thank you Angelic engineer supplies [Music] thank you [Music] game night hey do you like playing Capture the Flag but you don't want to do any of that pesky actual running around outside well join Nikki Lincoln and myself Dave as we teach and also play Challengers a game for one to eight players uh published by One More Time games and z-man games and designed by Johannes crenner and Marcus slavic's check let's run but not really and get that flag hey Dave hey Lincoln well you teach us Challengers with an exclamation mark okay Challengers okay cool Challengers is I'm it's gonna evoke a lot of Old Time games games that you know capture the flag is sort of what we're doing okay also the card game War from when you were a kid I could see people saying hey let's play Gamers War okay let's get sort of like that but um the gist of it is we have a deck of carts we are all going to start with the same setup deck of cards and the overview is this they're going to be seven rounds and each round we're going to um draw some cards from either the a deck or the B deck or the C deck that is here all right the cdeck cards are in theory more advanced than the B and the B Deck cards are more advanced than the a I use the word Advanced and not necessarily powerful because while the C diff cards are more powerful as far as giving you higher numbers and your ability to win more they're also potentially riskier they could have some whatever you'll see when we get there okay but essentially good better best and we're gonna fine tune Our Deck then after we draw cards we will uh play a match okay um in fact because there are an odd number of players one of the players for our game will be the robot this is the robot deck okay these are extra robot cards we can add to the deck as the game progresses if you want to make the robot harder so we're gonna do that seven times we're gonna tune Our Deck we're gonna drop cards to tune Our Deck we're then going to face off against one of our opponents okay in these two different Parks this being the green leaf Park and the red mushroom park I guess all right um and we're going to do that according to these this little three and four player card that shows us where we play so in round one I face someone in the green leaf Park in rounds two and three I'll be in the mushroom park and then I'll be back in the Green Park and then I'll be in the mushroom park twice and then the Green Park and your cards will be different so that basically we're all going to be up against each other in different combinations okay I have set up the very first round so that Lincoln and Nikki will play each other and then I will play the Robot because that's where we're seated the rules suggest that when you get your new assignments you actually get out of your seat and move around the table and go to other things for various technical reasons that's not going to be as easy or fun for us so we have taken these little markers these little uh giant trailer coins or other coins yeah we're going to use those to represent us so that I can be here or in or on the other side or whatever and and the reason that that's important is that when we play a match which I haven't gotten into yet we're going to be playing cards in the middle but we're going to be discarding cards to the side and what these little six slots they're called benches and again I will get to that so that's the basic overview of the game let's talk about the cards we all start with the same set of six cards we have these three newcomers value one and a talent and a dog and a champion all right values two three and four cards have this little city icon on them that is the deck that they belong to and the reason that that's important is there are other City cards in the a b and c deck and some City cards refer to other City cards and give you advantages or disadvantage advantages mostly based on their City cards there are six different suits let's call City a suit there are six different suits that you add to these decks and you remove one of them so you only play five of the six suits all right we removed one that the rules suggests is that just for three or is it no for all players okay and we removed the one that the rules said don't use this for your first game it's the most sort of complicated suit okay and I have some samples over here so there's this sort of movie clapboard suit there's these bats there's these balloons uh Castle here are two Castle cards and you can see that the names on them sort of relate so like the makeup artist is in the movie Set and the skeleton is in the vendor set I mean the bat set right the jester and the pig are in this Castle set and you'll see that the a cards have text on the bottom so this makeup cart artist for example is value one it has text on the bottom I'll get to that in a second let's find uh here skeleton is good so the skeleton is value two but if you are in flag possession which is to say if you currently own the flag and have captured it then this card has plus one and they're all very self-explanatory the stuff on the bottom of the cards um some of the cards are there's essentially four every card unless it says otherwise so this one at the bottom of the skeleton says that there are eight times so there's eight of these and then some cards say rare there's only three of them okay all right so there's a skeleton this is a vendor this gesture as I said uh here's a pig this is rare times three for example but they all have things that value to your stuff and again before I explain that now let me come back to the gist of how it works okay so let's say here move