[Music] [Music] happy birthday sweetie [Music] that's funny [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] ah so I'm not 16 it's not even my birthday but we're going to have cake you're going to have layer cake layer cake I got to show you it's covered up you can't even see it layer cake I think that you're new and you're going what is this this is it's a Jennifer just get with it there's a bunch of old ladies having fun whoa too much fun so this is the name of the quilt I'm already hot oh my goodness I'm just gonna have to take it off take it ah the hats gotta go - oh I am just so hot anyhow um I forgot what it's gonna say cake piece of cake that's what we're doing tonight now if it's a piece of cake how does that sound easy piece of cake it's really easy okay you won't see the quotes yeah you want to see the quilts you guys are gonna have to make lots of noise okay so you know Teresa yes Tresa and you know Rick now Rick and you know Orion oh and daddy but look look look I'm on my spot see I'm on my spot good okay ready Patricia's gonna go first here come and this is guy way they hide all the ladies Kylie say I know all the lace she got in her Easter basket early okay okay you ready I ready okay so truly a piece of cake I made three blocks and I ended up with 12 they multiplied it's true but yeah and it is really you saw the name on the cover it says quilt in a day I got my fabric and I was so inspired by the red red is to me energizing and I went home I started sewing I couldn't stop I would I worked till it's late at night I got up the next morning started bitten and I finished it so it was less than a day okay the and show the back the cooking is really great on it the quilting is fantastic and you can see all the free motion quilting and did you do it Patti their credit card to Amy Potter did all my does all my fields but there's four sections in the block and you can really see and this is custom quilting you realize you can get it done overall pattern but I like the custom quilting which is more expensive that's beautiful alright so pass it on and the next one is mine so I was just thinking I don't know romantic floral floral so this is also a youth quilt it's 3 by 4 3 by 4 youth quilt and I I just picked the real large-scale floral prints and pieces that went with it and I decided that it needed that border so I fussy cut the border so it's directional so look at the top you can see across the top and the bottom and then the flowers grow down the sides pretty cool huh so when I looked at it and when I looked for the first time in the photograph I said darn I wish I would have taken a photograph before I sewed it together because I I really couldn't see that I didn't balance the dark really well now I'm telling you my secrets but I wish I would have done but I I can't you got the dark three down along one side ah I should I've told you but I really liked it in anyhow it was a lot of fun and Judy Jackson quilted this one and she's got some fuzzy cuts in the 9-inch or some free motion quilting in the 9-inch look how she just did rectangle straight quilting and they're pretty that is beautiful so I love it alright so that's another colorway yes how many of you are romantic let me see romantic whoa okay so this one is Suze you actually have pictures on your pattern yeah one is fine and yeah this one is it's a line called glamping which is glamour camping and Orion brought in his wife's camper that she loves and she got it repainted for this event so it's really fun but I wanted just to mention a few things you can tell I have some really large scale and mine as well and I've thought that I should keep them in as big as possible and so I did all that and I looked at it and just didn't work for me so I took a picture and I'm going to put this down here hold this I took a picture because I wanted to show you the difference I don't think you're miked anymore so this is my first picture that I did can you see it and can you see it like it's all got clumped together and then I had these dark Browns in there that really popped out at me so I called Orion I said Ryan what's wrong with this you know so anyway he goes well let's see if we can get that out and cut it apart so I Unsoeld the whole thing well as much as Patti does unsewn I do I would just rather start over I just really dislike but I didn't have another one so I was kind of stuck but I was really glad I did because this is what I ended up with and I think it looks so much more balanced so I it was worth done doing it okay you can compare you can really tell huh so I just did this with my phone most phones can take pictures but I highly recommend you know what eleanor's talk about taking a picture it really is gonna save you in the end you'll be happier yeah I really think so but it was really fun to make they're really fast and I had a me quilted it and I had her do a combination of like wood grains and some trees in there cuz it camping outdoor woods so that was my theme so cute anyway okay so this one this one we're gonna use this layer cake so I'd like this one up on the board if you could yeah the problem with layer cakes is you don't have a lot of fabric leftover do you know so you have no scraps no yeah from my back nothing left cool no scraps in my back we need a top person yeah you're getting it thank you I really like it cool all right the next one yes I think it's Theresa no it's patty it's Patty's I'm sorry I love purple and these are all fabrics I found in my stash so that's that's it this