good day to you everybody welcome welcome welcome second semester has started we get to kick us we get to kick off our second semester like that classes and this is so that you know our Bible focused life at class and our subject of study for this semester get ready is the history of Israel it's going to be great we're about to embark on an exciting journey through the Old Testament our subject of study for the next ten weeks just like I said it's a history of Israel you know scripture tells us to study to show ourselves approved second Timothy 2:15 so that we can present ourselves to the Lord we could be confident that we are rightly dividing the word of truth and that's what we're going to do we're gonna grow we're gonna gain a closer walk with God it's going to be awesome now what we will do I'm gonna kind of give you an overview and welcome and thank you so much for being a part of this we're going to be studying when I say the history of Israel what I mean is we're going to be studying God's chosen people Israel in the Old Testament it's chosen people in the Old Testament not so much a study of the place we call Israel today but the people that God set aside to bring his plan to pass that we would see revealed in the New Testament through Christ so the red line of Jesus Christ runs all throughout the Bible and we'll be able to discover that as we go along it's gonna be an awesome journey I'm excited about it we're going to learn and walk in as we study this the amazing love of God for us in the midst of our failing that's one of the things that we'll see we'll see his power revealed to us despite our obstacles and enemies and what the dynamics of relationship with God really mean what is he asking for what does he need from us and what are we asking from remember there is no New Testament without the old and there is no new covenant without the old and there is no second atom that saves us from all of our sins without the first atom that we will look at who showed us how much we need Jesus so as we studied the word together through this next ten weeks will become more like Christ that's our goal it's always our goal then we'll become more like Christ and gain confidence in being God's chosen people it's awesome John 15:16 says you have not chosen me but I have chosen you aren't you glad to be chosen of God he said you haven't chosen me but I have chosen you and I ordained you that you should go and bring forth fruit and that your fruit should remain and that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name he may give it you that's the confidence and boldness we had in being God's chosen people and that's what we will look at but we are spiritual Israel so I want you to make sure you put your name in the line of the pages of whatever we are studying as we go along amen so let's look more closely at what we'll be studying this semester though this will be similar is gonna be similar to an Old Testament what people would call an Old Testament survey an Old Testament service really will you study every book of the Old Testament and pull out major themes it's similar to it but this is more a survey of God's dealings with man and our dealings with him and with one another so this is a survey about people this is a survey about God's dealings with van and our dealings with God and with one another and we want to know more about the people God called Israel so that we can walk in the promises that God has given to us what's the objective of our stuff of our city in other words what are we going to learn my prayer is that you will gain an overview of the key events of the Old Testament you will become well versed in knowing how God worked through his people all throughout the Old Testament you'll feel real comfortable with that but then also another objective is that you will understand ankhor have an understanding of God's chosen people and understand the seed that he used these people like he can use us today he used these people to unfold his plan of redemption to everybody so he focused on a people but his purpose the whole time was that he would use his relationship with these people to spread it out to everybody else that's nothing different than what he does with us he saves you but then he calls you to go and get somebody else and so we'll be able to see how he did that and look at the Old Testament a lot of people want to separate the two but remember there is no New Testament without the old and so we'll see how it sets us up for the redemption that that we now experience now through Jesus Christ so those are the two objections of my study again the overview you'll get a real good overview of the Old Testament advance and you get an understanding of how God worked through his chosen people to bring his plan to pass what is the purpose of our study why are we doing this why are we studying this to understand the love that God has for us and his ongoing desire to be in relationship with us it's one of the purposes that we will understand a study of of God's chosen people will show that God loves us madly and constantly gives us another chance because he wants to have relationship with us wow that's awesome that should give you confidence and boldness today then even in the midst of your mess ups or hangups God will pick you up and fix you up that's good alright then another purpose why are we studying this to go specifically in what I was just saying that despite our mistakes shortcomings and downright transgressions we'll see that God always offers Redemption that's good yeah you you can't you can you can you can choose the sin but you can't choose the consequences but even in the midst of the consequences on the other side of that God always offers Redemption and we'll be able to see that clearly and in also that the person of Christ can be clearly seen in