that robot deck out of the way let's not play the Robot and this is the robot schedule the robot will always be in the Green Park oh okay okay so here's another base set go ahead and put that face down here and the way it works is after you tune your deck um you're going to shuffle whatever your cards are okay and then usually play some face down you have no idea what order they're in all right yeah um we are playing for these Trophies the game is seven rounds and there are seven trophies number one through seven and on the backs of these trophies are these Stars ah you'll note that on the backs of these three Trophies the numbers are not necessarily the same the stars get bigger as the trophies go up I don't know what the range is but my guess is it's probably a range of variants of one or maybe two at most so probably the threes are all threes and fours I didn't look at them all and the stars I believe in the game are called fans and we're trying to get the most fans this is how you get to the end of the game and try to win okay all right so the way it works is for the first round well Whoever has the highest Trophy goes first but in this case no one does so they recommend you flip this flag coin and decide so let's say I go first so I would take my card and I would turn over the first one and I have three so if I'm playing Lincoln Lincoln now is going to turn cards over from his deck one at a time until he reaches three or exceeds it so that's one now you're at four so you I I have the flag sorry so you have captured the flag so you are now at four okay okay two things happen when someone captures the flag the first is that all of the cards underneath this get tucked so I am now currently fighting a three when I fight Lincoln and the second thing is all cards that I have played are discarded to my bench when you discard to a card to a bench it goes in one of the six slots and each slot Can Only Hold one named type of card so for example if I put this dog here then only dogs can go on your slot for the rest of my turn Okay okay so I'm gonna try to beat three newcomer is one Champion is five so I beat you with five but this now becomes four you discard dog and newcomer to two different slots in your bench and um all right newcomer that's three all right you're at four so you did this so if I had a newcomer here already I would discard this Champion here but this newcomer would go here right right in the same slot and that's important because the way you win a match is one of two ways either a you are not beat when your opponent's deck runs out so if my deck here let's say you have four well no this would fold so you have one right but let's say it was let's say it was a four okay and I turned this over one it's not higher than four I have no more cards you win you get the number one trophy but the other way you win is if your opponent goes to put a card in the bench and there are no slots left is that possible when you get this because because as I showed you before right as I showed you before the Pig and the gesture and the vendor and the skeleton the makeup artist they're all unique names to each of the five different sets as well as the city set that's in here is so there's all kinds of new different cards that you could have right okay so now that I've explained that let me come back to this so uh I think I explained skeleton flag possession so if I won with the skeleton and I put this this skeleton 2 is now worth three because when I'm in flag possession this card is plus one okay okay so that's how that power works okay um if I had this vendor From the Bench your balloon cards have plus one so I currently have no balloon cards in my bed is balloon a type or does it say balloon no I mean I mean this little this little icon okay okay I currently have none of those in my bench but if I if I tune my deck to have a lot of balloon cards then when I put them in my bench they would help this vendor and they're cumulative so if I had three balloon cards there that would be two plus three is five for this card that you'd have to beat okay if I had them in the bench so balloons are the suit that see that little suit right there yes in this case I'm using it as a suit but it's it's I don't know what they I remember how they referred to other rules but um so Castle cards if there is at least one card with base power one on your bench this card has plus three so I have two of those yeah I don't need two but I happen to have at least two so this Jester is now worth four one plus three is four because I have at least a base one makes sense okay so um so there are cards that are going to say in flag position there are cards that might say when played there are cards that are going to say From the Bench there are cards that are going to say when you lose you can do stuff and there's just too many to go over so we'll just see them as they come okay okay um I didn't fully explain so let's now let's let me go back now and talk about [Music] um before 5K let me go back and talk about the deck drawing face so on the deck drawing phase the way it works is as follows you're going to look at your little list here's mine I think our lists are identical and see how it says this is for three or four players so in the first round we're all going to be able to draw two cards from the a deck then in the next round two cards from the a deck then in the next round either two cards from the a deck or one card from the B deck right then two A's or two B's then two B's then two B's are a c in the last round two C's got it okay here's how you draw cards let's say you need to draw two