is the this one it's a 20-block quilt four by five it's kind of a made up size because when I travel I don't want it so big that I can't carry it because I take lots of quilts when I travel so I kept it small but but not not too big okay so we tell the quilting the quilting is really pretty she did butterflies all over I don't know if you noticed in the border it's a butterfly fabric and she did butterflies in daisies and Amy Potter quilted it ok now this one this is this is the one that Teresa did ok so Teresa is going to talk Teresa gets to talk okay okay so this one is twin size coming it's four by six four by six and how many layer cakes does it use one and a half if you really want to say 50 for this Danny's way or yes when we put it on my drawer well these are Ryan really like this fabric and he just asked me to make one they look a piece of cake with a layer cake and basically it just was so fresh that we just can I get that white lattice and so on and then also when I see these like I say the big squares I just think like people that has embroidery machines and all that they can rotary a nice design on it and so on to personalize is for anyone that they like so that's actually we do have a kid mm-hmm you don't have to give this up to Taronga for the copper turquoise and the turquoise all go together with the camper mm-hmm yeah that's cute all right and this one is also twin size this is also 4x6 Co have a 4x6 you know the fabric this is my fabric obviously we have a lot of le and it's very romantic if it yeah I know I I'm thinking oh I have to start snatching these clothes for my dad at home but it'd be fun but this is just a mixture of all of the different colorways with the melon and the periwinkle and the pink that looks very pretty together but while you're looking at it and I think I'll have you notice how the blocks are set together on the first vertical row ok Banias show them the first vertical row okay and notice the corner square okay so it's on okay go over it's on the bottom right peg though just the square that no this is this way the orange square yeah yeah so it's on the bottom right and then look at the next block under it okay under it she's dyslexic okay so we start on the oranges the bottom right and now this is the bottom left and now we go to the bottom right and then we go to the bottom and then we go to the bottom you're getting better Fatih okay so now go to the second vertical row and notice that it's yeah it's the top right and then top left and then it's the top right and top left and top right and top left so it's those two rows that just keep on repeating themselves to make the pattern good you wanna see the back [Music] so this was every the leftovers from two layer cakes and you can really see the quilting and it's beautiful and who did that one yes if you speak in the microphone take your time having right here okay I just wanted to say when you do your 9-patch one time if you're gonna use two squares I like one time you put it in the corners you know and the next time you put it in the center so low Eleanor you can finish by a so for instance let's see do you see the top blue or the top blue someone okay so now it's a whole square and then go down three and now it's just a rectangle okay you mix oh look at the orange you can see down here okay lift it up real high that's as high as I get okay so down here they're very close to each other yeah turn here yes that's their visit where and then the rectangle and this one is the orange the softer oranges the square and then the rectangle okay and always balanced it's as clear as mud right but you'll get it you'll get it in a minute you know get it in a minute that's good okay and the last one is queen size this is the one I really want to steal treat so you might want to hold this I can't do that Wow pretty it's really Eliane it's very soft very nice yes and remember you can do it in a day maybe not this size you can you get it did you do it in the day Therese yes it's really really pretty very nice and if your mattress is that one in a packet that's no not this I got each in it we have layered cakes of it and if it you mattress is too deep you just can add a border of your choice wait at first we didn't add any borders and then after we saw some of the quilts looked better with borders and so we put some borders around the outside edge and that was very nice alright and show the back oh here look at the back just like that hmm that is really beautiful who quilted it Amy Amy Amy but the Amy Potter but see you can see all the quilting in the block and then do you see how she quilted the lattice separately it's really beautiful it's really beautiful good all right shall I take off my hat and now I have to fix my hair and get ready to sew cool all right and my both thanks we didn't do anything with the trailer with just a minute and we will okay I'm going to show you our inspiration actually I did decide to use the same layer cake that Sue did and you can see right here it says glamour and camping or glamping glamour camping or glamping it is by Mary Jane it's Mary Jane Butler Mary Jane's farm magazine have you gotten that magazine no well it's so fun actually Eric as this but I am going to show you that this is Sue and me at quilt a quilt market this is Mary Jane Butler right in the middle and you know how honestly I have to tell you people want to wet their pants when they meet Eleanor burns I felt like I had to wet my pants when I met Mary Jane I was so excited I was just so excited