[Music] good evening curling fans from calgary canada the city of 1.5 million people has played host to the world championship this year since the fourth event here in the curling bubble and as spring comes so does the crowning of world champions see the ice clearing the river's starting to flow on the bow river just north of downtown flowing through the city from the rocky mountains and we're off to the west of downtown canada olympic park and the windsport arena it opened in 2011 and inside we have two curling nations known for their curling prowess doing battle in sudden death playoffs it's time for the playoffs everyone qualification game four versus five seeds it's canada against scotland we started off the week with this matchup why not start off the playoffs the same way thanks for tuning in here to the bkt tires in okay tire world men's curling championship 2021 and as we get you set up we will meet these two teams for canada their lead carrick martin second brad thiessen their third darren molding and skip out of edmonton alberta canada just up the road brendan bocher they'll take on the team out of scotland with their lead hammy mcmillan second bobby lammy third grand hardy and the skip of the bronze medalist in 2018 bruce mallett and now that we are into the playoffs this is how round robin shaped out sweden and rcf had top at 11-2 sweden is the one seed we'll get to that but then the u.s canada scotland and switzerland all qualifying well italy and norway just on the outside looking in then japan germany denmark netherlands korea china rounding out the field here at the championship 14 teams for the first time at a world championship and six into the playoffs so that sets things up now into the playoff bracket and how will get to determine the world champion for 2021. sweden and rcf being the top two seeds they are directly to the semi-finals two qualification games will go to the semis usa against switzerland the three versus six while canada scotland are feature game four versus five the highest ranked team will play rcf in the semifinals the lower seed will play sweden in two semi-finals obviously the winners of those goes to the gold medal losers to the bronze medal and will determine our medalists come sunday night here in calgary now that we got all that shaped out it's time to get to the ice i'm luke coley here with olympic and world champion jill officer both these teams know each other they're comfortable out on the surface it's going to be a lot of fun yeah and you know what as much as this is uh a bubble situation and we only have cardboard cutouts in the stands it's uh i don't know i feel it i feel the playoff intensity here and uh i imagine the teams are still feeling it a little bit too both of them qualifying late last night actually after the draw was over finding out they get to the playoffs and they also get a spot for their countries at the olympic winter games next year in beijing so huge get for these teams in a one-year qualification system relief there now you're into the playoffs sudden death can't lose any more if you want to become world champion yeah and you know this is what the olympic process is like uh playing in those sudden death semi-finals and and then obviously the gold medal game so this is a good opportunity for these teams to put themselves to the test in in sudden death and you know the these two teams particularly play on the uh on the world curling tour play on the grand slams and play sudden death games quite often in the in the playoffs of those grand slam events so they're not unfamiliar to it but it's always a good opportunity to play it at these international events and you see on the right arms for scotland they're wearing a black armband in honor of the passing of his royal highness prince philip the duke of edinburgh is actually an honorary member and past president from 1964 to 65 of the royal caledonian curling club so saddened to hear that news and honoring him in a great way and i'd love to do nothing more than pick up a victory to honor his memory here in calgary part of the commonwealth in canada as well so we should be ready for some fun games to begin a long time since they played that was session one this is now the 14th or 24th i should say session out on the ice yeah it's uh it's gone by i don't know if they feel the same but it's gone by reasonably quickly to think that uh this was the first round-robin game for for both of these teams so um you know a lot has happened since then they've learned a lot about the ice they've learned a lot about uh their performances and i expect to see a really good game here tonight and we will see canada of course you see with the red tops the dark colors they'll have redstone scotland with yellow wearing their whites of course no draw to the button to determine that here it became out of round robin records yeah so canada uh had the choice of taking a stone color or last stone advantage so they took less stone advantage which unless the rocks are really uh a struggle or bad which they're not at the world championships uh it totally makes sense for them to take the last stone advantage so macmillan will get this first playoff game underway so it doesn't quite get to the center line but go right after it and battle these two leads finance will be key to set things up in this game canadian lead carrick martin 31 year old easy even a little back piece okay may as well make the hit low pretty straight okay yeah so quite a bit straighter than they thought and uh kark also slips behind the t line well play hard yeah i think no need for for scotland to get into this uh right away that both teams you know if they get into it great um but looking for a little bit of comfort here as well early on in this first ending for team canada they've had this experience of playing the song so soul game out on the ice in the canadian championship here in the bubble very quiet atmosphere and now scotland gets that for the first time but they play a lot of games in curling clubs where it's that same scenario yeah and i mean there's no denying that it's a little bit different and uh you know with no fans in this big arena and uh you know at least the team the scottish team has been playing all week uh obviously games were also happening at the same time but the uh the quiet uh of it is a little bit more than maybe they had to adjust to earlier in the week bobby lammy a key to this team both seconds will be really key both throwing and on the broomstick really working hard to try and hold the line and rolls out so now we'll see what canada does how they play this first end yeah like what's that eleven two again yeah no surprise really to me that right watcher is gonna peel this we're gonna see lots of this in the game a lot of brooms down with both sides a big scrub to hold that both really good sweeping teams here for sure two great sweeping teams they do in two different styles you see a lot of strength on the canadian side and it's a real good speed on the scottish side yeah and again that that could go back to just the theories that the different teams have on what works best and what maximizes distance or maximizes holding it straight or maximizes making it curl so we see a lot of broom head speed with the scottish team lots of pressure as well with the canadian team we really see lots of pressure there's definitely an emphasis on pressure and a little less emphasis on the speed of the broom head good spot thanks bob so appealing the last they're gonna peel again brad thiessen his second the left-hander for this canadian team so peel that center line brad with the wave to the crowd and yeah there's a handful of folks in the in the crowd the rest of the team canada staff the scottish staff and uh some of the media and social media people with the uh event as well so for couple of people hanging around with a clap here and there just a handful not the loud ovations that you're used to seeing at world championships but almost getting used to it i don't want to want to get used to but it is different you're almost eight foot well i'm i'm finding it quieter in here this evening i feel like i'm lowering my voice a little bit more than i have before so sliding into the rings grant hardy the third for this scotland team yeah and that's okay i i don't anticipate uh canada going around at any point this end i think we'll just see them play it out and have a blank clean clean oh darren molding canadian third obviously the skip's a key position obviously you throw those final stones in an end but let's say the middle of the lineup especially maybe that third spot between grant hardy and darren moldings one to watch if one can get a little edge leave their skipper in a better position for sure and i mean it really it it starts right in the lineup but there's not much to choose from from these guys but uh yep you know that key that that third position pardon me is often very very key uh you know if the front end gets things set up and the third can follow through it leaves your skip in a good good spot so open play here the first end of this qualifying game the winner will be into the semi-final tomorrow again loser you are eliminated it's that sudden death the pressure that'll be on all these teams in playoff games from here on out well and even if these two whoever does not win this both teams are actually remaining in the bubble uh for two grand slam curling events that are happening in the next two weeks so no one's going home technically just be a tough one to sit and watch the other team's playing for sure yeah fourteen nine one swipe twenty two fourteen five yes so bruce mouth will get a chance to play the draw in electing to go with the intern a clockwise rotation with his first stone of this game bronze medalist the worlds 2018. they lost the qualifying game last year or last world championship i should say two years ago in lethbridge and that was to kevin coulee and team canada actually yeah yeah this team has really really come on to the scene in the last number of years and really getting better all the time and their training facility was open all all year with protocols in place but the scottish teams were able to train fairly consistently just playing games against each other which is not quite the same as being on the tour of course but fortunate to have had ice all season on that one sorry curl's a bit more than what botcher thought and will actually roll out of the rings put it next to it i think you're just here even yeah okay so trying to put this in a position now that um perhaps it makes it a little more difficult for brendan botcher to play the blank or that there's a chance maybe that if he tries to play the blank that he actually nuts it on that one out in the corner and sticks for a single point it's not likely but you wanna put it in that position just in case curl if you can and that's why you saw darren go over there to try to sweep it further out so no surprise canada will go with the other turn well he might actually be playing it across the face nope you're right so here's the outdoor markdown that was the first time all week butcher looking to hit roll out keep hammer into the second end of this qualifying four versus five game no score canada and scotland after one end oh boy thanks this one just moved a little a little light yeah yeah good this is nice a little fresh okay yeah i like it yeah absolutely wide backy it's like you're able to have to pick up perfect rollers like definitely do it yeah not perfect yeah teams get their one minute and break and they're set to begin here reset just make sure they have the end plan in mind what they're trying to achieve and this one planning to be tight for hammy mcmillan looks really tight to me yeah i think that um they're good though you know they're gonna try to force it a little bit here again we noticed this from canada in their last game after they won their game last night against norway earlier today against germany that electing you know what let's not do anything super aggressive let's get a stone in there see what the opponent does and then go after it that way not go all out yeah i i wasn't sure what botra would do here because we've also seen them go around the middle but uh this this is a little bit of a simpler shot keeps has a little more intention for a blank if it works out that way i'm gonna draw to the wings definitely gonna be a little quicker well we saw kirk go heavy on his first one in the first end as well so it might just be quicker in general and we'll have to watch for that and see how quickly there's an adjustment made so that canada comes in we see the eight ends minimum must be played now we're in the playoffs 38 minutes of thinking time 160 second timeout teams normally save for later in the game to discuss things a little bit actually canada is going to play hack at this try to remove it and roll to the wing yep wait's well nice second one here for kirk martin to try and tap that one back as he tries to push it all the way through and it'll just get out of the rings great job yeah either you're just playing