Broken Excavator Boom!!! How to fix it!

all right so now I'm back to working on this thing I made a repair here not long ago replace all those pieces all over the sides and I'll try and make a video of that as well they put it all back together ready to work forgot that they had this crack over here which is here been repaired before my me actually but while it was on the machine which is very difficult to access so I was only able to gosh you know here as best I could in here and there's some time here that needed some welding as well it held up here for a while but it just jumped over I guess it went across the top there's a little what's so very similar fashion to that other one what I'm gonna try and do is I'm gonna try and cut this section right here and this right here and put in a patch plate there that way I can have some backup blades here and so I'll cut that loose hopefully that'll let this relax down hopefully let this pop back out the way suppose be and under here as well it's got some cracks I don't like those but I just trying to fix those as they are I think once I get this plate here I replace this should hold pretty strong from that point forward so I could say a next step is to try and see if and you think maybe cut this loose here and see if this relaxes any maybe we'll see if I know got some kind of screwed up push down on this spot right here right here pretty good almost two-thirds of the way up here but as they say relax it's only metal and so I'll give my best shot alright we'll see you guys [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] in available [Music] [Music] [Music] all right so what I'm gonna do the way that the material practice you cracked almost linear like correct tonight straight through the materia the crackles international they're trying to portray right through row to the center of the crack if there's any linear we [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] bigger than I thought it looks like time for a backing plate now kind of screwed it up so JC he cut at an angle I got the wrong angle so I said upside-down bevel kinda stinks that's right once I get this flattened and cleaned up actually you can put a wide piece of Mack you played in here and that would be just the same so it'll be fine it's not what I expected a little differently a fun but it's all fixable so looking good so far all right I think okay so I almost forgot a couple steps here but I will I can catch up to speed so basically this has topped up a little bit what's online so using the clamps here with that bar to kind of hold it straight welded this up here from this inside here it's all had to do some cleaning from the underside but that's no big deal since it's almost like a route past starting with the route first or the backside kind of weird either way it works and so I cut a piece of flat bar to use as a back in strip just a quarter by four or quarter by three years and I like these mechanical Jackson you use off of cars they're really handy and earlier and strong and so now the next step is of course to try and fill this gap it's a great big gap but that way I can get a better route pass to say and I'll run a couple passes with a flux core I use a cap shield 21b once I get a little bit closer to the end cap like past the hut I guess after running 70 18 and so that's next give the flicks far out start welding I guess if I hang tight you [Music] alright somebody you guys may know this or somebody guys may not but and it's a little cold sometimes these vows delicate or touchy so what you can do is just with tied this little lever here Oh clean up with a grinder or maybe not okay so I had them laid over and inside and this is a mess that I made this one from the inside I just welded a well past to try and bridge the gap but being on this side now what I'll do is on our couch all that out and then we at least I'll have some material I didn't put it back in quit on that one and I just gotta continue that way that way this has some cracks here the titty that way and then just fill it all up so almost there good thing I saw that that looks like it's cracked as well so looking good fortunately moving around all right I think that [Music] [Music] before I got too far it's pretty much done but they're walled up all that world enough I still need a world this side up it's most likely gonna get dark I kind of done so thought I'd finish it out by showing you guys the progress or the final I use my needle scaler right there you're gonna pick at that a little bit I like the I like the texture it isn't that way when you paint over Hill it almost doesn't look like it was welded and of course here you'll be able to tell us wealthy but they're almost look factory ish sort of so anyway gotta do it very straightforward repair hope you guys dig it
