hey everybody Welcome to the video Welcome to the channel this is our 1987 1990 and 1994 Ford Superduty scrap built from three scrap trucks dump truck project it's not a very catchy name but it's a pretty cool [Music] project now the work in this video is going to take place over several months so you're going to see the trees change you're going to see the clothes change the hair might even change who knows we're working between storms this morning we definitely rocking the Crocs cuz it's a casual day but the first step this is the one that came out of this truck this came out of that 94 it's a little different but the size and the holes are the same the biggest thing this opening is larger than this one if we stack them you can see that so we got to trim that shifter opening a little bit so we can get it to fit right I'm just going to lay it over top and kind of eyeball my Marks here [Applause] [Music] [Applause] that's what we're looking for that's how it was on the other one so that's how we'll run it I need to track down some extra J nuts just steal them right off the partch truck there's still one stuck one right here I'm take the grinder to do it just kidding the Lightning's getting close we uh oh we almost made progress on something it's got to be at least two weeks since I last filmed anything I did get new screws for these J nuts this is ready to go and what I'm going to seal the bottom with what was recommended to me and online it's called strip caulk by 3M it almost reminds me like a be tape but that's what we're going to put in that channel thinking I got enough to do it like this so another part that came in that we need because I've got the electronic fuel pump on there I need a pressure regulator this is a universal one right here with a return now what it's got on it this is the current setup and my assumption because he had a fuel pump just like I had on it prior was that this was some kind of I don't know it has got the return on it already so I figured it would work but it was pretty noticeable that our pump was over pressurizing the carburetor and we're getting fuel all over the place so we're going to add one oh Mike you ever installed one of those oh just they're just so often have I done these that probably with my eyes closed what is that for I don't need that can I plug that the right side is to the fuel rail the one out the bottom is the return okay came with this bracket on there I'm just going to pop it off for now we're going to have to modify it to get it to work around 7 to eight pounds is what I was told for this carburetor the adjustment is on the top there it would be neat if it said what it came preset at but I just I don't I don't know let's let's just let's hot wire the pump and see what happens so we're just jumping the pump cuz I don't have anything hooked up on the key yet see let's see what happens up here oh God fuel everywhere I was trying to figure out where this little o-ring went I think our experiment showed me I believe it goes in between these two pieces and it's not there right now so that's that's probably going to be a big part of this okay oh that feels a lot better though actually feels like it'll seal something um so so after trying a bunch of configurations and I finally track down a manual for it or a diagram on Amazon I've got it hooked up the way they recommend but I'm still not showing any pressure on the pressure gauge when I hook the fuel pump up I got it off right now I'm going to kick the engine over and let it run with what's in the carburetor we'll just let it run out of gas then we'll fire the pump up and take off from there and see what happens maybe if we don't if we don't blow up [Music] there she goes so now she's out fuel we'll plug the pump up and we'll see what she does from there [Music] definitely burning some stuff off that we got on the outside that's good gets all the oil and gas off the side of the block does seem to be doing what it needs to do I suppose for now do something different for a little bit then a little bit Degreaser to kind of clean it up and then we'll do some acetone across that cardboard probably to protect the old radiator there I'll just back out these radiator support bolts real quick then we can just kind of tilt that back and shove some cardboard in custom cut there that's put this Above the Rest oh yeah oh gosh oh yeah how do you do it Mike how do you make things look so good that's it's an art you know absolute art form you just you just don't wake up with this kind of skill level you know oh no oh no I got to pick up another couple rattle cans well she's a start though next big thing we need to do we've got all the body mounts in place lined up and bolted but we got to put these plugs in right here these these little covers go in and there's one of the body mount bolts right there so I need to get those all torqued down so we can get these covers in then I got to patch that little section the floor mat can go in and then the bench seat F I can see where the top section is there and the bottom goes down right there I got everything started the Winch just kind of wedged in there normally I like to torque the nut side of things but I don't have good access to it so we're just going to do the bolt side on the other side just set this big chunk of plate on top of the bolt that way it kind of holds it down for me whenever I'm trying to get the nut started and then we got that one in patch this real quick I'm just realizing I don't know what to do exactly about the shifter in this scenario how does that work with this piece let's get it out here and see if just makes sense luckily I've been walking on this thing for months so it'll blend right into the rest of the truck way it go there we go now what do we do with [Music] it there we go I mean it's all in I what do I do what do I do about this do you cut it and put it over it got to leave enough room for the shift or do you um just put you know you wouldn't want to put a slit that wouldn't look good but it I think we line it up with the pan we go get the boot we make a mark and we cut that square out down and over I think I think that's what we do yeah sure anytime I'm cut material it's just nerve-wracking you just is it the right move get attacked by pterodactyl in here all right there away all right trimmed too much off the front when I did it and I don't like that and it makes me unhappy go throw this carpet on the back it's dirty it's nasty just like everything else a lot of people made the com I can't believe I wouldn't clean some of these parts before we put them back in what I need you to keep in mind want to be impossible for me to keep this clean as I work on it and two when it's all said and done we're going to drive it down to a buddy of mine he does detailing and he's going to get her all cleaned up for so no sense of going through and trying to keep this stuff clean while we're working on it when I got a guy