for nose then yeah okay right from ten five again sorry ten five again yeah both these teams jill we've seen don't have a problem playing with a lot of stones and play but it you've been in the scenario as as an athlete getting these sudden deaths no every end means that much more yep yeah no doubt and i don't know sometimes you have this discussion before the game as to how you want to play the first couple of ends and you know how is there any nerves do you want to be a little bit simple or is everyone really ready and gung-ho to be precise right off the bat so a little bit of a simpler start here for the teams just medium clean down medium there's the hit how far do they roll as close to it yeah good throw say allen hannah get me there's another 10 coach for this scotland team i've been working with bruce maude in that team specifically but now was in his national coach will don bartlett on the other side and the opposite end of the ice usually normally sitting close together on opposite ends here that's one of those things as i as i've now been in the bubble and looking around and wondering what types of things might stay after the pandemic and i think that might be one of those things i think the teams will remain at opposite ends it just it seems less crowded and it gives the coaching staff an opportunity to chat with each other without having to whisper in each other's ears so it doesn't get fully protected maybe tucked a little bit behind that center line guard clean clean this is out here a little bit trying to get it to finish i gotta watch that back one there too it'll just it'll get by but and i think it just spun just be in the room in the rings control thanks [Applause] back and forth yeah there was a there was an attempt to try to bring that play over to the middle you know canada trying to roll over there and and scotland but uh with that roll back out to the wing and it being behind the t line i suspect we'll just end up seeing this play out like this you might see um scotland try to roll behind the card on their last or later in the end good sweep good sweep it's a good shot darren nice well it rolls into the heart of the rings deep in the house 12 okay nice sweet 12 is good so they did roll behind the guard they wanted to just sit there that's fine i like it here's that speed on the broom that we talked about with the scottish sweeping right now trying to make it finish i get enough to tap that one out do they save the shooter i think just easy just hanging on but it'll mean a hit for team canada darren molding both these thirds very close in their round-robin game that was in session one a week ago when it was darren molding playing 79 but throughout the week average almost 84 lanes clean wall clean clean clean nice shot ends to start this off center line guard and then some open hits on either side able to make that roll underneath so barrier weight also known as bumper weight is just the amount of weight that you throw to as if you were going to hit the bumper without touching anything else gotta go sweepers were calling that it was really light so good sweeping by bobby there too keep this one hanging one yeah okay [Applause] just one stone in the house [Music] good probably not seeing either time take team take that risk to play that freeze no definitely no point uh in in doing that now scott will try to roll a little bit here behind the guard given that it's their last one make it a little bit more difficult for canada to try to blank again leave it off that then i think you're still the same and get me one earlier yeah it's 12 four your top four there yeah yeah eleven they're just confirming those hog to hog times tendency would be to maybe overthrow the second one a little bit now they're trying to go finish this as much as they can a great sweep to try and get that to the nose it all started center line guard canada drew away but missed that one and the come around didn't get buried watcher trying to keep it a scoreless game through two ends of play last of the second end for the canadian skip clean clean again no problems so a blank second two in a row to start off this qualification game canada scotland no score yet after two ends at play so okay so no score third in bkt tires and okay tire world men's curling championship 20 21 so we play the first of the play playoff games six teams out of the 14 making it here scotland and canada a win move into the semifinals obviously trying to get to the championship game scotland hasn't won a world man's title since 2009 was david murdoch who's here as the national team coach first in scotland working with that program and will be taking them under the great britain title at the olympic winter games next year david actually uh expecting his third child any time now hoping that his white wife is able to wait until he gets home uh on tuesday that's all hope that works out yeah they have two girls already and they're expecting a boy easy to to david when he gets home and hopefully his wife can hold out you're through a bit of a weird path here he's actually married to a canadian girl if anything it's t yeah it's a stoppage let it die it's not t you're right it's a good shot yeah oh right behind yeah going around this time and uh keeping it above the tee this time too so we'll probably see a series of freezes here in the next few shots trying to set up some angles here we've got a bedroom we're there where then no top 40 no then really close first okay good sweet boys every stone important set up those angles and well managed there by the the sweepers listening to the line and you could play the tap you've just got to get it making sure that they were able to let it curl enough but also get the speed there up to you i like the freeze for now okay okay right on the nose yep [Music] if you're heavy it's heavy we're bit heavy it's close line's good oh still a little bit balanced can't balance yet that's balancing yeah all good well they're trying to talk to it see if the the stone will listen and just a little bounce off it's not the worst one yeah just uh not a super start here for carrick he's just mostly been heavy other than the first rock that he threw here this end and even that was a little deeper than they would like given that they have live stone advantage so it could be a little faster sometimes the ice changes a little bit in the qualification in the playoffs sometimes it gets a little straighter which i've noticed a little bit of and therefore it would be a little faster all right then perfect i tried to wait a long time just for the line and not frozen but i think they like the angles they have okay all right almost get them both but okay do we ever freeze the pocket i like that let's get them i don't mind the double just yeah i like hitting okay really kidding even if all we do is get this seven out yeah it's pretty good okay give me good peel brad would my end be better too or sure does it matter sure intern half rock okay so ankles aren't great for canada here uh so they're gonna play off their own and move that middle yellow one which is really sort of the problem rock for them right now well they want to catch a half a rock this one i'll catch it thick and just unlock it still good angles for scotland didn't turn out horrible for canada if you cross it too much then they don't know if you hit like a half in half it's really nice okay okay probably losing the shirt already solar attack yeah yep probably hate when i see this pretty much well this is just how important those angles are earlier for young curlers coming in as long as we kill this back i think carrick tapped rolled off a little bit and they haven't been quite set up since and it and it wasn't the shot that canada wanted to make but it's not real it's not horrible um now scotland here they're gonna try to hit theirs and get rid of the yellow or the red one but they have to be careful where they leave their shooter here get rid of the one they roll away but do they roll it far enough yeah i don't think they did and they weren't even watching it and now they've sort of left that as something to use for canada and they go hard at this with grant hardy sweeping it and then the roll away no one on it probably could have got it a little further well and if they take it a little further they make it a little more even and make this double harder doesn't stick around just too thin in this end yeah just a little bit i mean it was important to make that double obviously you want to stick it but uh not uh not hitting the second rock or just sitting there would have been a bigger mess make sure yeah really nice shot there by grant i think the weights easy make sure they're ready make sure they're ready see the yellow stainless steel all right wait wait wait just keep going ah boy great throw good shot okay we can throw bumper good bum i want to be able to spin it over here though i like good bumper okay so playing at this wanting to get their shooter over there to group these stones see the leaning on the broom there brad thiessen just gets by try to go as far as they can with it into the eight foot yeah so good shot and now it makes uh it's close yeah it makes it difficult now for scotland to hit that rock and try to roll anywhere to the other side of the rings without jamming yep yep big roll big one big roll roll it hard hard hard it's a good shot so they can roll a little bit but they'll want to be careful here [Music] have to roll but also have to deal with not jamming on their own yeah and they're not going to be able to uh really roll behind yes yeah so short rolls it is scotland lying too buddy so canada now we're going to try to go yep i'm not opposed to yes yes you can sense there's a perfect example you mentioned earlier jill that intensity just goes up a notch you get into the playoffs they know despite just the cardboard crowd there is an intensity that steps up to the next level yeah you know i've said before and i'll say it again at the end of the day the logos are in the ice for a world championship you've got your nation's uh flag symbol or colors on and you know that uh people are out there watching this and cheering for you so canada talked about hitting hitting and rolling under but they ended up going to the wings there's darren harden aaron molding's reaction yeah a little frustration there so again scotland will roll as much as they can without touching their own very similar spot to the last one here's more than you slight roll into lie two we might see canada go to the middle now hit and roll under yeah hope he doesn't stick the runner yeah let's try and roll i guess i've got a chance i think i like easy yep we got to roll a little bit this will be straight let's give it a good go so giving it a good go really an aggressive yeah making an aggressive effort to to roll this because that is the key so not being too uh conservative with the line call and uh actually risking over rolling his first world men's but he's a world junior champ as well in 2012. first time wearing the canadian colors on the men's side of things this one's really moving trying to make that contact and the roll goes big to the other side i like just throwing control out here again right like that kind of weight that one really moved for them it's good i caught it here on the road two stones pretty nice it's an opportunity here now for scotland to uh stick and get the force for canada yeah and really sticking anywhere gets the force but they're talking to try and be aggressive to maybe make a force a draw see if they think about drawing as opposed to a hit yeah which i'm not sure if brendan's throwing a draw yet as well i think that's good sounds good okay no it's been all takeouts for brendon bocher so far no tall clean at least no whoa long as they hit and stick here that's fine still a force nose side of the eight foot okay no surprise seeing the the hit call here with those two in playing all hits so far easy has a lot of room to roll to also for the single point canada scored first in their round robin game a week ago in the first session it was via the steal though scotland winning last stone in that first game canada with the hammer blank the first two clean clean weights good curl clean curl curl clean clean clean clean yup straight straight clean straight sweeper's favorite words clean right to the nose a single point for canada goes up with the hammer scotland will get the hammer back for end number four for the first time in this game it's good guys really nice shot it's a corner then yeah i really like it let's get them chasing us okay let's get into chrome yeah agreed we're getting here miss qualification game four versus five canada versus scotland luke coley here with jail officer the bkt tires and okay tire world men's curling championship 20 21. first time scotland will have the hammer in this game looks like the first stone to go talked about these two countries having a lot of success in the curling but just to get here keep going keep going name obviously carrick martin his dad kevin martin world an olympic champion [Music] emmy mcmillan's