've improved offensively this week lewis carter is in it running back for bell in motion is owens that is davis again davis batters his way to the two-yard line running right at the heart of the bear's defensive line hardenstein on the tackle and the buck's grinding it out and this is not something that you ordinarily see from this team they've been struggling offensively but a little bit of improvement each outing giles comes in at tight end bell comes back into the backfield he's got two tight ends in now and the bears have brought in some replacements for that goal line defense ron reidelch comes in with his third down the ball at the two-yard line louis carter has stopped right at the line of scrimmage buckenstorm got his shoe tops and then a couple of the heavyweights got on top of him as he went down looks like he has the first down to me well that's the big question we're just waiting here to see how they mark it he's got it he's got it carlton the lead block on that play [Applause] well i guess he doesn't have it it sure looks like it to me fourth down they have not flipped that marker he is just short ricky bell and he has stopped behind the line the bears may have come up with an outstanding goal line stand and they have they stopped the first down they had to get just outside the one for the first down and the bucks fail to do it at the bottom of that pile the last man up coming in from the safety spot gary fencic [Music] pulling him back as you can see it there there's fencic saying you're going no farther so the bears with a great job stop the bucks [Music] they came from every state in america by car by bus some even on foot the roads backed up for over 50 miles the crowds didn't deter them nor the mud the rain the discomfort because for the nearly half million people who came here on august 9 1969 only one thing mattered music freedom freedom pioneer we understand how much music means to people so we design our high fidelity components not to add anything or take anything away but to recreate all the excitement of a live performance that's what's made us number one today with people who care about music pioneer we bring it back alive the bears start the ball well the bears stopped the bucks but boy it sure looked close uh john and uh it is first down for chicago i don't know why they didn't measure i know it's a great goal line stand but it still looks like it was a first down for tampa bay to me there were two uh two downs where it looked very close and they didn't measure on either one but the bears did the job and they are now in the shadow of their goal line trying to get out it's walter payton payton worms his way up near the five yard line gain of about three lewis the linebacker and white the cornerback 57 and 45 combining on the tackle greg latin dennis licht doing the blocking on the right side and so chicago comes up tough here as they were being faced with a very impressive offensive drive by the buccaneers grinding it out and they got right down to close to the one yard line they needed to get almost to the one for the first down and could not do it it is second and about seven peyton cutting back gets over the five to the seven yard line let's take a look at dewey selma number 61. as he plays off a block noah jackson straightens him up payton finds a hole here and dewey gets in on the tackle the main hit was by number 33 mark cotney who got up there very quick to stop peyton john you know we may have made much ado about nothing the way those markers were over there it appeared that they needed to get near the one but we are informed that they were first and goal from the nine on that drive so the fourth down stop that we were looking at on the far side of the field was really irrelevant they just had to stop them outside the goal line avalina overthrown by about three yards and he was open you're right johnny down that sideline scott with that great speed and avelini sure had plenty on the ball but just a little overthrown and that had to be 60 yards in the air scott had run a an out and then went straight up the field and avelina did throw that ball a long ways explain to me what happened on that last situation again well the official statistician uh looking back at the where that drive was indicates first and goal from the nine yard line for tampa bay so the fourth down play was not for a first down parsons will have to punt from the end zone gets it away and waiting out at the 46-yard line danny reese one handing it gets in over the 40-yard line and the bucks will start with good field position again at the 38-yard line of chicago and so the bucks prevent the bears from coming out and they will start again with 3 42 remaining in the first half trailing by a point [Music] come fly with me in one magnificent flying machine the 79 thunderbirds i love its luxurious you'll say you saw it on cbs sports 41-yard punt a 10-yard return the buccaneers inside chicago territory the ball at the 38-yard line of the bears doug williams the young quarterback fake draw and williams alludes one tackle sliding into the 32-yard line fencic is there to cover him and williams picked up about seven it'll be second and three well he faked everybody out looked like he'd almost released the ball here as he comes back it's can't find anybody open and then the arm and hangs onto the ball and he'll put a nifty move on don reeves here number 57 who comes up for the tackle comes back to the inside and is finally well i don't know if he was tackled he went down in there if he had given the ball to bell on the draw he