welcome to from his heart where today pastor Jeff Shrieve is in an inspiring series entitled rollercoaster facing the ups and downs of life are you struggling with what to do when the weight of your sin comes crashing down on you the answer is in today's message called busted and broken [Music] [Music] [Music] late afternoon early evening in the spring King David had sent his general Joab and his armies out to war but he stayed behind in Jerusalem the Bible says he had been in bed all day just kind of lounging around just doing a bunch of nothing he got up in the early evening and he took a little walk on the roof of his palace and when he did he saw something he saw a beautiful woman and she was bathing and David knew that he should turn away but he didn't turn away he kept looking at her and his look turned to lust and his lust turned to longing and he just had to have that woman and he went back in and he called his servants and he said who is this woman and they said well that is Bathsheba the wife of Uriah the Hittite David that is your mighty man one of your thirty mighty men you Araya the hittite that's his wife and David said I have to have her and he called for her and she came to him and they participated in the night of sin well David thought he had it out of his system but then word came back from Bathsheba some time later that said I'm pregnant so David thought what do I do now I'm kind of in a bind here Uriah is gonna know this isn't his baby because he's out fighting the battles for the king and so he called to Joab and said send me Uriah the Hittite so Uriah came back from battle to David and David began to talk to your eye and ask him about the battle what was going on and then he said to Uriah now you go home and be with your wife but your I wouldn't do it because Uriah said it was wrong for him to go home to be with his wife and enjoy his wife when his brothers are out fighting the Kings battle so Uriah stayed the night at the gate of the king's palace they told David he didn't go home so David brought him in the next day and said why didn't you go home and he said well I couldn't that would be wrong and so David said would you stay here with me and and David had him eat and drink and David got him drunk clinking well maybe if he's drunk he'll go home but he still wouldn't go home and so David was trying to figure out how can I cover up this sin in my life and he finally decided and he wrote a note to Joab the general and he sealed it and he handed it to Uriah and he said take this to the general take this to Joab and he did you're right and look at the note he took it to Joab and when joy have opened it it said these words put your Raya in the fiercest part of the battle and then withdraw from him and Joab did it and Uriah was killed in battle and it was told to Bathsheba your husband Uriah has died and she mourned and when her time of mourning was over then David took her to be his wife and nine months after their liaison she gave forth a child well the Bible says that the Lord sent Nathan the Prophet to David and when he sent him to David he came with a story and he said David I have something I need to tell you I need your judgment on this he said there were two men in the kingdom one was rich and one was poor and the rich man had many flocks and herds but the poor man he just had one little ewe lamb and he loved that little ewe lamb it was it was almost like a daughter to him it would it would eat at his table it would sleep in his bosom it was he was just love that little ewe lamb and then a traveler came to the rich man to visit him and the rich man was unwilling to take from his flocks and his herds and so he took the poor man's little ewe lamb and he took that lamb and killed that lamb and prepared that lamb and fed that lamb to his friend and when David heard that story his anger just arose within him and he slammed his fist and said the man who did this deserves to die and Nathan the prophet said and you are the man you're the one who did this something so much worse than that story you took Bathsheba the wife of Uriah the Hittite and you had him killed and you did this tremendous evil before the Lord you are the man and David was busted numbers 32:23 says this be sure your sin will find you out be sure your sin will find you out hey what do you do when you're busted what do you do when your life and the weight of your sin comes crashing down upon you and your broken David man after God's own heart he not only was a great sinner as I told you his story second samuel chapter 11 and 12 but david was a great repenter and david wrote Psalm 51 after Nathan the prophet came to him and pointed the finger of accusation in his face and said you are the man and David's heart broke and he said I have sinned before the Lord and David wrote these words in Psalm 51 would you stand with me as we read Psalm 51 scripture says for the choir director a psalm of David when Nathan the prophet came to him after he had gone in to Bathsheba be gracious to me O God according to your loving-kindness according to the greatness of your compassion blot out my transgressions wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin for I know my transgressions and my sin is ever before me against you you only have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight so that you're justified when you speak and blameless when you judge behold I was brought forth in iniquity and in sin my mother conceived me behold you desire truth in the innermost being and in the hidden part you will make me no wisdom purify me with hyssop and I shall be clean wash me and I shall be whiter than snow make me to hear joy and gladness let the bones which you have broken rejoice hide your face