the Old Testament that we'll be able to point out how Christ is clearly seen in the Old Testament so those are our three purposes of the study of the why we do it what is our these are these are some overriding themes that I'll constantly bring up through the whole survey as we study through the next to two weeks the first one the first overriding theme that touches every lesson is relationship first overriding theme is relationship in other words God's relationship with us and how we respond God's desire for a relationship with us and how we respond so that's an overriding theme in every lesson is relationship God's relationship or desire for relationship with us and how we respond yes number one the first overriding thing second overriding theme is reconciliation so the first one is right relationship the second is reconciliation God's plan to free us from the estrangement of sin I pray that we'll be able to see that your sin separates sin separates us from God right but God always has a plan to bring us back that's good news somebody ought to get up and shake your foot off of that sin can separate you from God but God always has a plan to bring you back all right that's awesome so reconciliation is an overriding thing God's plan to free us from the estrangement of sin and his work to atone for our sins and restore relationship so he wants to bring us back but there are certain rules that have to go with that and so God does certain things to atone for our sins to restore us back to relationship all right anything number one relationship overriding theme number two is reconciliation overriding theme number three is Redemption overriding theme number three is Redemption which is God's plan to free us completely from the penalty of sin and make us into his people make us righteous so God doesn't just you know call us back and just say hey it's gonna be alright but no he does what he needs to do in order to completely free us from sin so that we can be in relationship with them be free from sin from the penalties of sin and be his righteous people that he can use and work through in order to get to bring his plan to pass all right anything number one relationship number two reconciliation number three Redemption all right back to the beginning to understand the people of Israel our first lesson we'll go back to the beginning so let's get started with our first lesson we're going back to the beginning what's the beginning Genesis chapter 1 verse 1 even the word Genesis means beginning or the start of a thing in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth all right so in order to understand Israel we got to go back and order to understand God's people we have to go back and go back to the origins of things and so that's what we will do we're gonna start in the book of Genesis for this our first lesson what do we know about Genesis Genesis is a part of the first five books of the Bible comprised of Genesis Exodus Leviticus and Deuteronomy they are collectively known by a bunch of different names the Hebrew name is the taurah or the law so in the Hebrew Bible would be the taurah or the law and they call it the large-- in Joshua chapter 1 verse 7 in the Old Testament you will see them called the book of the law now the books but the book of the law Joshua 8:30 for you have it on your outline for those of you who have one in 2420 and in second chronicles 17 9 refer to them as the book of the law and then in first Kings chapter 2 verse 3 is called the law of Moses that's important they're called the law of Moses now these writings are also called the Pentateuch or the Pentateuch whatever your pronunciation would be which comes from a Greek word meaning five volume these five books we talk about Genesis Exodus Leviticus and Deuteronomy Genesis Exodus Leviticus and Deuteronomy these books these writings there's five books they're really basically one book with on purpose divisions put between them for the sake of you know being able to see them clearly so that's why I call it the book of the law or the book of Moses because there's really one book and then divided it for our purposes I guess for our learning whatever to make it easier for us what's the authorship of this of these five books actually the authorship is anonymous it's not clearly stated like in other books it's clearly stated who wrote it like the Pauline epistles we know that Paul wrote it the book of James we know that James wrote it but these five books are not necessarily given a particular author what that means is is not written is that it's not written within it's not written clearly within the book who the authors are but for a long time it was commonly agreed that Moses was the single writer of all five books the people for a long time theologians and everybody especially when you see even in the New Testament or they call it the book of Moses people think that Moses wrote them all but recent theologians believe that the Pentateuch is and actually an anthology of writings with at least three traditions for writing based on different styles and content and you know why are you going through all of this it'll come you'll become important in our later study so let me just give me give me a moment with this so their content their style the way that they're written boasted not being a single writer also what they call post mosaic ax and other stuff were stuff that was written after Moses died Moses couldn't write anything after he died I mean it didn't make sense so you have stuff that's in the books that are relating to things that happen after Moses died and then you have what is called a mosaic ax which are passages that just don't make sense that he he wrote it like their third person and stuff like that and so that's why people continue to study to try to figure out who they who wrote the books all