would have had a lot of real estate that was wide open up the middle now he does give to bell but he's met by gary campbell number 59 right at the line of scrimmage he got maybe a yard with forward progress a little mix up on the handoff between bell and williams i think williams thought he was coming to the other side here and they got a little bit mixed up and that kind of uh ruined the timing as gary campbell was in on the tackle seven to six chicago leads to tim ryan and johnny morris at tampa stadium temperatures in the 80s they're quite windy and it has played somewhat of a role in the passing and punting game owens and grant the wide receivers williams he's got room to run [Applause] and looks to have the first down see where they mark it and he can run the ball that's one of his great assets to think there are a lot of teams that passed him up in the first round finally he just turns on the speed gets enough for the first down and he's learned fast rookie quarterback out of bounds no contact 26 yard line of chicago the bucks threatening again they were stopped at the goal line actually at the one on their last drive as the bears really rose up down there and stopped three short plunges good defensive play by hartenstein and then in come plank and campbell to drop johnny davis back to the 30-yard line a loss of four there were a lot the score remains the bears seven to six this fresh egg is going to help us sell this brand new free flex shoe from freeman watch you can do it with any new freeman free this fresh egg is going to help us sell this brand new free flex shoe from freeman [Music] watch you can do it with any new freeman free flex [Music] see freeman's shoes at fine stores everywhere inspector i have the clues meet me in a silver mercedes outside 79 ford granada an american classic sometimes confused with a mercedes inspector are you sure you're in a mercedes oh one good way to tell granada is by its sticker price there's the scoreboard here as we look at john mckay ranging the sidelines in front of his coaching staff and he's got to be happy with his team's performance in this game so far johnny two minutes remaining first half even though they're down by a point they have played very strongly karen an extra linebacker is in osbourne the tackle is out defensively second and twelve look at the running room complete touchdown jim obradovich the tight end number 86 and excellent play a super pass from the rookie doug williams and tempa is in front and you hit it right on the head tim he was on the run got outside could have run 20 yards down the field wound up that strong arm of his and hit him right on the nose and he was on the run when he threw the ball and there's obradovich behind the chicago defense what a classic play touchdown tampa bay neil o'donoghue will attempt the point after he missed his first try and it looks like did he get that one yes he did [Applause] hard to tell again from here as he kind of hooked that in a little closer than he wanted to but that one is good the bucks have taken a six-point lead 13-7 let's see that play again it's a beauty there just aren't a lot of quarterbacks who could throw that far that accurate accurately on the run like he was good catch too fingertip catch by obradovich over terry schmidt and there's plank the safety coming over to help out but both of them a little late obradovich had them beat 28-yard pass play as the bucks went 38 yards and five plays to take a 13-7 lead we have 154 remaining here in the first half and a reminder that next week on the sports spectacular the phoenix 150 a shootout between al unser and defending usac national champion tom sniva for the usac national championship 4 30 eastern time for unser to win the national title sniva has to finish worst intent but cars do break down that kickoff goes out of bounds just inside the 10-yard line so donahue has been uh having some problems keeping the ball straight here he's gonna get to try it again but from five yards farther back everything is to the left for him you know we were talking to john mccain he said that he's so encouraged about the possibilities for his offense it's starting to gel together he said for the first two years our offense looked like we were running a draw play every time he's got a great sense of humor and it sustained them through the first couple of years yes the kicking team re-kicked five yards the illegal procedure is the call the ball also went out of bounds they're going back to the 30-yard line 28-yard touchdown pass from williams to obradovich look at this score detroit is really sticking it to san diego it's 24-7 detroit in the second quarter wenford gains for the bears from his seven yard line up the sideline gets some room and a good return out to the 34-yard line of the chicago bears for the recently acquired defensive back winford gaines mike levinseller the new wide receiver and neil o'donoghue the kicker over there to push him out of bounds so now the chicago bears take over and the best part of their game so far has been the passing attack let's see if they stick with it and go because so far tampa bay hasn't had much help from their linebackers as far as the passing game is concerned it's been mostly the receivers are getting down field and having some room and no obstruction in front of them richard's wide right scott wide left everybody out there's walter payton complete and still moving what a move walter payton in the open field finally mark washington mike washington takes him out at the 40-yard line of tampa and you saw some walter