hey youtube it's Zoey and today I'm going to give you a tour of my current bookshelves it's been three years since I last showed you my shelves so we are in dire need of this update I've just been waiting to film it because I never felt like my shelves were perfect especially compared to other booktubers who have shelf upon shelf of gorgeous books lining their walls compared to them I have a smaller collection of books don't get me wrong I know I have a lot of books but I have to constantly on haul books as new ones come in because I have quite a small room and I can't fit any more bookshelves in here anyway the moral of this story is that there's no such thing as perfection so here are my imperfectly perfect shelves I finally organize them in a way that works for me I organized them by vague genre so fantastical books are together and then more realistic contemporary books are together and then I organize them by height within that category so now it's time to go through every book I own we're going to start with my big book shelves over there which my dad built with his own two hands we went together to Home Depot and picked out the wood together and then he put it together he stained the wood I love these shelves there's so much love put into them and I think they're so pretty but also sometimes I still do miss my old white shelves from Ikea because these new shelves are almost too pretty I'm so scared that I'm going to scratch them or somehow accidentally destroy them [Music] [Music] all right so starting with the top left shelf of my big bookcase we have some assorted sci-fi fantasy novels the tallest ones firstly I have the illustrated editions of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone the Chamber of Secrets and the Prisoner of Azkaban all