the writing was influenced by Moses definitely influenced by Moses and Moses probably ROK's some of it because you see if different verses where talks about Moses writing things down okay so not saying necessarily that he wrote the books but he wrote things down so it comes to reasons that's the reason that he wrote some of it certainly the New Testament writers thought so so they would always call it the book of Moses and consider them the only author but the school of thought or those who have studied recently modern theologians believe that it was written by three different traditions and I don't really have time it's not necessary to go through all of it for those of you who are like serious serious study years you can figure it out and you can go and study it but the e-text or the Elohim or Aloise texts that were probably written from 799 to 700 BC the J text this is another school of writing who are the yahwehís because that letter why is that letter J is actually why in Hebrew so Yahweh is text from 597 and all of this is BC remember we talked about before before the Common Era we would say before Christ but it's actually before the Common Era so so back 597 years back on the negative side of 0 okay and this is important because this is the period that Israel was exiled which we will talk about later on in our study how the kingdoms fell and they were taken away and put into exile so this is important the jtech so the Yahweh his text was written while they were in exile and then the ptex or the priestly tax from 597 to 586 was also doing it was doing specifically the Babylonian exile and I believe that Babylonian exile is will you hear the scripture how can we sing the Lord's song in a strange land so that refers back to why some of this stuff was written when it us why is that important again we will refer to it later because if you only believe that Moses wrote it all they get context for some things that will help you understand things so II text the J text and the ptex what's the purpose of the Pentateuch what's the purpose of the five books one of the primary purposes of the Pentateuch was to provide an account of the covenant that God had with the people of Israel the laws and instructions for them to live by and also by studying the penance that we learn the origin the purpose and the bearing of God's relationship with his chosen people that's one of the purposes of the penitent another purpose of the penitent we understand that the creation of the universe it helps us to understand that the creation of the universe the relationship of God to man the introduction of man's first sin against God and the fall of man from grace it helps us to see that clearly and it provides for us with genealogy of the tribes of Israel and stuff like that provides God's law to the nation of Israel the development of God's plan for his people and ultimately his plan for all mankind God's plan to save us all as we begin to study these five books now of course through our survey we will study other books as well but I'm trying to get you done get you to talk about what we're starting right here today each book also contains a separate narrative of God's relationship with Israel remember relationship reconciliation and redemption we want to be able to see that as we study everything okay so you ready let's get kicking Genesis chapter 1 verses 1 & 2 says in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth and the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep and the Spirit of God moved on the face of the waters so where do we start we start at the very beginning at God's creation at the very beginning for us and God's creation of the world that we live in God's creation of the universe and in your notes you will see it's called primordial history meaning the beginning the start of things we had all started okay so God starts us look at first at the fact that he created everything basically out of his words I would the egg thing out of nothing but no he created everything out of his words in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth and you will see and God said and then things began to be created alright let's look let's go back Genesis chapter 1 verse 2 and 3 and the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters verse 3 and God said and then everything began to be started days of creation days of creation and day one he created space light and time remember God is timeless he doesn't have to have time he doesn't live in time he created time for us so he reigns a space light and time verses three through five he said let there be light it was light and God saw the light that it was good and God divided the light from the darkness and God called the light day and the darkness he called night and the evening in the morning were the first day so he raised space he creates light and he creates time day two he creates the sky and he separated the waters above from the waters beneath or he creates the atmosphere verses six through eight and God said Let there be firm a permanent firmament in the midst of the waters and let it divide the waters from the waters and God made the firmament and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament and it was so and we we know it as the cycle of moisture that goes up and down this is what God created he created the sky separated the waters above from the waters beneath or created the atmosphere day three God creates dry ground and he creates the oceans and the Seas and bodies of waters and plants verses 9 through 13 and God said let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place and let the dry land appear and it was so and God called the dry land earth with the stuff that we step on and the gathering together of the waters called he seas and God saw that it was good and it goes on and on day