cards from the a deck and when that happens by the way I'll move this out so we can do it so let's say we need to draw two cards from the a deck okay you're gonna draw the top five cards and you're going to keep two one or zero okay if you keep two then you're done and the cards you don't use go up here this is like where we're gonna discard stuff okay okay so if you draw five you draw five and you keep two you're done if you draw five and you keep none then you discard those five and you draw five more and now you have to keep two okay okay if you draw five and you keep one then you discard the other four and you draw four and you keep one you're basically drawing up to five limit does that make sense yes and that's how you get two a cards once you have got your two a cards you may then before you shuffle your deck for the very first match get rid of any cards that you want you can throw out all your starting cards if you want I don't recommend it because you'll only have two cards in your deck then and you probably won't win but as the game goes on if you want to strip cards from your deck you can you're just allowed to toss them any cards from the a b or c deck that get discarded go into that card's discard slot any starting cards that get discarded go back in the box all right okay then we will play round one and then at the end of round one we will award trophies and then for round two we will move back to this little card for round two I move from the Green Park to the red park and I'm able to draw two a card two cards from the a deck when you move to yeah the other Park what side of it are you moving to it depends because he needs to be on the right if he's the Challenger it doesn't matter the sides are both the same oh okay it you move to whatever side is easiest for sitting at the table in our case we're not moving anywhere so but the point is your bench whatever side you're on is always on the right right that's why I was saying because if you're going to be on the right you would need to be over here I thought maybe you could choose from the six that are here like oh those are good cards for me no these are all gone so at the end of every battle all your cards go back in your deck and you and you you basically save it okay you don't lose any of your cards the only way you don't have cards in your deck anymore is if you willingly discard them at the end of the drawing phase but otherwise I didn't make that clear but after whoever wins the whoever captures the flag and wins the trophy everybody takes all of their cards okay that's your deck for the next round so you never lose any cards okay okay you're just building it forward and we'll be playing these back and forth separately but the rules suggest you can do them simultaneously like if we had a fourth if Aaron were here for example and I were battling Aaron Aaron and I could do our battle while you and Lincoln were doing yours at the same time okay we don't have to necessarily watch all that so in that regard the game could go faster than normal but it seems like it'd be more fun to watch the whole thing yeah sure so you're probably thinking great I'm gonna get these and there are some cards I think that when you play them or when you lose with them also get your fans AKA Stars so you think great I'm going to be at the end of the game and I'm going to have the most stars and I'm going to win not quite no teamwork says after seven rounds find the 2 in an a player game that would be a little more interesting but in a three-player game whichever two players have the most stars did that have another round Shuffle their deck and play for the win neat and then Stars don't matter anymore you're just playing for Winner Takes all oh okay and if the stars are tied I think it's highest Trophy and if that's not it it's next one down there's all kinds of tybreaking things we'll get to that if we need to get to it how far does it go does it go to I don't know your friends everybody wins it figures out a way to break the time I don't know I'm going to explain the robot when we get to it okay basically it's just an AI deck that you just turn over so when I battle the robot Lincoln you will be flipping over the road okay but um is there a difference between the White and the black it's literally if you wanna if you want to capture it and then flip it over to capture it because you see this bench is the light color and this which is the dark but it's also a way you can flip a coin wow nice that was good they suggest on the first round because there's no one with the highest trophy you flip a coin to see who okay foreign [Music] take your deck your starting deck I got a shuffle you don't have to no we're gonna get we're going to take your deck yeah and then here I'll just do this you do it one two three four five one two three four five one two three four five okay keep zero one or two of these and let's all take a long time okay um one more thing one more thing just so you know the the numerical value on the a deck is one to three okay okay the B deck is four through six and the C deck is I think also six through nine primarily but there's a couple of tens in there as well okay but they tends come with uh with caveats on them which you'll see um okay by the way in case you're curious the robot gets no cards the robot has a basic deck that you just play with but you can tweak it and add cards I think I said that before you can tweak it to add cards to make it so that extra deck to the side of the robot right there are just where we're gonna randomly draw a card from when we get there I'll explain it okay I'm going