when streets are crowded and loud it may be difficult to hear someone call your name when it is cloudy it may be difficult to see the sun just because it's crowded doesn't mean your name wasn't called and just because it's cloudy doesn't mean the sun is not there we are in the midst of a season like none other in my lifetime and for many it may be hard to see blessings but just like the sun they are there on november 28th we will hear testimonies of praise through this pandemic and we want your stories too if you want others to hear your short testimony of praise send your 30 second video to anderson one of the sabbath school kindergarten teachers at brinklow it has been much too long since we have seen each other but i come today with good news november the 7th 2020 at 10 o'clock in the morning when did i say boys and girls you're right november the 7th 2020 at 10 o'clock in the morning we will be back together with sabbath school now we have things to do we have songs to sing and we have prayers to pray and we have gems to memorize and hide in our hearts we have testimonies to share bible stories to enjoy and art to create as we learn more about our best friend jesus will you be church family and to those who are joining us on this happy sabbath day happy sabbath to you and happy thanksgiving weekend i pray that uh with the restrictions and the unusual approach this holiday season this thanksgiving season you still thoroughly enjoyed your day and are enjoying your weekend i don't know about you but although the numbers were significantly less because of the restrictions it seems like if your home was like my home the cooking was still way beyond what was expected uh we changed the number but we did not change the feasts so happy sabbath to you and we're so glad that you have decided to join us this is a great sabbath to be connected at the emanuel brinklow virtual church family we are so delighted that you have chosen to be here i pray your family your friends your loved ones others are also joining us for this special worship service that we have planned for you today i'm pastor anthony medley i'm the senior pastor of the emmanuel brinkle church family and i'm delighted on behalf of the pastoral staff and team uh to bring these announcements to you this morning you will meet many of the staff uh individuals in our church lobby later on but let me give you some important announcements for today for you to understand and to celebrate with us god's goodness i want to begin by praising god for the grocery grab and go that took place on this past sunday you need to know that for this grocery grab-and-go that we just had last sunday before thanksgiving holiday that through god's goodness and his grace over 900 families were served you heard me correctly praise god for that over 900 families were served and i'm just so grateful with how god has led us it has blessed us you remember when we started in march uh we started as a pilot program with about 25 families and look what god has done over 900 families it also shows two things that god is blessing our efforts to serve our communities and it's also showing how the need is growing that individuals um there is food secure insecurity taking place throughout our counties and it's not just any class of people multiple classes of people rich middle-class low-income people so many individuals if they've lost jobs uh if they have now unemployed if the needs are great we're just glad that we can accommodate those or who are in need with food and security so praise god for over 900 families that will serve i also want to take a moment to thank our partners that make this possible we also did covet testing and i think there are almost 200 individuals who came through for our covet testing on last sunday thank you to the african-american health program for your partnership for montgomery county and being a part of us uh we're doing this this food is because of lash the living legends award for service to humanity dorian hines for her great team her contribution and her commitment makes this possible for us brinkle cares the brinkleo cares team uh hoc in montgomery county all those in montgomery county uh operation reach back the annual thanksgiving drive we thank you for your partnerships uh with our church in order for us to accommodate these needs of feeding and providing resources for over 900 families i want to give a special shout out to our volunteer teams uh the thanks the volunteer teams some come on thursday and some come on sunday they sort they pack the deliveries that take place of the registration the traffic control did i say the traffic control uh uh the vehicles that come through all the events that have taken place thank you to those who continue to volunteer uh for the grocery grab and go many heroes exist behind the scenes and we praise god for you also now i want to transition and tell you what took place this past week the emmanuel brinkle health ministries team attended a virtual conference uh sponsored by the bombing gilead healthy churches 2030 where public health and faith communities address health disparities in black and brown communities i'm mentioning this to you because the emmanuel brinkleo health team will be working on its own health plan for 2030. what will we do what does god call us to do in terms of our responsible health ministries for the next 10 years and i ask you to pray for this initiative that will take place under the leadership of dr ted watkins and all those who are part of the health ministries team it was a phenomenal conference that we attended there were about 15 individuals from the church that participated in this four-day conference uh to learn how to serve our communities more so so may god bless us as we move forward i also want to say today that there are individuals that we must keep in prayer this is for special prayer while ted trent bud was serving on last sunday and trent bud and pat budd they do herculean work for the grocery grab and go when trent bud got home that evening he he discovered he was notified that his brother in florida was killed uh in a motorcycle accident so we asked you to keep trent bud and the bud family and their extended family uh in prayer uh during this time uh because of the tragic loss of his brother please pray for them we also want to remind you of the fact that um we asked you to pray for dr rocharthur smith there in huntsville alabama his family candace and others smith are members of brinkley keep dr rocketther smith in our prayers we knew him at pine forge at oakwood as a profound professor especially in chemistry and sciences uh keep dr rockether smith in prayer and this morning we heard from our own chaplain stephen stephanie grant to ask the church family to lift up her mom uh mom grant we are praying for you that god will sustain you and keep you even today that god will be merciful and come close to you so i'm asked you to keep these individuals in your prayers and we will pray for them at the beginning of our a lobby experience after our service today speaking of our service today there are there are several things that i need you to know and that is uh number one oh i forgot one other announcement it's an important announcement that there's i think a thon coming by from the living legends on december the 1st of thank a farm from 6 to 8 30 p.m that's on december the 1st please be mindful of that announcement look forward in the emmanuel brinkler blast and and please respond appropriately now for today's program today's thanksgiving program is not like anything we have experienced this year this is not your traditional worship experience this takes us to an entirely different level of engagement today there will be powerful testimonies powerful prayers that will be taken place in our worship service and then we will have uh dispersed throughout today we will have a concert from jj hairston to from brinkleo crazy and those two phenomenal giddy sisters we're looking forward to them today so we are glad that you have chosen to be a part of us for this special thanksgiving celebration worship experience god is going to bless you for that thank you for being with us special thanks to our team our special uh events team they called themselves would be here with the coronavirus disease it's caused the loss of life loss of health financial stress all sorts of ongoing systemic problems however through it all god has still been good so that's what we're here to celebrate today through testimony and song welcome to pandemic praise [Music] i'm thankful for my life because it's amazing my food my family especially my baby sister waking up every single day and that roof that's over my head today i'm thankful for is my legos my mom my dad my sister and what i'm most thankful for is guys happy thanksgiving everyone bye i am thankful for shelter