Can You Beat Terraria Using Flamethrowers Only?

in this video I try beating Terraria using flamethrowers only and most of you guys know that there are only two flamethrowers in the game that can only be acquired in hard mode so I'm felting mod that adds in multiple kinds of flamethrowers that can be used early and even later on how will these new additions affect my fight against the final boss Moon Lord stay tuned to find out all right we can get started so getting my first flamethrower I believe I need 20 iron bars and should be yeah five torches so I'm gonna have to search for some iron down below but the problem is getting the ammo so I'm really hoping I can find a slime statue so I can get pretty much infinite amount of ammo if not then I'm pretty much going to have to use my ammo sparingly which I don't want to really do I just want to spam so yeah all right there should be enough iron 80 that's more than enough I think furnace is done and then we can make our iron bars to make an anvil all right then we can make the blowtorch six ranged damage 11 Critical Strike chance 10 to not consume ammo and now the only problem is getting the ammo oh okay I got the aglet if we can get the anklet of the wind then we can make the lightning boots and oh my thank you cobwebs oh my God I would have died of fall damage [Music] okay we've got some rubies that means I can summon the King Slime multiple times and that is a good way to get gel got shoe spikes and we got our first light Crystal oh gravitation motion nice that means we're gonna search for some Sky Islands later on as well oh that is a lot of rubies yes give me that 13 rubies okay now as long as I can get enough Platinum Ore I can make a bunch of King Slime summons okay as bad as I want to make a hook with the 16 rubies that I have I'm gonna hold myself off because I really want to use these rubies to make as many King Slime summons as possible for as much ammo as I can possibly get okay that's my second life Crystal oh I'm dead here yep all right that's fine though I can now make some better equipment let's make the Platinum pickaxe and let's also make some armor silver helmet and a chainmail all right let's get some early accessories let's bring the gravitation potion and find some Sky Islands okay finally here's one I was like is there really no sky islands on this side okay nice fledgling wings let's see if I can find one more before my duration Runs Out all right found one more perfect and we get shiny red balloon awesome okay nice got the anklet of the wind that means we can make lightning beats later on all right got enough Emerald so I can make a emerald hook now instead of Ruby oh is that even more rubies nice okay oh I don't think we have to worry about Ammo now because we have nine more rubies plus the 16 that we already have in the chest oh my God what if I can still find a slime statue that would be awesome and I also should have enough to make silver leggings now hopefully yes I do all right 17 defense now all right let's make the emerald hook now here we go all right so the next plan is to go down to Hell and grab a bucket of lava because with a bucket of lava then I can use that to kill some slimes to get ammunition but those of you who are wondering why I can't really kill any monsters without the weapon that I'm supposed to use which is the blowtorch however I don't have any ammo basically but can't kill anything which is why I'm going to use a natural material to kill monsters all right got a bucket of lava now it's time to make a very long and full hat platform the Slime to spawn clear the sunflowers so we get more enemy spawn rates and I did get a water candle from the dungeon so let's put that down as well all right we got some slimes coming in all right let's test this thing out the blowtorch because I haven't shot it out yet all right three two one oh okay I mean it still has a decently sized long range that's not bad honestly it's definitely much shorter than the flamethrower but you know it's pretty decent for a starter flamethrower all right I have 58 gel now that's a pretty good start but I think for now I'm gonna go upgrade my armor I kind of regret making a silver armor because I just thought about making the fossil armor and I believe that armor does give range damage bonus well that's why I'll be making that one all right what do we have in here oh beautiful okay I got a fast statue I'm trying to look for the extractinator to extract all the uh desert fossils oh no I am not ready at all for this all right well I guess I'll just let it kill me or I just jumped into this into the slab as soon as it spawns because I have like no ammo at all right I'll catch you later all right see you in a bit all right I am giving up on making the fossil armor it's just not worth it I literally explored everything I swear and there is no extractinator to be found so yeah I'm just gonna stick with the silver armor we'll just Farm up some more gel and our first boss will be the King Slime okay we're almost done maxing our health though there's two Life Crystals on the left so we'll be at 360. after getting those two hey one more left Chris let's go oh and there's a last like Crystal all right I have enough gel to make a king slime summon I won't necessarily be fighting it with the blowtorch I think that's just gonna take way too long and I definitely won't have enough so I'm just gonna use the lava as my damage source all right slime crown made let's go home all right here we go three two one closest drop down here we go [Music] and as it takes damage the King Slime will drop or like spawn other blue slimes and I will collect those for gel few more hits should do it one more boom all right now let's see how much gel we got from that we got 61. that is beautiful oh perfect and we got the slimy saddle all right let's make three