from my sins and blot out my iniquities created me a clean heart O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me do not cast me away from your presence and do not take your Holy Spirit from me restore to me the joy of your salvation and sustain me with a willing spirit then I will teach transgressors your ways and sinners will be converted to you deliver me from blood-guiltiness O God now God of my salvation then my tongue will joyfully sing of Your righteousness o Lord open my lips that my mouth may declare your praise for you do not delight in sacrifice otherwise I would give it you're not pleased with burnt offerings the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit and a broken and a contrite heart O God you will not despise Lord use this word speak it into our hearts in Jesus name Amen you may be seated David was busted David was broken hey what do you do when you're busted and broken you take three steps three key steps step number one what are we to do we're to come humbly to God you come humbly to the Lord now when we sinned and sinned greatly and as I said there's not a person in this room who couldn't have the testimony that yes I've sinned greatly I have experienced that in my life tremendous horrible sin that if you put it on the screen I would be shamed and humiliated beyond words you know when we sin like that the devil moves in and the devil will tell us well let me tell you something you can't come to God with that there's no way that that God wants to hear from you there's no way that God wants to see you because of what you've done look what you've done how dare you go to church you need to quit going to church because you are a terrible horrible person let's get you a scarlet a and you can wear it like Hester Prynne and let everybody know what you have done because you are rotten to the core that's what the devil says I had a friend of mine in college I remember we were talking about struggles and he told me he said he said Jeff he said I'm like most guys I struggle with lust and he said in my struggle with lust he said there are times that I look at things I shouldn't look at and do things that I shouldn't do then he said and then when that happens he said I can't pray I can't pray there's no way I can pray I can't go before the Lord I can't talk to God look what I've done the devil moved in and said Ron you can't do that don't go to God with that God don't want to hear from you but the devil is a liar and the father of lies hey what do we do when we get busted where to come humbly to God look at verse 1 be gracious to me O God according to your loving-kindness according to the greatness of your compassion blot out my transgressions you mark it down no matter what you've done God is full of grace and mercy God is gracious and David is crying out for God's mercy and God's grace all be gracious to me God God I need your grace and I need your compassion the greatness of your compassion God God I know that I've sinned terribly but God you are compassionate God you know the word compassion literally means with the womb as it says in verse 1 it's a picture of a woman who would protect and care for that baby in her womb she'd have tender mercy and tender love for that baby God has great compassion like that and God is a God who is full of that when the Lord appeared to Moses he gave him his resume and he said the Lord the Lord compassionate and gracious slow to anger and abounding in loving kindness and truth no matter what you've done God is full of mercy and grace no matter what you've done God still loves you still loves you be gracious to me O God according to your loving-kindness [Music] that's the Greek word Hesed CH e SED acid and it means God's loyal love God's faithful of God's covenant love no matter what you've done he still loves you so pastor Jeff but I've done things like the Ashley Madison thing I've done things like David did he still loves you you still love David Bible says in Psalm 89 our Lord I will sing of Your love forever everyone yet to be born will hear me praise your faithfulness I will tell them God's love can always be trusted and his faithfulness lasts as long as the you can always trust in God's love no matter what you've done and no matter what you've done he is able to forgive you the song says the vilest offender who truly believes that moment from Jesus a pardon receives he can forgive you David said in Psalm 86 verse 5 for you Lord are good and ready to forgive and abundant and loving-kindness to all who call upon thee God is not reluctant to forgive he's ready to forgive God wants to forgive you and forgive me more than we want to come before the Lord God is the father of the prodigal son he's the one that if you come and leave the pigsty and you come to him and he sees you coming to him he'll run to you he's ready to forgive so the first step when you are busted because of your sin and it's not a sin of going 60 in a 55 you really sinned and sinned terribly and sinned greatly with great consequences what do you do you come humbly to God's second step not only are we to come humbly to God but we are to confess honestly and completely to God see God sees it all God knows it all so we need to confess it all to God I love what it says when it tells the story of David sin in 2nd Samuel chapter 11 it doesn't mention the Lord at all until the very last verse and it says but the thing that David did was evil in the sight of the Lord God saw it all the eyes of the Lord are in every place watching the evil and the good God saw what David did and God sees what you do and what I do he sees what websites we go to God sees it all he sees the thoughts that we think he sees it all heard a story about a trial and at this trial