Building a Tipi / Wickiup Long Term Bushcraft Shelter | Sweden 2019

[Music] [Music] hello guys and welcome back to Ted some adventures today it's me Adam yeah we're out in the forest to build yet another shelter as you see behind us this is a lost shelter it's a frame shelter and yeah we're gonna pick that apart and build a teepee at this time and for me the best thing about a teepee is that you can have the fire inside the shelter not a lot of shelters you can do that with but we're gonna try that today so it should be really nice and cozy inside tonight let's not stand here and talk let's do this let's do it okay so you're gonna start with TP and so far we have these branches of trees right here from previous trips and now we've been out searching for three long months that's going to be the base of the TP and we're gonna have about 4 meters long trees so I'm gonna measure up four meters and then we're gonna start trying them together to make inform the tripod let's start with it so now it's time to tie them together so I will tie them somewhere here so say somewhere between half a meter and a meter down and after that we will stand them up right so now we've got the basic frame for our shelter we've got these support pillars and then at the top we've attached these three six basically the idea is to reinforce these walls all the way around create an entrance that way and leave it completely open at the top here that's so that we can have a fire in the middle in the shelter and the smoke will go at the top and this side is where all sleep around the edges and put still be completely protected from the rain and the elements so that's the principle of how this works let's give it a go right so what we're doing here is we're using these recycled spruce branches from the last shelter and we're weaving them through this in order to give this bit more support and also to give us a base for where we're gonna put the insulation we're gonna give it a go using moss there's plenty of moss here in the woods so we're leaving this on in these old branches in order to pile the most on here that you gave us a good resolution for tonight tonight I've been called into work unfortunately so I'm gonna have to leave here in about an hour so we're basically focusing on getting one wall done which we'll do as a makeshift shelter for Adam tonight this is where I get my moss yeah any of us yes sir so you're trying to get as big pieces as possible yeah there we go nice one well I gotta go okay so have a nice night thank you see you tomorrow will do now could you add some more months and after that we'll eat and there's a lot of mosquitoes here so I really need to get a fire going soon yeah it's nine o'clock in the evening and yeah anything now I'm boiling some water in the ravioli can and Emma called and she's coming out after her work I think she she quits at around two o'clock tonight so it's gonna be late and as you see I have some smoke now which is perfect because the mosquitos kind of went away whoops I think I saw it myself that's what's going on so I guess we will see if the shelter is waterproof tonight because it just started raining out there for a couple of hours more and then I might go to bed so we'll see so it started raining heavier so I crawled into my shelter so far it's really dry inside yeah fingers crossed I want to be so tonight good night guys so it's still raining time is two o'clock in the night and I'm very very dry so this shelter work it's really really good hi all right yeah so here I am instead of going home after work I finished work at 1:30 so instead of going home I decided to come out here and join Adam so here I am three o'clock in the morning it's getting light and I'm tired and making my bed ready to crawl into my sleeping bag and get a good morning sleep awesome awesome good night see you in six hours or so good morning guys it's been raining the whole night yeah this shelter really worked I'm totally dry we're gonna have something to eat Emma brought some food with her yesterday when she came in the night some cheese and ham and all limbs and stuff it's gonna be a luxury camping or a luxury morning this morning yeah now we're gonna eat inside here I guess the hope that the rain stops ooh and we have one wall left and then the entrance and of course moving in the the fire pit and stuff like that that's gonna be good awesome breakfast on the first sheet straight out in the woods and awesome and after seeing this Emma from her food from her work what do you think her line of work is please comment that in the comment section first right answer first right answer will have the opportunity to go with us the next camping for survival survival trip digging at this root so that we can dig little pit here and our fire and there we go priorities right there and I think we will start a fire we got some heats up and yeah maybe even dry sauna clothes camping in a shelter is from awesome every time even days like this so the rain us went away it's gone away yeah and now we're gonna keep building the shelter yep so now we're gonna build the last side and that includes the entrance into the teepee yeah lunch yes lunch we're gonna fry some burgers yeah gonna be awesome actually so that's good lunch I did so food was awesome and now it's back to work just a little bit more more small [Music] okay guys awesome so this was it for Nice video!

One tip - fix your audio levels - the music was very loud, so I had to turn the volume down, but then all the way back up because you're very quiet when you talk. And then I was clicking around and got blasted by loud music again.

Here in the USA the food cans have a thin coating of plastic on the inside of the can to protect the food from having a metallic flavor. Do other countries do the same? It's been known to cause cancer if you cook the food inside of the can.