food guys the seasons the holidays and my parents tragedies are commonplace all kinds of diseases people are slipping away economy's down people can't get enough pain as for me all i can say is thank you [Music] folks without homes living in the street and the drug had at some stage they just can't beat mothers and robbers no place seems to be safe but you've been my protection every step of the way thank you me [Music] these things [Music] [Music] is you can't keep me thank you [Music] thank you thank you thank you thank you lord thank you lord thank you thank you lord thank you thank you thank you for keeping me thank you thank you you probably remember where you were when you were told you need to work from home but if you didn't get that call if you weren't an essential worker what would you do what happened to your job security let's see how the next person navigated that challenge um hello brinkleo this is rashawn and i just wanted to share my testimony um i wanted to start off with first of all how amazing 2019 was it was uniquely amazing in that i was able to do a lot of traveling of course that was in oshkosh year and i had amazing time at oshkosh and went to a couple of different beaches and traveled all over the place and it was just an amazing year and of course going into 2020 i didn't expect anything less than a year that was going to continue the the role and the pattern of just bringing really cool stuff i mean 2019 i even went to to cali you know what i'm saying with the san diego and like it was just the year for track for travel right y'all know where this is going and so um so 2020 comes in um i think i think for most of us especially if you follow basketball the death of kobe was like the hill heading downward and um but you know still having hopes that 20 20 would be cool of course there was some some talk in the background about covid and things happening overseas and you're not really you know it's happening but you don't anticipate in hitting america the way that it did and so i'm a barber i'm in an industry that obviously um kind of forces social distancing to not exist and um and why was one of the businesses that had to close for that lockdown um i wasn't i was concerned at first mostly because the rise of kovid was starting to really get on the roll prior to us having to close down so i was worried about not being able to work um well not even not being able to work i was worried about possibly being exposed that was my first concern and i literally the day before our business lock went to lockdown i actually had cleared the day because i decided personally that it was getting too risky and i wanted to just protect myself so i cleared my roster i told all my clients um you know due to what's going on i'm just gonna take a step back the next day everything locked down um it was actually the reverse because i felt more at ease at the fact that i wouldn't be putting myself at risk we didn't really know what kobe was and what was going on we just knew was hitting this place hard and so i felt a bit of calm knowing that we kind of had to shut down and from that moment i just went on this determination this determined route to make sure that however long we had to do this thing i was going to make sure that i came out on the other side better than when i started and i literally just told god it's up to you like i i'm my hands are tired at this point the state legally restricted barbers from working from traveling to homes which makes perfect sense and so i had to sit and i'm not used to sitting and i'm i'm not used to not working i don't like to just not do anything um so it was an adjustment but instead i took the time to literally focus on developing myself personally i was taking classes um i started doing like fitness with other people and i started really focusing on the the unique shift i had to make to make sure that i stayed in shape without a gym so that went to a lot that went through uh some transitions and learning about new things and figuring out what's available to me that i can use at home to the point where you know i developed a really good process and was able to work with folk um so things kind of shifted in that arena way more reading just way more using my time the way i wanted and part of that was like doubling my time spent with god and every day and it's something i even adjusted my schedule to this day to accommodate for the amount of time that i spent with god that i was able to spend with god um when we were on lockdown and so um a lot of growth happened there spiritually and god just showed up in ways that i had never expected i had clients that were like giving me money cash apping me money on a consistent basis um like extended family family friends that would just i would get money in the mail i had clients calling me and would you know just send stuff here and there our um landlord praised god had cut the cost um cut our our rent and it was just blessing after blessing after blessing where i literally could do nothing but just sit and be thankful that god was literally covering everything and so i praise god for peace of mind i mean i praise god for things are not the way that they could be i'm still not back in full capacity at the shop yet and things are still you know it's still a challenge financially but god showed up and you know i have partial unemployment still left it kind of helps take care of some things and i just have no reason to believe that once that runs out because it will and god will still have something for me and will continue to bless me and continue to support me and i'm just that was probably the biggest it started in 2019 um the san diego trip was a whole nother ballgame but i will say that trip alone helped me understand what god means or what when the bible says that god is a provider what that actually looks like 2019 was wrapped in proving to me exactly what that means like tangibly when god says he will provide like i saw money come from nothing to allow me to attend not just oshkosh but a family reunion trip and i mean that situation prepared me to be able to sit in this moment or in that moment during the lockdown and and help me learn okay god showed you what he's capable of in that circumstance now here's a a bigger trial bigger trial what are you gonna do about it how are you gonna go through this season and this is a testimony that is still in the works but he's already done it in the past and i know he'll do it again and i started a fitness business and things like that i have clients so although i'm not like raining down the clientele situation just yet it still helps i've been able to do design work i've been able to do other things the other talents that god has given me to be able to fill in the gaps here and there i'm just you know resting in god at this point even now and i just praise god and i encourage anyone that might be going through any type of situation just put it before god there's a certain level of rest that i don't think we get as christians when god says like rest in him like it surpasses sabbath rest and all of that to be able to go through a hard time and be at peace is a whole new situation for rest it's a whole nother ballgame of what rest really really means so i pray that as you guys go through and we all go through this these surges and this all all this uncertainty and craziness just know that god is still a provider he still sees us we are still his children and just like parents take care of kids god is taking care of us in ways like we really can't support ourselves when i say like kids as if we were three or four years old type god really does look out for us in a way that we cannot look out for ourselves so i encourage you all to rest believe that god has you in his hands and that he will take care of everything and that everything's going to be okay i pray over you all health healing wellness and and mental peace literal peace um and i pray that you all will continue being blessings to others this is my testimony dear heavenly father in the season of thanksgiving we first want to give all the glory and all the honor and all the praise to you not just for what you've done for us father but because of who you are we thank you for the provisions that you've made for our businesses and for our families even when we could not see a solution to our problem even when we couldn't see a way out you've made a way and father we thank you for loving us the way a good parent loves their child we thank you for the promises that you've given us to strengthen us in difficult times you've promised father that you'll never leave us nor forsake us you promised that our bread and water would be sure you've even promised father that we would be lenders and not borrowers so father we lay claim to the promises from the one who has loved us enough to die for