[Music] so welcome back to outdoors with the Morgans beautiful day today although it's a little hot it is probably pushing 90° so today is Father's day so happy Father's Day to all of you but you're not going to see this video until Thursday probably but today we got a couple things to go over in this video number one uh we're going to show you a new piece of equipment that we bought a yellow one and one of the main reasons we bought it was because of her right there so Melissa what don't you like about a zero turn mower they're very jerky just uh they also could be very fast which I love speed but when I don't feel like I'm in total control that's dangerous in fact I saw a video the other day where a guy was pulling something out of their Pond and he's kind of yelling and bothered and then the lettering came on that was like she just got too close and here the wife was mowing around the pond and he's pulling out this big zero turn right out of the pond I'm like they they do react very fast so so the downside of a zero turn is uh they react real quick and some people just don't like that the other thing is they're not not very good on side Hills at all right what happens is the front wheels are just kind of free floating so you're steering it with your drive wheels and if you're going across a side Hill and those front wheels kind of go down the hill sometimes you can be gone uh the first zero turn I ever ran was a bad boy that we bought and it was fast it really was on flat ground uh zero turn is hard to beat but the first time I ran that I was just getting after it and I was cutting grass down at my mom's place remember you had to come down with the ranger because I ended up in the trees it just took off so with that being said Melissa wants to do some more mowing around here she's not a fan of the Zero Turn Mower so we got I'll just show you so here it is my first ever Cub Cadet it is the pro z900 it's a 72in cut it's got the aaki fuel injected engine which I really like loads of power fuel tanks on both sides folding RS uh these armrests are adjustable as well there's a little thing in here you can rotate it Melissa and you can set it to the height that you like okay uh really really nice I had never I've seen these around for several years and I've heard good things about them power now turn the wheel so when she's turning that wheel like say she turns it this way it will slow the back tires down as well so it is basically four-wheel steering supposed to be really good on Hills we're going to find out here in a little bit we're going to go down to my mom's place so one thing I learned if you don't turn the wheels all the way it won't stop that inside wheel completely it'll keep moving some okay uh that's what happens sometimes with the regular Zer turn you turn real sharp it'll lock the back wheel up you'll tear up the sod but hop off every once Melissa we'll show them how this thing uh Works we're going to just lift this tray out of here maybe going to grab that there forward reverse like I said fuel injected so there's no choke couple holder I think I already mentioned folding [Music] RS switch your fuel tanks over here that pedal right there raise and lower your deck pretty nice we came over here into the shade it is it's a hot one isn't it it is it is the sun is brutally hot but that mower will do 14 M hour oh top speed now that steel battery mower that I was running uh it would do 16 which is just crazy fast yeah uh 14 is real fast as well you wouldn't mow at that speed but I I need to run it down to my mom's I was just down there running the string trimmer and all that stuff and uh we'll try it out on her lawn by the way I bought this at J&D Lawn and Tractor Sales uh Tyler the owner of J&D he lives just down the road real nice guy and just to be clear this is not a partnership or a sponsored video or anything like that I have tried numerous zero turns over the years and to be honest they were all pretty good they really were but I was looking for something with that steering wheel which is why I bought this I uh sold hold my xmark on Facebook Marketplace that's a whole experience right there selling stuff on Facebook Marketplace but if you can weed through all the nonsense there's normally somebody out there uh looking for what you have if you keep it in good shape and take care of it so yeah we sold the xmark bought our first Cub Cadet so I could probably make it down to my mom's on the trail with this but I think since it's brand new uh we're just going to run it down the road and we'll check out the top speed oh [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right so I just got back up to the house uh when I was mowing down at my mom's place I folded the RS partway down just because there's a lot of Limbs but this machine is by far I will just say it right now it handles the hills down at my mom's better than any mower that I have ever ran okay better than anything what happens sometimes like say you're coming up on a tree or a mulch bed and you're on the side Hill with every other zero turn that I ever used if you try to turn downhill to go around it doesn't work out you're going to slide down past it with this I can curl right around it no trouble at all the suspension on this uh it is not as comfortable as the steel I had which is made by Ferris it has the full-blown suspension on it but this does have an airride seat it wasn't bad at all uh it's it really holds on to the hills what I'd like to hear from are people that own these and run them let me know in the comments if I was in charge of CubCadet marketing which I am not I'm not affiliated with them at all I would not spend a penny on Advertising except for have about 100 200 people just run back and forth across the country and whenever they see someone mowing on a hill with a zero turn have one of these and say try this out for a little bit I'm telling you it really really holds the hills you can get these with dual rear wheels for