CA Ammo Ban! Everything you need to know!

what's going on guys welcome back to follow doors we have an update version of the California law that just went in fact for the mo so listen this one will give you all updates we're gonna go off some of your guys comments and I'll give you guys a bunch of answers on what's going on over here yep so stay tuned we're gonna run some GoPro footage at yet another ammo supplier this time we actually went to the Bass Pro Shop so stay tuned we're gonna roll that clip real quick and then we'll be back here to talk about some questions yeah give me a dollar can we have the animal over there you want this yeah okay so what what's the do other thing okay now is this your correct residence address okay see you Corey and have you purchased guns that were ready so because this has federal limits apply I need you to this your birth certificate or your passport so now are you guys entering the we have to keep about F bass broker-dealer yeah the key to this and every time you come in I am a anything lotta weight if you go back if you bought an old yesterday I am legally not able to go back so you need to go in and get your realize okay so that's just basically to protect [Music] no it's not this one's not like video where we hold guns for elevation this is a statutory [Music] and it's like if you were to take a picture this on your phone I hear even some law-enforcement jammed up they did that for security purposes and if they lose their ID [Music] Oh [Music] so how's this work for out-of-state guys keep IL and theory now with a special decoration or [Music] alright guys so that was adventure at the Bass Pro Shops again a different supplier of ammo who required different paperwork yeah so you guys are gonna notice that here in California I'm sure it's part of the plan that this state wants is they they submit these new laws and they just give no guidance they want everyone to be confused they want it just to make it harder on all the stores so we've been finding you go to multiple stores and across all the stores they're all doing it differently some might be legal some might be ill we we don't know all we know is these stores are going by their own set of rules that they interpret how they interpreted that law and it's not the it's not the stores fault so the California Department of Justice has been very unclear on the specific guidelines required to sell ammunition so you know don't blame the stores these guys are just trying to make a living and that's how they're doing it they're looking at the law and interpreting it one way versus another company or another store might be interpreting the law a different way so by no means are the stores at fault here so we're gonna go over a few questions and comments that we had on the last video that we did if you guys haven't seen that head on over and check out that video as well but we're gonna cover a few questions that stood out - got a sheet of paper here and I'm just going to kind of go off the list here on certain comments that stood out to us so the first one was so every time you buy ammo you are going to have to do a background check each time so if you have purchased a gun within the last five years you're gonna pay that one dollar each time you buy ammo now if you buy a bunch of different ammo all at the same time it's still just one dollar but if you leave leave the store and come back and be like oh man you know I forgot to grab this you're gonna have to pay that dollar again and do it yes so every time that's what I think some peace or confuse they're thinking that yes this was a onetime processor you get a card then after that for the next year you could just swipe in your head oh every time you come in it's no longer a quick three minute run in get some shells and go on your hunt or do whatever you're doing it's you going you got to go through this process so I think today was actually a lot faster even though Bass Pro did something different from the last few stores we've been going to mmm it still took over 15 minutes I don't know how much longer in 15 minutes but it did take longer than 15 minutes another thing okay say you have not purchased a firearm within the last five years now you're gonna have to initially pay the $19 fee for a background that can take anywhere from five to ten days that is a one-time background check after that it's a dollar yes so yeah you're not getting mo that day if you have it we're gonna wait for that background check to clear before you could even get s and you'll be notified via email whether or not you passed or not yeah okay so here's a big thing that I learned over the last couple of days and not gonna lie kind of irritated me a little bit and as you guys know my ID says federal limits apply in the upper right hand corner of it meaning every time I buy ammunition I have to bring either a birth certificate or passport well I don't have a passport so I bring in my birth certificate now I asked him I said does the state you know is there a checkbox or anything like that that says that I provided a birth certificate or a passport and the answer is no so the state has no knowledge of what secondary piece of documentation that that I brought in with that being said the store makes a photocopy of my birth certificate and keeps it for their files in case the state comes in and says listen we want to take a look at who is purchased ammo who has purchased mo with federal limits apply do you have a copy of their birth certificate and then they go yes another thing that goes along the lines of that it's not a one-time photocopy hey we've got you on file you're good you don't have to bring it in next time no each time you come in you have to bring the original birth certificate or a certified copy or passport or something it can't be a picture on your phone it can't be anything like that you have to have the hard copy and again this is probably why there's stores of doing it so differently they're not submitting this they're keeping this in their own records because they were thinking this is what's gonna save them they're protecting themselves so they're getting which is probably why Walmart for instance they're asking for three different IDs another story went to you guys so in the other view didn't ask for anything there's just no guidance from the state the state's making these crazy laws that are infringing upon our constitutional