and daughter demanding a refund the Second Story I was replaced when I was on vacation but there's still Justice in this world the third story an entitled woman reeks havoc in the store the first story is em and daughter want a refund on phone cast me is me m is manager Ed is entitled daughter em is entitled mother MH is my hero the story of my time working at Walmart this is when I first started out at Walmart back in 2014 in the electronics counter it was near night time and the photo center was closed it was only me at the stand While others were on break somewhere in the store or at lunch plus business was slow so it was fine when I was by myself but old boy was I wrong it was about 15 minutes that passed when a teenager the entitled daughter of our story came up to the counter and placed a cell phone in the Box on the counter while I was helping a father who will be my hero in this story and you'll see why later I asked the father if he'll be all right by himself while I helped another customer and he was fine with it browsing the children's movie section I was about to ask how can I help her but she just held her hand up at me I remembered this very well when she did that Ed I want to refund on this D phone it doesn't work with the plan I have I looked at the phone and it was the Walmart plan we run with T-Mobile it's usually not the greatest but it's a good start on a cell phone plan before switching to the bigger ones and when I looked at the receipt I already knew this was going to be a handful to those that don't know All Electronics items can be refunded but you have to return it within 15 days to get it especially when it's cell phones other items are usually 30 or 90 days depending the department and when I looked at the receipt it was way past the 15-day policy so I couldn't return it me I'm sorry ma'am but I can't refund this it's past the 15-day return policy oh boy did Ed not like that Ed what do you mean my mom and I were here a few days ago when we got the D thing me I'm sorry but I can't I'm looking at the receipt on the day you purchased this cell phone and it's way past our policy I'm sorry but there's nothing that I can do Ed lets out a growl and huff before storming away with the cell phone and receipt I sighed deeply and leaned into the counter MH then came with a few movies and saw the whole thing MH that's pretty rough to deal with that huh I just laughed at that and scanned his items me oh you have no idea sir and this is just my first month here we both had a good laugh and when I gave him his receipt I saw the Ed once again but this time with her entitled mother in toe I knew I was in trouble em you why wouldn't you give my daughter her money back we brought everything me I understand that ma'am but it's past our return policy even if I scan it the serial number wouldn't be in our system no more em then yelled at me to get the manager while calling me a few colorful names as well while I phoned for management the mother and daughter had a smug grin on their face like they've won soon a manager comes by and asked what was the problem em yes your employee was rude to us and won't refund my daughter's cell phone she paid for a few days ago I want my money now and this C fired seriously who does this over cell phones but then again Walmart Wall-E world is also crazy people world mem looks over at me and I tried to explain what was happening but em kept interrupting me while calling me names until M saw the receipt one look at the date and he knew what was up M okay ma'am two things one Do not cuss at my employee she's doing her job and two you bought this phone a month ago we can't refund you for the cell phone because the serial number is no longer on the system Ed and EM frowned at that and then starts to cuss at me and M for not helping them and not letting them have their money back MH was watching the whole thing and he stood between us and Them MH ma'am you need to calm down and you need to control your daughter as well Ed this is none of your business em and why should I do what you say about my my daughter they're the ones that won't help us em points at me and M and this was something that I still remember to this day MH pulled out his wallet and showed a police badge he was an off-duty cop MH I suggest either you two calm down right now or so help me I will escort you both out in cuffs this is no way to act out in public you need to set a better example for your daughter and you need to control that mouth of yours kid em and Ed were dead silent and pale before grabbing the cell phone and the box then running off MH turned over to us and apologized for not stepping in sooner MH told him it was fine but I was still dumbfounded that I was helping an off-duty cop MH gave M his badge number in case those two came back and then thanked me for suggesting a few Disney and DreamWorks movies for his kids he told me he had a young son and a daughter before leaving M asked me if I was okay and I told him I was still baffled that MH was a cop and I didn't know that and what was also funny Karma at its finest that a few days later the em and Ed did the same thing again but at a different Walmart and they were both arrested for assault on an officer and resisting arrest MH was talking to M while I was on lunch and then told me when I came back so MH if you're out there or reading this post thank you for helping me out that night from those two the second story is laid off while on vacation asked to train my replacement this was a few years ago but I wanted to share it here because one I hope it helps people stay on guard for similar Shenanigans and two the company in question has had a bad week and I'm amused I worked for a company in the Georgetown area of Washington DC specializing in carpet and flooring sales to businesses and schools which is as far as I'll go in identifying it I was there for a year and a half and while it was busy job taking orders sending samples to clients ordering stock Etc it was also nice in that the three salespeople were rarely in the office physically I never actually met one of them in fact in person so I had this small office and showroom to myself those days I kept it clean humming along with product on hand and that was life for me nothing fancy but it paid the bills what they didn't do was give a lot of time off sick time was time that the showroom was closed one person in the office remember so they really didn't like when I wasn't there I even work the day of my wedding closing up shop a couple of hours early to the area manager's irritation to head to the venue I didn't take time off and in fact worked a lot of extra time on weekends and such to make sure big orders like like for a then new office complex south of downtown for military