us we choose to accept the report of the lord even if we can't see our deliverance even if what we see looks grim or impossible we know that you specialize in impossible situations you are the one father who gave us the businesses in the first place you gave us the business not to abandon us so it's your choice father you can expand the business you can you can save the business you can give us a new or better business which brings more glory and more honor to your name whatever our situation is father we turn it over to you we lay it at your feet do what you will father it's all about your will bring back to our remembrance how you delivered us in the past we've been through difficult situations before and you've delivered us we've been in impossible situations we've thought that our businesses went in i've thought that my circumstances were too dire to overcome but the same god that delivered me then is still able to deliver me now the same god that provided for me then is still able to provide for me now so father we thank you for delivering us when you when even when we lack the faith to go to you first and lastly father we look forward to the day that soon coming day when the ward impossible no longer exists we won't even remember the things that currently destroy our peace pain worry stress and anxiety will be a thing of the past but until then help us father to keep our eyes stayed on you help us to choose victory over defeat eternal happiness over regret help us father to choose life over death all these things we ask in jesus name amen happy sabbath and a happy thanksgiving to group to minister two selections this week because we wanted you to feel encouraged most of you are familiar with jj's repertoire and he has won several awards but more than that his heart of service hey and that's why we praise you that's why we bless you that's why we give you the glory that's why we give you the order because you lost your mind yes lord [Music] [Applause] yes lord your mother we give you all of the glory lord now if you know he's mighty can you open your mouth and give him a praise right where you are hallelujah god you're mighty you're worthy hallelujah 2020 began with the bang but soon became a year of uncertainty and disappointment and my new year's resolutions went down the drain with you know my hopes and dreams for myself for my family for my career and one day turned into a week a week turned into a month and then it was like there was no light at the end of the tunnel and it was difficult we didn't know what was going to happen we had lots of plans about what we wanted to do but you know we what we didn't realize was that god was with us all the time god was right there with us in the fire he was delivering us in the storm and you know as we talked and planned and discussed about what we wanted for the year what we didn't realize is that he was drawing us closer to one another and making us a strong team he was allowing us to begin to work together as one he was allowing us to find unity and enjoy being business partners yeah in addition to starting a business with rihanna together uh the pandemic allowed us to start to dream dreams that we either had deferred or forgot that we even had previously thought about and one of the dreams that we had was to create an uh nonprofit organization which we did uh during the pandemic for focus on edifying and uplifting children not only children in maryland but ultimately to be a benefit and to impact kids around the world so that was a tremendous blessing for us copen19 not only caused health challenges it also created financial strain and burdens but in the midst of financial challenges there have been blessings and the recipient of one of those blessings was one of our very own college students um hey everybody my name is christian budd i'm a recent graduate oakland university i do attend emmanuel brinkle seminar venice church and for my testimony um it's kind of uh it's a pretty interesting one it starts back in 2015 when i graduated tacoma academy i went to oakwood and it was pretty interesting experience i would say my testimony starts where my parents said that they would pay for me to go to um college you know i was fortunate enough that they would do that for me i did you know i did my best throughout my undergraduate career but then come my junior year i changed my my chain my major and with me doing that it added extra years um i wasn't complaining because you have to learn responsibility at some point so i i did my best and uh i did i got some scholarships and stuff like that but this past year my graduating year god made everything possible for the four years but my last year um i didn't know what was going to happen i don't know where the money was going to come from um but because of covid i received a free semester from all the scholarships that happened due to the covet pandemic so um my last semester was paid for also because of it um they they lowered the um the gpa requirements i mean i say gpa it was the the uh the grading score so because of that i was able to bring my gpa higher than what you know what i wanted to so it was it turned out for the best so i got i passed with all my classes i did really well i graduated and i i finished my last semester with no um no extra charge so because of the kova scholarship i was able to graduate without anything else so for me that was i don't know what to say but except thank you jesus because that's the greatest thing i can think of um but it's all in god's hands and that's it let us pray unlike any other season of their lives and time our young people need us to be faithfully lifting them up in prayer with so many obstacles competing for their attention trials and tribulations synchronous and asynchronous activities navigating the pressure to be perfect on social media to dating and dealing with frenemies we need to pray that our young people will be drawn to the lord they are deciding what to study where to go to college where to live whom to marry what career to pursue and who they will become lord guide their feet as they move through life protecting them from the pitfall of darkness while they help to lead future generations into the warmth and promise of your light father please surround our educators as they face on certain days without students in classrooms as they worry for the most vulnerable of their students may you assure our teachers that the love they have shared with their children and youth are being felt in the heart of those students in this time of social distance father here are cries for our children dear god especially during this dangerous pandemic they're calling from our for our local colleges and universities wau howard university andrews and oakwood are home school students lower middle and high schoolers g peters howard county montgomery county appleton baltimore county ta prep mount haven academy spencerville tacoma academy beautiful girls young warriors sabbath school youth ministry lord protect them entirely and fight their battles during this dangerous threat we yet know how to fully stop protect them from the violence that surrounds the father open the red sea to their safety and future in this time of unprecedented threat father give them strength to hold their faith in you and to keep alive their joy in your words through the power of the holy spirit may they come to know and experience your loving grace i make this prayer through he who is the promised keeper in the light in the darkness jesus christ our lord and savior [Music] [Music] to amen to and just hold on and i'll find you i'll find you i'll find you just hold on and i'll find you i'll find you i'll for nearly a decade awakening praise has been a tradition for the thanksgiving season here at emmanuel brinklow over the years we've heard dynamic powerful and moving testimonies so this year we decided to take some time to follow up on a few of those [Music] testimonies [Music] my name is lillian lodenko [Music] i suffer from genetic kidney disorder [Music] called gitlin syndrome [Music] with only 36 people including myself in the world who has been diagnosed with this disease my condition fluctuates over time and i have to be hospitalized [Music] very often my potassium levels drop below the average range nearly every week though i have had five near dead experiences where i coded and had to be brought back to life on one occasion when i coded i was told i was left for dead but one doctor turned around and said dr meeks from suburban hospital she's a fighter let's try again and with that i was revived god's divine [Music] power the lord is my light and my salvation whom shall i fear the lord is the strong old of my life of whom shall i be afraid i give god thanks and for this opportunity to share my follow-up testimony [Music] with the brinkle family from my