song and all the beautiful memes that came from it but this song was the biggest thing on YouTube back in 2011 don't worry though because this video will bring you back to speed no previous knowledge required my name is Joe and Romeo official and today I'm gonna try my very very best to make Friday by Rebecca Black a good song let's go first let's just get a hold of what we're dealing with here look at all these Lego quotes and stuff in the video Sunday study study study study another Pleasant Valley Sunday test today just another Manic Monday all these lines give me like nostalgia 7 a.m. waking up in the morning [Music] although the lyrics are amazing [Music] so that's the chorus I don't wanna show you guys too much of the original the thing is everything that's bad about this could have been prevented if the company doing it would have not sucked but they clearly did Rebecca Ren a black board June 21 1997 is an American youtuber and singer who gained extensive media coverage when the music video for her 2011 single Friday went viral and YouTube and other social media sites Friday was derided by many music critics and viewers who dubbed it the worst song ever so this video is trying to make the worst song ever good she was bullied already when she was a kid before any of this happened that makes me feel so bad in April 2011 she dropped out in favor of homeschooling citing both would need to focus on her career and a desire to avoid tongs from her former classmates I'm like I was laughing but I'm just so awful as I'm laughing first week sales was 40,000 that's crazy that's a lie so even though people didn't like it that still wanted to buy it Friday was revealed as YouTube's number one video 2011 it received more than 167 million bees and more than 3 million dislikes and that was just during the first four months there is a rapt verse in the middle of this and that's like the weirdest part and I think that's actually one of the people who worked at the company who made the song Patrice Wilson it's a nigerian american music producer singer and songwriter he founded Eric Music Factory in 2010 where they produce many songs such as Friday sang by Rebecca Black and gained worldwide attention on YouTube yeah you got attention alright what's a good though he's definitely the weirdest part of the song Rebecca Black [Music] driving those ad-libs in the background so yeah there's a lot of critique obviously about this song I think a lot of them worried about her voice it's that but it quickly became a bit of a bullying campaign against a Ricca I don't know how old was she when she made that stop freaking you know early teens and this guy comes Bart Baker comes and he's like oh he has a little Mole here so he like put on like a really big one and he just feels like bullying and a little kid pretty grow sexually there was a lot of bullying a lot of pretty funny stuff too so Brock Baker who's a friend of mine he did a dub that's pretty fun it's Friday Friday gotta get down on Friday that's a crazy funny parodies that's not mean to her either it's just kinda like silly here's another one the bad lip reading [Music] that looks so right this looks perfect they were so good at bad lip-reading love that channel here's another classic one the Christian version of Rebecca Black's Friday [Music] this is held up really well I saw recently just two months ago BuzzFeed released this video with a record like telling count like the back story and it really put a lot of things in perspective for me it all started in 2010 I just finished up at the 7th all right agent it was this thing that like produced these songs for kids like my age I basically said we can write you a song put your new music video if you get a hundred thousand views you can start making money from it but at that point I was like there's no way that this little thing is gonna get any sort of attention and that's so central at this for me she thought this like for her and her friends like haha this will be so we can watch and it just got like hundreds of millions of views I got a little notification from the company's website hey this sucks but you're gonna be famous comments were starting to come a bit more and they were definitely all making fun of me making better the song that immediately put the biggest pit in my stomach I've probably ever had it was me and that was my face and that was my name people were making fun of I was considering making my own live cover or something on it because she was training at the time I wasn't actively hating on it but I definitely wasn't like oh I feel so bad for this kid at that point it some was like scary to remember that that that's how I was thinking then you see from this perspective like oh dang that must have been so stressful for her very few people were laughing with me I was like this would all just be so much easier if I could not so nervous about it all the time man this really mess to their life 2012 was one of the darkest years for me I was 15 and I had no friends and I was super alone she's so nice now he's just crazy she must have had to grow up so fast after all that stuff but yeah rebecca has been working really hard on her singing and she's definitely a really good singer now I've heard her new stuff and it's really good I think we can all agree the song is not good and now