because right in this studio right in right in the convention hall Mary Jane pulled her camper in and she had all of these cool things and so this is what really inspired us all of the things in the camper and so Orion and Theresa have had this camper for quite a while turquoise 1950s 1950s and now I think that ah Rick is going in so he's been painting it just for you is it cute he told me that if he pulled it down to the beach would I sleep in it and I said there's no toilet is there he said no but he said sort of but anyhow that's the outside and did you take any of the pictures on the inside Eric has it okay we're gonna look at Eric's pictures so open the door the pink flamingos there we go this is the inside and I got to decorate it yesterday it was so much fun all of the turquoise dishes that Teresa's collected the glasses the pots and pans the stove works is that fun we put a kylie skype kylie is Orion's oldest daughter all of the red and turquoise together that great so that's what inspired us okay and I want to show you what glamping is I have to show you you see you camp like a girl do you see that you take along your own clawfoot bathtub that's really cool and you have happy glamour happy glamper that's really fun okay and I have another one over here let me see I like this one this one is the lamping hot and there's the fire beside it and there's your tant pretty and pink pretty cool and there's sisters unlimited so this is all through all of the fussy cuts and then there's also all of the girls talking the chatter so here we have just between us girls here and glamping equipments my dear haha is that Shasta what does it say you guys can read it better accouterment Shasta oh this one no which one this one yeah all the wings in the bag yes yes real oh that's there they are and what's the shape of this one called all the teardrop right and those they're coming back the teardrop is coming back they look really really fun and I've seen some new modern air streams as well isn't that fun and this one you had me at glamour isn't that cute really really fun and here they've got their little dog cool Sierra here very fun so you can see all the different little color ways that you can get and what's so fun about this line is that of course it just reminds me of a Czech tablecloth there's pink and there's turquoise Czech and there's red Czech you got to have red Czech right when you're gonna go out camping so there's just so many fun pieces and polka dots you've gotta have polka dots polka dots or too much fun okay so I'm gonna put that aside for a minute and just show you okay you can do a layer cake so we could eat cake huh we could eat cake do you want to eat cake let's eat cake you guys don't wear the cake are you looking you guys were looking where we could have our cake and eat it too okay now what does that mean have our cake and eat it too you can have it oh you can have it all you did is that too much fun so what could be better than one cake it would be two pigs see I want you guys to get all sugared up so then you're all hyped huh I need my I'm 12 inch 12 and a half inch rope let's write anything okay right now we're gonna we're gonna work on the sewing wall okay so now if you had a scrap diab scraps you know that you can do this from scraps and if you look at your pattern it tells you how many 10 inch squares you need up to a hundred and seventeen for king size but if you just put a a scrap on your turnable mat and I'm using my 12 and a half inch square up ruler you always put number one in the upper right corner you always cut it a little oversized I'm going to actually line up the lines with the check because and I've cut off on the right in the top so you just take this and you just get rid of it and so now you can pick up your ruler and just swing your turnable around and now if you want 10 inches then you put it just like this okay so now I have 10 inches lined along the outside edge and now I've cut a perfect 10 inch I'm going to show you the coolest thing you ready this is the coolest ever this just came in the mail you know that whenever you have a layer cake that the edges are always peeked I just came back from Lancaster and everybody said well how do you what do you line up with your edge of your foot well you always line up the points on the pinky you line up on the points of the pinky as that is part of your quarter-inch I got this tool even Orion didn't even see this this is an old-fashioned pinking tool have any of you ever seen this look at this this is unbelievable it has the pinking edge on there and the reason I wanted to show you this I have a scrap right now and I I would recommend cutting with the okay so let's just do this is that cool or what and look at the edges isn't that cool I would recommend you still use your rotary cutter but this is fun look at this but I can just imagine the ladies you know cutting out their dresses and such with that okay that's one cool one so we'll get rid of that one this was this was a gift and I just think it's so much fun and I am going to thank Dee hall for that that fun she knows I like to collect old things okay so that's a scrap now you could also make your layer cakes out of 1/3 yard pieces right one-third yards that works really good so all you have to do is just go ahead this is the edges already really straight we I won't even cut it straight okay I won't even cut it again that you can just go ahead and take a 1/3 yard is how many inches 12 so all you have to do is cut this into a 10 inch