Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
I'd love something like this for getting around town where I live now. So quiet!
At 350-450lb for the bike+rider weight, i'd probably never take it on the highway with that front disc. I'm sure the motor braking is probably pretty stout, or can be tuned that way so it alleviates some of the need, but a proper front disc size is imperative for emergency braking.
Of course, the video maker knows that already so it's not like some blinding oversight. I'd classify this as somewhere in the moped class. Looks like a banger for around town/city stuff. Nice build.
This would be awesome with an existing frame if the motors and things weren't so expensive compared to gas engines.
No one's mentioned his "40-50% avg slope" comment at 22:58?
Maybe he meant 14-15%?
Looking for areas around Lake Magagauvic with steep slopes, this is about the steepest I've found.
here's where he did his u-turn after the first odo check during his range test.
Whatβs HPH?
what is the legal distinction between an e-bike and an electric motorcycle?
Love the project, but I wouldn't go gear-less (especially no gloves) on my first ride (or any). But serious skill went into making that.
The skill shown is fantastic and the bike is amazing for multiple reasons. But these bikes confuse me. We already get massive mileage on gas powered bikes, compared to cars and trucks, and the electric bikes don't have anywhere near the range that a gas powered bikes has. I just don't see the real value here.
dunno i'd trust the geometry on a hand made bike. granted a small motor like that is never going to go that fast... his 100+ kph seemed to be downhills. but like... the rear shock, the front brake, those front forks.... all like real skimpy.
excellent fabrication. but... obviously outside the reach of anyone but a metal worker.
