Evacuation orders are now in effect in plaster and El Dorado counties. Is the mosquito fire burning in Placer County, 1200 acres in size, expected to grow as the excessive heat will likely increase the spread containment 0%. Firefighters trying to contain it in very steep terrain. The fire started near the Oxbow reservoir in the Tahoe National Forest. There are now mandatory evacuation orders right now in El Dorado and Placer County, ABC 10s. Devin Truby is in Forest Hill. Where the air quality is not good, she has the latest information. Devin. That's right. Well, Cal Fire actually issuing an order for all of Placer County about the drifting smoke that we're seeing. That's why I decided to go with the mask here up at incident command at Forest Hill, where they are gearing up for what potentially will be a multiple day Firefight. This is just off of Mosquito Ridge Rd, which is where this fire draws its name from. The fire doubled overnight. We spoke with one resident who's been here for 25 years. That said, he already packed up his clothes, pictures, essential paperwork and put it in the car. Because what scares him the most is that Forest Hill only has one way in and one way out. We've had a couple close ones. A couple years ago they had came up the other side here, but this is pretty close. It started right down here, right across from where I live, down in the Canyon, so. Yeah, and it's so it's. And then at night time, you know, it looks like it's really close just because of that, you know? But it's working its way up. The hill here so kind of scary. We spoke with officials that say they have crews in those communities setting bulldozer lines up because there are so many wildfires across California in need of resources. This crew will have to work into tonight before they can be changed out. But they're taking plenty of breaks with lots of water. Fire officials believe this fire could be bigger just based on how hot it is, and the vegetation is very dry, so it's burning very quickly. Good indicator of that is all of this smoke. It just shows you that the fire is gaining fuel and energy. They'll have a better look at it tonight when they go up. Helicopter to map just how many acres have burned so far. Walt. Alright Devin, you're near the fire in Forest Hill up. But for the people who aren't near it, what are officials asking us all to do anyway? Yeah, they want everyone to cease any type of yard activity today. Lawn mowing, cutting, because you will spark something with just how dry everything is here today and also some common sense smart practices with grilling don't have any chains hanging or anything like that. So any resources that are needed can come here to the firefight walls. There will be an update tonight at 7:00 PM again. OK. Be extremely careful, especially if you're in that area in and around Placer and El Dorado counties. Devin Truby, thank you.