testimony from last thanksgiving i give god thanks that although we've been going through some trying times for 2020 that he is still giving me the strength to continue to live day to day and to protect me from all arms and danger the beginning of this year was also a trying time for me um started out um i was doing fine and in february of this year after traveling to different country different states i end up getting hill again one of my normal episodes and although they couldn't figure out what triggered the illness i give god thanks that i was able to walk out of the hospital again one more time without any serious um damage or anything you know of the sort i want to thank um my brinkle family for always rallying around me i want to personally thank pastor edmunds who as soon as he heard that i was sick and in the hospital he dropped everything on that sabbath morning and rushed to my bedside to have church with me i also want to personally thank yolanda and all the people who rushed to the hospital vanessa everyone who came to make sure maxine audrey who made who made sure to they came to make sure i was okay and to take charge although i couldn't speak for myself to speak up on my behalf and i want to personally say thanks to you guys the pastors and elder hill um sister passmore who came who actually called and checked on me everyone who put their fourth effort to reach out um to me uh tammy renika yvette debbie uh um jamesa i wanna personally thank you guys pauline and if i can't remember everyone by name i just want to say thank you from a dollar mark my heart for always being there for me through the entire cove time i have since then i have stayed healthy i try my best not to really be around too much folks or go outside too much because of my situation the doctors advise that i stay inside and stay away from folks but i still love and i worship god every day watch the services from this our church and all the churches that i could watch different search services just so i could keep um strong and stay strong in the lord for those who are struggling and going through rough times i want to let you know just keep holding on to god on change in hand because he will never leave you nor forsake you he's the same yesterday today and forever and he will always be there with you on days when it's difficult for me to be mobile or when i'm just not functioning well i can turn in god's word for encouragement care comfort and today i just want to thank god for all that he has done in my life the testimonies we've heard haven't always come through spoken word sometimes they were impromptu and sometimes they came in the form of a song [Music] from this section over here one more test one oh one okay now we're watching you now everyone praise the lord praise the lord thank you thank you since the coronavirus pandemic hit the united states 12 million people contracted the disease of those 12 million seven million recovered we're about to hear the story from one member who was able to find blessing during her recovery i am so thankful to god for this opportunity and privilege to share my story of survival my story in this current time of the pandemic is not unique as there are millions of people around the world and in the united states who have contracted the virus and the numbers in fact speak to the rise in people who have the virus as well as those unfortunately who have lost their lives from this what is unprecedented about my covet story is without a doubt god's hand was in my journey the second thing is there is more awareness in treatment options when i got the covet in april it was still unfamiliar the actual covert disease including treatment was not really known patients were either being intubated or told that the disease would run its course which was what i was told i was not given the option of steroids um plasma rem desevere or any other therapy and i was not started on any antibiotics until day five because my fever of 103 104 would not relent i could not maintain my oxygen saturations and by this time my lungs had whited i had the covered pneumonia so day five was when i was started on the antibiotics also at that time with not much being known about covid i did not fit into the said criteria i'm not in the elderly category per se not on any medications i am a vegetarian overall in good health no underlying health conditions of course we know differently now that people of all ages everyone is at risk for getting covered 19 if they're exposed to the virus at that time in particular we were worried about my husband who being an african-american as well as having an underlying health condition with reports of african-americans being more at risk were concerning so all focus in our household was on making sure he was safe i woke up on sabbath morning april 25th after 10 am feeling awful and this was unusual for me because by this time i would have had my breakfast and um i would be preparing to join the prayer line at 10 30 but i was still in bed i had chills fever i could not taste any food i was nauseated um with diarrhea severe headache nonstop cough weakness body aches i was short of breath feeling air hungry i had all the classic covet symptoms i did not want to create any panic in my house so i silently asked myself you know is this really happening to me i mustered enough strength to listen to the 11 30 service restless the entire time by the afternoon i told my husband that i suspected i had the kovid and the look of fear was evident in his face i drove myself to the cdu that evening because um i was scared and i said let me go and get tested i was discharged a couple hours later and was told the cause of my illness was likely due to a urinary tract infection they did do a covet test and i was told that i could go home and wait on the results however i was still running a high fever i got in my car feverish chills air hungry and at that time i debated if i should even drive home or sleep in my car i decided to drive home at three in the morning and the hallucinations started the hallucination worsened as i kept driving i actually saw a silhouette in the front seat of my car and heard the voice of my deceased mother she was saying to me the voice was saying to me drive your car into the tree so we can be together after hearing this several times my mind was cloudy i knew what was happening to me was not good i rolled my window down turned on my playlist and listened to bill gaithers because he lives it was on a repeat mode all the way home a lot happened from the time i pulled into my driveway until i got to the hospital two days later i self-isolated from my family and my condition kept getting worse add to that the spirit of anxiety and fear had set in i was determined to fight this virus at home i did not want to go to the hospital as i knew the hospitals were filled with covet patients i received my test result via text and email and it said you are sars coven 19 negative i was shocked and confused my worsening symptoms and test results did not add up by tuesday morning i knew my condition had become critical when i could only breathe sitting upright which was all night sitting upright when my husband came downstairs and asked me if i had lipstick on because by that time my lips were a perfect shade of black i looked at my fingers and i knew i was knocking at death's door my husband hesitated about me not wanting him to call 9-1-1 but at that moment there was no time for couple discussion knowing how critical i had become i also knew the ambulance would take me to the nearest hospital and not to the hospital of my choosing as i got in the back seat of my husband's car i slumped over and apparently became unconscious my husband later told me he drove breaking all the traffic rules and speed limit but he said as he turned to get on the beltway an ambulance with lights and sirens appeared out of nowhere as if it were leading him and he followed it right to the emergency room my oxygen saturations which i was told later on were in the low 70s they swabbed me for covid when i woke up i had oxygen flowing lines on both arms the er physician came shortly after that and said i shook my head no um the entire time when he said he was going to intubate me he said i was covered positive and i was now a statistic you know growing up i used to hear believers in the adventist circle including my own mother who always said trust god no matter what pray and believe believe in the power of prayer because prayer changes things pray not just for for oneself but pray for others intercede on their behalf because god hears prayer and it is a direct link to him while i had so many in the church the pastors family and friends praying for me and i firmly believe god heard every one of those prayers i i want to share a few profound prayer experiences that i heard in my moment