who's at a small town an attorney called his first witness and she seemed like a very sweet elderly woman and he approached her mrs. Jones and he said to her just to start off the questioning mrs. Jones do you know me and she responded and she said yes I do know you mr. Williams I've known you since you were a young boy and frankly you're quite a huge disappointment to me you lie you cheat on your wife you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs you think you're a hotshot lawyer when you haven't the brains to realize that you'll never amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher yes I know you he was stunned he pointed to the defense attorney he said do you know him she said well of course I do I've known mr. Bradley since he was a youngster I used to babysit for him and he also is a real disappointment he's lazy bigoted never has a nice word to say about anybody he drinks like a fish has been divorced five times and everybody knows his law practice is one of the SHA deists in the entire state yes I know him just then the judge wraps his gavel calls those attorneys to himself and in hushed tone says if either of you ask this woman if she knows me I'm throwing you both in jail God knows you knows everything about you he knows what you did last night he knows what you did last week he knows what you did last summer he knows everything the eyes of the Lord are in every place watching the evil and the good but the thing that David did was evil in the sight of the Lord so what do we do when were busted before God who sees it all and knows it all we are to confess honestly and completely to him now don't dress up your sin because you're guilty as charged well there's a tendency in us to want to dress up our sin that the things that God has already seen but we want to put lipstick on a pig so to speak we want to make it look better but david said in verse four against you and you only i have sinned and done what is evil in your sight so that you're justified when you speak and blameless when you judge lord i deserve your justice i deserve your chastisement i deserve your punishment because i have sinned now notice he didn't say that he's sinned against bathsheba or that he's sinned against Uriah he wronged Bathsheba and he wronged Uriah but he sinned against God and he didn't try and dress it up you know we have a tendency in our hearts to want to dress things up when Adam sinned and the Lord said to Adam when he was hiding from God and the Lord said to Adam Adam Adam where are you and Adam said well I heard the sound of you in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked so I hid myself and God said who told you you were naked did you eat of the fruit that I commanded you not to eat and Adam said yeah but yeah but the woman whom you gave to be with me she gave me of the fruit and I ate yeah but hey when you're gonna come before the Lord you got to get rid of you yeah but there can be no yeah but Lord against you you only have I sinned don't dress up your sin you're guilty as charged don't cover up your sin God desires the brutal truth we like to cover it up David said in verse six behold you desire truth in the innermost being David tried so hard to cover a sin to cover it up just to sweep it under the rug nobody saw nobody needs to know about this and he went on as being king no doubt he sang the songs no doubt he went to worship no doubt he prayed prayers he did all of that for nine plus months and all the while there was rottenness in the innermost parts there was cover up in there and God desires truth in the innermost being you know we can do that so often where we just try and cover it up and we just try and come to church and we we just trying well I'm gonna sing the songs I'm gonna play the part I'm gonna act you know spiritual all a while God sees the rottenness in our hearts all the while God sees this hidden part that we have that's filled with sin and filled with cover-up God desires truth in there an innermost being God doesn't see as man sees man sees the outward appearance the Lord looks at the heart and the Lord sees what's really there many people come to church trying to cover up when God desires the brutal truth what happened to David when he was playing cover up for those nine plus months while the baby was being formed in Bathsheba's bethe Sheba's womb what was what was going on in his life he tells us in Psalm 51 he tells us what happens to a Christian to a believer to someone who loves God but who gets sin in his or her life he tells us what happens when you have unconfessed sin in your life first of all unconcealed confess sin will make you feel dirty he says in verse two wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin he says in verse seven purify me with hyssop and I shall be clean he says in verse 10 create in me a clean heart O God David felt so dirty on the inside and there's nothing he could do there's no ceremonial washing that could take that away he felt stained and dirty and soiled on the inside and it was awful and he asked God clean me up pure of me wash me make me white ass no Lord because I feel so filthy inside you know the Lord says though you wash yourself with lye and use use much soap yet the stain of your iniquity is still before me declares the Lord because you and I can't we can clean the filth in our hearts there's no way to do that that has to be a work of God so we do all the outward things we wash ourselves so to speak with lye and soap we put on the the religious clothes we we talk a big game and all the while we know and God knows because he sees all we know we're lying and God knows were lying he desires truth in the innermost being unconfessed sin will make you feel dirty I had a