to take one and draw four more I will do the same thing what do you want I'm good okay I'm taking two one two three you want four Lincoln hold on let me think for just a second what I want to do here um this is discard Nikki is happy with her cars yes I am oh interesting okay these get shuffled here's my four cards I guess not I have the exact same card yeah of which by the way they're only four I'll take four as well hey but they're the same oh you already chose one right no I'm gonna take I'm gonna take this one okay we've chosen cards right yeah you can if you want at this point throw cards out of your hand and get rid of them that seems kind of silly I agree at this point it'll be a little early to do that but we can do it every time we take cards yep every time I will remind you every time okay all right here we go okay let's we're gonna always do the red battle first okay that's you two there's no way to decide to start player because no one has a trophy yet so the dark side that's Nikki dark side all right skeleton in flag possession this card has plus one so this is actually a three right now because she wins with the flag two that doesn't mean but during that's defense boo where is it a 10 defense it's during during attack this card has plus two okay that's it this is you're attacking oh so that's a four okay but now it's just two all right sorry that goes to your bench and you're okay Europe four four beats of two I can't beat that that is not going to be beat although if it was still worth a four well you have a four there it still would have been beaten you need to be a five oh correct hey it's a one that's bad hey that's a two that's really bad hey that's a three three what does that say about the two cards well I might as well get rid of that one from your bench to put into your exhaust wow sure okay yeah go ahead so now I have to beat a three yep one three three okay dog close that yep Butler and newcomers move that's bad yeah you're okay I think you'll get through your deck okay I'm gonna get through my deck that's the problem you know three three beats of two yep that's bad I know what this is but it isn't gonna help me okay two uh and this is stable boy this card has plus one for each card with base power of three which I have none right now so it's just a two red Beats oh okay well my last card is the four right yep all right her four is out I know but oops sorry she might not do it one a three that's it okay okay well I lost cool all right Nikki gets a trophy okay take all your cards back yeah cards oh and you Shuffle these and put my card back well before you can do that now but you need to also fight me fight me look I'm gonna be looking as up to I'm going to draw a card so there's no point here two what is a beta okay beta I can be the two cat beats a two yeah for Three Hats cats I think he's excited about that one yes I I got a cat hey champ so much for the cat Talent is not at four newcomer that's three newcomer that's four that's bad anything is gonna well the robot's only well one is gonna equal one is the problem Alpha hey yeah even Alpha beats it yeah keep it up there oh that's right okay newcomer newcomer Talent all right dog dog cyborg what does it say it's the car's based Parts equal to the current round okay to the current round okay so that's one that's two hey three three all right well that's a good way to waste those anyway man those are gonna be tough so now we the road that's just one right it's just one right yeah it folds so whatever this is movie star put up to two newcomer cards from your bench on top of your deck oh okay okay one four okay to be a three and I think I'm gonna be able to do that one a two a three a three wow trophy I was lucky because of the putting the cards on your desk honestly I think the robot is easiest to beat round one because the cyborg is only worth one okay right yeah true but the round one trophy is the least valued trophy right I guess right it has it's a very variety you said you could be plus one or two or something like that right so normally we would take out this Alpha card for the robot and we have that robot deck please and we would randomly choose one card from this robot deck these cards are more powerful than the original robot deck okay we've decided we are not doing that we do not want to tune the robot up it's our first time we don't know what we're doing we decided I think Dave decided I decided it's true um but just for everyone knows at the end of the B at the end of the second round you would take out this beta card and swap it out for one of these and then you're done and the robot deck would always stay the same because you only do so you're only going to do it twice two of these possible robot cards wow yeah they just give you a lot of them so that you don't know there's a five in there uh not just a five uh the robot's opponent ah but the robot's opponent may put one card with base power two from their bench on top of their deck so it's actually a five for the robot but it helps you it helps you it's interesting I mean the cards you're not getting rid of are those cyborg cards because they're gonna wear seven in round seven yeah that's bad the robot has four of them but that's the only way it's smart right it's the only way the robot deck can actually do something okay all right round two so for round two I go to mushroom world so I'm over here yeah I'm in the uh the you fight the robot yeah so I'm fighting Nikki you stay there and so I'll be over on that side Lincoln take your deck and let me have the robot deck did I stack it on no you've got it almost there is that