boom what is up everybody it's derek obviously you know that because you're tuning in but i am sorry that i missed you last week i was a little upset after the game i went straight into getting ready for the next one and so i've i missed one week in there i wanted to apologize for that but we're back and i got some big news that i want to share with you guys uh some important news that uh i read i wrote down right here valley for valley children's hospital okay who where my where heather and i where our son dallas had his surgeries uh there is a uh bid for kids pre-registration um and go check it out there'll be more information on my youtube channel on my facebook channel um but what it is is bid for kids check it out and there's gonna be their car signed items talk that are auctioned off and things like that stuff i've signed and stuff a whole bunch of stuff like that there's also gonna be a zoom call for you and i think for your friends i may be wrong on the numbers but you and for your friends with me we can zoom you can ask questions we can talk it could be for your kids it could be for your husband it could be for whatever you know if you're a coach it could be for whoever you got but it'll be a zoom call with me you could uh obviously get that on there too so that that's on there as well but check it out i wanted to say that first two is we finally won at arrowhead and that was awesome and it was uh uh very very exciting obviously i know everyone was pumped about that i was pumped about that um but great great team win it was awesome okay uh and i'll get to some of those questions here we can talk about here in a second but um definitely something that was on my heart um it's been on my heart for a while is we had to get a win there and we did against one of if not the best team in football and uh you know they uh great offense great defense um just great team you know they're unbelievable yeah those guys uh it's always tough when we play them uh but to get the first win there uh was huge uh i also want to you know shout out to dak uh i texted dak but shout out to him we're praying for him for a speedy recovery i've been there um also shout out to alex smith for being able to fight back against all the odds against everyone saying what are you even doing and all this kind of stuff man good for you alex that was awesome talk to you also man but just want to share that with our with my fans here that uh you know hopefully dak will be all right uh but to see alex smith fight back and do something that everyone told him he'd be crazy to do and that he couldn't do um you know hats off to you man god bless you guys uh but yeah with had to get that out there too um obviously we threw a lot of deep balls in this game uh against the chiefs uh when it's there we we got them you know you know when it's there we have those throws we have those abilities we have the abilities to do those things not everybody gives us those things and so i know everyone was all excited and oh my goodness we should do that every play and it's like you guys don't understand that just doesn't happen every play so we have to take a break sometimes you got to take a step back and you got to play the game but when the game gives it to you we have taken advantage of that this year and it's been really exciting it's been really fun we have some uh we have some good good uh speed we got our o-line is getting healthy um so we have time to be able to you know extend those plays and get people down the field and and the coverages you know we've been able to get some dictate uh dictate some coverages um that that we could take those shots so it's been fun man it was been that was a lot of fun right reminding me my days in fresno when we used to call four verticals almost every play uh you know with uh with with devante harp burst oh my gosh sale uh it was it was a lot of fun but uh it was it was a sure was a lot of fun uh in that game uh a lot of raider fans were at the game too at one point there there there was a raider uh raider fan uh or raider champ uh going on raiders all this stuff going on in arrowhead it was awesome and uh to you guys that were there it was fantastic and uh also a fun thing about the game is every time i go to kc there's one fan and he knows it because i always laugh at him but there's one fan that sits right behind our bench that just yells out anything you can think of about me and he kept saying oh and seven oh one seven on seven here it goes oh and seven on seven we're not on seven we're one and six but that one sure did feel good hopefully it keeps us on a good streak uh but it's always fun uh you're asking where that game ball is that's a good question uh that game ball is not in here but i got some good ones man i got the the yards when we broke the raiders yards record i got the touchdown ball right there when we broke the touchdown record uh got some got some good ones in here man but you know shout out to kenny stabler's family and to the snake himself you know for having such a career that a kid like me could grow up and dream of you know you know trying to go get those records and so i try and do it with honor and i try and do it with class every time but yeah that i'm sure my boys have that football uh maybe it's in my locker i don't know i can't remember i can't remember if i brought it home yet but but if if i do bring home i'm sure enough my boys will be playing with it too but i want to get to some of y'all's