what's up everybody give you guys a few seconds to get on here uh but i am going to uh i'm gonna recap a little bit from uh from the game uh monday night i think i think everyone was excited i think everyone was pretty pumped up about the big win and things like that uh one thing um that fired me up obviously was getting that first win in the las vegas you know city getting that first win in allegiance stadium was pretty amazing not gonna lie i wish so badly that raider nation could have been there with us you know it was uh it was unbelievable um uh atmosphere you know even though there was no fans the stadium the you know the lights the the sounds and that place were just awesome and i know i know if you raider nation if the black hole was there it would have been unbelievable and so uh you know i really wish that you guys could have been there uh but i'm glad you guys got to enjoy it on tv i'm glad that uh we're you know we're 2-0 we want to know this week 2-0 uh sorry that i didn't get on uh on the youtube live um earlier this morning like i usually do on the short week i got a lot of a lot of film study to do you know got a lot of work to do to get ready for the for the patriots we'll talk about that in a second but uh some of the highlights um i think from from yesterday's game uh obviously the play the new orleans saints they're they're a super bowl contender every year you know they go deep in the playoffs it seems like every year uh top 10 offense top 10 defense you know they their special teams units unbelievable you know and i think it just shows um you know just where we're at as a team you know that we can compete with those kind of teams and so uh you know it's pretty uh pretty awesome uh to see that uh we could do uh some of the things that we wanted to do in that game against that kind of team and uh you know it was pretty fun pretty fun to watch uh you know some of our young guys get a shot to play as well you know they they stepped up in a big way you know obviously we're we're to our third right tackle you know uh we went to our backup left guard who's a rookie against one of the best fronts in all of football and so um you know i think that uh you know there's some things that we have to be cautious with when that happens you know we gotta protect those guys and we got two rookies you know starting at receiver and things like that so there's things that we have to do to work around some of that stuff sometimes but with that said we were able to hit some big plays you know throughout the game we had a lot of chunk plays a lot of explosive plays which is huge against that defense we were able to uh keep drew uh you know that that offense off the field you know with with the time of possession and uh with the way we were able to run the ball and uh get completions man you keep the clock moving and uh against a team like that's it's a must you know there's not just one formula to beat everybody you know you know every game is different every every half every quarter every drive is different and it seems like they were giving us every front every coverage known to man you know uh in that game you know there's some teams in the nfl they're gonna play one or two coverages all game they're gonna play two fronts and you know it uh the saints are not like that they're gonna give you every different look possible they're gonna try and confuse the quarterback in the center they're gonna try and confuse uh your young guys they're gonna use a lot of games up front games you mean you know ends going this way tackles going around or doing linebackers and safeties just pressures all different kind of stuff so um they they're unbelievably talented in my hat i tipped my hat to a man it was a well well fought game by both sides and uh we were able to come up victorious um you know but uh big shout out to the offensive line man you know they they hit us with a couple looks early um you know that uh that were a little different uh but we were able to uh correct our mistakes and things like that and we were able to you know come out come out firing so i know early in the game they jumped out on us but that's why we play fourth quarters and it's never over and that's what uh you know that's what i love about this team is we got a lot of good guys a lot of good football players but we got a lot of good football character as well you know i'm really proud of of the way our guys you know hung in there uh and didn't just think oh here we go again we're down 10 or you know anything like that you know we went on the score 24 right after that you know and uh really proud of our guys you know we got a good group um of guys the whole team it takes a team to to win these football games and our whole team you know really showed up and i'm uh really really really proud of them and so uh i'm excited uh you know to you know see what we can do uh in new england next week but we got a lot of work to do until then and so uh i'm y'all start typing in some questions here and i'm gonna answer them here in just a second but um you know i was really really happy for waller really happy for um uh you know josh the jalen book you know everyone got some carries you know i think we threw the ball to 11 different different receivers um and meaning targets um that that shows you that we're not obviously we feature some people but you know we're going to throw the ball to whoever's out there and that that is going to be huge for us down the road so teams can't just key on on one or two things and so the more that we can be diverse um i know that that may not be the best thing for your fantasy football team but it's the best thing for our football team so uh as raider fans we're gonna we're gonna keep doing that um you know we were able to you know let henry get down the field a couple times and you know if we hit those plays he has a big day but you know we're still working on those things and we had a holding call if we if he didn't get held we would have hopefully ended the game with a touchdown right there on the deep ball to rug so um you know teams are aware his speed and teams uh are are definitely are definitely keying in on that um but uh you know i think that everyone just needs to chill a little bit we're gonna be just fine you know i think whenever you score 34 points against uh a defense like that scored 34 points in back-to-back