Boring head ( No such thing ) review

okay another tool review I'm gonna stop right three four years ago I have a little grizzly mini mill and takes that mt3 taper and I bought this little boring bicep terrific was being good at the time and very happy with it used it many times I've used it many times no the carbide tip borne tools good shape you know I shot them a little diamond file saw blade sharpener that I converted to shopping table ID tips and been very happy with it so when I bought my new machine it took an hour a taper so you know learned over the years at mostly used tools made from the same places thinks I'm a better quality as I was when they you know get this specs a little tighter they charge a little more so and when searching I compared the been good Amazon eBay and this time Amazon had a this set from all industrial supply is this you know a seller on Amazon and I think they're on eBay - but the Amazon was the best price free shipping and amazon return policy which I enjoy so I bought this and uh it's a pretty good kit I haven't really abused it yet I just set it up once and played with it amateur so fine and what I did is it call came in this plastic box which I hate plastic boxes so I made a rack for my tool holders and I just got some chunks of wood and basically copied this one and drilled some holes in these all going my toolbox in one area so the good news is no I think they're half-inch you know shank size so they all need to change so I can still use bits from this set and uh this will fit into my tail stock taper on my new machine so that could come in handy I just have to buy tang for the tail stock for the drawbar tang actor will make one I can probably just make one but I have to remember that before I use it so it doesn't spin but I can always use this in the tail stock on the lathe portion yeah use as a boring bar on the on the lathe so that's why I'm happy I got this kit so if they gotta bring in its a pot number beat each s - - it's on Amazon it's a fifty millimeter two inch head alright tip of barn head I thought what size the base was it's not I know it's different this is the one and a half inch and a half by eight thread on this bah so that's hoping these would be interchangeable but they're not this is small I saw not mistake could be one inch and I should have made myself a note and mocked it before I put it together but hey I know they got to take it apart so why bother oh that's toe review um I'm hauling on a bore now so I gotta set this up and I'll bring you back for that already all set up at the mill then why just hold just a little bit so I have this somewhat set up and we'll see how close I am here I'm just taking a little skin cut so I can get a measurement anywhere with 75 I like to hit a half inch exactly so 25 thousands let's see oh yeah see how good this head is for the adjustments one really trying this so good dial is my other one not to admit that I can never trust the dial at all so and the problem is yet the which way to which way to turn in 10,000 since see what she takes out I'm not sure if this is ten thousands died or 20,000 Skutt say that's why I'm trying this ten thousands will be safely in wigs head tick 2500 I do have a another part if I go over a screw up it's not important and then slow range [Applause] see where we check off here ten thousandths which equals twenty thousands on the hot no could be ten thousands read it upside down and yeah there's 20 thousands so so the dial is pretty on and just after that it's double you know cutting a radius it's gonna be double so I need another five you see if I can dial in two and a half which I'll be surprised if I can hit that and go for two and see what it does [Applause] and there is a set screw hole man I did remember to back off the set screw I've learned that mistake before lock this down set it right on the hole so yeah basically Laura five tenths off which is good enough Nick it's gonna always Paul a bit so good news is adjustment dial yeah if i had you zooming in shot adjustment down on this horn head yeah precise really fine adjustment dowling a couple thousands so i'm very happy with this under $100 wait you know I think it was seventy bucks with the other bits and everything so how can you go wrong my rate kept I faded cheaper than most other tables the MT three taper and when I bought that there's a lot more money so the higher a tape is a lot more common so I can't complain about so far the quality I notice only one time aluminum taking off 25 thousandths but that's what this test was for to see how good it was so I'm happy I hope this helps yeah have a good day