and save this that's good for something so are you guys on a sugar high now you're going you're good well I know whenever I showed up at Albertsons and took all those cupcakes they were gone okay what are we going to sell everybody else today okay look at that save this Eliane this is really good for a salvage right and so all you have to do is go ahead and use your 12 inch 12 and a half inch ruler again cut across and you can get how many 10 inch squares out of 1/3 so that would go really quick for a king-size window that might go really fast for you all right so we're getting lots of stuff cut get rid of that take this take this off the table but now I want to go lamp the lamp all right so let's see if we can lay out one so I have these and Sue said well you shouldn't really use these big pieces but I like them so much I was hoping to use that sue she cut up the ladies so now I'm already on page six page six and I'm gonna lay out a nine patch a nine patch look what's left I love it I love it so I like to use the big prints but I'm looking at this okay okay so I see I see a little bit we don't have to whisper okay I see a little bit of red in here a little bit of red so I'd really do want I don't want to cut that up so I'm going to put a little red a red square right in the middle because I I see red on both of these red campers now let's see how about I didn't plan this all out how about a green check is that good that would be good and up here what do you think you think the little flower would be sweet hmm this is the hardest part huh you wanna check the green check up here you're right is that good it's better whenever you're looking in the camera right okay what color should I use there all right what am I gonna put there a polka dot I've got the perfect piece you guys are gonna be responsible for this if it doesn't turn out same thing huh is that okay there is nothing worse than a whole room full of ladies trying to tell you much oh my goodness oh my goodness okay so this is good down here that's pretty huh that's pretty okay we only have one more decision what are we going to do turquoise pink green pink what do you want rich too much right in the middle don't worry I'm going to cut up cut it up just a minute switch the gold in the green help me Orion help there squint at it it'll look better yeah it's lovely alright I am making a nine patch holy smokes let's don't do that again I think next time I'm gonna just come in okay yes yes I should flip it upside down okay you're absolutely right he made me flip it upside down so I would have more options later wait you are right you are right okay so let's just clear all this off so that was easy wasn't it so you could call your whole family and okay so it'll work good we'll put it up I know where I can get more fabric if it's not good actually I own all that fabric out there I just let you guys have a little bit of it okay so this is the hugest 9-patch that you ever did see so I'm gonna show my vertical rows together okay down and down I'm gonna go like this I'm gonna go one so what I did this morning was laid out on my bed some of my blocks one two three so I'm gonna go just like that okay so I don't have to keep on jumping up I'm gonna stack it okay so that's ready and now I'm going to do the same with this one okay I'm going to stack it so that the top is on the top and the bottom is on the bottom right good okay I think we can do it so I'm gonna do a quarter inch seam 15 stitches to the inch line this all up and pedal pedal to the metal okay so I'm lining up the on foot with that little edge that little goofy edge and just line that up go right down along there I think that as soon as I solve in in Mary Jane's farm that they were having this glamping trip I just said to Teresa all men we got to go on this camping trip with just the girls then we just decided it would be so much fun we still haven't done it yet but I know that Orion does have he has [Music] mmm-hmm what do you called a camper it's a camper an RV thank you he has an old one and so sometimes Teresa and Orion just pack up the girls and they go down and they sit in the Walmart parking lot and just watching everybody come by huh so now I'm gonna cut that so you share some of your experiences in your camper oh right okay but watch this now I'm at the top of the first two rows I'm going to open up this row and I'm just going to put this one right beside it and I'm just going to flip this this is what we planned right that will be plan oh good if it's not it's okay good okay okay Oh Ryan what's your camping stories Oh okay open this up when we can't when we when we can't he told you everything we did go I do remember that we went when they were young when the kids were young and I was having my birthday I I was a little bit order in sweet 16 though but anyhow we did go to the La Jolla Indian village reservation reservation and we did whitewater rafting in inner-tubes have you ever done that I don't even know if they could still do that but that was really fun and I do remember they fixed me a birthday party out in the middle of the campground it was very very fun okay so now whipped cream as I see now you're remembering so it's really it is fun for everybody to you know take your children out and go camping okay this is looking good this is looking good it's exactly like we planned it okay so what we just now did was down to page seven huh so now we're just going to turn the page and now it shows you that you press your seams toward the center when you go