weeks um i think we're gonna be all right so let's let's just keep the course and stay the course um let's just keep winning football games so i wanna answer some of your guys's questions um you know some of you you asked the first question i saw uh was when is our baby due our new baby due robert our new baby is going to be doing december december um and so hopefully hopefully uh it's not during a game uh hopefully it's during a good time so uh i'm excited for that though man we finally we got a little girl on the way all right um and i'm excited for that so uh i know my three boys are excited but i'm definitely excited uh uh you know for our for our little baby girl to get here so i can't wait um i appreciate you guys asking about my teammates but you know i'm not going to talk about their health and stuff like that uh but uh oh let me screw up scroll up real quick uh yeah so talk about new england this week is another question um you know new england obviously uh six super bowl rings uh they're they're unbelievable coach belichick's one of if not the best coach to ever to ever coach um you know in this league you know he does a great job of trying to take uh take um some of your best weapons away he does a great job of trying to make other people beat you and things like that um and and that's everyone in this league but they he he does a really good job of it and so um you know i i think that we have a team that's full of guys that it's like all right you know who's whose week is it going to be this week you know we have plays designed for everybody in our offense and so it all we're always excited to see okay you want to take that away i mean that's kind of how we play football you want to take that away then you're going to get this you know you want to take this way then you'll get that and so uh i'll be excited to see um you know what happens uh you know this week who steps up and makes those plays for us this week but very excited they're great defense great great uh at all at all levels so uh it's it's gonna be good um so let's see here all right pull this up more questions yeah i love you too bro let's see here um do you stay in a bubble during the week because of covid so we don't like it's not like the nba we're all where we're all in one hotel there's too many people we got so many people you know and things uh of that sort so we don't stay just in a hotel locked up but when we go to facility like the only people that are allowed in the facility are tested are cova-tested literally literally every single day since we started football we've been tested every single morning you know there's not a day except game day where we haven't been tested and the night before the game we're in a hotel and then we come to the facility with only people that have been tested and then we go to the stadium so um it's definitely something that the nfl is being serious about obviously as you see some of the stuff going around um with fines and things like that uh we don't want anyone to catch it we don't want anyone to you know uh you know their families to catch or anything like that so uh so far it's been uh it's been good um it's it's been solid so uh but we don't we don't stay in a bubble we we literally just get tested every day and go to work and then they just they just alert us like don't don't go out to eat don't shake hands don't sign out of grass don't do those things because we got to be safe you know and obviously um you know we we love you guys but we can't sign autographs and do all that kind of stuff right now you know they're they're on us big time about that so uh so yeah some of y'all are asking about some of my funny audibles i see um yeah we have i got about 20 different ways to call every play you know and we just make up fun names that some of them don't even make sense you know it's fun to hear the defense try and guess what's going to happen and uh because of something you said last week or something you said you know in prior weeks and uh you just you just kind of laugh you know because there's there's different ways to get to a whole bunch of different place so we have a lot of different audibles some mean stuff some don't mean stuff uh but yeah um it's pretty funny um so yeah yeah we're good um how do you keep your emotions together with everything you have been through with the raiders it's a great question you know we have been through a lot um you know our team we've rebuilt three times you know um i've had uh one two three four different head coaches um i've had three or four different coordinators um you know and that's just in my seven years here y'all have been raider fans like me you know um we've been rooting for the raiders you know for so long so that's not even that's not even you know seven my seven years isn't even half of what we've all witnessed and been through in the last 20 years you know let alone the last seven so um whenever you want to do things right you got to bring in the right people you got to bring good players um and you got to bring in the right kind of people and i think that we've done that you know i think that uh i think that we've definitely done that here and you're starting to see the fruits of of coach gruden and mr mayok coming in and saying hey that's how we're going to do things and when when everyone is on the same page owner gm head coach quarterback when all of those people are on the same page and you're going forward and you're communicating we're starting to see the fruits of what a really good organization can look like and so we have a lot of work to do the job's not finished as you all know but i just want y'all to know that um everyone in society wants things done now you know and we are in a place where i'm thankful where they understood that hey we've had troubles for so many years we're gonna do this thing the slow way and we're gonna do this thing the right way and we're we're starting to reap the benefits of that and hopefully we can continue to do that because it's really been it's really been awesome so uh good question um how many hours do you spend studying to learn gruden's offense well at first to learn the whole offense i mean you're always learning um you guys have seen some of the nfl films clips or he's talking to other quarterbacks about things and i as soon as he was hired i said that's not going to be me you