Build A Roof Between 2 Shipping Containers - Episode 1

[Music] morning everyone i hope you're doing okay in corona time but uh out here at the ranch we're gonna work on a couple things trying to stay busy so i've got this connex here that was on the property uh when we bought it uh it's a little rusty you will have to address that one day but i got another high cube coming out that we are going to place on uh the roadway there kind of on the to the right of that metal rack that i've got there and then i'm going to span in between the two uh with some beams in those purlins that are on that rack and we're going to make a little covered area in between the two connexes you know store some hay down there whatever but today to get ready for when the new conex gets here i've gotta take out the rest of this tree i cut down a little bit of it the other day just the side that was leaning towards the right but the conex ended up not making it in time so i got a little bit more time to cut down the rest of the tree and work on getting some other stuff out of the what'll be the middle section here so let's get to it [Music] we got the tree down now we're gonna go get the tractor and pick it all up and put it in a pile and i'll cut it up the rest of the way later make some firewood out of it it's nice oak wood try and keep all the all the oak that we can [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so we got the tree hauled out of the way i'm gonna cut the stump down a little lower to the ground the uh stump grinder is not exactly the fastest thing so chainsawing as much material away as you can before you use a stump grinder seems to help [Music] [Music] all right we got the stump cut down the rest of the way now we are going to start moving a couple of things out of here uh i did another video on the roof rack that i built on my kubota for hauling longer items like that pole saw if you want to check that out these blocks here i made those for lifting the connects i've got a another couple videos i'll post of the dimensions of those how i built them and video showing how i lifted up the conex and it's fully loaded it's extremely heavy but uh we're gonna go ahead and get the tractor and try and move out the mower there the wood chipper and just get a little bit more of the ground ready for when the new container gets here hopefully monday my [Music] i went got a strap one thing i've always found pretty handy is to keep your shackle on the back of your tractor keep mine there on that draw bar so when you grab your strap you got a shackle handy i'm gonna go ahead and hook that up real quick and we will drag her out of there [Music] so [Music] here's the new connex being delivered we got this one from richie brothers auctions it was about three thousand bucks somewhere right around there uh some brand new connex never used uh it's really really good shape and it was convenient too it kind of matched the color of my other one there i found these guys on craigslist to deliver the connex i think i paid him right around 300 to bring it out and drop it off stay tuned for the next episodes once i get to building the roof in between the two and uh thank you for watching and take care [Music] you
