so guys the Alberta PNP for Canadian PR has been going through a rough patch of late when they had declared about their pausing of the Alberta opportunity stream on Feb the 15th of 2024 and then recently in the opportunity uh stream itself Alberta slightly made changes in the employer requirements and also they displayed uh you know uh the requirements around the opportunity stream and the other streams including the rural renewal stream as well which is being used a lot of by a lot of students inside Canada so today's video is all about Alberta PNP Alberta Advantage immigrant Nomine program and we will also discuss the big change that was declared by uh the um the provincial government with regards to their nominee program guys please be sure to watch the video till the end my name is [Music] sahil so guys welcome back once again my my name is sah and I'm a regulated Canadian immigration consultant and I practice here in Ontario my office is here if you have to get in touch with me my number is on the screen and the details are there in the description box more than happy to speak with you before we proceed any further please make sure that you hit the Subscribe button and the bell icon because we talk a lot about Canadian immigration and if you are an aspirant of moving to Canada then this is a channel that you must be subscribed to all the time so guys we are talking about Alberta PNP guys overall uh whenever uh people come to Canada usually the province of Ontario or the province of British Columbia is supposedly their first choice of destination now this choice of destination is based not only by the demographics but it is also based on the fact that Ontario happens to have the most number of jobs but when you start looking at PR programs PR Pathways then people suddenly realize that Ontario may not be such a great choice or British Columbia may not be such a great choice just by virtue of uh looking at the federal programs of PR where people gener go to first and then they realize that if that is not happening PNP would be the second choice but if you look at Ontario PNP there are uh interventions of eui expression of interest and then points and draws and you know not so many knockouts being picked up then people start moving out usually then comes the first choice of moving to Edmonton or Calgary right now Edmonton and Calgary both happen to be in Alberta and by virtue of their programs Alberta PNP happens to to be a lucrative destination now uh if you look at Alberta PNP in specific it may not be a great choice for a lot of international students just because they may be in different streams and the fact that Alberta also has certain restrictions on the kind of open work permit they you know they have but overall Alberta is a great choice for people who have lmia based jobs or you know other open work permit holders like who are not International students but spouses of international students who then can move to Alberta and make use of their good um you know program features and the way they select their candidate it is you know usually uh draws and all are not that big of an issue and all that matters is that the person should have a job offer should meet the basic requirements and should be able to live in The Province now that brings us to the requirements a generic requirement that would be used by uh you know the Alberta immigrant Nomine program stream uh where people would have uh you know certain requirements like they should be working in an eligible uh occupation where Alberta says they have a list of um you know occupations which are which are not eligible for Alberta PNP so do check that out make sure that you're not falling in one of those KN codes um the other thing to look at would be a language requirement where people are usually required to have a minimum language requirement of say clb 4 or more this would definitely itely depend upon the kind of uh the stream that you're picking up for say an Alberta Advantage Tech pathway it could be higher while for other ones and including the knod it could be a bit lower then there are um you know education requirements as well where people are usually required to have um minimum of a high school whenever applying for you know the education streams and obviously uh this does not talk about the specific education streams um overall recently what um Alberta did is that they declared a big change in the employe requirement ments now just like all the other programs all the other PNP programs Alberta also has a has a set requirement of having a job offer from an eligible employer now whenever we talk about a job offer there are two aspects to it one who is making the job offer and the other one what exactly is the job offer right and then the third is whether you are eligible to take that job offer so they updated the who and what part of it where these important updates will be extremely extremely important for you to understand because the next time earlier it was not so stringent criteria people would generally have a new company set up in Alberta and that that was what created the human cry so after the success of rural renewal stream in the Alberta PNP people started opening businesses in Alberta and started giving job offers to folks inside Alberta right so that sparked the change and today with this big change coming up from the province of Alberta we are sitting at a massive uh you know issue of you know this eligibility of Alberta based employer so here you know without further Ado here are the changes that have been introduced with regards to the employer eligibility in Alberta PNP especially uh to the job offer requirements now first the employer should be incorporated as you know in Canada anywhere but the place of business should be set to Alberta so that's the first change um they should have completed minimum two fiscal years uh in you know uh while operation active operation in Alberta and fiscal years means U the years that they decare their taxes while they're in operation uh they should have a place of business where people can or employees can report to work in Alberta if required depending upon the business whether it's a remote job or whatever but and also it goes without saying that if you are working in the province then the uh the uh applicant or the employee should also be in Alberta uh the person should also have a valid work permit issued under the temporary foreign worker program or the IM pathway whatever it is the person should have a valid uh pathway the person uh the employer should have a minimum gross revenue of $400,000 so that's a big change earlier it was not declared like in Ontario you have other figures but in Alberta now it has changed to $400,000 of the most recent fiscal years and there should be minimum three uh full-time equalent employees in Alberta equalent means there could be two part times as well and you know they combined to make one full-time so three full-time or equivalent employees plus a revenue requirement of $400,000 Plus in operations for 2 years while the two years in operation is mandatory The Province says that the requirements of 400,000 or three full-time employees can be bypassed or can if the employer is not meeting can be met through other requirements for example uh they can be done by the number of people they support in a particular fiscal year so that is the requirement that they place if they're not meeting the revenue requirements they say in 2 years in operation they can support total one employee in 3 years they can support two and for every additional year of uh you know operations they can support one additional employee based on the number of years that they've been in operation guys overall these are the bigger changes of uh Alberta PNP that have been declared so like I said because people are not able to get pnps in all the bigger spaces I'm not talking about everybody but a major chunk of students and people who move to Canada then if you are looking for jobs in Alberta make sure that you are looking for the right employee not only that you should also have the right skill sets uh in order to take up that job offer and on top of that the employer should also be able to validate the requirement now suddenly out of the blue say uh a translation company requiring um you know a civil engineer would not be you know Justified but then you have to justify that with your business plans kind of expansions and what kind of projects you're up taking so please be prepared with that mindset so in a nutshell Alberta will not allow sudden out of the blue new employers to start nominating people there has to to be a chain of authenticity attached to it now and the province will do whatever it takes to verify all of that guys I hope the video today was helpful gave you much insights into what's happening in the world of Canadian immigration if you have anything personal to discuss with us please feel free to schedule a consultation and we would be more than happy to speak with you once again we wish you all the best and we really hope to see you soon in Canada all the [Music] best
