CADMapper Straight to Revit | How to Create Topography | Revit Tutorial | Tips and Tricks

hi everyone welcome back to my channel in today's video i'll be showing you how to use cadmapper and to create topography and 3d buildings of your site location and importing it straight to revit let's get started first we type in cad mapper to your search bar i will put the link down in the description kedmapper can create files for autocad sketchup rhino illustrator free for areas up to one square kilometers to start you need to sign up down below once you sign up you will be directed to this screen here you will need to check others it will provide a dxf file that revit can recognize make sure to check 3d buildings and topography set your road geometry to outline i will leave this as default this are the distance of each kind of road once every option is set up search your location in this example i will type in new york drag the corner of the square to set your area if you notice that we're more than one square kilometers and as you can see it will ask you to pay if you go over that if you're happy with your area click create the file here is the preview of the area you selected you can click the download it will download a zip file i'm gonna save the file into my documents folder or you can save it on your desktop now let's go to revit to import the file i'm going to click new architecture then press ok you can either go to your site or your 3d view i'm going to go to my site go to insert import cad this window will open go to where you you save it make sure you change this to dxf for some reason it shows an error if you don't choose the import units meters so i will do that and press open and there you have it there's your 3d and topography let's see it on the shaded view let's go to site let's create the topography go to masking inside topo surface create from import check none just choose contours and press ok and then finish as you can see it created the topography from the information you got from cad mapper thank you for watching and i hope you liked the video please hit like and subscribe and feel free to comment down below