even more stability I don't have a need for that uh but yeah so far I really really like it uh I would send I would ask I wouldn't send but I would ask Melissa to go cut my mom's grass on this Mower and I wouldn't worry about it I would not do that on a regular zero turn uh I get a p pucker Factor every time I was down there but I have run started off with a bad boy we had an x mark I tried out a Toro a Walker Walker was real nice uh the steel mowers we've tried out a bunch of Zero Turns we have and I've never had one with a steering wheel and uh I'm telling you if you got Hills try one out I'm just going to tell you right now like I said I'd like to hear from people that have them and I feel confident they're going to say the same thing but Tyler at J&D where I bought this he has a couple properties and he has two of these now they sell several different types of mowers and he has these and that told me something right there because it's hilly as well but so far pretty impressed [Music] [Music] ah [Music] a [Music] [Music] all right so it has been probably four or five hours since I talked to you it's getting close to dark now but uh like we said earlier it is Father's day and it was a great day it was we had some family over uh we cooked some steaks on the Brio everyone was just hanging out and then we went for rides on the uh side by side Levi had his up here and we had our Canam and everything was going great and I noticed something when we're out here on the trail let me show you the trail comes through here and then there's like this 90° turn right here and the reason it was like that for so long well it used to come through here at one point right at the top of the hill because we didn't used to own this over here and we bought that four or five 5 years ago from here down to the other road down to the brick house so the old trail stayed on our property and then after we bought that property for some reason I know the reason now we came down through here but this 90° turn right here I could have moved this log taken that tree out or maybe this Maple right here but you had to make a couple backups with the Can-Am it's pretty long the S kicks that we were using it was no trouble at all and that's why we left it like this all these years well when we were coming through here Melissa said you ought to move that trail and fix it because it's so tight getting through there so everybody just kind of rolled out there about 45 minutes ago and I thought there is no time like the present so I'll show you what I did here so you come up over the hill here to a nice straight shot Trail used to go over there then that 90° turn I just made a new one right here we'll call it the bypass and I think the reason I didn't do this before there was one big Oak Tree in here that had died and I had a real big stump right here there's a couple smaller ones but I got that dug out of there and it is a straight shot behind the excavator right out to the new Meadow pretty happy with it there's a few places it'll sink a little bit where I took the stumps out but I can fix that later but it is now plenty wide for the new buggy but anyway before we wrap this up I need to go over two things one's pretty important uh I ruffled some feathers the other day in a video I'll explain in a minute but back to the CubCadet mower so far I absolutely love it uh I have ran bad boy x Mark Toro Walker steel several other brands actually over the last five or six years and nothing none of them will hold on to the hill like that CubCadet and it makes sense with the four-wheel steer and all that stuff and you know hopefully it holds up I think it will I like the Kawasaki engines got a nice heavy deck on it I think it'll be a great mower for us and uh like I said if you have one let me know in the comments how you like it I would be shocked if somebody says they don't like theirs because they're just great so far other thing I want to talk about today Sunday Father's day you're going to see this video on Thursday but I published a video and I titled it something like rules for thee and not for me and then something about a driveway entrance and I was talking about DEA fluid and you know I'm not a big fan of that at all and I brought up the fact that the US military does not have to go by the same emission standards as civilians do a lot of people interpreted that that I thought the military should have to use it that that's not the case at all I never said that once sometimes people hear I think what they want to hear or something not what I actually said I didn't say that at all it would be a horrible idea for the military as it is a horrible idea for civilians as well my point was and it was overlooked by many I got emails I mean comments asking me you know would I want to be in a striker vehicle Under Fire and have to put de fluid in my truck no I would not want to do that uh I never said that at all so just to clear that up no I don't think the military should have to use de fluid and I also think neither should we I think it's uh I think it really hurts your mileage I think you've got a lot of plastic jugs and cardboard boxes that go into landfills and if you factor in all the additional fuel being used you know I don't know all the details but I don't think it's the right way to go at all I really don't engines like in my 67 Power Stroke you could probably get without all that stuff on it I bet you could get 32 35 m a gallon out of them today you know and I'm getting 23 at best on the highway right now which is really good and I think without all the emissions you would burn a whole lot less fuel which would mean a lot less being produced and trucked and less emissions all around my opinion my opinion only and uh but yeah boy I got emails I got a lot of military guys thought I said I never said that but anyway I think that's about it for today's video had a productive day great Father's day I hope you did as well and I will catch you on the next one
