Bryson DeChambeau’s RIDICULOUS drives on No. 6 at Arnold Palmer

we've got perhaps more fireworks brewing at the par five sixth if you've been with us all week and you've been noting bryson deshambo's infatuation with this hole he needed the right wind the crowd is urging him on it's 340 yards across to get there and it looks like part of looks like he might be giving it a shot bones you're with the group he's going danny and everybody behind this t is with him this is what makes him the most interesting player in the game today he literally let everybody know on monday tuesday actually this was going to be a possibility no one's ever tried this in competition in the history of this event and that's where he's headed just a little bit right a bit but this ball appears to be hammered [Applause] wow that's so far up there and now to be honest with you it's in the right rough with the hole cut front right and no one's having more fun gary than deshambo yeah did you see what he did both hands in the air as if to say you wanted it did it you got it yep well paul we'll take another look at this swing real speed watch this just [Applause] what a reaction this is like a long drive right here right here and this is the driver dan that he says he can't hit as far as his other driver this one's the little one that's a little bit heavier and wait where's the belt well he can redefine the sport really if he keeps this up that flew so far that would have easily carried on the green if he decided to take that route let's take another look at this gary he had to hit this right on the button look at his reaction he knew it was far enough 194 mile an hour ball speed about this turn watch the lower body explode up as he comes through gets his all his weight off the ground virtually at that point he's just must weigh two pounds at that point he swung up and hit so hard on it bryson's got a five degree driver and he's trying to hit eight degrees up on gary it's incredible yeah fun to watch oh it's it's amazing you know number six was the epitome of it i've never had so many people just cheering me on to do something pretty cool and i'd have that opportunity and to execute it was pretty special and something hopefully i can do tomorrow as well again see you ask we deliver it let's go to six right now take a look at it the fans are right behind you we can't see this we can't see you i was definitely nervous i wanted it good and i caught it pretty solid it was definitely 10 miles an hour down i was like go that was pretty cool i didn't know how else to react but i think it might have gotten to the green it might have done it if i would have hit it at the green if it just hooked just a touch more it definitely would have reached at least the green maybe even the back bunker to the right there they've gathered there again and he has been spurred on and how about the wind today gary well it's helping and from the right so it's fairly similar to what it was yesterday and we see their 342-yard carry going directly at the green now yesterday's ball ended up some 370 yards but it was calculated that it carried some 346 yards in the air that's not a lot of room for error if you go directly at the other part of the equation fellas if he does elect to go that way he's got to hit it right on the button any kind of mess and it won't make it he's going to have to scorch it on the right trajectory and hope the wind doesn't knock it down gary that's the one thing i wonder if the wind's blowing so hard that it can help hurt the ball flight he can't go at it today connie tied for the lead i mean if you're gonna pick a spot to change the game this could be the one it's it's almost a game-changing decision i mean if he wants to go with this that's the driver well if he takes the line he took yesterday guys and puts it even into the right row it has a great angle to play to that hole where it is cut today he didn't yesterday with the front right hand that he does with the back left pin he could have gone directly at the green yesterday and made it he went to the right cell phones up here we go and that's where it's headed and it makes it easily easily and now he has a wonderful angle to play a second shot to this whole location what a drive that's what he's prepared for he's trained to do that to exploit his power crowd absolutely loves it his reaction was a little different than yesterday paul i think he was uh not quite sure it was going to carry well it does get into that bunker he was aiming at but still a very good angle to play to the hole talk about a hard swing the build up is almost as exciting as the actual swing little thunder incredible wind-up use the lower body push up off the ground and let this club just turn and burn power personified everybody's thunder struck by it spieth can't take his eyes off him as well [Applause] it is indeed become the must-see moment in golf bryson deshambo the sixth when you're playing with bryce and when i'm playing with bryce and i'm not going to go out there and and go blow for blow with him you know some people you know can do that and and will do that but you know that's that's the way for me to play myself out of out of a tournament you know i know he's going to go left i don't know if he saw me i ate mine and then i gave it the like that just had a bit of fun with it you know you know i hit that it was a little bit in off the right i think i got it out there about 310 315 down there so you know only 70 or 80 behind him he's got the benefit of the angle that uh crowd at six once he found land kind of reminded me of like a goal at emirates or something like that was that the loudest celebration you've ever seen off a t-box for a drive yeah yeah i guess so yeah yeah there's the anticipation there people want him to go for it and there'll come a time when he aims further left won't then maybe in a practice round next year or the pro am he'll go straight at the green not not checking out and go right at that trap i knew that the wind was helping it's funny the farther left you go the more helping it was today i knew that if i tried to go with the bunkers it would i'd be hitting it into the wind and so i said you know what if i hit a draw if i just hit a draw and i started out and draw it far enough left it'll get over and certainly i i was able to do that and i hit it a little low so i was not really sure if it was going to get over but luckily i hit it good enough to have the right spin right on it to get it over today it wasn't anything pre-planned it just it was a pure reaction out of trying to get as far as i possibly can and i think one of the things too to note when i'm doing my speed training sessions there are some times where i'm doing stuff like that where it's really emotional i'm hitting as hard as getting like yeah let's go uh so i i feel like when i hit that one really hard that was just my raw emotion i'm saying go come on clear the water uh so that was that was definitely fun i think that yes there is an entertaining part of it we are the pga tour and uh i do believe that we are amazing entertainers and we show the world why we're the best and i it's fun to certainly do so and do it in a manner that's a little different than what's been done before