time in my life I was a freshman in high school and I had a job and I was working as a busboy for Jeremiah's restaurant in Houston and I had to be at work at 3 o'clock and I went and played basketball that afternoon with my neighbors next door and it was in the summertime it was hot and so I played from about oh I don't know 1230 till about 2:15 2:30 and then I had to go to work and I played too long and I didn't have time to take a shower and you know I got through playing and I smelled under my arms and I thought I'm pretty good you know I don't I don't smell too bad I think I can make her so I just toweled off put on a shirt pair of pants went to work bussing tables I remember leaning over to bust the table and I thought somebody really stinks and that somebody was me I was grossing myself out i stunk so bad I was like what am I gonna do I went into the the bathroom there at the restaurant just looking for something to to mask the smell I finally got some hair spray and just sprayed it all over me trying to get some other kind of smell it's horrible when you're filthy and David was filthy before the Lord hey unconfessed sin will make you feel dirty unconfessed sin will make you feel haunted not only dirty but haunted look what he says in verse 3 for I know my transgressions and my sin is ever before me David was haunted by the ghost of guilts because of his sin it was ever before him every time he turned around there was his sin there was his guilt haunting him every time he looked at a soldier's face he saw Araya the hittite the man that he sent to his death you know when David sinned with Bathsheba that was a hot-blooded sin that was a passionate hot blooded sin but when he sinned with Uriah the Hittite that was a cold-blooded calculated sin there was no passion involved that was just diabolical and so David had this haunting presence of guilts everywhere he went the poem says this no torture the poet's name can match that fierce on uh durable pain who day and night devoid of rest carries his own accuser within his breast and David was carrying his accuser within his breast everywhere he went day and night God your hand is heavy upon me I know my transgressions and my sin is ever before me it will haunt you unconfessed sin will make you feel depressed he says in verse 8 make me to hear joy and gladness let the bones which you have broken rejoice o God I'm just so down and grass she says in verse 12 restore to me the joy of your salvation God I've lost my song I've lost my joy and I'm trying I try and get myself up but I just keep getting pulled back down because there's unconfessed sin in my heart and I can't rise above it will depress you unconfessed sin will make you feel ashamed verse 9 hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquities oh god I'm so ashamed don't look at what I've done God hide your face from what I've done God because I'm so very ashamed if we put your sins on the big screen would you be ashamed I'd be ashamed I'd be ashamed you know what's troubling in our nation today we've lost shame there's no fear of God anymore before people's eyes and so people on a shame the wicked strut about on every side as it says in Proverbs alms while vileness is exalted among the sons of men jeremiah said this in jeremiah 6:15 were they ashamed because of the abomination they have done they were not even ashamed at all and they didn't even know how to blush you know how to blush it's a good sign if you still know how to blush it's a good sign if you feel shame over your sin you should unconfessed sin not only does it make dirty make you feel haunted pressed ashamed but it makes you feel afraid and David was so afraid verse 11 do not cast me away from your presence and do not take your Holy Spirit from me he had seen that happened to Saul where God's hand was upon King Saul and then Sall sinned and God took his hand off Saul and David wasn't talking on me we don't have to worry as believers today that God's Spirit is going to leave us because we're sealed in him with the Holy Spirit of promise and he said and my Holy Spirit's gonna be with you forever so no matter what you do you can grieve the spirit when you sin and we do grieve the spirit when we sin but the Holy Spirit is not going to say I'm had I've had enough with you I'm out of here but for David Old Testament David where the Holy Spirit hadn't been given he had an anointing upon his life as king and he knew that that could God could take his hand off him just like he took his hand off Samson and when the scripture says of Samson when they finally cut his hair he revealed his secret and Samson said I will go out as at other times and shake myself free and the Bible said he did not know that the Lord had left him scary verse David is afraid that God is going to remove his hand he's living in fear because he has this unconfessed sin in his heart you know we've talked about in this series on Psalms we talked about having integrity integrity means wholeness and soundness integrity has been defined this way when you have integrity you have nothing to hide and nothing to fear but when you don't have integrity when everything is outward and there's not truth in the innermost being you're always a little nervous that someone is going to find out about you story is told about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle the developer creator of Sherlock Holmes he was a prankster and a practical joker and they as the story goes he sent a telegram to 12 prominent citizens in the city and he said to these men who were very prominent and very wealthy flee at once all has been discovered and inside of 24 hours every one of those men had left the country Wow they were so afraid that somebody was going to find