father a world champ in his own right they're trying to join their fathers with a world championship title if they can win three games so i think canada is suspected that scotland would put up the uh corner guard mine's perfect just for the weight and they don't necessarily they ken is probably okay with a blank here in an even end they'd be more concerned with a blanket and even end in the second half of the game but probably knowing that scotland was going to put up the corner canada tried to go in and carr just not quite precise with his draw weight tonight he was a little short that time and these teams now we're in the playoffs can pick any stones they want they're actually out when we got to the rank that okay alternates where i was on the ice and they were trying to match stones so canada knew they're throwing red and they're trying to find pairs for each other the players that they liked based on conversations so i should know them yes they should having said that my personal experience we sometimes found rocks because the ice was a little bit different that they that we would find new tendencies in the playoffs sometimes you still you can't take for granted that these rocks are perfect necessarily you still want to pay attention to it because you never want to have an oversight like that but i know there was a couple of times that we experienced a couple of things with rocks in in playoff games that we didn't notice during the week [Music] that's fine almost better to over curl than under curl yeah just force the team canada to go out into the wings which uh you know especially earlier in the game um and and and in the games in general you don't always see a ton of play way out there so it just makes it a little trickier than a trickier shot for canada than it would if they were coming the other way brad thiessen 87 that was second among the seconds and there's a mistake unable to get around it and that's exactly why scotland said it's okay for the over curl because it was going to be a trickier spot for canada to remove it yeah those are nice those are decent ah yeah they'll have that if i do if i if i knows it do they have it let's roll behind the red well i don't want you to roll too far and then they're playing that yeah okay just right under and roll half under the red yeah that's fine even philly under is not bad yeah if i know if he knows it's okay talking a little bit about where they're gonna leave this rock they they know canada is a good hitting team and they like to look at the angles so not wanting to roll too far and leave an opportunity to remove both yellow stones by hitting their own red so trying to leave this in a position that makes a double difficult for team canada bobby lammy is slightly behind brad thiessen fifth among the seconds at 86 percent yep yep yep all right i'll try and make that roll in behind really nice scotland has brought their game there have been sharp no real major miscues in the early going of this game those are a sliver low clean whoa clean clean whoa straight straight straight well run back gets rid of shot stone and leaves them there perfect shot from brad thiessen doubles straight straight straight good shot and you see where they left that as well if you want top range moving two stones here they'll actually be sitting outside of the rings so i don't think you'll see them try to remove both rocks here i think you'll try to see them keep their shooter in the ring somewhere maybe just play off this top one and roll behind that guard close curl curl all right curl gun get in get in get in okay that's fine oh and they will nose it not be in the house so yeah and they really they really had to get across there too to spin that shooter in that was that was more of the key on that shot was to get that shooter in the ring it's gonna be half open easy clean [Music] they will roll right in to lie too but it's a double back that's not bad darren yeah not they didn't want to roll over there but uh but it's okay it's not bad i mean they're still not in trouble i think in the end but okay first of all yeah okay these teams with the hammer obviously trying to score multiple points but they've been very successful in forcing canada 55 force efficiency holding another opponent to one point yes yes really nice shot there by grant throwing enough speed to to get that double you see him power out of the hack here enough speed to get that double and because they hit it thick with that speed yes yes just hit it absolutely perfect because the weight he had to just kicks that one out and and the weight was the key to that role now canada and darren molding need to answer back wanting to make sure they make contact with the back one of course they don't want to deaden at it either well i will make that right over and not quite roll in but makes the double which was perfect for molding very good good shot that's some great shot making early on here in this fourth end good shot great throw that's a great shot the inside edge of it you gotta get it back to me yeah all right all right wait's good that's the danger one scotland's afraid of yeah it's just really tight to the rings and i mean if they tried to play the wide come around with the out turn canada's just got the simple run back so well hopefully get rid of that one yeah i'm just removing this and been really hard yeah all right you're good [Laughter] canada got caught earlier in the week on one of those it should be out but it's up yeah it probably doesn't change our shot no i think we only want a half could very yeah i would agree i might get a jam actually if we top like two three two thirds bury it yeah yeah eight yeah earlier i threw this in practice yeah this is good ice yeah i think it'll be close it'll fight the center line a little bit it's perfect for half ferry so this would be a you know you heard darren say that he threw this spot in in their pre-game practice because the teams weren't drawing for hammer sometimes the teams switch up their practice and they don't throw the outside in draw to the button repeatedly to break down the path so you can see darren through a couple of different paths which is beneficial it helps them in a situation here like this mine's good well brendon botcher ended up round robin 85 that was top among skips go ahead go for weight line's good line will be real nice [Music] yeah really good brushing there by the by the front end and then switching to try to finish it and it's a good spot because even though it it's open a little bit on that uh centerline side there could be a bit of a risk of a jam there and you heard canada talk about that before they threw this right good good just good very good wait that's what i've been giving you yeah so scotland is going to take on the run back here they'll want to dead not this they could they could roll over to there they could roll over to their own or to the other the red one on the side bruce was point one of a percent behind brendan botcher throughout the whole week trying to get this one to the nose i need to crawl hair more and they stay buried okay i like bumper and take center line that's what i like this candle trying to roll under here gives us a little more play yeah for sure bumper yep so try and make that roll and you can see this canadian team seem much more relaxed than a couple days ago when they had a couple of losses they're on the verge of were they going to be in the top six and the olympic spot for canada they get that now they go and just play there's not that uh that monkey on their back to try and yeah you know i mean they still want to go out and win uh a world championship but that was a little extra pressure for um this canadian team that we don't typically see on a canadian team at a world championship and it was the same for all the teams here having to qualify their nation for the beijing olympics based on one event there's a hit and the role will just go a little out the other side makes the blank a little trickier does have to deal with that stone out in front it came off the line a little heavy her bump yeah that's good that curled the top of her pushing it in yeah true big sweep to hold that one good sweet bob okay you just got to see the show of bobby lambie hold that one for bruce they'll take a look last time i didn't measure on the edge of the rings the whole so they will measure this one darren talked about that moment earlier in the week where they thought it was out but it was actually in good well sometimes it's better safe than sorry darren seemed pretty confident that was out and sometimes you just want to be sure i mean they played like it was out we'll see the measure here so it is out and a blank fourth and few chuckles between ends on canada and scotland it will remain one nothing canada with the lead after four no worries it's cool okay i'm cutting down your ice a bit carc well four ends into this qualification four versus five game the bkt tires in okay tower world men's curling championship just one single point put up but then some back and forth play look like canada might have a force for bit in that fourth end and then scotland had a chance for two so been back and forth both teams have to be happy with how they're playing in the early going in this game but not surprising seeing teams taking their chances but calculated once not going all out right for sure and no need to really go all out right now and that it just shows the respect that these two teams have for each other not surprising these two nations that do battle that it's going to come down late trying to battle who has hammer trying to manage that manage stones manage ends manage hammers yeah we especially see that with teams in the second half of the game you know really wanting to have the livestone advantage in the even ends so that they can it's an extra hammer and they can have it uh coming home in the last end keep going well good centerline guard for carrick martin to start off and then a come around or hammy mcmillan your line's good slightly as well just gonna be close freezing again try to get a little bit to the inside of this mine's really good turn around hard line just freezing gotta go keep going gotta go for light i want to get across the face of it when they touch the front it's the first mistake for hammy in this game yeah sliding in a bit as well yeah now you see where it's ended up it makes it easier for canada you see now it sits on the high side of it and canada can nose that remove both yellows well trying to get this on the right spot nose maybe a little in and make the hit and roll that's a good job and we'll lie two for canada early on it's the fifth end very much on edge sorry about i'm not sure they wanted to roll quite as much they could have swept it a little bit so that it didn't roll they could have swept it to keep it straight actually so that their shooter didn't roll as far as it did and that it stopped a little more tucked behind the guard not fully tucked a little down teams have realized not to make that mistake in this spot trying to get this to the inside now i want to try and remove that stone all right they don't but it looks like it's close of who shot stone okay that was anything but overthrown yes yeah a little later than maybe they wanted now calling for run back but we'll stick it on their own and you look as close of who shot stone and now rolls to a corner yeah again really wanting to make contact with the yellow one you can always just do this i kind of like to freeze but i'll make sure i'm there if we're heavy we just curl it and bump it yeah i'd can i give you tight eyes because i don't see it moving much but no they get your 12 huh yeah yeah it should be close i'll give you more here are you no i'm going to give you like a 14 for butler yeah it's probably close yeah i think 14 would be really good if you put this like t-line that's not bad no it's good so playing down to it wanting to play down to it to bump it a little bit [Music] just touch it ever so slightly really nice shot really not a lot of finish out there i i thought that uh i thought that that would even though it was a little more weight coming to the back i thought the dot would curl a little more than it did so canada now actually playing to remove that red one out of the way from behind and just sit in front of the yellow i still love seeing this path just one previous yes now this one's finishing hard hard wasn't gonna over curl that one it's a good shot said shot stone back eight foot very good back line can throw either turn i think i think the end yeah the end looks easier to me similar to same way it's him yeah i got 13. i got 13 as well if we touch the guard we're missing the stone anyway probably that back line right yeah he got passed by bio okay 13 in him there so so same shot as darren is what they're they're calling here just to tap it through and this will be the third in this path so that'll speed it up a little bit it could it could speed it up a little bit and it could straighten it up a little bit not even quite lightly [Music] sounds like it's a little lighter than they wanted