of desperation the first intercessory prayer was by dwayne pastor esmen and kemba where we facetimed them and how dwayne prayed for me and this was before i went to the hospital he interceded on my behalf at that time my condition continued to worsen but god wasn't done with the days being so weary the long night's dreary he gave me the strength to hold on the next profound intercessory prayer was about two days or so into my hospital stay i was on 10 liters of vapor therm the oxygen level kept dropping my labs were wacky that evening the doctors nurses were in and out of my room i remember telling the physician who had brought his his face his ear specifically close to my face to hear what um i was saying i was only able to whisper in between trying to catch my breath um i told him that i didn't want to live anymore and that you know animals were eating uh my brain and that my heart felt like it was beating outside my body the pain was so intense that my vital signs and blood pressure were just off i remember hearing that my blood pressure was running in the 230s over 110. i knew the physician personally as he continued to lean over you know he told me that he would not let me die not in his watch and that i was going to fight this because i kept asking him that i kept telling him that i wanted to die i don't know what happened i i'm not really certain what exactly happened because everyone stepped out of my room but it so happened that the nurse left my phone next to my head and i don't know where i got the strength but i reached for it and again i don't know how i did it but i made the calls it was as if the holy spirit directed my moves the first was to my husband and it so happened that my husband and two kids were together discussing that there was a possibility i would not be coming home alive and i didn't know this at that time i remember through tears telling them i loved them and doing my best to whisper what i wanted them to know and i believed at that time it was our final goodbye i happen to look at the time on the screen and again i don't know how i did it but i dialed into the brinkflow prayer line and i think i shocked everyone because they couldn't quite get what i was saying and i couldn't really say much except covet and i think they were trying to ask me my name the prayer was said and i hung up in my despair i pleaded with god and i thought who will intercede for me the body suffering wanted to die but during that brief moment of lucidness i didn't want to die and wouldn't you know out of all the phone contacts in that moment of utter desperation a name popped up on my phone i clicked on that name and when the person answered it i said glenda it was glenda roberts there was a couple second pause and then i heard jacquinet jacquinet is that you and i said yes without hesitation she said call it and again i whispered yes there was a brief pause and then i will never forget the next line father oh father i am prostrate interceding on behalf of my sister jacquelinette and then i don't know after that what else was said in the prayer i blanked out when i came around i saw staff in my room and i could hear glenda still praying the staff learned of my christian faith from hearing glenda's prayer and then later for my husband i believe glenda's prayer that evening reached the throne of god and in his mercy spared me the next profound prayer experience was the first sabbath in the hospital i opened my eyes and these two ladies in full ppe walked in the nurse and the nursing assistant they said they knew it was my sabbath they learned of my sabbath from my husband my temperature was 103.9 my oxygen saturations were fluctuating my d dimer was out of the normal range labs were off kidneys were shutting down there was concern for pulmonary embolus blood clots the morphine drip helped with the pain my tears would not stop rolling i couldn't talk they took my vital signs and stood at my bedside and told me they were baptists and they worshiped with me they sang and sang and this one song they sang is now one of my favorites none can quite sing it like the baptist the lord is my light and my salvation whom shall i fear whom shall i fear the lord is the strength of my life whom shall i fear wait on the lord and be of good courage he shall strengthen thy heart whom shall i fear whom shall i fear the lord is the strength of my life whom shall i fear they prayed and interceded on my behalf and i believed the father heard and answered the prayer and i was spared death again that sabbath the final intercessory prayer that i heard was on my birthday by this time i was pretty much lifeless and almost certain i was going to die the nurse brought me a bouquet of flowers and told me my husband was downstairs in the lobby i nodded my head the tears flowed again i couldn't really move in bed again there was a slew of activity in my room because they had just called a rapid response on me that afternoon while they were working on me just like that the room emptied out again and shortly thereafter a respiratory therapist showed up and she said i'm here to draw your blood gas she wished me a happy birthday and said i'm going to sing for you as she stuck the needle in my artery she said when i was outside your room they were discussing your labs she said that my potassium was very low and she went on to tell me what else they were discussing which i can't remember but there was a banana on the overbed table and she said i'm going to feed you the banana to bring your potassium up i looked at her as i had not eaten in almost two weeks i was nauseated as she sat at my bedside peeled the banana and slowly fed me she asked me what i wanted to hear her saying i asked her if she knew richard smallwood's lord i will lift my eyes to the hills knowing my help is coming from you total praise and she sang for me it was the most beautiful voice i have ever heard she told me she was a seventh-day adventist after she sang the prayer she prayed i'm sure made the angels weep and god in his graciousness spared me death again the road to recovery has had its waves of challenges but looking back i'm very grateful for the experience albeit as distressing as it was i give god glory honor praise and thanks for allowing me to enter this phase in my life and that he saw fit to save me by his grace he's given me the extra time on this earth with my husband and children and people i love i am more blessed today than i deserve the experience made me realize despite what is going on in this world there is still so much good the kindness compassion caring giving of the nurses doctors who went above and beyond to care for me friends near and far colleagues of both my husband and mine friends from other denominations who also prayed for me the prayers support from so many members here at brinklow the women's ministry team the pastoral team franco friends and members who were there for my family and me i thank you i thank god for allowing me to be surrounded by such wonderful people i thank him for another chance in life and i ask him to mold me to be more christ-like there are many things about tomorrow i don't seem to understand but despite it all i know who holds tomorrow and i know who holds my hand first peter 5 10 says and after you have suffered a little while the god of all grace who has called you to his his eternal glory in christ will himself restore confirm strengthen and establish you i praise and thank god for my healing and i'll end with this bobby kennedy at brinklow had taught us a song one sabbath service and that song sums it up for me you've done so much for me i cannot tell it all nare kale mo if i had a thousand tongues it still won't be enough nare kalimo when you heal you heal completely nare kalimo what shall i render to jehovah for he has done so very much for me nara our father in heaven today we come with you we come to you with hearts of thanksgiving you have brought many of us through some difficult times this year [Music] many of the people in our congregation have suffered from illnesses diseases and new diagnoses and we've called upon your name throughout this year and you have healed and you have seen us through and for that we say thank you lord with that we are thankful for each testimony that we've heard today and throughout this year of people who struggled through serious illnesses and were actually on their death beds and you brought them through and we just want to say thank you lord today we come also asking for your hand to move upon those who are still asking for healing there are people in our congregation and in our extended families who are struggling right now with diseases and illnesses and sicknesses and new diagnoses some are not just physical lord emotional illness and mental illness and we ask lord that you will reach your hand down low here to this