she's much better singer and everything even though it is awful it's awful me one of those ways where I just love it and I think it's a really catchy song one thing that I haven't seen a lot of people talk about it's how similar it is to Baby by Justin Bieber pretty much the same starts to the chorus and the beats are kind of similar just like Bieber's baby Friday has a rap thing as well okay so let's get started with making Friday better I found a track that I think works really well with the chorus and it's giving like almost an emotional vibe to the chorus that I'm really digging right now listen to this I love that so much I have to push it down so much it sounds like a different voice but that was actually kind of good because the vocals are just so annoying in the original drilling hey kind of sounds like a electronic emo song right now I want to add some of my own vocals for sure the thing is if I change too much about the lyrics then it's not really this song's epic I at least have to save the chorus to be like with her voices and everything maybe I can sing the verses and stuff like that or maybe we just have one verse and I'll sing that one the core is definitely the most iconic part this part will rock so hard that your thing that is in the original that is pitch down it just sounds like demons okay I think I'm gonna have to record a vocalist now because this sounds so uninspiring when the vocals that telephony since the mix was so bad in the original Friday song like it's just really hard to get the vocals out with any of my usual methods Friday Friday auto-tune for the save gotta get down on Friday just to make sure that I'm fixing Ricky Black's Friday in the right way I'm gonna ask you guys on discord what is the main reason Friday by Rebecca Black is a bad song everything squeaky voice sounds like a goose vocals mainly her voice it's not as a non mainstream opinion I can respect that it's too high-pitched well we already dealt with that because Rebecca farted wait that's still a lock by the way you Ed it's a lot of the music video stuff in the songs now it's been doing really well I'm really happy working with him it seems like everyone kind of agrees that it's mainly the voice too sexy well that's weird to say about it I mean she's not 13 anymore but she was then so lyrics are terrible yeah the thing is though I got to save something from the original song so I feel like if I can do something and still kind of keep the lyrics that would be good she's a pupu everyone keeps saying voice so I think I'm gonna go ahead and get rid of a lot of vocals since you guys said so we got a chorus I think that's pretty much there now we got to work on the first verse I wanna start with the chorus that do the first verse and then do a chorus a last chorus there was some complaints about the cheesy lyrics as well I was thinking maybe I'll rewrite the lyrics and write a new melody for the verse just to count like get away from the worst cringe of it I'm gonna see if I can kind of say the same thing but with different words 7 a.m. waking up in the morning what do we do with that I wake up at 7 a.m. I feel like there's so many unnecessary lines that don't say anything it's just like oh I'm getting ready I like just I wake up at 7 a.m. I get him ready that's also kind of bad lyrically though I'll go with it for now I'm just trying to make it a good song okay you never know if I'm going to succeed right wake up at 7:00 a.m. got ready Cheerios ate them that's worse God pills and got a Pam I don't know I'm making this an adult song now I wake 7 a.m. got pilsun gotta pay them working 9 to 5 working 9:00 to 5:00 just trying to survive it's the grind guys it's the grind when you're working like I don't have real jobs on them you know what I'm talking about welcome nut Bob just try to survive I would told you that I'm still sick by the way I haven't been able to practice singing for I think three weeks now it's pretty bad but two nights I get to feel alive I just do that it's went from one type of crunch to another type of cringe and I'm not happy about it it's a subject of this song - it's like but do not I got you feel I love that when you do like a slow slide and the auditor and just doesn't know what to do beautiful okay so have the verse ready it sounds pretty dope there's a little bit of a disconnect between the singing styles from me I feel more emo in the chorus and then it's little bit more urban in the verses but I kind of like it now I'm gonna add some ad-libs for the end chorus and I think we're getting pretty close though again hey baby I know you're having a tough time of school right now oh my god I mean I've already kind of given up and through the make it really cool it's almost like ironically cool to keep something like this in that's awful I love it hahaha that down so much the yes kind of disappeared from the partying partying things instead of putting in other yes or whatever I'll just put Brian there bro maybe I should auto-tune bro I like this actually what if this always happen I do something stupid and it just works that's about it for the vocal recording and the overall production stuff I'll do some more production off-camera and just try to fix it up a little bit and I will see you guys with a final song in three two whine play [Music] looking forward to