though too really got to work to make sure they get this one for shot can you get it they want to get it frozen at this point that's good there buddy just didn't was hoping to play back line at it yeah like quite a bit lighter so it looked like they took a little bit maybe tighter ice than um than canada so sometimes there might just be a path there that's a little bit heavier even though it seems that they've been playing down this spot you tighten up the ice a little bit and it might just catch a different path there is a big difference in a lot more rotation for grant hardy then then this one from darren yeah the less rotation it will curl more so the more rotation will stay straighter and that could be why we saw darren's finish more than scotland do they have enough to get shot stone that's a good scrub that's not a bad spot at all it comes up just a little bit short trying to freeze to it so both sides coming off short on their freeze attempts so a little bit of a hole here maybe to freeze right on that corner of that red could they ever chase after it to tap it out and try and roll it just looks quite tricky we could throw it and try and get this to hear how your nose yeah i think that's actually quite nice bruce yeah thank you i think that red one by leaving it there or tapping it it's actually a benefit to scotland to keep it there right now if they played if they tried to come around and play tap and roll which looks really difficult um it just i think leaves a straight back double for scotland or part of me for canada and then brings the play to the middle which scotland prefers to keep it out in the wings here given they have last time it's good just just freeze on this line just the freeze or t they want to keep the angle on it trying to tap it lie one two keep a good angle really good quite short but it's good yeah it's still nice yeah really good shot and they almost cut second shot out of that too like a a sliver higher or or a hair more of a bump and they they end up sitting too then they're gonna have that though this one on this one and he plays a hit and a roll nice it's three well unless we don't get this back one i guess yeah the other thing we do is throw we know is the yellow for now that's not a bad call we're sacking right yeah definitely second try and block this yeah i don't yeah i don't think we want to roll in we don't want to leave him that again though we'll always have a tap or an out turn draw at the end of this so i like that okay easy yeah we're in the nose yeah we roll a little bit roll a little yeah nose like if we roll a bit he just hit i like bless the nose is pretty good but we can't leave him not to sit three he also can go through the hole though yeah you can go through the hole and sit three with hack pretty easy yeah i don't know at least the one he hits in the top 12 is never scoring like his shooter up there is done yeah you're right easy so a little rule to take that hole away yeah they don't want to give them that opportunity again and and to sit a bundle so just roll rock or half a rock to tighten the hole for for scotland they just want to get rid of this because it's uh it's a benefit to scotland right now and canada can have two rocks in the front and then they'll have something on their last goods okay very good just rolls off a little bit maybe more than they were hoping yeah but still good that i think it was important for them to block that off it still might leave scotland something to get in there with a draw [Music] good okay very good that's not bad actually bruce yeah that's really good if you never get it in here just 12 weeks might even matter yeah that's true do you ever like playing league no i don't know if we make this i think it's really nice if we got we're going for two don't need to fly that's either just normal it's nice yeah yep i'll throw in easy controller trying to take these stones away from canada to use as part of it and um also to just stick it there so that they can use it if needed well bruce and his team had a tight battle this morning in their last round-robin game they were down at one point by three to norway and bruce made it double to score four and that would end up going to win it but they eliminated norway that way they did score a three-ender in their round-robin game in the fifth end against team canada so you heard bruce say they don't want to spin up so they don't want to hit this too thick real close i think they're going to yeah it's a great shot leaves that one in a real nice position to use and cannon has to be careful oh so canada could play the out turn draw here but they almost have to over curl that one that bruce just left there because they really got to tuck it in there otherwise bruce is going to be able to use his rock this is good yeah so they have to over curl disaster to get in there they could play the intern that we saw a lot this end they could play the intern tap on their red one but if they ever over curl they're already uh tapping scotland in to sit second shot which i don't believe they are right now so that has a little more risk so this one they're going to try and come around almost try to get as close to that yellow one at the back of the full back forefoot as they can get past that top as much curl as we can get on it perfect is back four oh there's the perfect exclam explanation yeah real big shot here for canada they need to get it in there and force bruce to play something with scotland line one right now a one-nothing canada lead in this game fifth end of play i like to wait whisper yeah mine's good i just don't want to whoa straight just they get by now they want to try and take it back what a great shot they come down back four foot for shot stone real nice [Applause] there's some nerves of her a little bit because they said they didn't want to yeah i think the sweepers just felt that it was all there for the speed and they didn't want to have to sweep it for line and then you and then you see as soon as they knew they were past the guard they wanted to get as much curl and finish out of that as they could it's a real nice curling shot girl and you see that you see the curl here and the finish and the depth makes it really hard for for scotland to use the the rock that they left there at the top of the 12 foot wherever you like brush your little nose there's not enough of that red in the top of the eight foot to look at on the outside to play any weight it would be really thin because you'd have to hit it off across the top of the one in the forefoot and i'm not sure how much you yeah that's pretty yeah so he's yeah he is going to play at this one he's going to play it it's just turkey to get by that yellow one in the top eight foot so if he makes this straight back onto the red would be for two definitely use touch front end hammy and lamy to guide this one in already trying to make it curl though trying to give this one a chance see if they have a chance to clip it out and they spill it back do they get one out of it great sweep to try but i think they did get one yes it is just the one they confirm it so a tie game we're through five ends of play low scoring but some great action back and forth like great shot best result actually would have been where your jaw would be spinning down here yeah almost to get the yellow level you send need so well this qualification game three four versus five pardon me and the third end scotland has canada forced forcing brendon butcher to play the open hit open third end as we saw the previous two this one right to the nose and a single point for canada to start off this game fourth end you see that canadian stone botcher just rolled a little bit too far for canada yeah meeting bruce has this hit and roll out to blank the end a big sweep from bobby lammy to peel that one out that's stone on the side not in so we'll be a blank adamant in the fifth end with the hammer tap here for bruce mallett try and tap this one on the nose go right back you can punch that one back chance to score two bachelor made a great final draw keep going and all the way bobby lambie trying to get this to curl they'll make contact with that red and spin it out to score one meaning we are all tied after five here is the playoff bracket as we determine who will become world champ on sunday sweden rcf top two teams into the semi-finals this is the four versus five qualification game winner will move into the semis along with the winner of three versus six that's the united states and switzerland of those two teams the highest seed remaining will play rcf the lowest seed will play sweden in two semi-final games tomorrow winners to the gold medal losers to the bronze and that's how the playoffs will play out here at the bkt tires in ok tire world men's curling championship 2021 yeah so um you're popping your hand just a bit too much right and then you're getting over the heavy stuff right and then it doesn't curl and it comes light yeah so just yeah i just have to stop yeah just like you're doing another brighter at the end oh it's good yeah it's just the exact opposite of last year yeah good there's not been a lot out there for a while though like it's everything's here and it's pretty close to that yeah yeah sure yeah okay no it's hard to say but you only had much with heart wheats or anything like yeah yes so here are the stats in this four versus five game after five ends one one is the score overall percentage advantage to scotland 86 for canada 94 for scot for scotland draw percentage 83 for the canadian side 97 for scotland hit percentage 87 for canada 92 for scotland great numbers low scoring affair we're in for a fun final five ends okay we are inside the windsport arena our live coverage of the bkt tires and ok tire world men's curling championship 2021 continues tonight and then through the weekend as we determine who will become world champion in 2021 we know the two-time reigning world champion nicholas sadine the top seeded nation going into the playoff round they'll get the lowest seed in tomorrow's semi-finals and in this one five ends to determine who will move into those games and then tomorrow morning it's the united states and switzerland some great curling action to finish off here in calgary alberta luke coley with olympic and world champion jill officer you see a 1-1 score sometimes you think not all that much going on but it's good first five yeah and and maybe a little more simple in the first two or three ends but really no surprise but these last couple of events have been really really interesting and scotland uh you know was setting up for a potential deuce last end and some good rock placement and a good last shot by brennan botcher and tough shot for two for mullet tough last shot for two and watcher doesn't make his it could be three four there could be a big number up there instead it's just the single listening in it was don bartlett was talking to kirk martin just with his interns a little bit he was popping him out getting a little wider so some of the results not there seeing at the 83 mark for the game yeah and he uh and that can affect your speed because if you're popping them out a little bit you're getting into a different path and maybe what you're expecting and we've seen him be heavy a couple of times and again okay yeah it does right so talking about it timing okay and this goes back to the rocks yes the teams were allowed to have rocks pick rocks from any sheet uh but again my personal experience is that sometimes we something changes whether it's the ice or whatever in the final or in the playoffs that sometimes those rocks can be a little bit different still no you can't go no i can't bounce boys you're not right okay all right it's a little bit on the angle for hammy mcmillan just one little miscue at 98 percent in the first five ends [Music] trying to drag this over across the line here okay okay i think we're probably better yeah sometimes always tough to know how you want to play that when it's not the result and not coming down the way you want it to it's often better to make a call than to hope you're just trying to touch the center line i just agree black's not bad he's playing this freeze hey guard just now we take two exactly regardless now yeah tight guard yeah i like that yeah i like this probably want to put it not too tight yeah just so you can't go there just touch the center line i think okay joe we brought it up a little bit earlier just about even ends and things you're already here in scotland talking about that very analytical thing they they study that and the percentages we see 90 on the game for bobby lambie but percentages of okay we get a blank then we four and seven get two and eight obviously it's easy to say you're going to do that you have to execute it yeah that's just it and so sometimes you have to change your your plan a little bit depending on on execution but right now they're uh actually making a bit of an aggressive call here to play the tight guard i think we have to freeze right now without her i guess that's okay too my first thought was the double peel i don't mind