rights in every way but yet not giving any direction with us it like I said again it's probably on purpose they want to create confusion and make it harder for everybody to be able to get ammunition if they make it confusing that means more people are gonna potentially break the law meaning there's if you break the law you know you can't own firearms depending on how severe it is and that's the ultimate goal here of California this isn't they're not doing this to you know reduce crime or anything like that that was a selling point to get votes that's all it was they're doing this to eliminate ammunition in California basically this they're trying to go around the Second Amendment this is what California is doing right now yep so some of you guys had a question about the process if say you have I have a driver's license it's not a real ID it's about driver license but it doesn't say the federal limits applied on the top as of right now I comply as the same if I had a real ID yeah so right this second for me to buy ammo I mean also this depends on what store you're going to we like we said every store is confused so with a Real ID or my ID supposedly we could walk right in I hand them my ID they swipe it and then they go forth with the background check so even if you had the Real ID hat that's what they ultimately want they want everyone to have the real ID it doesn't speed up the process you're skipping a few steps but you're still gonna be in there 15 minutes so don't think when everyone's forced to get these new IDs and it's gonna speed anything up this whole thing's still gonna take us fifteen 20 minutes and if you didn't buy a gun within the fat the last five years or comply with those rules guess what you're going into a background check for multiple days and you can't get ammunition for that so just no matter what what I do you have it's going to be a lengthy process it's not a quick run in again and run back out okay so before we continue on here let's go over the process on what you need to do if you have not purchased a gun at the residence that is on your driver's license within the last five years so we went to Bass Pro and this is what they recommended us to do this is again this is store specific it might be different everywhere else but what is it what's the card say so if you haven't purchased a gun in the last five years they're saying there's way around it you have to go on to this website and you need to sign up and basically do whatever it's asking you to do and basically create an account yes yeah you're getting all the information they want to have on you if you purchase a gun anyways so this is go to this website I'll show you guys here in a second it's cfars DOJ ca.gov follow that and that could get you around if you're going to a Bass Pro that will get you around it I specifically asked this because I was saying hat what happens if I hadn't purchased a gun in the last five years and he said well you could do this route you go on air sign up and then you'll have to show them proof I don't know exactly know how it goes or if it just goes into the background check yeah and it clears and then I was also asking them if my ID didn't match because I was telling them I could be moving here in a year he said did fall the same thing so like we said this could change anywhere we don't know but per Bass Pro if I have an address different from my ID and or not purchasing a gun in the last five years sign up with this place and that will that will get you past those yeah so basically all that card is is you're creating this account to let the Department of Justice know that you live at this Colonel dress and you possess a firearm that's that's all it is that's all Carty okay so another question that you guys have asked a lot is why not by out-of-state why not go out to Nevada or go up to Oregon or out to Arizona and buy ammo well reason being is that if we come across state line the California state line with ammunition we have just committed a crime yet and we were told that that is a new check now so if they ask you do you have any plants vegetables other things they ask now is do you have any education so at the border the lovely California Department of Agriculture AG is asking do you have any nuts plants whatever do you have any ammunition that's a new question that they've added if a misdemeanor as of now possibly depending how much you have could be a felony mm-hmm so California has really a lot of you guys are asking us why aren't we fighting or doing anything else or going around rules while the reasoning being as California is not just putting these laws in place they're making it where they could they could ruin our lives I mean I could lose my job I could be fired my kids I could no longer provide for my family I mean we could be homeless I mean California is doing a great job of keeping us down so yeah when they put these laws in the place I can't just stand up and say no we're not following this otherwise I mean I could be on the streets and my family could be I mean eating out of a cardboard box would yeah yeah this isn't just some slap on the wrist some infraction like a speeding ticket you know there that's not how this is rolling they're making the penalties for for ammo for ammunition they're making the penalties severe yeah so let's talk one more thing about non California residents buying ammunition here in California from Bass Pro now this is per Bass Pro this is actually I've talked to now including Bass Pro three different ammo suppliers that are selling to you and all three seem to be saying not that they're right we're not saying that they're following the rules or whatever you guys are looking at first laying these stores that we've been doing it's all three that I've been to are sticking to these guns right here if you're a non California resident you cannot buy ammo in the state of California zero you're not selling to you at all no matter what you show them if you don't if you're not a California resident you're not getting addition nobody has heard of any loopholes around that or a one-time purchase everyone who we have talked to said if you are a non-resident of California you cannot buy ammo period no exceptions we have we have Cal guns on this we have the California rifle and pistol Association who are fighting this you know all of that needs support and it needs a lot of support so that we can