out the things that they had done unconfessed sin Hey don't cover it up don't dress it up if you've blown it own it if you've messed up then fess up and be honest completely honest before the Lord so what are we to do man I've really blown it David really blew it and David blew it as much if not more than anyone else in this room because he was guilty of two huge sins adultery and manslaughter to cover up his adultery he came before the Lord be gracious to me O God he confessed to the Lord he opened it up he had been hiding it for nine plus months and now he opened himself up to the Lord he shared his whole heart with the Lord he begged God to cleanse him and to deliver him and to forgive him so step number three what are we to do after we do that we are to claim confidently our forgiveness from God this is huge if you want to be delivered from the ghost of guilt huge that you claim confidently your forgiveness from God now the Bible says in the New Testament first John chapter 1 verse 9 a friend of mine called this verse the Christians bar of soap if we confess our sins he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness if we confess then he's faithful and just faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from some unrighteousness from most unrighteousness from the little things of unrighteousness swim from all unrighteousness all unrighteousness whatever it is whether it's adultery whether it's abortion whether it's extortion whether it's it's selfishness whether it's lying and cheating and stealing whatever it is if we confess he's faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all of that to make us why it is snow now here's the question is that verse true can God really do that does he really do that he does if you will confess listen a key key key ingredient to getting right with God there must be godly sorrow and brokenness must be godly sorrow and brokenness I've entitled this sermon busted and broken now you can get busted but are you broken over your sin David said in verse 16 you don't delight in sacrifice otherwise I would give it you're not pleased with burnt offerings it's not the external that I just sacrifice another animal and then well then we're good to go that I just put on the the garb of religion and then we're good is it no no because God wants truth in the innermost part so he says in verse 17 the sacrifices of God are a broken spirits and a broken and a contrite heart O God you will not despise that's what God wants he wants your heart to be broken see you can get busted go down I thirty you're going 90 down I 30 feet limit is 75 which most of us that means 82 you know but you're going past 82 you're going 90 you get pulled over crud police officer said you know how fast you were going this is 75 mile an hour zone you know how fast you were going yeah officer you caught me I was doing 90 he said really I only had you at 85 but okay 90 will go with 90 III officer you got me out I was speeding we strive me my ticket I admit it I admit it you mean my ticket let me go my way you know that's an admission of guilt were you guilty yes were you busted yes are you sorry you're sorry you got caught you're not sorry for doing it and as soon as that guys in your rear view mirror and you don't see any other of his friends you're gonna be up to 90 again you're gonna get a radar detector you know I mean it's one of those things because hey I'm not sorry that I did it I'm sorry that I got caught many people come before the Lord they're sorry they got busted they're not sorry for what they did to do what the Bible says in 1st John chapter 1 verse 9 if we confess our sins the word confess means it's the greek word homo legaia it means to say the same thing as God is to think the same thing as God about your sin to look at that sin the same way God looks at it to agree with God and when you agree with God you say to the Lord Lord not only did I sin not only did I lust not only did I look at terrible things not only did I fill my mind with filth God not only did I was i jealous not only did I lie but God I not only broke your love but I broke your heart broke your heart I'm so sorry God broken and a contrite heart God won't despise that's what God is looking for he's looking to see if there's some people who be broken over their sin before the Lord before the thrice holy God of the universe there must be godly sorrow and brokenness the scripture says in 2nd Corinthians chapter 7 verse 10 godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret but worldly sorrow brings death two kinds of sorrow godly sorrow that is repentance that leads to salvation in life and there's worldly sorrow that brings regret and death two names in the Bible that you might want to put a contrast between godly sorrow and worldly sorrow godly sorrows Peter when Peter de 9 three times in the Lord's greatest hour of need denied three times that even knew the Lord Peter had godly sorrow he went out and wept bitterly the Bible says the Lord turned and looked at Peter when he cursed and swore and said I don't even know the man they locked eyes he locked eyes with Jesus and he saw in Jesus face the woke look of wounded love and he remembered and he heard the crow and he remembered what the Lord had said and he went out and wept bitterly and he repented and God restored him and he became the leader of the early church Judas sold out Jesus for thirty pieces with silver when he saw that they were going to crucify him he went before the chief priests and he took the thirty pieces of silver and he threw it back in their face and said I have sinned by betraying innocent blood and they said what is that to us see to that yourself and Judas went out filled with worldly sorrow he