coverage and confidence Bill bunting the deputy director of the SPC Marissa talks about that we were wondering if the coverage would be there to meet this level five threshold and of course this morning we saw the spc's thinking it's there yeah they issued that level five right as we were coming on air and and the concern for multiple tornadoes out of the setup that we have which could be intense if not strong uh and dangerous uh the setup when you look at the negatively tilted trough this is something by the way that was pointed out days ago we've been having this Outlook and we've had our eye on Monday for several days even last week so that's the setup we're playing with that's going to enhance the wind shear that's going to enhance uh the instability that we have for these storms and you take a look at that spin aoft and you do have some of that moving over the Rockies which is a whole other Story by the way of snow and wind concerns coming out of Colorado but it's all linked together and this is ultimately the energy that will feed into that surface low that will eventually pop and help bring in and facilitate that severe weather risk I guess an honorable mention for the central Sierra snow for having their snowiest day um on Sunday 26 cold air is with this low I mean the the surface features that we're going to see really going to ramp up in the plains the warm front's going to lift North this low is going to deepen and any time we talk about a a negatively tilted trough just think of the atmosphere vertically and that really allows this thing to breathe the ventilation to occur and this surface low will only strengthen wind alerts up for that but this threat that we have the biggest risk that we have does include severe weather we've also seen an extension too we don't want to ignore over to St Louis today into the overnight hours Kansas City under that significant threat anything above a level three level three and above is a significant risk for severe weather and looking at the actual wording From The Storm Prediction Center when we look categorically at these just that level five threat they say in a specific City this is the type of environment or storms that could develop that you only see once or twice in a lifetime that drives home how rare this episode of severe weather could really be to tonight it it really does speak to the danger that we could see unfold later today and there's two times of the day um in different parts of the Outlook that we're looking at you talk about the available storm energy there's plenty of it that's going to continue to build especially in through this area here as we get further into the afternoon and into tonight um a little bit more of a cap further to the south over Texas a rather weak cap when you look over here so we're not too concerned about bursting through that uh D points are very high it's already started to go up Sly wind yeah I feel like it was in the upper 60s just an hour ago uh even OKC has gone up as well 70s just changed the game I mean that goes from what might be kind of muggy to a bit uncomfortable I mean the temperatures are rising too but even seeing Oklahoma City 67 degrees for a dueo it's it's getting muggy and will get muggier this is perhaps and Matthew blue has been highlighting this when you look at the potential the tornado parameter and what we have here among some of the highest values that you can get on a on an output or a parameter of our forecast models we see it in Oklahoma City and not just there but through a good chunk of the state [Music]