on it no that's the those are the cards we're not using because we're not okay I will Shuffle that later but for now we get to have two cards from the adac one two three five one two three four five one two three four five four more cards I'm gonna take five more cards I don't like any of these can you do that I thought you could I'm not tricking any okay I misunderstood that I'm sorry I thought it was the second time you took four but second time you only take four if you've drawn one I see oh I want that for sure oh never even seen this what is this got some getting rid of okay you take two again yes I did all right reminder if you want you can throw cards away right now and get rid of them yeah no but I might next time oh I got a challenge of robot and he's more reporter I'm sorry yeah one on the top one in the bottom right under your deck and the other on the top on top on the top Lisa doesn't put anything in the your kind of curiosity okay I assume that's I assume that I have to do that whether I want to or not right I would think so okay that beats a three okay the dog goes easy to be that one a one easy to beat oh that's right a one yes there you go I'm all about letting you be newcomers he's tried to set something up I think I'm trying to set something up okay four yep oh winner and dinner three oh four oh it's only gonna be one except again in plus two during an attack okay so that only works when the makeup artist is in your bench that's really from The Benchmark From the Bench okay so the minute you lose that card all right then all your cards with one have a plus two but I'm you're only beating a one and you did yeah okay hey I wonder what my next card will be I don't know it'll be a one okay because we put it it's still worth more though right no yeah it's one and one okay from the bench okay that's right there she's now made all her ones into threes right does that say plus two yep okay all your ones are now threes that come up from here correct okay and you can't see that I like it three that's a three okay hang on maybe look one thing yeah yeah during the attack so this is now a one for defense sure so I don't I don't have to beat a three that's my point three with a cat thank goodness because I only got one yeah bench spot open two two so that's four yeah this card is plus one for each card a base power of three all right so that's three now and that's important because this is not attack that I have to beat a three yeah it's okay I got another cat oh boy okay all right two for Dave thank you oh oh well we saw I did not so okay that's done yep I'll take my deck please before I man the Robot Man the Robot Man the robot right flip that coin oh here it is sorry okay come on come on Butterfingers there we go hey the robot goes around the robot starts with a cyborg is worth two newcomer dog we're through that's good that's gonna get kind of two side there you go thank you thank you that side cyborg worth two doesn't matter that's worth four but now it's worth two okay good one three yep it's worth a two which you'll easily beat there's only one more cyborg yeah so it'll be next nope good boy good bot sorry for three okay four oh nice the champagne Alpha with one champ worth four but that's at least he got two cards out instead of one two what is that two cucumber cards I want them they go on the top right yep and that gets rid of this but it's a one yeah but you did a one-on-one card right because you got two cards back cyborg is worth two yep hey they go back yeah not so great no I like your chances two that's good during attack is four so now it's four but it's gonna be two just during the attack okay so it's back to two and I think the Cyborg's last card is a two all right so you just got a bit of two that was your gangster right yeah okay I think you got it link yay done juggler what does that do look at the top three cards of your deck return them in anywhere you're like okay I'm gonna put them in this order yeah sure for the record take a trophy hey and beat the robot I don't think that I don't think it'll ever happen again well again the robot gets harder per round sure okay all right that was everybody right three I stay in the mushroom world yep I assume you go to green I go to green all right so Nikki fights the robot I'm over here against Lincoln right yep and for round three you can take two cards from a or one from B what do you want oh a okay one two three four five what do you want two from a or one from B probably one uh one from B yeah me too I'm doing the same thing kind of afraid to get too many different kinds of cards well you can throw stuff away wow come on oh I like it oh you got the right one you wanted right away I got a great card but it's kind of seems really super powerful so if it shows up it has to come up and it has to be in the right thing yes I'm taking one so you want four more yeah okay here three four meanwhile I don't know and there it is how dumb okay boo you this goes back yeah maybe I should have taken two for me I know I mean I got a good card but nope nope I did the right thing I'm gonna say this now do you want to strip cards from your deck that's nice because you're not yet yeah uh yeah you're right not yet I wonder if that's a bad idea well I don't know oh wait I do want to strip cards for my deck okay okay I'm getting rid of one newcomer just one should I do the same I will tell you why yeah I have a movie star yeah that brings back two newcomers and you don't want another one beyond that hey I have the same situation at least I have three out I want the bench spot to be clear now the odds of all