across when you flip this right sides together you're seen goes toward the center and this goes on okay it's this one okay so I'm backwards the there's the center toward the center and this top one goes away from the center popsie mop bottom seam down yes that's very good there's a lot to think about here Orion I'm trying to get it all thunk out okay so while I sew this I want you to go back and look I'm gonna do needle down and sew across actually you're you're pressing your seam toward the center and then only in the middle row and the top and the bottom rows they're gone away from the center can you see those little seam allowances in the pattern there very little aren't they but I want you to go back to page six beside number two and this is what Theresa was talking about when she was saying that sometimes your piece of fabric is one large square another time that same fabric can be just a rectangle it's just the way you cut so you're focusing on the circle circled one right there right there and actually you're supposed to circle on the focus on the on the pink one and it looks like the line shifted the little circle shifted but it's the pink that we're looking at and can you see the difference between the two of them all right Teresa you get in my iron hot okay one more the la jolla Indian Reservation you can just go ahead and do tent camping but the story well you know this okay you tell me the words and I'll say them over I don't know what you want me to tell them oh my gosh I I can I will tell you about I want my fish oh my gosh Orion just this cute little guy he was a stubborn little boy this cute big guy and he caught he caught a fish he caught a fish and and it was it was kind that you really need to throw back you know a throw back fish but he he went on the ground screaming I want my fish I want my fishing he was thrashing about and everybody was walking by thinking I was a child beater he's spelling my fish I got my fish so anyhow that that is the one story and then the other story that he's talking about is that a fire started up on the hill across from where we were camping and we actually could not get out it was so crowded that weekend so we just stayed awake and watch the fire all night look at this the campers upside down well who said that somebody wasn't listening we could do it all different ways huh okay so now now the other ones upside down this is going to be very interesting okay so now this is what we're gonna do we're gonna press the center seems okay let let Orion what we're pushing the center seems in toward the middle row the center seems go in toward the middle and then these two rows go away from the middle alright and I want you to look in your paper look in your pattern and it's just going to show you right on page eight beside number ten okay so now that's basically a nine patch and so it tells you on page number eight if you want to do a youth size quilt you're going to make three nine patches so three times nine is [Laughter] 3 times 9 is 27 Linda says okay so if you want to do a lap you make 4 9 catch and how many is that 4 times 9 is 36 so you can still do a lap out of one layer thick right okay so if you want to do a twin you do six nine patch and 6 times 9 is 54 can you get that out of one let gotta go into your second one huh okay so that's how it all goes so you've got you get to figure out what you need okay so thank you Teresa and I have a couple more and I wanted to get my 6 by 24 ruler ready this is really big yuria you're gonna have to clean your sewing room for this one yep you're gonna have to clear your table because it just really takes a lot of room so I like to do my ruler like this we have to measure let's see we have to measure the center oh it's - it's red on red it's really hard to see huh how about that you can see it okay so major the center and then actually you can see it up here too you can see it up here you want your Center to measure nine and a half inches and you can see this is nine and a half inches yes what's half of nine and a half four and three quarters four and three quarters nine and a half is four and three quarters it is honest if you have would you bring a calculator the next time so you guys can make sure you get get all the numbers right so I want to put my glow line tape in between 4 and 1/2 and 4 and 3/4 glow line tape is a quarter inch wide so quarter inch wide so I like to put my tape in between 4 and 1/2 and 4 and 3/4 and that's written there now if your Center is not nine and a half you are gonna have to get out your calculator and do some measuring because now I want to cut right through my very center and this glow line tape is at 4 and 3/4 and if you put it at 4 and 3/4 then you just shove it right up there it's like you make a ridge your seam makes a ridge and you can just bump your glow line tape in there ok so you have to do this you have to start cutting up and then you need to slide this along and continue cutting man this is long this is big see what I mean there's no way I could do this ok so now I have it cut once now all I want to do is just turn these and I'm not going to try to continue with that I'm just gonna move this over here line up the glow line tape on the ridge and cut again so now that's my new blocks oh it's cool okay so now we have to have Teresa come in okay watch this so we've got a lot of red in the corners right so I'm gonna put my glow line here I have tons of them to cut and now this is what Orion was saying see if that one now see this one is