more okay that's one down and that is two down last one to go and that's the last one all right all right I'm praying that 159 gel is enough to take down the AKA thulu if it's not enough then I'm in trouble because if I end up using all my gel and the iPhone isn't dead I'm gonna have to re-farm everything all right here we go three two one okay I do like how the thick damage of buyers is five rather than one thank you okay second place now okay just a bit more I think I think now I can start spamming my attacks there we go all done so I pretty much ended up using a hundred gel for that fight okay we got the shield of Cthulhu now all right so the next bus that I'm gonna be fighting is probably the Eater of world so I know that boss has a ton of Health so I think what I'm gonna do is try to find the slime statue if possible the summoning the King Slime yeah it does give me some gel but it's not the best way to get gel and sooner or later I will run out of rubies let's see if we can find the slime statue oh my the way wait there's actually one here okay this is gonna make our life so much easier okay now if possible can we find a button somewhere along with some wires oh I know where to find a buttons I'm pretty sure I saw one in the desert and there should be some wire as well okay got a button or a plate pressure plate are you kidding me that did not just happen now let's build our little contraption now this should spawn a slime right yes okay and then we just want to place some lava right here break this block and it should be done and I just need to spam my jump button oh wait no the lava's been too deep yes there we go now it doesn't get burned okay I think that's enough 423. once we defeat Skeletron and find the mechanic then forming the gel will be so much easier because we can buy the one second timer to make it automatic all right I think I'm ready for the eat of Worlds now let's head over to the corruption okay arena is pretty much all sets so let's go break some Shadow orbs now foreign wait the fire damage is actually going crazy wait oh my it's basically dead already oh my God yeah the tick damage that's five it's just like that's so good it feels just one damage to protect then yeah I'd be a different story but oh my God this thing's stretched okay so I barely even needed like I swear to God I could make do with a hundred gel all right it's all done and then let's go ahead and make the shadow armor with the nightmare Pickaxe lovely jubbly and the meteorite's falling okay that means we can make the upgraded version of this the melto zoic need 20 meteorite bars and then the blowtorch and it has a 16 damage oh no 10 damage increase all right it has landed let's go ahead and try to find it now oh it's right here perfect all right let's make the meteorite bars now and now we can make the melto zoic nimble all right what's the difference probably I'm gonna guess longer range I think it is longer by bit let's let's make another blowtorch just to see I mean we're gonna be needing one again anyways so let's see oh yeah it is definitely longer I think I'm ready to take on Skeletron now so we're at the dungeon now let's go ahead and make the arena all right so arena is all set all right let's get started three two one go thank you okay so this is long enough to hit both arms or both hands when it does that attack okay both hands are down all right and it's done oh there's a mechanic perfect let's buy the one second timer yeah that's pretty much all I need well I'll just get the red wrench just in case with some wires all right let's open this bad boy up oh lovely okay got everything that I wanted now we can replace our pressure plate with the one second timer there we go now it's automatic all right you know what I'm gonna bring this slime without you with me back up onto the surface well that way I don't have to always come down here to restock and gel all right that should do it there we go all done all right before I fight to All Flesh I will be farming some Goblin Scouts for their tattered cloth so I can summon the Goblin Army manually and then once I defeat the Army straight for the Goblin tinkerer and then combining accessories oh okay this should be it all right we got ten perfect now let's make the Goblin Battle standard and then uh summon them all right this should be pretty quick because I did throw down some lava from before so they're pretty much just all time for that all right that's it oh there he is perfect rocket boots and a workshop you can now make Specter boots and with our egglets we can make lightning boots perfect our next goal is to make the molten marrow that this is created by using 20 hellstone bars and 30 bones which I basically have except for the bones I only have 15 so we're gonna have to go back to the dungeon to go some more skeletons for that but we'll go to hell first and get the hellstone bars all right got enough hellstone I just need some obsidian okay that should be enough obsidian all right let's make some hellstone bars and then let's go back to the dungeon to kill some more skeletons for the bones okay 37 bones that's enough and now we can make the molten and Marrow annoying that's okay let's just go to the Goblin tinkerer and reforge it oh it's only 42 silver too deadly can we get unreal on this thing there we go 29 range damage 19 Critical Strike chance all right let's see how this thing has changed oh it's much thicker it shoots like two lines of fire this time and it's definitely much much longer and then let's just compare it with the blowtorch oh yeah it's much thicker then let's just make the molten pickaxe or when hard mode comes so we combine the oars and let's just make the molten armor sets just for some more defense there we go all right it is time for the Wall of Flesh fight here we go three two one okay I should have no problems I hope