questions here in just a second um we are on the bye week during my bi-week i like to take a little mental break because um a lot of people don't know some do some don't there's a lot of mental not stress but mental stress that you put your mind through um not um not like a stressful thing but the stress that you put on your mind the stress that you put on it uh all that kind of stuff uh you know that you do playing quarterback and playing the nfl especially in groov's system there's a lot that goes on so i try and take a mental break for a few days obviously i get ahead on some film of the teams that are coming up i get i get ready for those games and i pay attention and watch their games on sunday or monday whenever they play and nowadays tuesdays you know who knows when they play but i try and get ahead on that kind of stuff a little bit but i also try and spend time with my boys with my wife um soon my little girl she'll be here she'll be here in december so y'all be praying for my wife be praying for us but uh our little our little baby girl will be here soon um but yeah uh you know bye week is here we time to get our team healthy it's a good time to get rest maybe hit two or three golf shots but uh you know that you can do that downstairs in the house with my boys and stuff like that but uh it's definitely a time that you have to take a mental break because of what you put your mind through and you put your body through even if it's just for 24 hours you have to take a little mental break because there's so much um you know that goes into this talk about a few guys i'll show you i see this question i want to answer this too because a lot of y'all are asking this did pat my home shaking my hand and all this kind of stuff people started tweeting about it yes my homes i talked to them right after the game uh they i don't know if they caught it on tv or not but he's a he's a great guy and i don't like when people you know try and i know he's a chief and i know we're raiders but please understand he i talked to pat after the game he was very very nice he's always super cool super and i talked to him before the game talked to him after the game and in between our locker our locker rooms after the game you know when we were off the field i saw him and talk to him again so please yes he we we didn't shake hands we fist bumped because it's coveted 19 but please don't give you know that any any more breath um but let's talk about um you know nelson aguilar uh man i just feel so happy for him you know uh coming in here he already has i think three touchdowns i think he's leading the team also at receiver uh with his touchdowns uh he's you know he's been so awesome he's such he's so diligent in his work ethic all our receivers have been awesome i know you guys are excited you're asking about henry ruggs henry ruggs is amazing i told you guys he's not just a track guy he's not just the speedy guy we saw the speed but he's also a guy that's tough man he'll go up and make those tough catches like you saw on that i think it was the first third down of the game to my right or it was him in the safety one-on-one and he uh he went up over him and smashed the ball over him uh and uh over 27 i think it was and um without getting into the coverages and all that but uh he he made a great catch and first down and all that kind of stuff but it was awesome i also talked about uh about book man he ran his heart heart out there was a couple protections there where he had some huge pickups um you know they you know did an awesome job you know i think i like i like that in our offense a lot of guys get get the football a lot of different guys see the ball uh you know trent brown was back that was awesome obviously i know you guys enjoyed it probably not as much as i enjoyed it but he's awesome you know trent was back and he was balling man he did a great job uh let denzel play inside who had a heck of a game as well our o line was awesome our defense man they were awesome that second half the way that they were playing man that was fantastic uh but it was great uh that's a good question so you asked you asked uh i i can't scroll up and see it but one of y'all asked what goes through my mind after that interception and so i know for me and this is how how i always am is i can't wait to get the ball back now i know y'all saw me try and go make a tackle i was really trying to sleep that man but he saw me at the last second made a right turn and got away a little bit but i tried to make the tackle but uh what goes through my mind after throwing an interception like that and again he fell off made a heck of a play i was trying to hit waller and uh that man fell off of nelson on the post and he made a great play he did and uh i tip my cap to him you know that that kind of stuff is is going to happen uh especially when we're really aggressive like that um but with that said uh what goes on in my head is next play you know see you see we have the firepower now that no matter what happens in a game that we can strike back real quick you know we can we can we can score points you know really fast we can hit a big play we you know in the run game in the past game all that kind of stuff and so uh it's it's really cool because there was times in my career where uh and sometimes it was taught like hey we gotta be super conservative in a situation or with this or with that we can't really do that uh because we have to set this up or set that up and