it you might even get them all yeah is this situation's not going to be real close brad superb necessarily for canada with those two red stones being behind the t line and um potential double on them as well so canada's gonna get these guards out of their way well these double peels become almost a necessity for teams trying to get both of them and just over the top for brad thiessen you're trying to sit on almost two thirds of the rock okay i mean that's easy on the out turn but this one probably narrowly misses that second one whatever you like bob that's fine okay yeah even half stone's not bad you know from fully as long as we said i agree yeah so just playing the draw around here freeze right on top of their the own thing about where this yellow one is for scotland is that if canada tries to come down especially if they put another one on top if canada tries to come down and play anything on it tapping it back or anything it goes back onto the red one that's at the back eight foot and then the other red one is wide open for scotland well they waited online did they wait too long behind yeah they certainly wanted that frozen but you never wanted to um be heavy and tap it want to make sure that the right angle because now the run back comes for brad thiessen try and come up catch one of them and we'll end up losing their own off the top one better good job pretty good pretty good shot yeah yeah they got rid of the good get rid of the guard and move some stuff around and that that red one as much as it was canada stone it wasn't necessarily doing a whole lot for them i really don't like gardening now even if they could make that can't they think we just stuff that and roll teddy four yeah okay i mean they're probably coming around yeah nice if we can set two if you're still around the corner yeah yeah with no easy double yeah we could roll it barrier and roll or hack either or so that same hacker three two ends ago okay probably certainly yeah i was going to give you an inch less but no honey it doesn't actually do as much you think you can hold it hold it and hammy's saying maybe a little more he's the one that's got to sweep it the whole way if it's going to be yeah sometimes there's a sweeper and the person in the hock says they're going to throw a certain something and as a sweeper you just think in your head okay deep breath i might have to go on this one oh clean clean yup clean just clean whoa i'm trying to go yellow to the red get the little roll to the side of the forefoot get there and we'll lie three good shot it does leave these yellow ones behind the t line if canada chooses to just clean them try to use them watch this bob watch that's not involved so cam is going to come around this corner guard here just come around you top biting eight foot they want to put it in a place that if scotland tries to play at it it might jam on the back yellow okay max probably that's not bad you don't need to don't t is too deep because that's going to be even with the scottish stone this one continuing to slide not much from the canadian front end goes back okay and it'll be fourth shot in the house yeah i think we just got it okay you go up and peel that corner where'd you like now i don't know do they do just come here you could yeah you could do that and just throw it out covering this one yeah they may be doubling i think so i i think i like coming around great the thing with peeling is that canada would still have a little bit to work with in terms of um the yellow stones and where they're sitting sorry hey john edge okay that needs maybe okay edge on edge adrian looks good to me top four top eight yeah yeah he was 14 how good are you yeah yeah i got 42 in it pretty much 15. yeah high 14's 50. so it sounds to me like the ice is a little faster here tonight we were seeing uh earlier in the week we were seeing times closer to 15 and then especially after they did the rocks mid-week we saw the speed get a little bit heavier more of a 14 14 2 14 3. and now they're talking closer to 15 again we're top 12. yeah we're getting close to the park come on how many ever you've got well really working to try and get this one as far as possible went to that to the rings and it was 16 seconds hog to hog yeah and for a 16 second draw to even make the rings means that it's pretty quick ice we know we'll get a look at darren molding's time on this draw grand hardy much more rotation so it'll go a lot further yeah the more the more rotations will carry a little more mine's good it's good max line then okay curl curl curl trying to come right down to this back one here mine's great girl you gotta go hard gotta go gotta go gotta go hard that's a great spot very good nice shot well just to the back of the forefoot it goes in my uncover you saw the difference in time obviously that wasn't swept the whole way like the scotland stone yeah if we stack it he makes a double underneath but then we just freeze i guess yeah suppose max line then okay curl curl curl just play the weight line's great girl you gotta go hard gotta go gotta go hard that's a great spot very good nice shot normal thing can i throw a bit more weight i agree normal yep so now scotland will use that stone that they left with grand hardies and that was the only thing with the the canada stone is they would have liked it right down to the the scotter stone so that it made it harder for bruce to remove now with that little bit of space it's a bit of an opening for for bruce to play the run buck [Applause] well try and run this one back and we'll stick it in behind cover but that little roll underneath now there's some backing for canada yeah it leaves a bit of a freeze opportunity here again and there's quite a bit going on in that back corner kind of on the right as we see it here so that's that's good for canada similar speed hey let's freeze on half of it yeah and you saw with where bruce hit on the run back his shooter rolled just a little bit more to that board side away from the center line so making any sort of run back on that a little trickier than it was the first time brendon botcher 91 on the game mine's real good gotta go get shot hard life's good hard boys trying to drag it as far as possible and they'll get it into the eight foot it's third shot exactly all right yeah yeah oh for sure put it here yeah there yeah just uh a little light and you know sometimes uh you're watching everybody come a little bit heavy or seeing the times being a little faster and harder to overcompensate perfectly so for scotland here really important for them not to put this in a place that it leaves a triple for canada bruce that's absolutely fine that's absolutely fine yeah and he's guarding that one so they take away the hit forcing brendan f to draw no yeah and to i mean he might still have the same draw but they really don't want to put anything much deeper than that because it could leave an opportunity for canada to play a triple of some sort and sit for two so they don't want this deep and that's why you heard them say being a little bit higher even if they're not third shot is just fine bruce was just taking an extra look at those monitors at each end seeing the angles from the other side we've been heavy actually oh yeah pretty good shot they would have liked it maybe to curl a hair more but they couldn't over sweep it they couldn't afford to be too deep on that so uh the tolerance is just to be a little bit quieter and they were trying to wait for the line yeah at least we know the speed there on that same draw i like that take a little more yeah take a broom more so throwing the same path because he just threw it he'll throw a little bit more weight could i even have one room more but this is a draw against you every shot becomes that much more stressful facing a couple i liked it last of the sixth and a one-one game is good just through mine's great straight line weight only clean though straight mine's good i got to get a piece of the forefoot just staying close on this the whole way down and that is absolutely perfect right to the t line single point for canada and the third single of this game scotland gets the hammer after another force 2-1 after 6. yeah in comparison to the first one that felt quite a bit heavier so that's perfect yeah okay guys good that's a great score there okay boys yes i can get a point like a bank here or something i like it you i think that's max yeah remaining here in this qualification four versus five game canada and scotland both with identical nine and four records canada winning their round robin match-up in session 196. seventh end was a key one in that that game with canada stealing two points good job on their way to that win good the seventh hand starts center line guard for team canada yeah they'll want to force it a little bit here to try and force uh scotland to a single in this odd end where 14. t hammy top button fill four now good good nice judge boys top four so important come around so to start the ends canada have been chasing a little bit on a couple mentioned carrick martin just he's getting out a little bit wider with his intern that one's there now trying to get right down to it i didn't think so yeah he's it's not the carc has been it hasn't been bad it's just been a a little bit of precision here and there that we normally see from him um i think the ice is a little straighter tonight which would make it a little faster we are seeing that with the times good shot good shot and uh nice adjustment there by carrick on the speed like a foot or you just get inside say weights give you yeah same weight perfect yep same weights oh more hair more no no [Music] yeah really nice to get to the inside of that ah you don't have to you can throw top four and kind of clunk into it it knows yeah yeah whatever you see that's great if you can get it just off this one okay give me top four weight yep so just enough to to tap that a little bit maybe have those yellows sit on the corner of each other to make them easier easy to double out at some point whoa well sticking with their game plan but it's kenneth and brad thiessen kark martin trying to get them in a better position they've been chasing a little bit brendan's played very well it's top four way got a curl trying to get a force back i'm trying to set these up turn the top this yellow one about a foot it's a good shot yeah very nice just moving changing the angles this is maybe sticking around good job do we ever go over the top and try and spin everything yeah it's not possible eclipse might not have enough weight to move forward that far probably do and is that thinking blank for sure yeah and yeah scotland for sure is okay to blank this end having the last stone in the eighth uh yeah two thirds is it first speed on this oh trying to slash it over the top see them all go sorry bobby touches that one yellow over they just over swept it and hit it a little bit too at all thin tough on the goal yeah i thought it slid pretty high and then dropped it okay yeah let's see [Music] yeah and they just hit it too too thin but they um bruce commenting that that bobby slid slid a little full and then dropped it meaning kind of squared it in or turned it in a little bit or just like sort of let it go without a nice clean clean straight release so anticipating that it would curl a little bit more than it did and then it didn't which is why they hit it too thin i think we throw easy at this he's got to hit those well then it's a double back yeah i'm trying to roll to the center line yeah okay what kind of weight easy all the way all the way all the way home we've seen this a lot carrick's saving shots him and brad thiessen trying to hit and roll that is the roll out now definitely brings a blank possibility it'd be nice to roll to the wing but just make a double yeah i don't want to go crazy for it like a hair higher whatever turn you like just a nice peel in the end i think okay yeah so it's just important to make the double here they talked about the roll but that's sort of the last of the uh priorities here they just want to make the two reds to go away because if even if canada has a double back it does keep that blank open for scotland hold it there want the double and do they have enough to kick that red one out don't stop trying to keep it going so it doesn't spin back at the end and really nice result because they actually did roll a little bit the the one way do you want to play this yeah i think so hey it's like half a rock yeah thick half okay right out here's the work and don't let anyone say a skip can't sweep as they actually get that one out getting that out of the rings is a big difference because now canada plays this double and there's nothing in the rings it was a big deal for scotland to get that out because it keeps that blank but a mess on the double for darren molding will roll out now a chance potentially for two that was uh yeah big miss for darren yeah i mean you seem sleepy yeah obviously we've talked about the scoring and the even ends and getting it to that position you're not going to throw away an opportunity to score a deuce here