offices had what they needed on time so when I took a week and a half of vacation in August of 2019 having saved up my time off it was chaos for them because it meant the office was going to have one of two things happen one of the salespeople would have to be on site there in my place to have the showroom open and thus not be out making sales or the showroom would have to be closed for that time period they argued with me about it asked me to be a team player all of that and no this is my time off I'm spending it visiting family in New England my dad is getting surgery and I'm going to go head up and help out end of story I got back to find that they'd come up with a third option hiring a temp to come in and essentially open the office up and turn the lights on all day orders were handled via the salese for a few days which was fine except for two things first no one told me not one text email Etc saying anyone was going to be there in the office and two this wasn't through a temp agency this this was the son of the company's CFO who was going to school in the area he did such a great job in that week or so that his mom leaned on the area manager to promote him to fulltime and dropped me again I knew none of this until I got off the plane grabbed a few hours of sleep got to the office to find some stranger there saying this was his office now and I should contact the area manager I was Furious but without much I could do about it to my knowledge I know better now I left my keys and headed out feeling like a year and a half of my life had been wasted the phone rang halfway home on the Metro the manager he heard I'd been by and wanted to talk to me about an opportunity work is a temp for them for a few weeks maybe a month at the same pay rate I had been at and train my new replacement I wanted to laugh at him I wanted to scream I wanted to beat the little bee to a bloody pulp but I was a newlywed who had bills to pay and unexpectedly was out of a job so okay fine it's a paycheck doing the work I already know while I looked look for something else fine that effing kid mom got him his job and he knew he was Untouchable as a result he would sleep in the back of the showroom he had a little hidden area that he put a mattress of carpet samples in and would doze back there show up 45 minutes late leave without a word 2 hours early no interest in learning a bit of the job just two things he would say that his mom ran the company so he got a great job knowing who I am mind you I lasted a week and just couldn't do more I was training the untrainable and the whole situation had me in a deep depression since I was a temp now there wasn't any recourse for the company when I tossed my keys on the desk the following Monday on my way out the door and left Fast Forward 3 years I work for a company now that handles the union dues and love it the old showroom was closed during the pandemic but reopened earlier this year and I found out today that it was being closed down due to mismanagement and the sales staff folded into the Richmond and Philadelphia offices I know this because the same vapid dipsh dug my phone number up and called to ask if wherever I was working was hiring so point to all this be very careful when you leave town because you're not there to spot any Shenanigans going on if you don't have a contract or something like that you're replaceable particularly if mama wants her son to have a job no matter how secure you feel in your job be wary and be ready to figure out a plan B if you suddenly need it so you don't have to take temp work to train your replacement like I did the third story is military wife at a military exchange looking to make me Break The Rules all righty so in my past I was a cashier at a military exchange most of my customers called it the PX Post Exchange but it was the neex Navy Exchange this was probably four or 5 years ago so my memory on the specifics might be a little vague this will be a shortish quickie so to lay down the story being a military exchange off base there were rules you needed to show military ID usually active duty dependent / spousal or retiree types in order to enter and again check out you were allowed a guest but they had to accompany you the entire time and only one bearing the military ID was able to make any payment at all with those in mind let's dive in I was just doing my job it was probably an hour hour and a half to closing I was usually at the register closing just my preference and I was good at it closing stuff always got done when I was responsible for it assuming I had the time to do it read assuming customers weren't flooding the area in the last 2 hours it had been a fairly slow night so up to then I was in a decent enough mood things were pretty clean and I was just waiting for customers straightening things out retail people know the drill then a lady eel came up to the register with a guest her friend F the E had stuff she was buying showed her ID which was fine and checked out that was when F set down a Visa gift card one of the prepaid choose your balance ones great I asked f for her ID after getting it into the system and gearing it up up to activate it the El showed her ID again when it was multiple transactions and I'd already seen ID I usually didn't care if it was the same person while F tried handing me her money I asked again for F's ID and this is when the fund started eel told me that it was okay that F was with her but I told her that I could not take the money from F without seeing a military ID this wasn't my policy this wasn't just the store policy this was company policy she insisted so I radioed my mod manager on duty at the time thankfully this was one of the good ones and she backed me up I remember El's next statement and demand very clearly do you really expect me to buy my own birthday present lady what I'm upholding my company's policy I supported by my manager repeated that I could not accept money from anyone without seeing a military ID but if she really wanted F to buy her that Visa card she could have FB at the Walmart up the street literally 2 minutes away if she did not have the military ID so eel started throwing things at me I backed up as far as I could against the wall in my register area and then shoving stuff off of the seasonal shelf behind her then off one of the side Stacks with Easter candy in it she charged off out the front with my manager following but not before my manager told me I'm sorry op you didn't deserve that not even 5 seconds later my lpsecurity guy rounded the corner and followed I don't know what happened after that but it was nice that my manager had my back I never saw e again I hope you enjoyed these stories hit the like button and subscribe to the channel have a good day