earth and touch and heal each person that needs your healing hand we also ask lord that you continue to be with our congregation lord we are hurting and we are struggling and we ask that you will help us to pull together as a congregation and support one another and continue to pray for one another so that together as we come into the new year of 2021 we will come in victorious lord as a church family that we will look back and say that we pulled each other together with your help we also asked lord that you will heal those who are still healing from the loss of loved ones from this year we ask that you will comfort and touch each person that is hurting and dealing with loss as we come into the new year i pray that you will help us to remember each person who has suffered loss and that we will continue to reach out and touch and help and support those who need encouragement and uplifting we are thankful for the power of prayer we have seen the power of prayer all this year and we thank you so much for the power of your holy spirit and we're thankful for the ways that you show us that your holy spirit is still active and working in our lives strengthen our prayer lives lord and i pray that you will take this prayer and answer each need according to your will in jesus name we pray amen the spirit of the living god follow fresh on us we come before you god almighty first with praise on our lips for those you have healed appealed jacquinet dr crairy and so many others you save them from death and let them continue on in life to praise your name even today lord there's a child with an inoperable brain tumor there's a body struggling with lung cancer there's a body struggling with breast cancer there's disability there's mental and emotional struggle lord all this among your people we've seen these things before lord and we thank you for the comfort you've given us for those that you didn't heal and lay to rest we know you as the comforter in exodus you reminded us that you are the god that healeth us and so we call on your name and ask for your healing send your healing power down like fire on mount carmel [Music] consume the cancer consume the ailments the suffering among your people will we not praise you would we not sing praise to your name and magnify your name will we not turn back to say thank you would your name not be lifted up in all the earth are our hearts too hard in that we would not give you praise we ask that you were creating us clean hearts and renew right spirits within us and try us once again try us with health with strength and let us praise your name in this time of suffering where the world is seeking answers for the world many don't know you as the healer but let us preach your name and sing your name in all the earth what you've done for us today and so we thank you and when the day comes where we are finally laid to rest we ask that our souls will be right before you that we would have surrendered all and see your face in peace when you come again we thank you so much for hearing and for answering our prayer remind us lord that you are the god that heals in jesus name we pray in the mighty name of jesus we pray amen he deserves our worship if you know he deserves the glory can you lift your hands and open your mouth to begin to bless the lord we celebrate thanksgiving this morning and we have a reason to be thankful because he's given us everything we need if you know that to be true can you open your mouth and bless the lord my hallelujah belongs to you glory to your name father my hallelujah belongs to you god will bless you my hallelujah belongs to you god we give you glory my hallelujah belongs to you come on lift your voice you deserve it [Music] wherever you are say my [Music] i will bless the lord at all times my hallelujah [Music] so wherever you are lift your voice you deserve it i say all of the glory if he's ever all the glory come on we're making a way to deserve hallelujah [Music] [Music] you deserve our worship [Applause] you deserve [Music] hallelujah and all the honor and all the praise you deserve it is [Music] my hallelujah belongs to you can you lift your voice in worship say my hallelujah oh yeah god we bless your name now come on and bless the lord if you know he's worthy if you know he's worthy of all the glory can you lift your voice and bless him wherever you are you deserve it yeah yes lord you deserve it yeah yeah hallelujah [Music] [Music] hallelujah [Music] hallelujah come on worship the lord so remember i mentioned we're going to follow up with three stories well right now we're about to follow up with one testimony that was given in 2017. in 2010 my youngest son garrett was diagnosed with bipolar disorder the following two years were tumultuous to say the least with a lot of manic and erratic behavior that ultimately came to a culmination on a day that will live in my family's history in infamy october 15 2012. i received a phone call that no parent would ever want to receive [Music] as cece lester was heading to to work she called and said darla where are you garrett is on the ground in front of ta and there are police all around and they've got guns pointed at him as the story unfolded i was to learn later that my son had committed unthinkable crimes in not just one but three counties i couldn't cry for two weeks i was numb with disbelief he was sentenced in pg for three years served 18 months of that after which anne arundel and moe county decided they would then submit their warrants but they would not give him a global plea if they had done that it would have all been served concurrent they wouldn't do that so consequently by the time he got to september of 2014 after a month on my part of fasting and praying and circle-making prayers i read batterson's book i was believing that god would do a miracle for my son my son was sentenced to 18 years all of which he had to do except for six it wasn't evident then but i now recognize that it was an opportunity for me to give thanks in advance and that even though the situation was not complete i could thank god in that moment because ultimately he was saving my son how could i so how did i survive this ordeal well prayer lots of it and praise so thankful for one prayer that i prayed continuously and that is that he would allow my parents to live long enough to see their grandchild freed from prison [Applause] god answered that prayer and he answered it on september 25th my mother's 92nd birthday when he released my uh the judge recognized that my son didn't need more prison he needed some help and he was released from prison to the jude house where he was to receive much needed rehabilitation so this thanksgiving i was so thankful that although he wasn't in my house he was free i could thank god in advance for what he had done oh my goodness uh there's so much to tell and god has truly been true to his word uh when he says that he would restore the years that the locust had eaten um but i had no idea just how true that would be and how he would bring that to fruition as i had described in the previous testimony of course garrett was due to come home he had not yet come home i believe it was november the year prior he actually came home uh in january of 2018 and um uh i he was like the prodigal son and i i killed the fat at calf uh in bringing him home and had a great big party which was wonderful wonderful reunion of friends and and those who have been supportive of me throughout the entire five-year ordeal um i'll let garrett tell you kind of what happened from them because it's just been a whirlwind and all of which is is really good and just god has been so so incredibly amazing uh throughout this entire um entire experience since since 2017 um at the least of which i remember in the testimony i mentioned how one of our prayers was that you know my parents would be alive to see him come home and of course they were and they were able to participate in the celebration that we had when he returned home well as my mother said uh it's really been just an amazing journey um 21 days actually exactly i did the math um i was back in school at bowie state university uh and long story short i actually graduate in less than 30 days less than 30 days i will have my bachelor's degree in accounting and as she said everything about randall leonard and all that he did to uh to watch over me and to just help me out and there was one thing in particular he said he said you know what he said my job is not done until i get you a job with the government and so uh his son having worked with the government you know kept sending me job applications from the agency that he works for um and i just kept filling him out filling him out praying it was about a year before i finally got an opportunity and uh proud to say that i actually work for the federal government now something that i never