different see now our scent our square is on the left and it's right side up and now on this one the square is on the right okay so these would get to give her and like magic doo doo doo doo I know there's somebody like me to put him on the wall so these I did honestly in about 15 minutes this morning this is what I laid out on my bed and it was really fun so now we're gonna start placing these whoops this is kind of neat suppressed huh mm-hmm okay so I'm going to continue cutting okay so Teresa do you want to go to the design wall line it up let it it's okay so keep on cutting and if you keep on turning now we just have cut cut it into fourths and you see that on page 10 and page 10 and it shows you on page 11 I have enough I'm gonna have enough to make a youth by youth and what size is the youth how many it's it's boxed off a youth is three across and four down a youth is three across and four down and remember those two different rows that you lay out now this might be hard because she doesn't have them all so all right so she's she actually and you're actually doing it the way that quilt is is turned but you can you can end up doing it either way as long as you have it both so you put at the top right then you have to go and you have to put it on the top left right yes what at the center square does become your your stock square and all the other ones are squares or rectangles [Music] - you know what she's looking over that one which is the directional and too much red in my corner so I think she gives me another piece yes I've got this business I can and you're you're actually doing it different than the way the patterns written so it might be confusing for everybody what do you think should she make a like the pattern thank you okay all right - so let me let me finish cutting this and then I'm going to tell you okay let's think about this can we put in how it's supposed to go and then we'll look the directional I want you I want you to put your speaker's do it in the bottom right corner in the first row right here bottom right corner and is directional but they gonna tell me so let's do this yeah the other is the bottom right all right now change to the bottom left to the bottom left here here and leave space the bottom left beside it underneath it go down oh I see there we go okay oh okay and now we go how but I need right bottom what up is right here okay bottom right it works there's a bottom action of watching later here here here good bottom right bottom right right and now we need one bottom left bottom left look we could even do this one but there's lots of people going on but it's right right bottom right bottom left bottom right bottom left okay okay now this let's try to do to the top right that's good top right this is tough this is hard okay and now and we could do okay okay so that's not very common okay this one could go top top laughs there we go [Laughter] obviously with in rehearsal see if you have a yeah yeah but this is another conversation okay so that one will go whoops that one doesn't go there forget it no these one great but it's on that side sorry that's in matters that doesn't matter and then now is this very one and now the next thing that we have to deal with is to make sure that the brown is scattered throughout [Music] [Laughter] [Applause] I think I can't I can't I can't because these is directional I'm just looking at everything else where I am the moral of the story is don't bother with directional you've learned that don't buy anything with directional trust me those pictures are cute but just forget them oh well you know when you put them on your bed and you start turning them around we got something right these in direction these needs to solve this way but is I'm gonna have to pinks that's okay we only have an hour as they say we're like the Oscars oh we're going overtime though we're doing good I think we did it can we do it you can't have your cake and eat it too I know you need your cake have a vita' oh my goodness all right so now we get to turn the page beep turn the page so now you want to cut your lattice and it is it is so hard to reach up to the top row but anyhow your lattice is cut the same size as your block and you're gonna the smart thing once you figure this out would be the number everything what do you think I think it would be really good to number it too so anyhow get your rows numbered and I found out that it was just as easy to sew a row at a time as trying to do long assembly line rows because these are nice big long blocks and so I just did them one at a time one row at a time I took it off the wall and then sewed it together press the seam toward the lattice and then measure the rows measure the rows and you're going to cut your long lattice exactly the length of this row and I think this one I don't think you need to piece with this one what do you think I don't think you have to piece let's find out hmm so you've got these rows see look it's just it's just gonna it they're just gonna make it or not make it [Laughter] there's two ways that it could go okay but one thing I could see you can see right here right I was really trying to do it quickly but look what you get do you see how obvious it would be if you didn't line it up straight across room I did that on purpose because I thought you could really see that well but see how you really need to mark so that you get them all lined up from one lattice to the next and there is an illustration that shows you that on page thirteen thirteen when you are