him your whole heart at an early age being introduced to the gospel by his mother he gave his life to Jesus Christ at the age of sixteen a pivotal moment that changed the direction of his life forever along his Christian journey God favoured him with good leadership and the person of the late superintendent James Henry Turner senior who preached him out of his sin now being saved over 40 years and pastoring for 34 years Bishop Wooden is recognized as a leader in church growth and development starting his ministerial career in Kandor North Carolina Bishop Wooden founded and pastored the Lighthouse Church of God in Christ the Lord allowed him to build his first church there and after a few years God had another fire after the death of his pastor the late superintendent James Henry Turner senior Bishop Wooden was appointed to Pastor the Upper Room Church of God in Christ in Raleigh North Carolina he built the first Church of God in Christ sanctuary in Raleigh and in his 30 years of pastoring the church he has grown the congregation from the 300 members to over 3,000 today as a result he led the efforts to build the edifice we worship in today now headquarters of North Carolina's 3rd ecclesiastical jurisdiction in the course of his ministerial career bishop wouldn't have the opportunity to obtain a doctoral degree in theology as president and CEO of the Upper Room Church of God in Christ bishop wooden is one of the leading african-american employers in Raleigh he built the first duly accredited african-american owned Christian school in Wake County as the pastor of the Upper Room Church his outreach through the prison ministry local senior living facilities as well as college and university campuses have caused many to come to know Jesus Christ under of North Carolina's 3rd ecclesiastical jurisdiction and shortly thereafter on August 3rd 2017 he was unanimously voted in as jurisdictional prelate North California ecclesiastical jurisdiction Bishop Patrick woody has received one hundred percent congratulating in addition to being a bishop pastor and preacher one of Bishop Wooden's greatest joys in life is being a family man bishop wooden has been married to his one and only wife Pamela MacNeil wooden for 37 years who has faithfully served by his side together they have been blessed with two adult children Krystal and Patrick jr. a wonderful son-in-law elder John Aman Chico and three beautiful grandchildren John Patrick Pamela and John Jr Bishop Wooden has a love for music and an anointing to compose beautiful songs of worship