would take fire damage so I guess not going super well so far I don't have knockback resistance like you have to be careful of that kill oh okay that got a bit scary opening up the treasure bag what did we get okay that's a bit unfortunate I was hoping for the ranger emblem that's okay all right we're in hard mode now which means it's time to go upgrade my armor so we're gonna be breaking some Demon altars and whenever there is a lizard we're gonna be searching for a frost core because then we can combine the frost car with a Adamantite bar or titanium with the multimero to make the freeze flame I'm pretty sure judging by how it looks like it's gonna do frost burn damage all right let's go Palladium or calcum and titanium all right it's 396 Titanium Ore let's go back and let's go and make the titanium Forge and then the full titanium armor elements breastplate and leggings all right all right next goal is to make another flamethrower and it's called the Greek Inferno which is made from 30 cursed flames and 15 Souls of knights this is why I'm exactly here in the corruption bottom all right that should be enough oh and we got the mechanical worms now let's make the Greek Inferno unreal already okay I'll take that 57 ranged damage see how it looks like boom does it bounce okay never mind I thought these cursed balls would actually damage that would be insane all right so let's test it out on a boss if this can pass through the boss then I'll I'm gonna be using this against the Destroyer all right let's see three two one oh did it it does okay this is pretty strong but it doesn't inflict um the cursed Flame debuff all right now let's go farm for some sorts of flight it's time to upgrade from our uh Fletchling wings okay so after a certain points then the curse Flames do not pass through and they'll actually disappear okay I'm not sure if that's good then I'm fighting the Destroyer but I do know that it's gonna be really good against uh Skeletron Prime and the twins okay now let's make some demon wings and we're pretty much all set to take on the mechanical bosses now just need to wait until night time all right time to get started let's begin with the twins first is this one really better or is this one better I think for the long run the molten mirror is definitely better because of the burn damage but this does have longer range though okay second phase soon there we go and then we'll use the Greek Inferno for this one okay should almost be dead 1000 Health to go there we go all right and we're done and let's just see if we can Rush down the Destroyer real quick and we're done okay that was pretty that was pretty fast all right and now it's time for the last mechanical boss let's go foreign let's go so now that I have some tools of fright I can make the flamethrower except he kind of died last time last night due to uh the Destroyer so I'm gonna have to wait until he respawns and then I can make it all right arms dealers here let's buy the illegal gun parts and then we can make the flamethrower all right now I'm not really sure which one's better let's see so this one goes all the way to that torch and then the molten mirror okay yeah playing Thor is definitely better now let's make the pickaxe and do we have enough for full hollowed armor yes we do get the ranged helmet here we go all right now that didn't take too long surprisingly all right arena is all done let's start it up I hope I brought enough gel for this but it seems like we're not using too much so I think we're good okay we're almost second phase here we go oh my God I am dodging like a pro right now and it's dead all right easy peasy all right attempt to face again it's a Golem three two one yeah this shouldn't take too long because my Flames working pretty much hit all the parts okay that's both hands down thank you all right Golem is done all right now it's time to take on the lunatic cultist foreign thank you all right that's done I kind of took a really long time oh my God and now it's time for the most tedious part which is the celestial pillars all right and there is a blizzard going on right now so this is the perfect chance to get the cross court so I can make the freeze Flame oh oh there's one okay perfect there we go R cross core and then now I can make the freeze Flame all right let's see is it going to shoot Blue Flame oh yes it does reforge this to oh no please give me back unreal okay thank you oh my god we'll see if this weapon can inflict frostburn if it does then I'm probably gonna switch it out oh it does okay it doesn't have a lot of range to it though which kind of sucks okay I'll do the pillars done all right a few more to go all right solar is done well enough to go all right before I destroy the last Celestial pillar which is the vortex pillar I'm gonna summon the frost moon event because there's just one more flamethrower that I want to get which is the elf melter and I think that flamethrower is the best one in the entire game and without it I don't think I can possibly take on moonlord so that's the reason why all right let's get started three two one felt there nice I didn't even notice it oh my God uh it does have the shoddy reports so I'm gonna have to change that up later on all right that's over oh wait I looked at the reindeer Bell okay I'll take that that's gonna help with uh the moonler fight for sure all right now I can destroy the last pillar which is Vortex let's head over there right now all right and the for my thoughts on this mod the addition of the new flamethrowers are quite nice especially for early game which makes progressing through the game more smooth rather than only having two playing thirds in the vanilla version of the game but one thing I have to complain about is the Greek Inferno I really wished it felt the curse flame debuff because that would have made it so much better