know i was going to make sure of that and you know he he yells at everybody he owes it officials he owes it defenders heals at quarterbacks see that's him that's chucky you know that's coach gruden and and we love him okay and that's that's our guy but learning his offense is tough but if you love football and it means enough to you you'll just get it done and so uh i think that um i think that that's why we've hit it off so well and in our three years and i've known him since before he was my coach and how we we got along so great um but it's because i love football you know and i love everything you know that uh you know that he you know that he wants to you know bring to the table with our offense and moving the ball in this formation that doing this check this check that and it's a lot you know it can be a lot um uh for quarterbacks and i and i understand how some guys you know may have uh may have struggled or you know may have not had the best experience but i've had a great experience he's he's helped me change my career i played some i played my best football for him and so uh i'm really thankful for him um but yeah i spent a lot of hours especially at first but every week every week is is non-stop studying like today i haven't i haven't stopped yet today so uh we're always we're always studying we're always trying to uh take our offense and try and how do we how do we use our offense to beat our opponent you know and so we try and figure that out as well some of y'all are talking about michael thomas um and some of his tweets and i saw i saw some of that stuff um but that's that's why we play four quarters right um and everyone has an opinion you know i think that we live in a day and age now um where everyone has an opinion on something and we everyone has a everyone's thing everyone has a platform really you know especially professional athletes and they want to use it to say and get whatever message uh out that they want to get out and uh you know he used his for that reason he's one of the best receivers in the nfl but that's why we play four quarters man you know and that's why you know when we're playing the game we don't care about the tweets or anything like that man that's why we just play football so um i wish him the best i hope he's healthy and uh i really don't got time to talk about that anyway so um what else y'all got man i want to want to hit you hit a couple more questions before i get back to my family i can hear deacon yelling for me so um let's see here um [Music] oh whoops stop real quick okay there we go um here you go uh what is when you met kobe what was the biggest takeaway that's a good question when i met kobe bryant uh the biggest takeaway to me um was that he's just always so locked in and focused on everything that he's doing what any conversation i had with him he was there you see what i'm saying you know when he was on the field he was there you're on the court he was there you know when he's in the locker room he's there and it's it's a everyone wants instant results in life and one thing i saw with him is that he he lived every moment to the fullest whatever he was doing he was in that moment to the fullest when he was coaching his daughters uh when he was you know talking to a teammate when he was talking to media when he was playing the game when he was practicing he's in that moment a hundred percent and i think that it's easy especially as a dad as a husband like you get caught up in work and you're just thinking about that stuff and you figure you forget about like when you're at the dinner table you know hey let's put the phone down let's put the ipad down you know and let's let's be in this moment and i think it's just it's motivated me to be try to be the best version of myself in every single area of my life so i could talk about kobe y'all know for hours but it's sleet that's why it's sleeve season but uh you know uh i think one thing i just saw was just how um one thing i saw was just how how focused he is in every moment so um but yeah uh you said uh jerry right here you said i thought it was really cool that you sought out d.a yesterday to thank him what does he mean to what derek carr is you know d.a meaning dennis allen every time i see dennis allen coach allen i thank him for giving me my opportunity and like i said yesterday he probably didn't want to hear it you know not at that moment but um i'm i'm thankful that he gave me a chance and so uh i appreciate coach allen so much for giving me my chance in this league for asking me if i was ready to be the starter of the of at the time the oakland raiders and i said absolutely you know and i remember that conversation like this yesterday you know i'll never forget that and so uh he he yelled at me as i was walking by he yelled at me and i was able to talk to him for just a few seconds but i'm thankful for him always but uh you know i love coach allen he said thank you for the update on the madden ratings they still don't show respect that's okay man hey look we're not in it for that now i always say this no matter how where your rating is there's always room for improvement on madden i love madden it's my favorite game ever i love football i love the game so i got no hard feelings when they get some stuff wrong anymore i really used to bug me you know i'd send them a message like bro what are y'all doing you know i'm over that i don't care they can stay with their narratives all they want the problem is is as we keep winning they're going to have to boost my teammates ratings too so uh i i appreciate i appreciate madden and i love them for giving me the opportunity to help my rating get better so thank you guys um dustin i'll answer your question man um uh thoughts on joe burrow i think joe's a heck of a talent i think he's super competitive i think he loves football the moments aren't too big for him and uh you know i make i'm excited um you know i'm really excited uh for you know for him and his future uh in this league so um really really wish him the best except when he's playing us uh but i appreciate you guys so much um i'll definitely see y'all next week earlier hopefully on monday morning but thank you guys so much god bless you guys Carr is just an all-round classy guy. One of the reasons why I respect him as a player and a human being. He seems to be down to earth, humble, and God fearing.