if you're scotland yeah i i personally would not no and they've been hard to come by yes and i don't think they would either so you're going to see them draw to the i think they'll draw right down to that back one that uh bruce tried to or that bruce did sweep out you've got loads and loads yeah we're always just t okay top button p-line top button blind's getting better we're just going to go even mine's great top button boys or leave it higher or leave it high yeah okay all right thank god yeah i could sweep get there i want to be about a foot and a half or two feet deep but i wanted to be even on that because i think darren can now play the play the double at this oh no a thin half okay thin half okay yeah they're quite happy to have darren make this and have have the blank possibilities still open it's not the end of the world that they didn't put that quite in the right place didn't like it out of his hand trying to curl trying to catch this one thin and that will get nothing two misses and worst possible miss watch this release for molding just a little flip back there and they knew right away they had to go and just even with the sweeping they're not getting that one back to try and make that double yeah so oh big uh big opportunity here for scotland to spread these rocks out and draw to lay three that double will still be there for for brandon but those misses aren't early and then this is getting late we're into skip stones when this one stops pretty good we're good sit down good good shot right well we've seen throughout the week when darren's had some misses he's reset himself to make sure for the line call oh so they'll just play the double off the or on to the one on the left that grant hardy just put there oh another shot at a double here brendan bocher well get one make the double and there's one to help out a skipper comes up with one still on for a two in this position but that's better than three for team canada oh look at that right two you're making that double that's probably close enough so now it's a point of trying to just finish off make the hit real long i don't know if there's a feeling any crosshairs double yeah that would be uh okay it would be tough be very very flat if he does stick on the nose so i don't think you would see brendan take that on if he rolls any to the middle there might be an opportunity so there's those two both top part of the house this one with peel and try and if you ever got here that's pretty good give me where we gonna hit it so you're gonna try to roll way over and uh if they make a good roll then it makes it a little bit tougher for for bruce it's not a simple open hit or open draw and gotta throw peel cause they want to roll it flat so they have to throw it hard hit it thicker and roll it flat more parallel with the center line not parallel exactly but more parallel so made a double with his first now looking for the big roll brendan botcher's last try and make the roll just a little off had a tough roll to make but gave it a solid effort yeah same as jamie's playing his edge opportunity the first deuce of the damn game can go to scotland roll it roll it no yeah just uh need to hit that thicker especially with that speed and canada is just happy that uh you know with an outright flash this end that they're not giving up three you know the double one departures first for team canada was crucial but now bruce malwitt trying to find a way to get into the medals for a second time at a world championship bronze medalist two years two world championships ago three years ago 2018 needs full 12 foot or better all right bruce good job and it will come down back of the button bruce mallett scotland will score the first two of the game and they will have the lead for the first time heading to end eight three two scotland leading yeah when you're ready so the eighth end after the first deuce goes to the scotland foursome they have a 3-2 lead their first lead obviously canada now coming in has two hammers to scotland's one but scotland has that one point lead at this stage of the game the bkt tires and okay tire world men's curling championship 2021 nice judge luke here with jail officer nice and tight for scotland that's a chance to sort of take that momentum for the first deuce in the game for canada though they do have two hammers to one here and they have the last stone advantage here in this end so it'll be interesting to see how they bounce back after a couple of misses at third possession position last end including an outright miss which we haven't seen any of this game come on get it here yeah and you look no one in for scotland's below the 90 percent on the on the accuracy for this game makes it tough you gotta you know you have to step up your game that next level so see the high corner guard for team canada narrow wings perfect here donald really tight no then no no no no no no no weight's perfect really tight whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa wait we're just open for wheat that's a great show honey good spot yeah and you see how it just curled a little bit past the the straight on guard but that's okay because he guarded the right side of it wanted to guard the side where the corner guard is you leave that side up the the center line side open and it leaves an opportunity for canada here so we look at comparison of positions in 96 for hammy well karc martin 86 percent and it's a good number but had a lead position for sure and we've talked about it already just a couple of early uh miscues by by cara just be a little deeper than he normally would be but he's he's certainly uh great shot yeah he's certainly got his speed figured out now top it's okay who sets up the angles weight's perfect wanting to get a little to the inside of this can't leave it high no okay yeah i don't even care if the yellow one goes out yeah okay it's like a third she's playing a bit of a tick here to try and roll behind that guard you heard brandon say he doesn't even care if the yellow one goes out it's not about the yellow one it's about trying to remove the yellow one off the center line but also the key rolling the shooter behind that guard whoa yep all where the shooter goes they want this one to be a keystone in the end that works out really well for canada getting it in and opening up the center line you got this quite struggling to get inside okay it's there so did come out the other side i can try it hack if you want looks good at hack okay remember he caught the guy yeah i will curl here okay they're talking that was back in the fourth end playing here brad hit the guard i don't know if it had quite the weight that they needed to make that yes i agree it was a little bit quiet for speed but uh for scotland they don't they want to be sure they don't want to they also don't want to rub the guard here so they'll make sure they have the speed no problem with the guard now get the little roll in that one redstone top of the forefoot so you're going to freeze on this even if you kind of just drop in the realm of beside it yeah yeah you see the way the ones are set up here in the middle right now we talked about scotland maybe not quite getting to the inside of it when they were playing the the come around freeze and because of that it's a situation now that's pretty good for canada to be able to remove those yellow stones and obviously their redstone would stay there so that's something that they're waiting they're just leaving that situation there waiting to use it later and they really gotta go in the end may as well make it a usable guard okay well brad struggles there to get it into the rings trying to use that one as some backing don't think you're ever getting out smashing this into age four okay bruce let's make it yeah easy peel not disaster oh there's that yeah picking the back one's probably better but yeah yeah so pick the red pick maybe either the yellow they're saying is okay yeah but just kind of getting getting this situation unlocked you can see enough of this red to just pick it out and grant's been playing having a great game oh don't curl up really close clip the red oh can't see much of it and picks that one clean you'll probably only see about it a little more than an inch of this hit a little thinner than what he could see and just spins that one a bit you know line four double and sit shot stone trying to make sure that they can still score yeah i mean that's part of it at this point but i think if uh you know and they needed to get those ones off the middle i think if they uh can still get a deuce set up here they would be quite happy with that they're always going to have it off the top as well i know well you don't i think you'd be able to chase it if you stop right on it yeah true okay just try and get to edge on the edge of that even just half under it's probably nice yeah then you should be making this it's sticking well half under this side yeah don't like on that side brush okay half under this side if it makes the top double you should be able to chase it i think yeah okay even edge on edge good nose is also good do you like the end kind of like the end but it's yeah i know the end yeah it's fine controller okay barry really they laid out all the options there and nose is fine but they are trying to roll it a little bit underneath their own and they say barrier weight so with the scotland teams they always use that that's board weight board bumper barrier all the same it depends barrier always sounds better when you come from scotland depends on what part of the world you come from you want to roll a little bit underneath just a hair more than they thought but it was one of their tolerances the key though is getting rid of this one yeah it's uh two-thirds two-thirds with peel yeah it's gotta be an out-turn though okay the intern you're not gonna get enough yep into this one there's a little bit of the engineering background with brendan and and knowing all the angles and the math side of it got to throw it this way so what angle is better on that one to throw the out turn yeah there's more throwing the alternate there's more action off and because he has to go across the house he needs that action well and catches it too thin just kills the one those are even in the house the rare backswing and then darren molding with the out turn and with that you do try and get it to curl but how much impact can they have on when it's coming down yeah six seven seconds down the ice oh it's probably could have even been five but yes uh absolutely it uh i mean it's worth trying but uh it's hard to have that same impact in that short period of time but a game feeling that momentum continuing to go scotland's way but still close we've seen this so many times you just stay close you know canada make sure that they can score this end and then you're tied with two ends remaining yeah and you'll have the if you can force scotland in nine you'll have the last one advantage in ten so this is a pivotal wait it's real good right there that's fine that's fine this one's good just to the back edge of the button yeah see the numbers of both skips playing very well in this match bruce malwitt 95. brandon botcher 88. we're a lot of hits early in this game simpler style of play but now trying to score their two yeah and they're gonna freeze to this back one and just really hope that uh bruce maybe i'll always have a double though off the side like he'd have to make it really good yeah oh yeah hold some okay hoping that bruce maybe misses i can't see that if they freeze this that now it would freeze on top it would probably blast the wide open freeze to try and get rid of unless this is made perfectly yeah and this has to be made perfectly really so right on the nose right dead frozen mine's good gotta go for line he's only thrown four draws in this game hardline back two ends ago drew against multiple counters to score one hard line you got it hard gotta weld this one right on the one back button now they're just trying to hold the line a little bit here nice shot great weight just over curls slightly yeah and just enough to give bruce that opportunity to just get rid of it if you want get rid of it so it is shot stone for canada but mallet having those other ones in the rings can plays a couple different ways you could peel it out stick there they have the other two to still keep a force yeah i think they're just going to play to to get rid of it because of that stagger goes fairly easy canada faces three well both sides knew they were going to get the best from one another has been faced with a tall task and has won scotland playing very well but this is to tie the game up and a draw against a couple two ends ago for one this is a hit against three curl curl curl girl clean curl girl well no real panic on the call but trying to get it to curl just to make sure good job get by that a little roll away but sits in the forefoot and canada gets their one we're tied up again 3-3 after eight two ends remaining here in this qualification game a little bit good scrubs let's get the one yep 12 4 12 4 yeah okay because even if they make