three being out might not happen but I'm gonna do the same as you yeah because that makes sense that right there makes sense very interesting because it will clear it out if you have to if you're lucky right before it comes out right there's my dad that helps manage the deck which is pretty cool yeah all right here we go I'm finding the robot first and I only have one so you go you have a two I also have a number of tokens no it's it's highest single okay but then you go to the next one right so it is definitely me those are shuffling shuffled okay here we go hey newcomer just what I want where's that red flag oh yeah it's right here I'll be losing it immediately but let me just at least take ah boo my highest card what is that shark shark oh trophy knockage okay it's good though maybe you'll probably draw your director from the bench oh I like it I want to lose that that makes my director cards plus one but only during attack director cards only no no the movie icon okay any card with that little clapboard on it but uh seven total AKA three right and by the way I love that tuck thing two three nice but now it's a one oh all right and whatever this is wins reporter look at the top two cards of your deck put one under your deck and the other on top um Talent I'm gonna leave that just the way it is oh no I hint I have to put one at the bottom you have to yeah that's what it says I don't want to do that ah all right ah okay it sounds like a card to get rid of my okay later one of them is my movie star right so it takes newcomers off but it puts them just on the top okay okay done newcomer Butler and beat it at least yep put two cards from your bench on your exhaust pile uh anything right just in keep it whatever you don't have doubles of yeah there's neither of those there's no chance you obviously want to keep the new company okay so I've got it it's your turn one I think I'm gonna bench out no no okay you knew well I sum on it okay all right you got to be a three yeah it's gonna be a challenge two put two number two hey but guess what that's gonna do makes it a three oh yep that's nice though yeah it is you had them both that was that was what we were talking about in the uh oh look at that exact numbers looking good champion I don't think I am the champion my friend champion one yep four yep no no thingies there's a dog and then all right yeah I got no room for anything anymore cat cat luckily cat survives yeah a cat does two what does that do plus two so that's four yeah but now it's two for defense yep oh Talent um that wins yep oh that's bad all you gotta do is be two and I lose four the end bench bench all right Nikki yeah it's you versus robot you've got a trophy and the robot doesn't okay I go I go I wonder if starting is good I don't think it is two I don't think it is oh I think starting is bad that's why that's why the person with the highest trophy starts right Alpha it's only worth one hey but three that's a two yep yep oh let me move these out of the way all right um that's us two skeleton I'm not in flag position oh now I am yep so now it's good this card is now a three But Here Comes the cyborg to beat it yeah right wow and I don't want to fight the cyborg anymore makeup from the bench that's not on the bench but when it gets to the bench your cards with one have plus two so you have to beat a three still okay that card has plus one because you're in possession so it's a three three also known as a cyborg okay oh man okay but your ones are now threes okay that's a four yep four yeah robot is for real for real stable boy to uh one plus base power three you don't have anything on your back no I don't okay two still gotta be to four that beats a four because that's worth being no yes because your makeup artist turns ones into threes okay so you have five that would be to four but now you just fight a one now it's just a one correct it's it's only a it's only a plus two on attack cyborg is a three wow yeah I'm full so you had no newcomers out not yet but there were three no she's gonna but I'm saying the good thing is is they they're all worth three this is great newcomer oh that's not a new reporter I have to go through and reorganize put no look at the top two look at the first two put one on the top one on the bottom on top yeah she really wanted her new company that's a bad deal yeah this is I'm gonna you're gonna probably lose you need your biggest card no no here we go go for it you still have to be the three that's during an attack this card's plus two okay well that's well now it's a four no it's a two only for defense though oh okay for attack yeah yeah and it beats it yeah robot is tough it was bad all the way full bench full bench full bench there's definitely something to your cards needing to come also out in a certain order oh yeah okay round four two I'm gonna go for B's I am over here in the leaf world I'm in the same spot you're in the same spot oh I go here for round four four one two three four yeah all right so I'm facing the robot round four do you want two A's or two B's I want two bees two B's B one two five one two three four five one two three four five I'm also taking two B's I can't imagine I would ever go back to you there must be a way to just have all a card and somehow have that work for you well the good thing might be is that you might have a bunch of the same cards to me that seems pretty great but the kind of synergy I did not have anything that made it worse keeping them together right and I got lots of like high value but it was a you know they're all different I was still down in my last card I mean yeah it was