her a taste of her own medicine the Second Story rude guests get ignored in lose their phone as a petty justice prevails the third story revenge of the Frontline staff Mass Exodus leads to office's downfall the first story is I've been coming here since before you were born entitled Linda is a time traveler I've been working at a local coffee shop for the past couple months and I've been a regular there for an upwards of 5 years I got the job because I've been a barista before and I make small talk with the owner so he was more than happy to take me on I was working with my favorite coworker whom we'll call Sparky because he's all about team Instinct and we were just wrapping up our closing duties closing the till diving out the tips and clearing down the tables and counters now it's around 20 minutes past closing time so we're blasting some ELO to pretty decent volume and chatting about our Pokémon go plans after work when we hear a really aggressive shaking we look up and there's this small middle-aged woman with the classic let me see your manager haircut she looks confused but not hostile so I go over there and deal with it while Sparky handles the espresso machine let's call this woman Linda I don't know she looked like a Linda me hey there sorry but we're closed Linda totally ignoring what I said I'd like 2 lbs of ground espresso beans I didn't get too peeved and just assumed she didn't hear me me I'm sorry ma'am but we're closed I'd love to be able to help you but we've shut down the tills and I can't do any more orders Linda just stands there and doesn't say anything she looks pretty taken a back like I punched her dog and spat in her soup Linda excuse me oh boy this is not going to go well me putting on my best resting night space we close at 7:30 on weekdays and seven on weekends we open at 6:00 every morning Linda listen sweetie you're mistaken you guys always stay open until 9 at this point Sparky is watching from the back and I can tell he's just eating this sh up the little a-hole loves drama I try and explain to her that no we've never been open that late you must be mistaken but she's not having it she starts getting snoody and condescending like I have no idea what I'm doing Linda look sweetie I've been coming here since before you were born I know how this business Works far better than you do now grab me what I asked for oh you have unleashed the beast me ma'am I won't stoop to your level sweetie we've only been open for 5 years so I find it very unlikely that you've been coming to this store for the past 22 years unless you've achieved time travel I swear you could hear a pin drop in the silence that followed she opened her mouth closed it again glared at me and then muttered some Choice words under her breath before stomping away now I have the flare for the dramatic and I just couldn't pass this chance up me As She's Walking Away have a nice evening ma'am cue the typical I'll call your manager and have you fired line and I returned to the store had a giggle with Sparky and we continued with our night of Pokémon Shenanigans part two Linda wants her hot iced latte Cafe had a steady flow of people lot of regulars with the usual orders and a few people picking up baked goods nothing out of the ordinary I'm making a Venetian fog which is a London Fog with English breakfast and hazelnut instead of Earl gry and vanilla would totally recommend it when I overhear my dear cooworker Sparky getting a little agitated I Eaves drop because I live for drama and can't really see anything from behind the bar Sparky I'm Sorry Miss I just want to make sure we don't get anything wrong you want a medium iced latte whiny voice from behind the cash no for the last time I want a hot iced latte Mother of God it's her I don't know whether to laugh or cry I mean I'm glad it's not me but no one deserves to deal with this I focus on the drinks and try to pump them out as fast as I can so I can swoop in and get Sparky out of there he's a youngster and relatively new to customer service so sh customers like that get him pretty frazzled and upset I keep an ear out to make sure things don't get too crazy Sparky I'm sorry but we can either do a hot drink or a cold drink Linda let me speak to your manager clearly you don't know what you're doing now mind you our manager is out he's normally only there in the mornings and bounces after 3:30 and let's us handle everything else by default I'm acting as manager customers are staring because she's speaking rather loudly and holding up a relatively small line but chances are things are going to get busier the longer this goes on Sparky looks over at me and I can see that he's ready to run to the back and have a small meltdown because he's had an sh enough week as is with exams and worrying about University I fin finish up the drinks at the bar send Sparky to the back to refill the paper cups code for go to the back and have a breather and put on my manager face me hello again what seems to be the problem her face when she sees who she's talking to Linda you're the manager me yes ma'am what can I help you with yes I lied but de I will not tolerate this attitude from her Linda you can't be the manager I want to speak to the manager dear Lord give me the strength not to backhand some sense into this woman me I'm the manager for today the other manager won't be here until Monday it's Friday and the actual manager takes the weekend off Linda I want a hot iced latte me okay so a hot latte with ice Linda yes a hot ice latte F was that so hard to explain woman I ring her through and Sparky comes back sensing the trouble is over and we swap I'm on the till and he's doing drinks which includes Linda's drink everything is smooth until Sparky calls out her hot ice latte she comes to the bar with his stupid smirk on her face grabs her drink and leans over to Sparky she says something that I can't quite catch and I see Sparky freeze up and His Hands start to shake Linda still has this stupid look on her face and is still talking there is a regular behind her and she's shooting me looks at scream this woman is insane help and I'm over there like a cat on catnip me ma'am was there something else we could help you with Linda you should hire people who actually know what they're doing you're wasting money on this kid B you've unleashed the beast you do not talk that way to any of our staff our manager is dead set on sh like this and has said to all of us that if someone is saying rude sh like that to any coworker we can ask them to leave so long as we give him the heads up after the fact and let him know what went down this is a right I'm about to bring down like the wrath of God me I'm sorry you feel that way but this gentleman like hell I was going to let his name be known to this Hells spawn is one of the best employees here if you're not happy with our standards and continue to treat our employees poorly I'll have to ask you to leave Linda you can't do that I've been a regular here for years me ma'am I sincerely doubt that majority of our regulars are aware of our closing hours and treat our employees with respect Mike drop B she gets all huffy grabs her drink from the counter spilling some on the floor and her sleeve before storming out I apologize to the customers in line and ask Sparky if he's okay he says he's fine and wants to finish everything up before taking his break we