adding your lengthwise lattice your long lattice going across you want to make sure that you do a little marking I actually use my Hara marker it won't make a mark on my fabric but it'll make a crease and so if you just crease it and keep those lined up to sew them all together yes how are we doing you're liking it okay you're liking it that's good and so now what I want you to do is turn back to page four and five and we need these quilts now Teresa everything that we showed you is scrappy but this one is planned you ready it's planned you might see it John's going to help her hold it you're tall so that is basically only purples and greens with a background very pretty very pretty well I'm caught in the background as the brown so this is the one block that you're going to make there are five different purples in this five different purples and four of the background and you cut these up just exactly as I did with the other one and so it might be easier for you to work without you know all of those multiple colors in there and then there is also the green once again there are five different greens five different greens and then the four background and you cut it up the same as you did before and this is the look that you get and isn't it nice with that dark with the dark around and separating the lattice you notice the background is right in the middle always you don't never see one large spectrum and then when you do it you just do every other one green purple green purple okay good right green purple green purple good so do you have questions yes you would just take the outside this is how I do it measure the outside and divide it by 40 and that will tell you how many strips you need think of the width of the strip say you want a five inch strip then you multiply the number of strips by the width the width of your strip and that will tell you how much are did you need we decided kind of late that we wanted to put borders on our quilts but I think that the borders really help don't you think and some of them you can do it you can do that too and so it works really good and there you know there is there is one mistake on the yardage and we did correct your mistake already but for people that didn't get one corrected your lattice for your queen is really two and a half inches two and a half yards your lattice for your queen is marked at two and a half yards and it's on the back and it's in the front so we'll be correcting that so everybody knows yeah good idea so this is where we are right there two and a half yards for lattice for the Queen again back here Queen lattice its lattice and binding that is sin binding two and a half yards two and a half yards Carmy it's that one yes sir one it it was in the computer the one just jumped out and kicked the two away so it just happened you know how that all happens alright so yes sandy I don't think so we can find out we can find out we can still get glamping by the yard just if you get if we were going to carry glamping by the yard but that would that would be a lot of fun yeah and the little check and everything is really really cute all right another question yes um this one is a scrappy this one was the first one and take a guess what the center's color was anything black good that was black and I would say that this one was probably just a battery and one that was hot it's one two three four five six six across and six down so it's a nice big quilt and that would be how many you love them for would be 117 squares that's a lot 117 117 yeah that is really a lot so [Music] it's about to be run over by a big truck that's a good thing okay so Eric did we find the music Eric he's got the music cool we're gonna have some fun did you ask me all your questions okay put your stuff down okay when you were growing up how many of you had cake walks did you have a cake walk okay so we can act like kids again and we can have a cake walk all right so I'll come on dev it's just a little exercise it's okay fine you can sit in your chair but you won't win the cake okay so we have a cake we have a cake in our in our trailer open up the trailer door so when we start the music on can peek in the camper alright and when the music stops whoever is standing on them on the mark spot which we're not going to tell you they get the cake alright okay ready okay it's got to be loud Eric if we don't hear the music what we can't do it if we can stop freeze freeze freeze it's the big blue bird the winner okay do you want to go in and get the cake or oh you didn't have to I thought that can you see it I know that she's right you know the ones when you send them out to a long-arm Coulter they do a lot of quilting and they're stiffer and the kids like light quilting so they can snuggle in their quilts they're not so stiff you're absolutely right all right look how cool Marge very nice no lattice now was it hard to match the pieces in between the pieces the background pieces rooster huh a ones walking off one's walking off [Laughter] it was a order yeah that's really fun though that's very fun did you alternate between your yellow and your red let's go back and see so this makes it really simple in placement if you just do two colors and you just keep on alternating between the two that makes an easy decision huh very nice good job all right choice are you already getting fabric for the next one yes look at her backing how fun that is wow this is a Valentine's Day quilt gosh I'm proud of all you guys that looks great [Applause] so you did two of them all two
