Candid Camera Classic: Maxi-Minibar!

[Music] we take you to a hilton hotel where in one bedroom we installed the world's largest mini bar now peter plays the bellman and he's just about to tell this woman about the fabulous service so i just have to give you a little explanation holy cow isn't that great because it's wonderful it really is you've got everything that you could pot let me get it all open for you here and then i'll answer any questions that you might have oh my gracious huh isn't that great it is great yeah these are your automotive supplies isn't it great how long have you been doing this brand new it's just last month we started it yeah yeah for example people go out on a trip and they may have forgotten their underwear well whatever you know to be honest with you it happens quite a lot it does i'm sure yeah now over here you've got soft drinks you've got plenty of chips and uh everything that you might ever need have you ever seen anything quite like that ever wonderful this is like a joke right these are all the products that are now available in the expanded mini bar you see this and you feel like i went to 7-eleven pardon me well you don't have to it's all right here in the mini bar you see and these are your pharmaceutical supplies every room has this yeah it's the biggest mini bars of any national hotel chain isn't that great very interesting but i would prefer a tv over a big mini box oh really when they went to the larger mini bar they pulled those tv sets out really yeah they wanted the big big big big big big mini bar the big mini bar that's like a grocery store there's a way to keep it locked over there no there isn't there is you know they used to do that and they found that the sales went down right so now it's like thrown open right and people are just buying away yeah they don't even realize yeah you know you might have said gee i thought i had one bag of chips and it turns out you had three or so yeah and then the hotel comes out ahead because there's like a sixty percent markup above normal retail on these so that the hilton just loves it right right i'm sure they do yeah do you have a price list no that's part of the thing with a mini bar the customer really doesn't have a fix on the prices because they're not marked but when you check out they're all right there on your bill how much you're spending for your snack until you check out well you know that's what all the hotels are doing now it just sort of seems to work out better that way yeah we don't have all day for you to tell us everything all the surveys that's good thanks though oh i'm obliged to go through each of these things because the bell staff the bell staff gets a commission on what's sold now through the minibar so if i don't point out these things i lose out okay you understand what i mean uh yeah so um it is without a doubt the biggest minibar ever seen on the candid camera television show no it has to be yeah you know on candid camera you haven't told me because you're on candid cameras no yes you're kidding that's the candid camera my name is peter fund from the canon camera show and thank you for being on our show now have you ever seen a mini bar like this please take this money back i'm well paid to pull people's legs [Music] smile you're on camera [Music]