four God creates the Sun the Moon the stars and planets and seasons God creates this done to star the moon the planet and seasons day five God creates the fish and the birds day six God creates land animals and he creates his greatest creation which is man and then on the seventh day God rested from his work on the seventh day God rested from his work understand God creates everything with purpose we see how God makes earthy into a home for man the way that he did it when you begin to look at the sequence of how he did it you can tell that he had us in mind this was not happenstance at all but he had us in mind Isaiah chapter 45 verse 18 I was a chapter 45 verse 18 it says for thus saith the Lord that created the heavens God Himself that formed the earth and made it he has established it he created it not in vain he formed it to be inhabited I am the Lord and there is none else it's pretty clear he didn't make it in vain in other words he had a purpose and a plan for how he made it so where do we see that where do we see that God must have had us in mind this is this feeds into relationship that God had us at mind when he built us this home that we call Earth or the universe that we live in and this planet that he gave us how do we see that creation day number one what do we need we need light we were not made to live in complete darkness we need light now someone eyes were weird all this light come from if the Sun and the moon were created I don't know answer to all of that maybe he was the light I don't know I can't I can't speak to that I don't even have a can sometimes we said could it be I don't even have it could it be on that I just know he made light so God created the heavens and the earth the heavens refer to everything beyond the earth or out of space say created out of space I look at it as when the Big Bang Theory happened if that's you know that's what we were looking at nobody was back there - no but it is claiming that there was a big bang there's science very much dancing if it was then it was when God God said let it be and then all of a sudden stuff exploded and it still you know it's still the universe is still expanding to this very day okay so God creates the heavens everything outer space everything that is above the earth and the earth is made but not formed in any specific way although water is present God then speaks light into existence he then separates the light from the dark and names the light day and the dark this creative work occurs from evening until morning okay on the first day that's what it says so we need light so God creates light for us okay and and begins to form some people say that this has something to do with a theory that goes back to something between chapter verse 1 and verse 2 I'm not completely sure about that I don't think that that's necessary to think that way as you read the text because the people said well God would never form anything that wasn't perfect well it doesn't start out perfect God makes it in something okay and God forms the earth and creates the heavens we need air day to we need air in order for us to breathe we got to add some air so God creates the sky in day to the sky forms a barrier between the water upon the surface and the moisture in the air we can't breathe water so God separates the waters above from the waters beneath so that we can have some kind of air in between so we see God on purpose making the earth a certain way to create us a home day three we need land and oceans to regulate the weather whitneyhl and we were not made to swim like fish just to stay in the water like that we need to come on some dry land so God creates dry land and then he makes the large bodies of waters now the importance of the large bodies of waters is that they regulate the weather so that creates land and he creates weather for us in that a blessing so you know everywhere is not it so that this the the the planet is hospitable to us erase man and he creates the weather for us God creates all the plant life both large and small he creates this life to be self-sustaining and understand when he creates the plant life and he creates you know trees and all those different types of things it becomes necessary for us because trees create oxygen so that it could sustain the air that we breathe so we see God does this on purpose creation day for then he puts the Sun up in the sky and the moon up in the sky okay why because we need heat we don't need this to be a frozen planet like Mars we need heat so he creates the Sun for us so that we would have heat and light like during the day and like during the night and also the moon regulates the tides got it creation date number five we needed ecology we need it we need it we needed life on this earth life in the seas to regulate the oceans and feed the animals we needed the birds to fertilize the land so that the plants and trees can grow so he brings the birds in so that they birds and insects birds eat insects so that that that that that that things can grow and they can prosper the birds nee incest to eat and the plants need insects to pollinate and grow and then when the birds eat the insects they fertilize the ground so that growth continues to happen day6 God creates all the creatures that live on dry land this includes every type of creature not included in the previous days and God declares the work good he does and what did Isaiah say again Isaiah said for thus saith the Lord that created the heavens God Himself that formed the earth and made it he hath established it he created it not in vain he created it with a purpose and for a reason he formed it to be inhabited I am the Lord and there is none else relationship God wanted us to have a home so he creates in sequence for us everything that we need then Genesis chapter 1 verse 26 and God said let us make man so all