finish up and hug it out watching that chick get kicked out cheered him up a bit and the rest of the customers in line were absolute sweethearts and left really amazing tips we're talking five bucks on a $2 cup of coffee to make up for everything that happened aftermath I let the manager know what was up giving him the blowby blow and giving a few names of some regulars that were there apparently he got a call right after she left saying that we were rude and refused to Ser her he knew it was horse sh and we haven't seen her since the second story is quick Petty Justice all right so I work at a D in movie theater and I was serving in that new movie The Upside I was the more experienced server in the theater and there were about 70 people in this soldout showing we've been serving people for 25 minutes and the trailers begin it's an sh Show about this time because 99% of people have sat down and are enjoying food and drinks while the 1% arrive late and find their seats we have Runners and myself and the other server running items and I have two guests just standing in the aisle blocking traffic now I give them the benefit of the doubt and ask them do you need help finding your seats in a very rude and short turn they reply we sure don't mind you this woman and her friend have been standing there for over a minute and we can't have a guess standing in the aisle I'm not sure why she's blocking the aisle but I again give her the benefit of the doubt and just let her know in the nicest tone I can possibly muster well okay we're just not supposed to have anyone standing in the aisles but I'll happily help youall once you sit down it's obviously a safety and fire hazard at this point point I'm annoyed because they're being very rude even though I offered my help originally I walk away because it's very busy and I need to run more drinks this lady literally chases me out of the theater screaming well if you hadn't walked off you would have heard me telling you we were waiting for our friend it doesn't matter why they were standing in the aisle and at that point I was letting you know our policy and that I would help you unsettled I don't care what you had to say about it but again I politely let them know that I'm sorry that I thought they were fine and I'll help them in a second she literally ch chased me out of the theater just to get a word in we have reserved seats too so why they couldn't wait in their seats is beyond me I've decided I'm not serving them though so I asked the other server if she would take the guests and I explained the situation we ignored them for the next 10 minutes and I could tell that they were livid I passed them off as guests and they weren't going to be rude to me anymore I ignored them completely and at the end of the film they left their phone guess who said they couldn't find it even though they did and gave it to the manager after the guests had left so they we're going to have to wait until tomorrow to get it back the third story is no bonus and insane workload well closed down the office I worked for a company Canada that sells insurance for many years it wasn't a bad place to work but nothing great pay was only $3 to4 over the minimum wage but we got a tiny commission for sales company made an obscene amount in commission and we got 5% of what they got since all you have to do is sit and wait for customers to come in it was not too much effort to earn earn that tiny commission almost everyone was a longtime staff with even the most Junior one working for more than 3 years they had five to six offices in the city and I worked at the office which earned them most of their revenue it was a busy office but covid-19 made things worse corporate decided to close the office to walk in customers instead of doing all the sales over the phone so people would call us and we would take payment over the phone and email them the papers this meant that the normal transactions took longer than usual there was a lot of running around for us to scan an email things phones rang non-stop if there were too many calls it would all go to voicemail and we have to call people back this meant working continuously till close on top of that there were regular customers who would bang on our doors to let them in and shouted us if we tried to explain the new policy there was a management change during this time and one of the younger kids took charge at the corporate office she decided to take a completely different way of managing things firstly her way of compensating us Frontline staff for all the craziness and extra work was to buy buy us a pizza a slice per person but she showered the managers of each office with expensive gift hampers and salary raises we had a nice manager who was supportive and told us about this he felt bad and bought us lunch for a few days with his own money come November we get an email that there won't be a Christmas bonus that year due to the pandemic it also said that we should be considering ourselves lucky for having a job this bonus was a longstanding practice which got you anything between $400 and $1,400 during Christmas time depending on the years You' worked with them never denied since the 30 plus years in the company's history many of us had even done our shopping relying on that expected bonus now a job in this industry has a high attrition rate and it's easy to find another job it's a licensed profession and the number of licensed Brokers is not high also these Brokers make a real lot of money as commissions from insurance companies but we still did not complain thinking that we should support the management during this difficult time then the annual sales report came in we had done almost 8% more sales during the pandemic quarter compared to the previous year 2019 we were all shocked we got our manager to ask the corporate office for an explanation bonus issue and he was told that the sales were not as high as they projected someone did the math for the previous years and found that it was a lie since every previous year in the last 10 only had a Max 3 to 4% you increase in sales everyone was frustrated now and one girl asked the corporate directly to reconsider the bonus she had been working with this company for close to 7 years and was quite an asset she she was given an option to shut up her leave she became so angry that she quit right away this was followed by many others who started looking for jobs with other companies in the next 6 months all but one me of the eight Frontline staff quit Andor found another job two actually found jobs in their own Fields with double what they were earning three went to competing Brokers and got better paying management level positions due to their experience chaos ensued it was hard to find replacements with license and experience every candidate they interviewed and selected were poached by the companies before they even started at our company all they got were two new employees with zero experience work handled by 78 staff was being done by me and these two who were clueless I quit finally as I couldn't handle the stress I wanted to take a vacation but I was offered jobs by three different companies each with a better offer and were too good to pass last I heard they were really thinking about shutting down the office from the highest revenue source to Zer hit the like button and subscribe to the channel have a good