went out and he hanged himself worldly sorrow produces regret which produces death godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret there must be godly sorrow and brokenness and listen when there's godly sorrow when there's brokenness when there's a complete and full confession of sin there's no yeah but there's no cover-up you pull all the sheets of all of the filth that's in your hearts and you bring that before the Lord then there must be faith to believe God faith to believe God is first John 1:9 true or is it not true he's faithful and just to cleanse us from all unrighteousness problem for so many guilt-ridden christians all they they've committed a terrible sin maybe it's the sin of adultery or maybe it's the sin of abortion or maybe it's a sin that destroyed their families finances whatever that sin might be they have this sin and they confess that sin to God and they're broken over that sand and when they get off their knees asking God to forgive them they pick up the guilt of that sin and they put it back on their back and they wear guilt like a heavy coat and everywhere they go they just sell their hester prynne there's the Scarlet a and they take it with them everywhere they go and they they live even though they have confessed their sin they live in that world of unconfessed sin where there's depression and where there's dirtiness and where there's a haunting in a fear and shame what's the problem with that person that person is not believing God that's the problem because he says he'll forgive when David confessed his sin to God did God forgive him yes did God cleanse him yes did God create in him a new heart a clean heart yes because God responds to the prayer of the repentant a broken and contrite heart you will not despise Oh God the scripture says in Hebrews chapter 4 verse 2 for we have heard the good news just as they did they heard the message but it did them no good why because when they heard it they did not accept it with faith you might hear the message today about how you can leave this place free from guilt and free from shame and free from separation from God and you can say hmmm that sounds good but I don't think that's from me I don't think that's available for me you heard the good news but you didn't apply it to your own life and you didn't believe God we hear this so often with people and they'll say well you know I've confessed my sin to God but here's my problem pastor Jeff I just can't forgive myself for what I've done it sounds so good doesn't it sounds so noble you can't forgive yourself yet God can forgive you but you can't forgive you you know when you say you can't forgive yourself what you're saying is I am more righteous than God I am more holy than God the standard the bar of my judgment is higher than God's oh really well God's the thrice holy God of the universe God is too pure to look upon sin you think you're more holy than God you think you're more righteous than God your standards are higher than gods of course not person who says I can't forgive myself is putting their standards above God they're refusing to believe God so much better to say God if you say you'll forgive me then that's good enough for me and I believe you David said in a sister psalm psalm 32 i acknowledge my sin today and my iniquity i did not hide I said I will confess my transgressions to the Lord and you forgave the guilt of my sin and I don't have to live in shame any longer I can take off the Scarlet a that they put upon my chest because the blood of Jesus washes whiter than snow and I don't have to live as an adulterer anymore I can be brand new with a new heart created in me Oh got a new heart and renew a right spirit within me and listen when you have a true brokenness over sin you turn from that sin you don't keep embracing that sin you're gonna say to the Lord at Lord I am convicted because I'm living in sin because I'm living with this person and that person is not my spouse we've never been married and we're committing fornication and God forgive me of this and I'm going to separate myself from that situation I'm not going to keep living like that because that is displeasing to you I'm gonna get right John the Baptist said bring forth fruit in keeping with repentance is there faith in your heart to believe God that he will really forgive you it happens when you humble yourself before the Lord it happens when you come clean before the Lord it happens when you allow your heart to be broken by his word that you've sinned against a holy God but he's willing like the father of the prodigal son he's looking for you to see will you come back from the far country will you leave the pigsty it can happen today the protocol came to a census he said I'm here getting ready to eat pig slop my father has servants they don't need pig slop I'll go back and go to my father and say to him father I've sinned against heaven and in your sight I'm no longer worth it because your son just make me like one of your hired men and we ain't got up and left the pig side and turned to go home that's repentance and he's on his way and the father saw him is a long way off and the father ran to him filled with compassion and embraced him and kissed him and put a robe on his back and a ring on his finger and shoes on his feet and God will do the same for you though you get honest will we get honest why are we not seeing more things take place spiritually in America today I think it's because that so many Christians are just like the world and there's not truth in the innermost being and I'm speaking to myself and until we get serious about walking with God until we get open and honest and get it all out on the table and say Oh God do a work in me until we say I'm sick of