of this takes place then he puts us here lets us make man in our image after our likeness and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth so God made in his own image in the image of God God made man God created man in his own image and in the image of God created he him male and female created he them male and female created he them God makes man and man is made in the image of God men and women both bear His image and it's special above all the other creatures cuz he said stuff was good but then when he makes man he says very good and he gives us dominion over the fish of the sea the fowls of the air and over the cattle to emphasize this God places a man in authority over the earth and over all the creature God blesses us man and commands man to reproduce fill the earth and subdue it bring it on the right host stewardship of man as authorized by God is one of the reasons why it's so important for us to take care of what guy gave us God told us to have dominion over the earth he didn't tell us to fill the Seas with trash he didn't tell us to tear up the ozone or the atmosphere warming the planet up to the point where we can't live how would you like it if somebody took the time to build a house to specification for you to build a house to specification for you and you get in it and you don't care nothing about it and just tear it all the pieces to the point where you can't stay there anymore so that was never God's intent you see how purpose God gave us this place to live and so part I believe part of our Christian heritage is that we take care of everything that God gave us and so we need to work together together to do that God's creative work is complete at the end of 6 days according to the text and at the completion of his creation God announces that it is all very good and in creation day number 7 let's look at chapter 2 verses 1 through 3 and the heavens and the earth were finished and I'm in the King James and all the host of them and on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made and he rested on the seventh day for all his from all his works that he had made and God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created so God says that God rested on the seventh day this is no indication that somehow he was weary yes he set aside and denote for us that creation was complete and also I believe that there should be a time of celebration once you finish something yeah once you finished something you should take a moment and say man you see God doing it all through our creation he will make something easy that's good and he will go on and do some more something II would say that good he would take a moment of celebration and then at the end of it he would take a time of reflection and we've been taught que si si we know this that reflection is the key to wisdom right and so in order to gain wisdom we have to take a moment to reflect on things this is one of the things that we learn from God he created and did all of this and he did it for us and then on the seventh day what he taught us was you need to take some time for rest meaningful reflection you need to take some time for celebration you need to take some time for planning for your next move you have to take some time and so he creates for us what we call the Sabbath day alright let's get into something that people were considered to be controversial now we just read that God created the world this world for us on purpose and we could tell by relationship his relationship to us that he did it just for us by specification he gave us what we needed and he did it in such a sequence that once he brought us into the place that he wanted for us to be our home it was already ready for us we could breathe we had land we had food we had water we had oxygen we had all of these things God created this just for us so there is no doubt that God was the one that created this for us that God created the heavens and the earth but the question is did God create the whole universe in six literal 24-hour periods did God create the whole universe in six literal 24-hour periods okay first of all let's let's let's deal with let's talk about what we know for sure okay this is what we know for sure did God create the universe absolutely yes he did we know that God was the one who created this that's the most important thing that you need to know no matter how much time it took God was the one that created it okay Hebrews chapter one verse two hath in these last days spoken unto us by his son he was one to whom he hath appointed heir over all things by whom also he made the world's so in other words you remember in Genesis chapter 1 verse 26 he said God said let us make man in our own image we understand that there are three the bear record in heaven first John chapter five or seven then three of the bear record in heaven the father the word in the holy spirit and these three are one in that word the word is the word made flesh and dwelt among us is Christ so we are the picture of Christ all the way back here Genesis and Hebrews reverts back to it and says by whom by Jesus Christ God created the world so not just the earth but everything everything that you can see in a telescope and beyond God created at all so did God create the universe absolutely yes he did alright let's what else do we know for sure good God good God has made the universe in six days yes he could've made it in one day he God in one day so yeah could God have made it in six days absolutely he could because he's God Jeremiah chapter 32 verse 17 our Lord God behold thou has made the heavens in the earth by that great power and stretched our arm and there is nothing too hard for thee so could God help me if God could make a universe then he could make it a minute much time he needs to because again he doesn't reside in time God made time