a good one and we go in they don't really want to peel that guard the whole end yep so okay let's go guys it's getting a little slower right yeah yeah and then it could have been fourteen five or four yeah i'm usually a couple tenths yeah i was i was a little more like early okay let's make a bunch of shots here yeah let's go maybe even six each we'll see yeah all right here we go hi so the ninth end of this qualification game the bkt tires and okay tire world men's curling championship sudden death playoffs from here on out these two teams nine and four in the 13-game round robin it comes down to two ends to see who will move on who will be eliminated good it's one one two that's good that's good that's good one two canada gonna go long first they really want to force here force a single point here for scotland i wasn't sure what scotland do i thought they might think about the tech this right around to play the come around so many different ways to look look at the game in its entirety and you try and get into those of who has control who has momentum scotland's controlling the play but you can still say canada is positioned well in a tie game scotland with the hammer in nine yeah like it's like canada has the advantage but scotland has a bit of the momentum um that's my feeling here right now and that might be why scotland i mean if scotland scores two here um you know that's a pretty good situation for them too do you want a broom less ice sure line's good it's a bit heavy stay close bro it's almost 10. yeah top 12 the line's real good it's in uh uh it's cool it's very close well probably your lines need to be very probably in it's in oh now it's done no it's dying no no no no it's good trying to get this one to stop that's a great pair from carrick martin yeah really really nice there lots of separation that second one is nice and tight to the rings just before we started it was darren saying you know what let's all make four great shots maybe six if we have to but and that's what they have to think about at this point i mean it's a tie game um you know and like we said canada technically has a bit of the advantage here with uh just on top of it if they can if they can force scotland here and they have a bit of an advantage and uh if they can just look a little bit more forward and not worry about what's already happened and that's really what scotland has to do too line's good weight's good for the freeze line's good for the freeze too line's good we're tapping a hair well then wall then well real close well max line if you're tapping whoa yeah so they're trying to get as much to the inside of this no no no because they can let's try to let that one work wow that one came right in nicely did yeah playing the single single red just get it let's see a minute bruce huh harney's wondering if i just peel the one in the house but yeah it's not bad call what have you got a third half okay and he's here yeah yeah just like there's a thought after you single feel whatever one you like bruce make a goal yeah i think i still like the peel at this stage at the end i'm good with the single yeah i think so yeah i agree because i think if they if they play the one in the house um they're losing their back one as well and then canada can just wrap around everything again make it better okay you're fine nice yeah i don't mind this yeah i mean that always goes so well those are discussions you're always talking about what about that and we either got to be nose on our on our red one or on the yellow or we if we could ever curl and bump in an inch that's great but okay we kind of got a pick same weight and is that picked before or as it's coming down see how the line is and then make that decision well it sounds to me like they're going to pick as it's coming down based on the throw and the speed that the sweepers communicate i personally as a thrower would want to know exactly where i'm trying to put it very different it seemed for the result we're a little tight yep this one's really moving looks really tight they'll be going for that yellow one now if they can get a bye just a click and do they still get it to the nose okay that's not the end of the world that rock seems to be gone more that was a tight tighter throat yeah yeah we got bye-bye i think over the top and lose two of them yeah yeah this yeah i almost pushed that one underneath it do you think one just drags down yeah yeah okay so you're trying to just do this then yeah yeah then go hard in the middle one i think you're half stone okay that's good three so just gonna try and slash this get the action um of the the red one in the top eight foot spin that one out and the one that they're hitting well even with the sweep not really a chance to get that one there just peel was the option of missing okay so you just uh see him power out sometimes when you're powering out at that speed there's not much time for correction and you heard bobby say just had a bad slide right when you're out of the outside of the broom there's no way getting it back yeah especially on those peels just because you're coming so fast this way worse like this red doesn't have to go much farther this way and he can just hit it on the nose and get this one out well i was thinking like pushing it back into the eight footer oh sure yeah if you could get it back here it's not bad your shooter though if he can if he can ever blast it this way yeah i think we're guarding i think we're guarding for now okay i'm with you yeah i can't imagine he's not hitting it if he does hit it we have two centers again so just electing to throw the guard not wanting to being concerned about moving the stuff around the way it is right now and leaving them an opportunity to just get rid of the red stones if anything it's got a little bit of curling to do but it's close okay curl curl they tried to get it to curl at the end curl there's the backwards sweep we've seen he tries to get the same angle you're good you're good you're good you're good good nice shot now appeal coming for grant hardy i think we're guarding again regarding this rock really i'm wondering if we want to put one right in the middle that way if he if he makes a play we can still get to our red but what uh if we leave him this whole yellow rock what do you think he has well he just doubles the double and then they're buried underneath no this one's hitting this one yeah okay he's he's always hitting his rock off the button that rock's moving oh yeah that's i'm good then i thought it was missing it no no okay i like this then it's gonna drag wherever he hits it it's gonna drag all good okay straight guard the two same place like we've said before darren and brendan take our jobs quite easily they usually lay out the plan pretty clearly and talk about the options pretty clearly so sit back and listen exactly but uh just wanting to protect this red one so that um scotland can't can't play at it your line's good and scotland's going to have to make the decision about when to make a move here hard trying to get [Music] this is ninth end it is a tie game scotland with the hammer yeah you need to 12. yeah like 12 seconds or yeah 12 seconds you could throw hack and try and just stick it on the yellow like quarter stone it's nice to keep two of them though i know i would still just stay back eight yeah you can do that with 12 as well okay i'll just try yeah 12 seconds in the house 10 seconds yeah 12 seconds sorry okay so 12 seconds is about um like a hack weed so throwing it as if the stone was going to stop at the hack if it didn't touch anything he's good quite light he's good we're done hair down will curl more there's the speed of bobby lammy trying to get this by the guard oh hold it now they got to go to curl it hard hard part right to a spot that i think if they knows it that red one goes that's the shot for sure girl girl bobby lambie slapped the hole i swept the whole way and then gets this after ready to go again we either want to make it or we want to roll big like this isn't a bad shot is that good or not yeah roll over to here we gotta call one or the other because they're totally different um what do you like oh i think we try and make it good okay i like it too and you're right there is a just if you if you go here he just plays that and that's we got to make this good yep let's rock sure okay topping that yellow one wanting to just roll right in front you just roll half onto it if he blasts we might get a force these are always fun fun ends to to just manage the angles you see obviously the peels and the guards put up to wait and who makes the first move here was scotland making their move this one's taking off on them just gotta anticipate that curl make the hit good shot roll off to the corner beauty very good and that works out quite nicely i thought they were gonna the way they panicked there and the way it looked like it was really curling i thought they were going to overroll yeah at that point where you heard darren go whoa no roll no roll good shot real nice hard hard if you did that and see he's spun over the top he's losing everything you have that for a blank you can't kill that it's true i don't think so it's never going far i quite like this guys yeah i think so yeah thin half thin half's pretty close and just try and sit it right there yeah okay i've thrown this peel just that easy peel again okay i'm good with the same easy peels right off of their own trying to get that red one uh that brendan just left there trying to get that one out of there but they want to hit this in such a way that they just kind of they don't want to dead not it on the corner or right into the side of the the red one they want it sounded to me like they wanted to spin up a little bit so that they're creating a better angle in front of that other red and yellow that are in the forefoot yeah that said even if they play it they might blast it then you might have a go at the blank or even if you give up a steal of one you have the hammer down one playing ten right first skip stones for bruce mallett in scotland clean clean clean yep catch it thin off their own and we'll spin up just ever so slightly that's nice okay spun up a little more than they wanted still scotland lying one clean clean clean yep see and then it spins up and kind of toward us that's nice actually spot a fair bit more than i thought yeah you can hear them saying like sits it sit they wanted it to stop so the only thing that scotland has right now for two is this out turn draw to the button right here canada's looking at guarding it blocking off that path yeah i doubt he would even try that like running that in that's pretty risky if he blocked the drop here yep yeah we wanna he's always going to try and get around the one i throw on this on this r or just here like right right there yeah touch the r it looks like it's got to be an intern okay draw to the other side of the forefoot that's got to be close yeah so throwing it throwing the guard across the middle sometimes when you're trying to throw uh not a corner guard so far over um and not it's just easier to play it this way as opposed to uh still play the uh out turn outside in where you might over curl it's over there really yeah that looks like a lot of ice to me okay we've seen crossing center not getting fairly straight compared to throughout the week yeah they're wanting to let's guard the edge of the forefoot here straight up straight top 12. [Music] good stay top 12. yeah well tight clean let's get over a little they don't want this deep trying to guard the draw it's good [Laughter] do not touch it it stops just in time bruce is actually going to play through the hole here to try to just play off of that yellow or the red one and spin into the button you're really close thanks back four yep so you're just gonna rub off of the red one on the top forefoot try to spin into the button here just back forefoot forward maximum that kind of 14 weight right off here take back four's your weight loss my lying one right now the tie game has the hammer a lot of people back in scotland watching it's 4 30 in the soon as we'll buy that one morning let me know that was cool staying up or getting up to watch this game haven't won a world championship 2000 since 2009 to win this one to have a chance wait it's really close big shot for two here for bruce wait wait really good got it back four really good back yep [Music] [Applause] what a great shot they barely got by that that red guard and then they swept it to curl just enough to rub what a s team shot bruce scotland able to score two rolling off looking and just listen they're sweeping because they know they have to keep it straight they also got to get by this red one [Music] get in there come on that was well managed that was a tricky little port there [Music] all four scottish members making that shot to score two and earning it and a 5-3 lead in this qualifying do it against us so the tenth end and what a finish to that ninth end hopefully this game finishes up with as much excitement as we just saw there two-point game second deuce of the game and both coming