The theoretical endpoint of the spend $X to play Minecraft meme
I wonder what upgrading this thing would look like in a few years time
Our society really is fucked when people who play video games for a living are spending $100k on a PC while our educators can't even afford rent.
Well they definitely didnβt fuck around on this one, did they
An interesting call out about βSaudi princesβ at the end. Has Linus mentioned being asked by whale buyers to do custom systems/collabs before?
Where's the jank? Doesn't feel LTT anymore
I can see them eventually putting in some kind of policy around these builds or just starting to outright reject them. Like he mentioned, their engineering time is important.
made it about half way, the energy felt really weird and forced.. along with the whole checklist thing felt like a e-learning from work
The reddit is stroooong in these comments.
Dude has made a ton of money by being entertaining. He wants to spend money on something cool. That 100k paid a bunch of people skilled at engineering and CnC and general tech assembly to do something freaking awesome, and y'all bitching about "out of touch" and "kids starving in Africa!"?
Let's not send a man to the moon, we could use that money for other stuff. Let's not push the limits of car engineering and speed, we could use that money for other stuff. Let's not develop next Gen games, graphics are good enough now. Stop buying art, that cash should pay my rent. Where does it stop?
There is nothing more out of touch than complaining about how other people spend their money.
This was a super cool build, pushing the limits of what is a "computer", and people are whining about "out of touch" or "not jank enough".
That got me good.
