welcome to installing seeker 9000 client a step-by-step guide courtesy of midco security technical support in this video we will go over how to install the secure 9000 client please note that for this video walkthrough we are using the most up-to-date version of secure 9000 which means that we will be installing secure 9000 version 2.8 service pack 2. because of this we will need to download three different files the main secure 9000 2.8 installer service pack 1 and lastly service pack 2. once we've downloaded the software we will install the software in the following order we will start with the 2.80 client reboot the computer and then install service pack 1 and lastly install service pack 2 at that point we will be ready to use the software i've created a folder here that contains all the necessary secure 9000 installation media you will notice that there are three separate folders the first is for the main client installer the other two are for the service packs as mentioned in the opening the order we will go in is first installing the main client installer and then installing service pack 1 and then service pack 2. all right i will open up the client only folder and scroll down to setup i will right click and choose run as administrator this will open up the main installer and is the biggest step in the process the first thing you're going to have to do is choose where you're going to install this software so you can automatically install it to the c drive or type in a different path right there the next step is you have to click on the down arrow to the left of secure client once you do that you can type in the name of your secure 9000 server by default it's going to put in localhost which would be this computer however in our case our server name is secure1 so i'm going to highlight localhost and type in secure1 now that i've done that i will hit the next button it will tell me now the list of prerequisites that are going to be installed and please note that there could be a lot of prerequisites and that can take quite a long time it'll also reiterate the path that we are going to install it and the name of the server and then i can hit next there is your standard end user license agreement i will hit i agree and then the installer will begin now please note that the prerequisites typically take 10 to 15 minutes to install so i've sped up the process that way we didn't have to sit through it for this video and here you see the end of the process where it tells us the installation is complete and asks us to reboot therefore i will click reboot okay my computer is rebooted and now you see i've got the administration workstation and monitoring station icons on my computer however i still need to install sp1 and sp2 in order to match what my server is running therefore i'm going to scroll over to the 2.80 sp1 folder and open it up once i open it up i'm going to right click on 2.80 sp1 exe and i'm going to choose run as administrator now it's going to ask me if i want to install this update and it's as simple as clicking on the install button again i've sped up the process but this one should take a lot less time as you see here the setup has completed successfully so i hit exit and now i go back to my original folders and i open up 2.80 sp2 once again i right click on the installer in this case named 2.80 sp2 executable and i choose run as administrator again it asks me to click on install to install this update and there you have it we have completed successfully so again i will hit exit at this point my software is ready to be open so i'm going to double click on my administration workstation and make sure that it works as you can see the software opened up successfully and now i'm going to test monitoring station and once again we can see that this has installed correctly therefore at this point we have successfully installed secure 9000 version 2.80 with service pack 2. thank you for watching this video if you have any further questions feel free to contact midco security tech support at security support midcosystems.com