uh what's really cool when we when we play uh complimentary football like that is you can be aggressive you know you know everyone's got your back and then you just go back out there and try and try and make a play try and get it back and so um really really proud of our guys the way they fought away the the way we fought um and and all that kind of stuff and so it was really really cool to see our guys fight but same thing goes on in my head like nothing changes like the game's not over first of all that's why we play fourth quarters but um yeah that's just a little bit what goes on your head it says next play let's go you know we have we have the talents to do it uh and so a couple are asking about covet during the bite week there's still protocols for us um there's still protocols that we gotta follow and things like that um a lot of a lot of in-home in-house dinner dates with my wife and things like that um but yeah it's uh it's it's been it's been crazy here uh but we're doing our best with it and i think everyone is you know we don't no one really knows exactly what to do but we're trying our best and so it's been really good for us though um and someone asked if i why do i have a chiefs helmet behind me i do not have a chief's helmet behind me that is a fresno state bulldog helmet the real fsu shout out lamarcus joyner um and rodney hudson a few other guys but uh now that that right there there's a bulldog helmet don't don't do that to me y'all are tripping all right so i want to ask answer some more y'all's questions i'm going to give y'all a second uh to type in what you want to type in and things like that but i'll give you a second and questions but um good question how much do you feel this was a momentum boost for the team i think it's really good for our team uh you know i think the the best part about it about getting a win on the road like that is this and this is the beautiful thing about about football and life uh is that we were we had lost two games in a row everyone's like man same old raiders whatever this that every everyone starts talking right and what happens is when you're faced with adversity uh that muhammad mindset that's right um when you're faced with adversity um you can uh i don't know i've seen a couple fights in my day some people when they get punched in the face respond a little bit different than other people and when you're faced with adversity with the defending world champions at their place haven't won there as an organization in seven plus years when you're faced with that you either fight back and you correct it and you make it right or you give in and the most beautiful thing about it was that our our guys fought back and we were able to win this game when no one else nobody thought we could except our fans and we thank you for that uh but yeah uh it's definitely a cool thing uh how was it with fans in the stadium it was it was nice i wish you know we could get our fans in our beautiful stadium right down the street right here from the house at allegiant stadium it's beautiful you guys are gonna love it it's unbelievable it's fantastic but uh vegas vegas is vegas is awesome they did that stadium right that's for sure um uh keep going i'm gonna keep going ask uh answer some more y'alls questions y'all got some they are funny too uh i'm gonna say hi to your son oliver yes i will say hi to your son oliver uh here we go dc how did you get back oops dc how did you get back into the right mentality after throwing the pick uh like i said man it's it's a four quarter game there's been games i've thrown picks early on and and honestly it angers you and uh sometimes you even play better uh but uh when whenever it happens you just you should go to the next plague mentality and i kind of talked about that a little bit earlier if you want to after this video check that out um go ahead keep keep letting them fly um do i have the game ball i absolutely do i absolutely have the game ball i definitely kept that one uh is that a wedding ring tattoo yes so i have three tattoos that you can see just kidding there's this one there's this one then i have my wedding uh anniversary date and roman numerals right there so i love you guys it's my bye week so i'm gonna go spend some time with my wife and my children i love you guys you guys are awesome thank you always for your support um fellas everybody i think everyone felt that excitement of you know of what happened uh you know literally a couple days ago an arrowhead for our organization for our team we're heading the right direction it's exciting but job's not done okay it's it's okay to be excited it's okay to celebrate it but as you all know job is not done we have a we have a job to do and we're here to finish it and so we're going to keep working like heck to try and do that against all odds we're going to keep doing our best we're going to keep fighting know that uh y'all know that about me if you're on here you know that about me i'm going to keep fighting my tail off uh for obviously for my faith for my family and for y'all um we're gonna we're gonna make sure that we have fun uh this year just when baby i love you guys thank you for always jumping on bring your Really happy that he's happy and seemingly thriving this year. He's just such a good dude—it's hard not to root for him even when you've questioned whether he could be the guy. He's always had a monkey on his back in Arrowhead, so to have the performance he did is awesome.