for us the construct of time that we have comes from the fact that he put a Sun and a moon together so we could have a 24-hour cycle as our Earth spins but God doesn't live in that so time doesn't really matter to him so if he could make it at all he can make it you know for however much time he needs to what else do we know though is it necessary to believe in six literal days in order to recognize and live in the power of God have I become sacrilegious or something like that or is this some kind of attack against my faith if if I don't just you know buckle down on no it had to be six 24-hour periods no remember those 24-hour periods he created for us so if God could make it in a day and God decided to make it in thousands of millions of years whatever it might be none of that really matters he created this place and he created it for us so I say that to go into what I'm about to say the original question was did he do it in six literal 24-hour days as we look at the authorship of the Pentateuch it gives us something to think about because you have to look at how the Bible was written why the Bible was written what type of literature what type of writing it is that you're looking at in order to truly understand this is this is the premise that I mean in order to know what something in the Bible means you need to know what it meant when it was written in order to know what was something in the Bible means you need to know what it meant when it was written because it cannot mean what it never meant so you got to go back and look at don't sound byte it but go back and look at who wrote it why did they write it and studying the book of Genesis and looking at who wrote it and why modern theologians believe that Genesis chapter one was written remember those writers that we were talking about I told you we were bringing back were written by the J or the P writers set of writers who wrote it through oral tradition around the time of the Exile where the Israelites had fallen into sin the sin they were judged Wow God allowing their enemies to come and conquer them the enemies took the best of them and put them into exile in their own land so they are away from Israel they are away from their own lands and now they're in exile in Babylonia or Persia Persia or Assyria or whatever those different exile they're away in exile so and we'll look at it later in a semester so look at this picture these the people of God are in exile they are away from their own land one of the that we understand we should understand that especially in America all around the world what happens when you are put in exile or when you are colonized or when you are invaded and another government or another people take over so so we understand that that happened this happened all over the world where you know the British did it in India the North Americans or the states did it too the Native Americans and you know different things spraying did it you know down in South America and what they do is they they began to replace your culture with theirs and what was happening is the the leaders began to understand that they were starting to lose some of the things that were central to their faith starting to lose some of the things that was central to their faith and so they began to write okay so as they write one of the things that they wanted to enforce or to to encourage is the Sabbath day there there that we that they would keep the Sabbath because even in the Katyn the Ten Commandments it says keepeth remember the Sabbath to keep it holy and but what what's happening is they're in exile and so the younger generation and generations that are coming up are starting to lose that so they begin the priestly writers or the J writers begin to write and theologians believe modern theologians believe they write Genesis chapter 1 not as a statement of chronology or a statement of time a definite time like look at this the universe was created in six days that wasn't the purpose for writing it it wasn't the reason why they wrote it the reason why they wrote it was to reinforce their faith to another generation and to show them why they kept the Saturday so that creates Thor the world in six days they tell the story and if you begin to look at it and study it the way that they look at it is actually written kind of almost like a like like prose like like a rhyme because we learn things by music and by rhyme and by poetry and so is written if you look at it from a Hebrew standpoint it's written in such a way that there's a rhythm to it and God and I did this and God did that and God said it was good so it's written in that way to make it easy for memory so they can remember and understand number one it was God who created this not those I said they're telling you that what are so great like Dagon and all those other ones no it was our God our God created the heavens and the earth and on the seventh day he rested to institute the Sabbath for us so that they would know take some time and focus on God take a day every week when your complete focus is on God take a time of reflection take a time of celebration and take a time of planning for your next move do that on the Sabbath day and that was the reason why they wrote it they wrote the Genesis to explain to a new generation why they kept the Sabbath again what do we know for sure God created all of this could he have done it in six days of course he's God if it didn't do it in six days does that diminish his power in any way no cuz he could have snapped his fingers and done it so it really doesn't matter whether or not there were dinosaurs it really doesn't matter whether the earth is you know six days old six thousand year have all these theories of 6,000 years old or billions of you none of that matters God's the one who did it and we're able to see that he created this place