payton there what a great move he made after he caught the ball that time the linebackers all were way back and he came in underneath the linebackers as avelini spotted him and here comes the move right here walter with the old hand grab notice how he carries that ball and here it is the push off and he had him all stopped going the wrong direction finally only washington was able there to prevent him from going for a touchdown because golden richards was in position walter payton puts the bears in tampa bay territory all right it is first down bears swing out to harper he gets away from one man and now just barrels over the 35 to the 33-yard line of tampa 127 left on the clock dave lewis made the tackle and that's why roland harper i still maintain could be the best heavy duty fullback in the nfl because he can get out and dodge people aside from running over them he never misses a block he blocks for walter payton he does everything all right we have a moment here to mention that our audience in the philadelphia area i hope you're enjoying this game you may be wondering about philadelphia dallas it'll be coming to you shortly so stay with us here as the bucks and the bears have an all-important nfc central game going and shortly you'll be seeing philadelphia dallas we are so informed and uh avellini over there with the bears brain trust yes talking with coach neil armstrong mike phipps quarterback there saying when i am i ever going to play that no actually what he's doing he's just listening to stay up on the [Music] situation six yard gain that uh play to peyton was a big one for them because it's got them down in here where they can make something happen in the short time left they are in in the tampa territory at the 33. even though the bears have been losing the last few games avelini's statistics have improved as the season has progressed of course a lot of the throwing and such was sometimes when the bears were out of reach and they had to throw more and made a lot more completions but so far it's done very well minus that one interception that set up a tampa bay touchdown javelina is six of nine for 107 yards so far in this first half wide left is richards wide right as scott avellini falls but here's harper harper inside the 20. forced out inside the 10 at the nine yard line of tampa great effort by harper lionel antoine is hurt but that was quite a play because avelini went down he got tripped up and i don't think harper even thought he had the ball he looked back he said where's the ball it was on his hip and then he cut back to the outside and got a nice gain to put the bears down but lionel antoine is down on the ground and probably let's hope it's not his knee 24-yard gain for roland harper who really improvised well is that the ball was very difficult for him to get a good grip on on the handoff as avelini tumbled jairus white finally pushed him out of bounds and the bears have 114 left and right now their concern is for the injured lionel antoine but he's up on his feet and apparently all right next week on cbs st louis at philadelphia san francisco at washington detroit at chicago regional coverage on the cbs sports network the giants will be in new orleans tampa bay at green bay check your local listings for the game and time in your area first down chicago at the nine yard line that's right at the nine yard line first down that means they got four downs to get to the end's goal that's right and let's see where the guy with a marker stands this time because he just gave us fits on the last the last effort at the other end there's the clock 114 remaining albrecht is in for antoine albrecht started the game but antoine was expected to get some work today okay he's way out of the area this time marker down that's it he took the marker away all right first and goal slot formation left knocked down at the line of scrimmage intended for a man open it was wally chambers the ex-bear knocking it down [Applause] and it was roland harper who was alone in the end zone yes roland jumped up and down three or four times he was so open there wasn't anybody within 10 yards and you can see the deflection to prevent the completion good play by tampa bay a clutch play because the bears had a cinch touchdown there was a mistake in the coverage and harper was wide open do you think wally chambers enjoyed making that play yes i'm sure he did big number 60 the ex-bear getting his start today and he's been in and out of there with hannah [Applause] second in goal bucks lead it 13-7 we've got 110 remaining first half abellini lots of time now he's pressured out and he's pulled down there is not a man open dave pair he did the right thing there to eat that follow john i got a quick glance into the end zone there was nobody open and you have to give credit to the tampa bay defensive backfield and linebackers they they covered well because avelini couldn't find anybody and pair just kept fighting and kept fighting and fighting got by noah jackson finally and avelini almost was going to throw the ball here and he said i'd better think better of it and down in that position at the 20-yard line it was probably a correct decision as you said tim so it is third down and long second sack by dave pair in the game the ball up to 22 third down sometimes you get a little better pass play from here than you do in tight anyway they're gonna run at harper with lots of room what a play inside the five roland harper to the four yard line he has just been looking better and better every week and what a tandem he and payton provide a nice