thought would be possible um with my situation but god saw fit to work that out um get out not just work it out sheldon what has been amazing about this was he got the job one month before kovac had that talk about god's timing yeah one month and so they've allowed me to telework this entire time so i've been i haven't missed a beat haven't missed a paycheck um but prior to that the same year that i came home in november of that year and here's what was very significant about that uh i got i actually ended up getting married i got married on um it was november no yes it what november october october it was october 4th lord don't let me forget that help me jesus it was october 4th or november 4th is your birthday that's why i kept thinking november 4th but october 4th and what's very significant about that is that was the same day they let me out of prison to go to the program that allowed me to come home in january but that was the same day i was officially let out of prison so that was a very significant that me and my wife were to get married on that day skip forward now uh two years um i actually have two children now so my oldest uh is he's getting ready to be two in march his name is manassa jeffrey alexander adams and you know significant even in their naming because the if you've read the story of joseph which is very like to my story by liking them to my story he named his first son manasseh he said for the lord has made me to forget all of my hardship and so i thought that was very uh befitting for the situation um and he truly is the joy of my life and so you know he really has caused me to forget my hardship um recently two months ago my wife and i just had our second son and his name is nehemiah dwight robert adams um another significant name dwight robert is actually my wife's uh late father so it was a tribute honor to him to be able to uh name our second son after him um and so yeah that's that you know god has just been working as i said i graduate next month so i'm you know getting the senioritis with just pushing my way through i'm gonna continue working in my government job i'm gonna be up for a promotion as soon as i get my my degree um yeah i'll be able to go to the next gs level so god has just really been has just really been working god has been making a way to keep myself together while i say this is that you know i had always prayed that my uh that my grandmother and my grandfather would be alive to see me uh get out of prison because giving um with my original sentence i didn't believe there was any way possible that uh they would still be breathing to see me come home but uh but god uh god saw saw it fit that they would see me come home um and even better than that my grandmother as we all know passed away uh last year um and it was literally about a week after she was able to hold my oldest child so after my oldest son was born she held him and it was about a week later that she passed away so uh the first place and i've told my family this the first place that i will go as soon as our virtual graduation is over uh the first place i will go is to my grandmother's grave site and i will let her know that i kept my promise um because it was in the courtroom when i was being sentenced while she sat there in tears that i promised her that i would finish school and that i would make something of myself and so the first place i would go after my graduation is to her gravesite and let her know that i kept my promise that's it for today thank you so much for tuning in we hope you anybody want to say thank you lord give god a thank you lord today thank you lord my my my what a profound and awesome celebration of thanksgiving and praise today look y'all come on over and join us were touched they were moved yes you know fighting tears full of gratitude and thanksgiving for all of god's goodness and we're talking about you know real testimonies that's great the lived experience what god is doing in the right now right now let me say that right now or for his people thank you for joining us the numbers are going up as we uh go to our lobby uh there's something special we want to do in our lobby session that's going to involve all of you who have joined us uh we want to do as is our custom for our thanksgiving worship experience you all know how we concluded we we concluded with our rapid fire testimonies yes the rapid-fire testimonies and we're going to take a few moments today to do that with you so while you are coming in you are thinking through your rapid fire testimony there will be a countdown clock a 30-second countdown clock and right you know we have the ability also to mute you so we want you to be mindful of that 30-second rapid-fire testimony yeah the intent is the intent is to from our experience to ensure that volumes of praises are sending heavenward together that's why we do the rapid fire that's why we're here today uh it's not about control we're going to send we're going to have rapid fire praises and testimonies making their way to the throne room of god so we got to keep them moving that's what this is about today and we are always blessed because of it so so you're still coming now here's what i'm going to ask us to do because you know we want to get this in we want to praise god we just came out of a profound i want you blessed by by today's testimonies won't you just touched and all by what god is doing and and praise god for the diverse group of people who had such profound testimonies today so here's how we're going to start this in just a moment because you know we do have some cyber school left and we have a guest presenter uh you know dr lisa bearsley is is going to be with us there today uh beardsley harding from the general conference education department she will be taking us to sabbath school after we complete this praise time this rapid-fire testimony time and you only have 30 seconds so we're going to model it for you our preaching team is going to model 30 seconds so that's that's doc brown that's the doc prairie pastor esmen that's claudia allen and if we ever can find pastor williams he's here he's on oh he's here okay so they're already thinking they're gonna model what a 30-second testimony uh looks like okay they're gonna be setting the tone for us and we're gonna do that and we want you to come off mute and if you can come off your you know put yourself on put your face on also come off mute come off the camera and just tell us in 30 seconds how god has blessed you thus far in this year is that all right have i done enough talking okay so so we want to get that started now you see the clock uh the countdown that has taken place and so we're going to move uh i want to start with doc brown we're gonna let doc brown uh he will pass the baton on after doc brown does his rapid fire testimony and we're going through our whole team and then i'm gonna come back and open it up to all of you doc brown uh the countdown starts with you i thank god thank you i thank god for the family of god being a part of brinkley evidence by the wonderful pastor's appreciation i thank god for bringing our daughter through the early phases as jacqueline said of the kovid over there in bermuda that god through prayer have brought her through and i thank god for my son jamal and his daughter i forgive his his wife for sarah and daughter charlotte that they are living at our house so that we could have thanksgiving dinner and plenty of it amen the food took you over it was the food that carried you over but you did all right doc brown like brown who's going to be next who who are you going to hand it to next doc brown i want to hand it to pastor esmen because he's raring to go back the clock start the clock all right here we go um i just want to thank god so much for his goodness and his mercies towards us i thank him for family and for loved ones i thank him for my mother who is at home at home recovering now out of the hospital amen that is a miracle in and of itself and of course i thank god for emmanuel brinklo family and all the love they've showered on us i want to sing like richard smallwood his mercy endureth sing ever amen well done pastor brown who you said esme who who you sending it to next well i got to send it to my sister who was in south africa i mean he was preaching in south africa today i want to send it to my sister man yo thank you so much pastor esmen i just want to say i am so grateful to god for um employment i want to say i'm thankful to god for healing my brother from kobe back in march for keeping my grandmother my mother safe uh i'm thankful to god for the opportunity to minister and to preach and to serve and i just absolutely love all of you here at brinkleo so it is truly been a pleasure to be in covid with all of you i'm going to pass the baton to the one and only dr crairy yeah oh well um let me start my