in the back half of this one for scotland that's sort of been the downfall for the canadian side is the second half of these games yes and uh you know now they're here they are down two even though they have the last stone they really wanted to force there but what a great shot by bruce mowett looks like it's six buttons really good this is the 10th end bkt tires in okay tire world men's curling championship 2021 or the winsport arena calgary alberta lukola here with olympic and world champion jail officer canada's got the work cut out for him now just have to focus make the halfway make the shots right now line's good nice shot very good good shot good good we've actually seen it a number of times um this week where a team is down to with and they score three or four points to take the win so if the execution is there there's a chance canada's seen it happen against them they want to turn the tables and do it against someone in this qualifying just game top twelve at best all the way hard boys for top twelve hard get it in get it knocked around ah sorry girl turtle curls curl curl now just trying to finish it so that they're not too staggered i think we need to go high on this one sure okay well many different philosophies of how you go about it in a tight corner they're going to stack them on the one side line's good hi gotta curl if anything okay looks a little heavy yeah we're whoa-ho heavy it's not bad right off right off right now a little deeper than they would have like they just wanted that just over the hog line so and they're just not lined up you see the frustration with incarc there i've seen a lot of that from karak here in this game he's tried to pick up the rest of his team with the sweeping and every single shot trying to do as much as you can where are you where are we keep on it looks close where are you mine's good we're there pull it three come into the house for scotland back twelve okay yep you can get something back there and use all of it so try to come to the nose just tap the one back sit right on the nose and in the front make it difficult for scotland to try to remove clean clean clean just clean yep yep just back hard hard hard yeah they're just they're on the front already so they're trying to chunk it oh it didn't seem will be closed yeah so the way carl left these lined up this is a chance at a double peel for no bobby lammy yep yep oh clean yep yep yep oh make the double peel and he misses everything in the rings really nice shot there really turned out well scotland has been you said it had the momentum definitely feeling in their favor the second half of the game watch we'll just miss the one in the house as well so doesn't disturb the rings yeah i think so i think scots are getting fired up in this one yeah it's just you know 10th end and a big shot there nine to score that two and good situation here making a double peel it's hard not to feel a little bit energy from that [Music] we're a little late just for waiting lines real good mine's perfect well they have no guards anymore out in front they're trying to take this one back keep it in play go go go go go go go go go go go go go go brad it's a good shot good scrub i was thinking yeah like a thin third yeah almost a quarter okay go for a thin third yeah no actually quarters good yep get rid of this top one maybe you can get lucky the other ones okay we'll just peel that top right out just hack yep yeah it's probably almost better if we leave that in the back 12 if we can like hacks good still yeah if it doesn't quite go through that's fine okay okay so wanting to leave some things around here that scotland might end up jamming on you want to get this on the nose clean just clean yup has to keep the proper angle need to be perfect now for team canada clean yep right on the nose that is perfect for darren molding yeah a really good shot there for darren pretty good yep whoa whoa whoa whoa real good so just going to run this back try to eliminate that one at the back of the rings playing anything on that other one right now just uh it doesn't make a whole lot of sense you got to make contact get rid of that back red one and actually roll in front of that redstone what a nice result good one fat boy don't even focus that much on where they went it was just make sure you get rid of that one in the back yeah and that worked out nice to see the shooter rolls right in front i mean the whole scottish team has just been playing outstanding tonight and grant hardy has made a couple of those really really great shots like that happy i got in the got to get this right down to it well leaving everything out there thiessen and martin it's just heavy yeah i do not feel light i thought it was sweet okay just a little slower underfoot though i know i know should even still just like maybe nick it no more third to half stills to deal with those two yellows in the back jelly you mentioned at the the playground hardy but bruce mauit he's put together quite the game trying to finish it off the whole team really it's just been outstanding just uh grant hardy's been earning a few bonus points remove that red one avoid the jam right through the hole still think back to that shot in the ninth end by bruce mallett what a team shot it was to get the two in that ninth end yeah really really huge for them to score the deuce because this would be a completely different end if they'd only scored one like we knows yeah i i it's going to be hard to call that that's kind of going to be time out sure time out well i know but we got to try well not necessarily we can throw it real hard on the nose and just kick this one over let him hit it and then play a double for two yeah i think if we try and get close to nose we're likely leaving some kind of nose double back yep unless we just get lucky well i was thinking like probably have to saying it right here yeah hit her hit it hard and bang the six out i think don bartlett coming out to talk this one over with team canada third shot what do you guys like i was just wondering if you could ever hit it so you like lock these two well then he's just blasting this right here just blast get both threads wouldn't he this shot or the shot i like is just hitting it hard on the nose and banging the six over get it out of the way let him hit it okay hopefully we get a double yeah yeah can you see that or you roll your shooter over can you hit it thin oh yeah we can do this we can do this too it's this way though they're always going to be three feet apart this way it'll be a pretty thing you're getting a better result that way i think the eight six around though i think those are the two options right yeah and and he can't really play the double because if he's thick um three he pretty much has to hit the open yeah yeah looks like with an intern my red one's not bouncing far hey no it's got to be an out turn i think they're all on board is just a matter of how they get separated yeah so the idea here is for them to hit this uh on the on the nose and they're trying to the red one that's there right now they're trying to squirt that out to the right hand side the yellow one at the back is is gone and then if they can remain on the nose of that yellow one like i can get this one to go but then my shooter's the one that's rolling sorry they're trying to get make that yellow one go as well i think we we're just accepting that this rock is going to be second shot do we ever just it doesn't even matter where this one goes just get it a little bit lower then he's playing on this one play just play this yeah we just have to get it lower like weight there's halfway like we're not getting the back one out with hack no no we're not getting either of them but if he goes and hits the side one you should have yeah you just have a nose yeah okay i'd buy that they do have a long conversation use their timeout minute 34. canada scotland steals their timeout they have a minute six probably use that just to make sure yeah not not loads of time for either team but enough but needing to be mindful and it's thinking time it's not while the stone is delivering so you just have to be in the process get rid of the stone so it shouldn't come down to that fantastic finish here in this 10th end yup yup well where do the reds go kick that one out but it doesn't go out far enough there's a double that's available jam possibilities yeah that red one in the middle didn't squirt out nearly as much as they wanted and we're in a two-point game because of this jill yeah what an amazing shot this was i think they had already planned this out before knowing that brandon botcher was playing this guard that's on the left and scotland just gets by that rubs the red which they knew they were going to do spins in for a huge two points when they know how important that was and you could sense the energy and the adrenaline was still flowing i think early in this 10th inn for scotland bobby lammy makes that double peel that's one of those shots that you just you love the sweepers love to make this could be it here make the double and this could be a spot in the semifinals [Music] well do they hold it make the double go through the hole and that will do it scotland makes the double and the win canada is eliminated scotland moves on to the semi-finals with a big victory what a game by scotland and bruce mallett wow they really were ready to play here today just an amazing game by scotland and a couple of miscues by not a bad game by canada come on come on tommy well this double in there that's how you bring your own energy no crowd here in the bubble but the scots let you know that's it again boys bob well this qualification game and what a game it was seventh end after a couple of great peels opening things up two misses the canadian thirds left this opportunity to draw to score two and brendan botcher and team canada made a couple a double just to avoid a three so this one draw radian no problem so scotland gets the first deuce of the game in the seventh then an eight to canada trying to set up a two right back just unable to generate the offense watcher trying to tie things up just right to the nose and it's a single point so they're all tied after eight and then into the ninth the guard maybe curled a hair more than what canada want left an opening down the middle the out turn just draw weight rub off need a piece of the button to score a second point in a crucial end [Music] all four of the scots make that one great line call great sweep great throw and a two in nine and as brendan botcher and canada didn't get the separation they were looking for on his first bruce mallett chance to make the double an end of the game and now it makes the double we'll move into the semifinals with that shot good luck so through round robin we had our six playoff team sweden rcf atop into the semis usa canada scotland switzerland italy and norway just on the outside looking in as you see the 14 team field netherlands korea and china all with the 2 and 11 record as it rounds out the 14 team field and set up our playoff bracket six teams in two teams into the semifinals we know sweden and rcf into the semi-finals one qualification game is done yet but we don't know who they'll play it'll be depending on the us switzerland game if the us wins that they will play rcf if switzerland wins they'll play sweden meaning scotland will be in the other semi-final to go winners of the two sammys will go to gold medal and then obviously the bronze medal here at the world championship bruce congrats on a a big win here in the first sudden death game of the of the worlds what was the thought process coming into the game playing against canada and it's always a big game scotland canada matchup what were you guys trying to come into this game with um well we were trying to come in with a bit of confidence we played really well against them in the first half of our game at the start of the week and we knew that if we um managed to hold that out for 10 ends then we had a chance and i think we did we i'm so proud of how everyone played there was maybe our best game of the week so far oh you guys were unbelievable top to bottom uh from the first end to the 10th end but tell me about the shot in nine what an amazing shot you obviously had that in your mind knowing that brennan was playing the guard so you had it planned out what was your thought process on that and how big was that for you guys to score that too yeah it was pretty big i'm glad it was on my out turn so i could back it a wee bit you know from um so yeah it was obviously quite a tough shot but um we knew that uh the way that we're throwing it right now we can make those shots that are pretty narrow past both guards i guess and uh bobby and hammy judged it and swept it to perfection and grant called the line great so yeah it was a great team shot and uh congratulations bruce and good luck in the rest of the playoffs thank you very much well scotland is into the semi-finals we'll have another qualification game more semi-finals throughout the weekend for jail officer myself luke coley thanks for watching the bkt tires