closer than you thought right yeah oh I mean I was in the final right I mean 100 well we'll get to that first let's start with I want to look at yes looking at my card thing wow you still had some good stuff man they just didn't come out in the right order but right how many of them are like I mean that was my thing I don't think I had I had a lot of Clairvoyance so the downer was The Clairvoyant wasn't on top it went a couple of times they're great early because four is usually good enough to win sure [Music] thank you [Music] energetic engineer Supply anyway Nikki what do you think about this well we'll get to what I think in a minute yeah I I enjoy the fighting part I thought that was deep I like the fact that after you choose um cards you can just go through your deck and clean it up however you want there's no trade-off there's no action you know there's no like you can only get that's actually one of the hardest things usually the deck builders just get rid of carts yeah right so I kind of enjoyed just going through the whole deck and cleaning it up right um maybe I clean mine up too much I'm not sure I was worrying a lot about bench space right yeah maybe I shouldn't have worried about it that much but it did get me a couple times anyways so maybe that was a good thing and the bench space thing is a very interesting mechanic where yeah you might have this big fat deck and you can keep on going but if your bench is full you're you're done it's over I mean and that's interesting bench management is hard uh it is hitting the same cards is huge right I mean I was praying for another shark you know anything that I had that was our I was very happy that I had these but they didn't show up you know I mean they did in the final round at least two of them showed up but I was hopeful because at least that could you know that's that's one position right out of all these if I can make it but then I have seven more cards yeah seven more cards which is hard right there there's no doubles on here right but one thing I was thinking about also is it seems like it might be a disadvantage if you are the first player in the first round to have to fight the robot yeah but tape one is pretty tough right out the game I think the robot is probably easiest to beat round one because those cyborg cards are only worth one yes okay that's true cyborg I think make get make the robot harder as the game goes on because it's a single cardboard seven in round seven right right but he can never bench out that was something we had talked about yeah that's cool though that's I like that weird well I mean they they wanted to get rid of the thing it well they wanted to get rid of that the AI just losing because it benched out is not really great I guess so okay they did the right thing that it increases as the level increases right so it makes it hard if you can you know if you can make something work I mean I don't know if I did I beat the AI later on I did at least one of the later ones yeah like whenever it was five or something like that which was amazing I can't even believe I did it because I thought there was no way yeah I mean if the mechanic we didn't put some of these in the deck right the mechanic is a three for the robot plus one for every B card in the opponent's bench wow now that could be zero right or it could be look in this case if I had these directors out that could be plus one two three four five six I mean that could be huge depending the robot can really be tough even this one virtual ghost it takes the top card of your deck and gets rid of it to the exhaust pile right even if that's not a great card for you it's still your one fewer card right you just you just don't know and we didn't make the robot harder we could have made the robot harder right true and you know maybe we should have I don't know right I mean you won several times against the robot when well there's okay so this game clearly has a healthy amount of luck going oh yeah that's fine luck in getting cards that have Synergy which you might not do and luck in those cards I mean you drew all four directors which is insane right yeah and luck getting the cards to come up in the order you want them to come up in I mean you have three types of cards that repeat yeah so the only way we could win is if we Outlast you or the AI and the AI can't Outlast you probably correct or if you had if you had the siren right and you could have gotten rid of one of my directors or right but that needed to come out early or something like that to even make a difference right if if both of these come up early then they're wasted that's part of the luck Factor as well all right because they're more valuable later on those were worth five to me instead of three when I played them because I had one or two directors out but if they come up right away they're just threes right and then they're then they're essentially useless to me so that's part of the luck factor for sure I like I like the idea of it no matter how poorly you're doing mid game you could still get to the end game right right because you only need to have a second imagine the craziness with eight people oh my gosh you know I I don't even and plus a lot more cards to be in the game although we you know we went through the decks there look at that now see still a lot left there well you can't you only have two opportunities yeah um a bit if there were a lot of people then you you'd see more then more than would come out right well and also we're not doing it in theory you're playing the game simultaneously so like if as I said if if I mean if the teams would be