little surprise play by chicago when they work it looks great and there he goes just turns on the speed good blocking by rivie story that time he gets away from the tackle by david lewis finally brought down but the bears will have a fourth down situation on the four harper couldn't quite get into the end zone time ticking down and finally timeout is called by the bears and they've got one play to go and it looks like that field goal unit coming on harper has rushed for 53 yards on seven carries and he nearly had himself a touchdown there a saving tackle by jairus white and cedric brown after he had broken a couple on route to the four-yard line of tampa bay tomorrow night on cbs my favorite new show of the season wkrp in cincinnati pretty funny show enjoy this hot new comedy followed by people spotlighting wonder woman linda carter the electric light orchestra superstar diana ross paul newman and others lots of people on people mash one day at a time and lou grant round out tomorrow night's top television lineup here on cbs they crowd in a lot of stuff in that half hour on people i love that wkrp field goal try from the 10. a 20-yard attempt by bob thomas six seconds on the clock thomas is up and good and he is now 10 for 11 on the season and the bears put three on the board and so the score with three seconds remaining in this first half the bucks 13 and the bears 10. and neil armstrong giving bob thomas the kickoff instructions here they sure don't want to run back here with three seconds left here in the first half and this has been a good well-played football team game by both teams you got to like rolling harper that drop play worked well for the bears against denver but it was walter payton getting to carry the ball a little more in that game johnny on monday night and this time they gave it to harper and nearly came up with the major score well the draw play it depends on your situation how many yards you have to go if it's third and twenty or or third and ten or third and twelve i think has an awful lot to do with the draw play you're going to get yardage a lot of times on it but many times not enough in this situation they got a lot and got down there and set up the field goal it could come back to hunt the bears at harper didn't quite get into the end zone taking three instead of seven points but still plenty of time to go in this ball game and i'm sure the bear is going to be very cautious here to avoid any kind of a big return by tampa bay alvin maxon is the deep man bob thomas looking at over there's maxson the recently acquired running back number 28. picked up on waivers from the steelers low squib kick they took no chances at all got a good bounce too that's danny reese he's dangerous reese over the 40. pulldown by terry schmidt number 44 did his job out at the 48-yard line and that'll complete play in the first half a very well played first half of football and the tampa bay buccaneers showing some offense to go with their tough defense that's the end of the first half of the score tampa bay 13 the chicago bears 10. jack whitaker so now let's go to report from jack whitaker welcome to central park in the city of new york on a beautiful autumn day and one of the greatest days this great city has ever seen the ninth annual new york city marathon is coming to an end bill rogers about to win his third consecutive title in the women's division a mystery lady number 1173 is leading at this point we don't yet know her name it all began at 10 30 this morning 11 142 men women and children started running on the staten island side of the verrazano bridge an incredible site on this warm autumn morning every state in the union except south dakota was represented as these runners attempted the 26 miles 385 yards of the marathon distance through the five boroughs of the city of new york over 1100 women are competing 1458 lawyers doctors and dentists 71 year old walter stack of san francisco nine-year-old howard brinen of connecticut runners from 28 countries housewives ballet dancers and 4 800 people who have never run in a marathon before make up this joyous group who celebrate the biggest day that running the sport of the 70s has ever seen we are looking down now at the finish line the last 385 yards that they will run as we told you bill rogers the defending champion the record holder for this event he took over the lead at the eight mile mark along with gary bjorkland gary bjorkland and he dueled until 15 miles and now here he comes all by himself an exotic and joyous bill rogers about to wrap up his third consecutive new york city marathon title and listen to this crowd all right here we are with the winner bill rogers is third straight and uh you are mr new york right now oh well it's a pleasure to be that way i'll tell you i it was very intense pace early in the race why was that because of the great competition only one runner well first ian thompson from england and then gary bazaar busted a wide open v too early and i knew that that he was making a mistake it was too early and about 10 miles uh he seemed to suddenly falter and it was from about eight miles to 15 mile in in that stretch right together yeah right around 13 miles 10 12 miles and um we decided we we told each other we'd run with each other for a little while but then i i knew that i was either you know if it had been later on i would have considered tying with them but this way it looked like it might be risky to win so i decided to go on ahead you know what you did was absolutely correct terrific bill congratulations you're you are the