JBW is the fucking bomb diggity. I have on-demand propane water heater / camp shower. It freezes and splits in the same fucking corner multiple times every winter despite my efforts to drain it properly. JBW and 48 hours later it's good to go. This $100 water heater has tried to die on me over 10 times. I won't let it.
Radiator on my 84 civic cracked and leaked in a small spot. A bit of JB fixed it...for a month, then it would leak from a crack in the JB. I just added another layer of JB. After about a year, I think that patch spot was about 3/4 of an inch thick and two inches across.
Also, it seems like he is a new YouTuber, but his latest series on SeaFoam and other popular decarbonizing methods was awesome too
By the end, my race car had to have been 50% JB Weld by mass.
My grandfather was firm believer in jb weld. He could sculpt it like a renaissance artist.
In the Jeep CJ world, a common upgrade to the old 4.2 engine is to run a newer 4.0 head. One of the few differences in the two heads is that the 4.0 head has extra cooling passages.
The common solution? Pack the passages with a few biodegradable packing peanuts and fill the hole with JB weld, file flush with the head.
Good to go!
If done properly JB weld is a life saver. My friends and I have fixed a few broken motorcycle engine cases with it. Usually after it throws the drive chain. Not a particularly stressed spot and the temps aren't crazy high in that part either.
My personal experience has been that JB Weld tends to fail when subjected to highish temperatures.
There is something so satisfying with the title ending in JB held.