testimony by saying thank you god this year i've gotten a new job that's much more lucrative right before colvin uh i my family has been protected by him and and cared for by him i've got the disease and god has blessed me to come through and my family my prayer family my briclo family thank you i love you all and appreciate you all amen amen okay that was excellent we've been doing well with 30 seconds let's see if pastor williams can um stay the course now so the pressure is on now and kathleen come on now we're watching you you set the tone here all right all right pastor you're taking my time here we go here we go kathleen and i are so grateful today and uh we just give god the praise that her father who was diagnosed with cancer this year of the stomach is not only doing well but his cancer has shrunk we just give god the praise today for that wonderful testimony and we praise god for our brink low family baby yes our brinkley family we love you all god bless you for your prayers amen amen praise god well well folk you see how it's done you see you have 30 seconds you got to get it all in uh you can't say this look i got something to say i know i'm out of town time but i got to keep saying it now we're not buying that not in this segment here everybody has the same amount of time and we want you to honor that time if you can't praise god in 30 seconds maybe you won't know god yet okay he can hear you in 30 seconds he already know what's there and we want to hear those testimonies and praises to our lord i i didn't go yet i didn't give my chance yet but i also want to say count me down count me down i want to say thank you to jesus for my family i want to say thank you to jesus for the church family i want to say thank you jesus for the phenomenal pastor appreciation you all give i want to say thank you to jesus to those who surround us and love us and support us especially when craziness is going on i praise god for you and i thank you for our church family you have been such a phenomenal group and i love you we love you we praise you hallelujah thank you jesus i did it in 30 seconds okay who's going to be next i need somebody praise god go ahead go ahead thanking god for increasing my income i thought it was just for me but the the the needs around me demonstrated why god increased my income double this year you're ready she didn't need 30 seconds she's good man look look we're still basking in the devil and god does the blessings okay he opens the windows of heaven and pour out blessed yeah you see we're going to finish your testimony get it okay who's next 30 seconds come on now come on i want to thank god for life from my health for my family for his love i thank him that my mother was at death's door and they asked me to let her die and i told him that was not an option and today she's still breathing she's still alive she is still needing your prayers i thank the church for praying for her continue to keep praying in prayer continue to be with me and my children and my grandchildren all of us will be saving god's kingdom i thank him for his love amen amen if if elder janet moore can do it i know y'all can do it come on come on all right i want to thank god this morning for my family i want to thank you for my children i want to thank you for my help i want to thank him for being a that's what that's what it is thank you okay who will be next all right 30 seconds i just want to say thank you to each one of you for your prayers i know six years ago i wouldn't have been able to talk like oh mercy praise god amen amen david hallelujah all right we're going to start off with 30 seconds this is your time who's next lois just looks like you're ready to go yes i am i just can't thank god enough for for what he does the health of of my husband and me and and um that so many different pieces um that could have gone awry and god has chosen to give us a way to to feel better and to and our weight loss and and how the covert has blessed us even with the business when we have lost half of the business and the lord still lets whatever funds the beer um take care of us and god's been good and we love him thanks my church family look look look i like this now i like this when those you think hello are going to stretch the 30 seconds they're they're there all right who's next come on we got to hear from somebody well i want to praise god for life and health i really appreciate the fact that he's brought me through 2020 thus far i just god has just been so good he allowed me to sell the house this year and i'm grateful for that i thank him for my family i was able to spend thanksgiving holiday with two of my sisters and my niece and her family and it was just so meaningful this time this year and i praise god for all of my brinkleo family thank you for your prayers for me and my family as well what is that amen we got time for you guys [Music] we got you got your voice okay i want to thank god so much for what he has done especially for mike jamaica on our way home from andrews on wednesday in ohio our car broke down with friends and god miraculously he provided another friend who father went to pick him up with a tow truck because he didn't want to drive in the snow so there was a tow truck to check jamaica's car home and to take her and her friends home jesus i'm just grateful to god praise god for that thank you jesus thank you jesus all right who's next who's next yes but i have to say i'm grateful to god some of you know the whole story about this year has been the most trying and yet the most profitable in all of my history uh my family has been able to benefit greatly god did things right when god boosts your credit score by 60 points to get you into a place that you don't deserve but that is perfect for you you know it's only god so praise going honor to him for my family amen amen amen this is cynthia mcneil and i'm thanking the lord for allowing me to pay over three thousand five hundred dollars in 2019 taxes he just blessed in unmentionable ways and i'm grateful for it also for keeping all my jobs doing covet amen amen all right praise god praise god that's time come on somebody's getting them in let's move on um this is the morenci family i'm thankful that god has been with our family he's allowed both of my parents to remain employed um he's kept my grandma earlier this i think last week she was in the hospital but he allowed her to celebrate another year of life so i'm thankful for that today um i'm also thankful for my other grandma she's able to be here with us in massachusetts where she used to live she had no one there for her so i'm just thankful that god has been able to keep my family through this time and he's been able to to put us in a position to be blessed and blessed others amen amen amen amen everybody what a profound spirit that's on this zoom all the praises that are going up to god in the name of jesus the blessings come down when the praises go up man i sense those blessings are coming down upon god's people right now uh we've got a pause here we got to close this out then we got to transition to sabbath school that is uh something we got to do but thank you jesus for all his goodness what god is doing for each and every one of you uh it doesn't matter what's going through what's happening in your world if you will keep on praising god god will see you through we've heard that today we saw it in the testimonies uh what god is doing and he is a faithful god is he not gonna be with us and he's gonna guide us for the rest of this year may god bless you let us pray as we transition to our sabbath school right now father in heaven in the name of jesus we thank you so much for the praises that have ascended heavenward to thee we thank you for the power the potent power that came through our testimony and our praise service today we thank you for the music and for each and every participant uh we glorify you and we thank you lord that in spite of covet we're still praising you we thank you for the service today and and for this lobby experience and god we continue to lift up of those in prayer who still need recovery uh we think of trent budd's brother lord the loss of his brother we ask you to be with the bud family in a special way we think of lord as we mentioned earlier uh we asked you to be with dr rocketter smith who and his family as he is uh uh on on at death's door in his sick bed go with them and bless him and keep him we pray uh we we pray in a special way lord for mama grant uh that you will be close to her and be the bomb in gilead and be by her side and be with her daughter uh stephanie in a special way we we submit them and we submit every other case uh to your safe care your safe keeping god go before us and have your way we pray and thank you lord for blessing us thank you for being with us this sabbath day this thanksgiving day