hero of this country right now i'll be back next year attaboy back to you now brent all right jack thank you very much jane uh the fastest woman has one come across yet yes greta white's and as a matter of fact her time was a record she came in in two hours 32 minutes and 12 seconds and she was one of those people that was the first at ever running a marathon distance diameter what about four hours since this of course we've had women coming of course of course out in chicago where johnny morris works richard waldow is a sports producer we're going to show you a package that they put together after the dallas washington it was a monday night game and apparently robert neuhaus was tipping the offensive plays for the cowboys this is somewhat tough to see he's the right running back do you see the mouthpiece dangling down as he goes out i know it's tough but every time the mouthpiece was hanging down staubach went back to pass now let's show it to you again now he is coming right at you in motion you see it dangling down it's one of those that's tied up with a face mask there and that meant the starback was going to go back and pass and whenever the mouthpiece was inside the mouth such as this sequence right here the cowboys were coming with a running play now irv could the washington redskins have been picking this up no question brett they could have used that as a key you know many players develop all sorts of characteristics in their running and passing style some players lean one way or the other and oftentimes we'll tip plays now watch last week erv different mouthpiece one that was in for running and for passing plays and the nfl today will continue on cbs right after these messages from your local stations the grass is always greener over the septic tank comes to television starring carol burnett and charles groton a very funny look at life wednesday at 9 8 central and mountain this is cbs tim ryan with johnny morris at tampa stadium where we've got a fine football game halfway completed 13-10 the bucks leading the chicago bears in a must game for both of these teams before the game johnny morris spoke with former bears head coach abe gibran now with tampa bay chicago bear fans are looking at a familiar fame face former chicago bear head coach abe gibran now with the tampa bay buccaneers assisting john mckay and abe i know you went through a couple of rough years but this tampa bay team is very respectable now well we built it from the foundation up we did it john mccain's way in a five-year plan and we think that in three years we can play with anybody and uh we've proven that in our third year what do you think of doug williams you weren't afraid to put a rookie in there and go with him no i think doug williams is the greatest young quarterback to come up in the last 10 years i think that in three or four years he'll be an all-pro and i think that he's the foundation of the basis for our offense to complement our defense and i think this is why we got a much improved football team i understand that you're working him mostly on fundamentals not trying to teach him all the fine points at one time no actually they got a great quarterback coach bill nelson and a great offensive quarter gibbs but all we're doing is teaching him the basics letting him key the area and when he learns to read defenses it'll be tough to stop him are you happy to see wally chambers starting against the chicago bears while he played great against minnesota in our second game started the game for us and has had some knee problem but now the last few weeks he's been healthy and he's played half the game now we're going to give him a chance to play the whole game you were the man who was really behind getting wally chambers are you happy with the deal well i just recommended that he was probably one of the best young football players that i've ever brought into the league or seed come in the league and you don't find people like that in the draft and i think this he's going to prove it to us in the next two years okay abe thanks a lot and best of luck thank you johnny thanks to everybody in chicago johnny morris with abe gibran and he has been a big part of the success of the tampa bay team this season and certainly you can see talking with confidence about the future we'll return to tampa bay in just a moment [Applause] [Music] ever need to rent a car fast nobody has more of what it takes to get you into a new ltd or other fine car faster [Music] there are lots of batteries out there making all kinds of claims performing all kinds of demonstrations we simply say this the jcpenney battery is so powerful it's warranted for as long as you own your car if it ever fails to accept and hold a charge return it with proof of purchase we'll replace it free and it never needs water ever it's the last battery your car will ever need that's my team the chicago bears and i'm rivie sorry and i want to show you why i love chicago it's big and it's busy the crossroads of the continent with the world's tallest building from the top you can look out over america and see the largest inland port in the world watch the planes fly into o'hare feel the busiest in the world but a big city can be a lonely city people can get lost forgotten that's why the united way supports the very personal service of the visiting nurses association they take care of people who can't take care of themselves they're very old and very young the homebound through the visiting nurses at our united way the people of chicago say we care we don't forget you're not alone united way works