doing this if Aaron were here right for the first battle you and Nikki would battle an air and I battle and we could do them at the same time right because obviously it's more fun I think there's a certain amount of fun to sort of watching what's happening and seeing what's happening but that makes the game that made our game longer in theory than normal sure sure it's supposed to be pretty quick it actually says yeah it's for one to eight players and it says that the game time is the same no matter how many number of players right because in theory all the battles happen at once right but that seems like don't you want to watch some of the battles I mean especially if it's a really close one like yeah it was fun sort of watching some of them yeah it was but if you're playing with eight people I mean yeah yeah yeah yeah you can't watch that so yeah my problem is yeah I mean I don't mind luck but I it's I mean I tried really hard to try to have the same cards and it just didn't happen like I specifically jumped ahead so that I would have one card in the bees so that when I had the opportunity for more bees I might have a chance to get them and I didn't I mean I did I got three of the same ultimately but um uh and you know this guy was risky but he was kind of fun I had a couple of decent things that came out about it but they were this was just because if it was lucky it would be a four right but I wasn't lucky well I was lucky that when against Nikki it ended up being lucky right right once oh yeah I mean but it was that was when I had no idea what it was the other one that I got was the um Pony I think which is a pony I know when did I take put that one back um but yeah that I mean that's fun I mean I do I actually kind of like that but it is I guess you could dump it at the next round so that you would only have one shot at it like messing with you but it is another card in a deck you know it's an a deck and I barely had any A's left as a matter of fact I had no AIDS left sure because the villain is in the sea deck and by the time you're the minimum opportunity your first chance of getting that is around six and by around six you've likely shed yourself of all your a cars right so the idea of maybe you get one that's that's the same right definitely interesting um but yeah it's fun and I would like to play it with four I mean the AI is cool though I actually like the idea it ended up being a little easier than I thought maybe because I think the last time I had the a was around five Nikki must have been around six and then you were around seven and you didn't beat the a in round six did you no yeah it's a bummer because it's hard I think in round six it's a six points per cyborg well again there's four cyborgs and the way you beat the robot the most is to have this then this then the cyborg yeah it's still hard but that at least gets three cards out of the deck and wastes the cyborg yeah right that's what you want you want to waste these cyborgs as much as you can like when you have four up there to beat the cyborg you want the next thing to be a three and then a cyborg right and that's the luck part of it like there's something kind of nice about you tune your deck and then you just Shuffle it and cross your fingers to a certain extent yeah yeah it's a really nice production and I really like these trays they're fantastic and it's we didn't get to it but I like that these will reshuffle when this fills and we sleeve these cards and they fit yeah which is really cool and if you play by the way we didn't unwrap them or anything but there's the yellow Park and the right which is the other side of these cards yes yep five to six seven eight yeah interesting yep um I didn't read the solo mode but it's basically you against the robot oh wow okay and um does it the then it must upgrade you probably have to upgrade uh the difference is that the robot collects trophies and then can win the game immediately if it has 11 more fans than you so you're so you're turning the trophies up in the robot game robot I can't believe I kept that darn guy it didn't end up helping me the uh the butler he did do it though The Butler did it look most of my cards were uh B cards here at the end anyway yeah you did toss a lot though yeah well it is cool and I definitely I think the the way the the stuff is put together is interesting I cannot wait to see me other cards because we barely saw any Seas uh except you know that that 10 yeah was kind of interesting expansion cards could be easy to sort of slip in and we didn't remember I said you picked five of the six sets right and they suggested that you don't use the planetsy set so the planet see well it's got a little planted icon on it okay because these have when picked literally when you take it from the tray something happens when picked you may remove a card from your deck to pick an extra card oh nice yeah wow uh uh let's see what else is in wow that would give you more opportunities to pair and upgrade when picked take one fan wow that's cool you have to take a four and it might be a new thing for your bench what's the level B if four is kind of within the range on a level B um uh let's see yeah these apparently are weirder and trickier and tricks here yeah interesting your opponent puts the top card from the level B pile on top of their deck without looking at it so that would add a b to your opponent's deck and when picked you may remove two Planet cards from your deck to pick an extra card right so it's a lot of paring down sci-fi geek well these are all science fiction right the rescue pod and whatever yeah well cool thanks
