Building River cabin (part 3)

so here's Lauren's sketch of the cabin here he's he's a professional metal roof guy so he's going to be figuring out all the lengths here and we're not going to have one extra sheet no extra three extra screws is all we're gonna have got about 90 squares in there right here it's all about it thank you [Music] yeah as you can see uh around here we're about safety we harness up anything over a 212 we'll put a harness on and uh if it's a 112 and it's um a cloudy day we'll go ahead and put a harness on too so we just we're about preserving life around here foreign [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] so uh you guys actually uh have a roofing company of your own is that right so you do this like once a week or what normally how often do you do this every other week once a week okay well that's that's good to hear so if you need uh your shingles put on uh call these guys [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] 2023 that's three days ago not even three days ago it was negative five degrees and the river was actually frozen over um but it's 65 degrees today as you can see I'm in short sleeve shirt and we are loving it oh Dad's been working here a little bit without us so didn't catch any video of him putting on the siding but he's got the front door in and started with a siding looking pretty good it's going to be bored and batten so he's putting up the the boards first and letting them dry out for a little while and then come on later and and put the battens on and paint the siding he's got his lager buddies out here they are clearing a right away for the power to bring bring power in [Applause] [Music] so it's a Friday afternoon we're gonna be working here for a couple hours we're gonna be doing some lath here let's try to work on putting some siding up here we're doing uh horizontal for siding board and batting the dynamic duo is back at it baby it's the duo you all missed once upon a time there was legends about making window here but ruined our plans [Music] all right six inches in the wrong way [Music] which way [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] hey what's your name Calder it's one of my buddies he's helping us today uh apparently he pours concrete is that what you do every now and then yeah it was just two nights of a day to pour concrete so had to uh take off work and sleep in and whatnot all right what we got going on back here is we're gonna be building a small porch and uh for the guest bedroom um like a five by ten something like that so I'm gonna start framing that up now [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] thank you [Music] thank you [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] first time operator you ever been in a machine before sir a white truck hey that's a machine right there I think here we go two days working hard baby let's go [Music] foreign [Music] how are you doing look who's back let's go [Music] sometimes yeah so um Brennan Brennan is back I'm back man has it changed a lot since you've been here it's been a lot of change so laughter when I left we had the deck on and the bottom walls but it wasn't sheeted at all and the upstairs was just starting to go up and we started to put the rafters up so a lot has changed windows in doors in uh this this whole porch is looking so much different it looks good what's our plan for today what are we hoping to get done today we have to ask you that honestly I'm just here to survive it is cold it's cold but we're gonna get it let's get it um once again who are we waiting on this morning [Music] [Applause] many years I've been looking for a place to call home but a failed here to find it so I must travel alone I don't care for fine Mansions Lord build me a cabin in the corner of glory land Lord build me a cabin in the corner of Glory [Music] that's why I came up like it's a river TM River something [Music] right here [Music] blessed Lord I'm not asking to live in the mirrors for I know I'm not worthy of such Splendor is this but I'm asking for Mercy while I'm bleed I stand Lord give me a cabin in the corner of glory land [Music] foreign [Music] [Music]