to be inhabited by us why he loved us and he wanted us to have a home so God built a home for us so it was not intended to be literal there's no conflict in the text with with what people believe you know cuz it wasn't even meant to address that this is not Genesis chapter one is not a scientific document it was just stated in such a way to help people understand God created the world and take a moment take a moment to remember God so what's important to know is that the world was made by divine and intelligent design the world was made by divine and intelligent design all right what do we what did we learn today what did we learn today well one of the key elements that we saw on the creation story his relationship his relationship that God wanted us to have a home and he built it just for us it's the same thing that he does for your for your life as well God is intentional about what he is doing in your life he wants relationship with us and so he puts us and he plans for us and he puts up the place that you're in right now just look around and see how God built it just for us to make you into the person that he wants you to be God wants to bless you and so you can look at his intent for how he does it all right that's one of the things that we see in the creation story I believe we did see reconciliation because we see the beginnings of God building a place for us so the we can with that that he can sew them and and you'll see this place that he built was a place of innocence and an innocence will fade unfortunately as we go on and I study and God begins to reconcile this and redemption God always has a plan for us that he he starts he starts from the end he sees the end from the beginning so with this creation story we see the guy already had a plan he put us in home but in hid in eternity past he already had a plan for if ever we fell he was always gonna bring us back amen amen amen all right so he wants to get stuff today we've learned some good stuff today and he's got some question that she gets the questions that I want you to ask yourself through this next two weeks as we get ready for our next lesson question Emma Warren what did you learn about God's care and his carefulness for us what did you learn about God's care and God's carefulness for us what did you learn about that all right what did you learn about the power of guys the question number two what did you learn about the power of guys so question number one what did you learn about God's care and God's carefulness for us and then what did you learn about the power of God all right I study through the next ten weeks it's gonna be awesome so today kind of gave an overview and an introduction of things and talked about creation the major theme for today was the care of God and the power of God the care of God and the power of God as we go into next week as we go into next week we begin to look at God's creation of the family of God creation of the family of God major themes will be innocence and grace so we look at Adam mankind he makes us puts us in this place sets up some divine so divine institutions that we begin to see as we run through our Genesis we look at the Fallen original sin but then we also will look at the Covenant that God cut with us next we will probably be looking at the world looking at Cain and Abel all the way to Noah I said from Cain to Noah major things will be depravity judgment but then also renewal depravity judgment also renewed we gonna be looking at a bunch of stuff we'll be looking at the patriarchs we'll be looking at the exodus the exodus is the central Eve it that defines the people of Israel Exodus the Exodus is true event that defines the people of Israel we'll be looking at that their journey through the wilderness judges and Kings prophets the United Kingdom the divided Kingdom will be looking at all of that them in exile and if we get a chance to semester we may look at something on a modern thing it kinda depends on how much time we have the Palestinian and Israeli conflict why is there's so much tension going on in that region and what does it speak to our future we get a chance to do that so there's gonna be awesome it'll be an awesome time of study I pray that you got something from this today remember your questions what did you learn about the care and carefulness of God for you for us and what did you learn about the power of God and think about that over the next two weeks so remember on the second and fourth Wednesdays we will come together and have our life outclasses Bible focus like that class history of Israel others of you you may know you may know if some family members or friends that are part of some of the other life out classes that we offer that'll be a seven o'clock tonight you don't want to miss it all right if you're giving today this is an awesome opportunity as we get started we have we don't even really talk that much about all the things that happen here but you know as we've been going through this Kovach crisis our church has been on the move would be busy being of help and of aid and a blessing to our community and if you want to be a part of that then you should so you should give so if you're giving your time today go ahead and do that if you're giving your offering you know what to do go ahead and give above that but if you just want to say hey I'm just gonna put ten dollars in the pot I believe God I think I'm seeing all those bags okay CC bags all over the city because I see that you all are taking the time to be a blessing to people all over our city in our county we got something awesome that's coming up I believe this weekend well a couple of trucks that are going different places you want to sow into that you want to sow into that so take the time and so in today amen all right well praise God we've had an awesome time today god