that can just do it for me when I'm done new clips you can get these things at any auto parts store or just was throwing this back up on the cab I think I want to go ahead and put the seed in here this isn't laying perfectly flat I think some days with some hot sun baking in here will help it calm down a little bit but it's pretty close to where it needs to be I don't think we're going to be hurting ourselves any if we get that bench in here I just remembered that somewhere on this side is a stud for the seat it's right there there we go there we go don't really have much of a plan here shocker but I like the direction this is going oh we're stuck twisty jerky motion that's what's good for it okay the yeah that's on and we'll just slide that back to where it catches it should be where it needs to be so I just have a wood burner and we're just melting through where the rubber is and I got a pick to kind of help pick everything out [Music] pretty wild a fella can sit up here again okay the next thing I need to address is when I put the ignition switch back in not the tumbler itself but the device down on the column I'll show you here in a second I didn't get it lined up right and I just think it'd be a peach if we could start this thing from the key you know if I drop the column to do it things just pop off and we'll just drop the column again real quick there we and then right in here I got two nuts right there I got to loosen up we'll get the rod slid back that Rod is what's attached to the key that's what actuates little slider switch inside of here we'll get it lined up the way we need it lined up and then hopefully we can start this from inside here so I couldn't get it to go in that lock position so what I did is I just fiddled with it until it felt right you know the right thing to do I suppose exer wire here I don't want it to start cuz not everything's attached I just kind of want to bump it we're missing a safety somewhere oh that's got to be hooked up to something yet what's that get hooked up to well the clutch safety is not hooked up to something you go to something but what this I bet you go to this I bet you go all the way up here wow but [Music] anyway we can do that now [Applause] yeah that's plenty this one first so I'm actually just going to take the choke off to be honest with you cuz call me crazy but with the electric fuel pump I don't really feel like I need to mess with the choke you know we're just going to take it off there I wouldn't be against trying to wire up that fuel pump and then maybe we really could start and run it from in here so here's the wiring harness that runs to the back of the truck we cut it off with the other truck everything is pretty much junk from here back anyway what we got to figure out is what goes to the fuel pump which should be these wires here the rest of these should be lights and then we got to get it hooked up here it uses three wires a power a ground and this which is for the float switch which tells you how much fuel's in the tank they don't make that harness or I couldn't find that harness but I did find this Universal kit that fits that plug we're up here now it fits that plug got some wire my crimpers the plug a multimeter we're going to see if we can't figure out which wires it needs to be I'm suspecting that these two going be our hot in our ground we're going to stab them with the multimeter I get 12 volts between these two I turn the switch off get nothing turn the switch on I get 12 all the brown and white is the power the black one's going to be the ground I'm switching the brown and white over to a red just for my brain sake because the red is the hot on the actual pump heat shrink connectors and then just some regular heat shrink over that let's see so we're going to run this outside of the frame for now for testing purposes then in theory we can unplug the harness and run it where we need to now I'm thinking this yellow wire is the sending wire for the fuel gauge but I could be way off my only reason I'm guessing that is this was attached to the fuel system and nothing else makes sense I'm going to turn this on to 12 volt and make sure we don't get anything you where are you guys at I want to test this yellow wire I'm thinking this is for the fuel gauge I'm not 100% sure the only reason I think that is this was attached to the fuel system I don't know what else a yellow wire would be used for I do want to put power to the switch turn this on and make sure I'm not getting any power into this I don't think we want to pump 12 volts into the gas tank so I did a wild thing and I looked at the wiring diagram for the front tank it's dark blue with yellow stripe which is that one from the rear tank it's yellow with blue stripe which is the one I'm hooking up to so that's that's got to be it then because those both go into that the microphone died so the audio probably changed my apologies that's the one for the rear tank that's the one for the front tank this is the one that actually goes up into the harness right it's got to be that one fuel gauge has been showing full the whole time if we got that hooked up right we should get a change battery on look at that I don't know if I believe that I don't think I've put that much in it it's still adjusting some though but hopefully that's actually working fuel pumps pumping look at that that is Magic let me pull this fine piece of art throw these bolts back in here so we don't carve anything into the radiator would you line up well let's give it a go here [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so that's kind of cool this doesn't move at all I'm guessing I got a wire somewhere but we're going to want to figure that out before we run it too much but that is a treat don't have that yet either few dollars in some Loom LOM there you are yeah uhhuh we can get that wiring all cleaned up and routed up I got those doors I want to swap over for these cuz they're in way better shape than what these doors are I've got everything I want to do we still got to redo the outside of these frames I've got all that stuff I've got the paint for the actual cab I've got brand new lights and all the other old parts to put the whole front clip back together and I got everything I need to get the wiring routed so I say let's go on this for another video or two and get some progress done while we're waiting for the lift on the YouTube yacht starts and runs from the inside now what a treat also disclaimer I know for like the past four videos which is about two weeks worth of videos I've said we're waiting on the lift in reality all those videos were filmed within 4 days we haven't been waiting for a lift for 2 weeks we've only been waiting for about 4 days at this point in time that's just the way my schedule works I get about 4 days to film stuff and then I can't film anything for two or 3 days but regardless we're coming back to it on the next one thank you guys for watching
