Better Than Trimui Smart Pro?? Our Review of the Anbernic RGXX35 H

[Music] hello dead heads and welcome back to my channel oh welome welcome for the first time new dead heads so we've been taking this through its Paces we've been playing it and we are ready to do our review of this um new model from Amber bernick uh as you saw in our unboxing video this comes in a really nice case I hope going forward that uh am bernick will continue to use these little gold seals and things on the cases we just dropped in the community some information about Amber's next device the RG 556 and it looks like the leaked box has that nice premium touch so hopefully we'll be doing that there um as for this guy right here we're going to go over a little more gameplay footage and kind of talk about uh what it can achieve we know with the chipset in it the all winner that it what it can do we've seen the same software and chipset in the vertical version the plus but there's one little trick this guy has I think that will make it worth your time although overall I'm going to still say if you want to have something is cross range this guy right here is going to be a better buy um I do like this a lot it surprised me how much I like this the quality is is good Amber knet quality um that you usually have we need better custom firmware hopefully that'll come in the future but um let's jump in and let's take a look at um what I think is probably the um Ace up at sleeve here using this for your Tate gaming for your vertical um gaming experience this is going to be an excellent way that is pocketable um to play games using those vertical arcade games and and just getting that experience and shuing away so I think for that purpose this is great but for all other purposes it's a great device that is just in a crowded um model right now there are so many of these coming out I don't know if iono or am bernick or an erase to to release products um but you know of course more products means more attempts which means eventually we'll have all the things that we that um but really let's go on and look at some footage and we'll start with that vertical handheld footage and we'll be right back so I've taken the RG 35xx h through its paces and this is our review of this unit you did see us uh in the previous unboxing um reveal this unit and it did surprise me um now that I've had a chance to play through this and really use it um I really am still surprised by how much I like this that being said I don't know that this is actually the best choice for most people unless you are looking for an awesome pocketable vertical Tate style experience because this has been great for that um the fact that it's very pocketable and that it has just a really good experience with the vertical handhelds uh right off the bat and we'll just go into a little gameplay here and show you just makes this really um intriguing uh is what I'll say um it really surpris me um I haven't typically been in the past a huge proponent of playing vertically um but some of these games here um that they have pre-installed are are pretty fun and I didn't really know that I would actually uh enjoy playing something like this so um it's really kind of surprised me a bit um and here we go we'll just go into a little gameplay here and show this a little more um just just fun you know it looks great the screen looks great um you know you're not going to do this with a vertical handheld um with a square screen it's clear and uh yeah most of these games are are very similar in nature but yeah this is this is fun uh I like this um I didn't know that I would but it's kind of bringing back some memories from my childhood of experiences that I didn't expect and um really do enjoy this um I think for this experience alone this makes this unit U worth it uh perhaps I'm naive and I haven't had enough experience with this maybe there's something better out there and you guys can leave me uh in the comments um your your thoughts or let me know if there's something I'm missing out here but yeah this this is this is really cool um and so uh e easy to use here uh the software you know that it comes with is is easy to save um and change the uh the settings here um and so we we'll going into one more vertical game here now again this is in the built-in software the OS we need some custom firmware I did not yet try because I've read that it's not worth trying um I will update in the future when there is a better version of custom firmware for this this device um again which is the am bernick 35 um XX H horizontal um now you can uh go into the Retro Arc and still go into the vertical arcade games but the experience there is just not not the same it's not as good so I will say that um that I would I would stick to playing um with it through um the EXP expence that that they have built in here with their their Standalone um this is just just not really quite quite up to to the [Music] standards but here we go playing through retro Arc and of course you can do you know with retro Arc there are different abilities that you're not able to do with those standalones but these are really interesting uh games to to be played here vertically you stick this thing in your pocket it's got pretty good battery life and there's quite a few games here um that it comes loaded with and of course you can put your own SD card in there and load this up with even more ROMs um for it so yep um so let's uh let's pause here and uh take a break and we'll be right back all right so let's start with some PlayStation Portable um now to be honest this is not the best screen for PlayStation Portable so let's let's just admit that right there um that being said yes this can run just like it's sibling the uh plus run some PlayStation Portable uh this is pretty much the same as we had in our um testing for the plus um but again at the price point this is coming in at I think if you want a PSP style at this price that is better the trim UI smart Pro uh which we have right here um right here is is going to bring a better um PSP experience um overall uh at a very similar price point now this is more pocketable of course but I just I think that overall you know this this is going to be a better buy um in a minute we'll do some footage of some vertical gameplay which this I think excels at and it's probably the best reason to have this um now but again uh I'm going to say overall this is probably a better buy uh both of them have soft Ware that is not great the the community I hope will continue to support both of these and bring us better custom firmware but let's just dive into a little bit of God of War here just to uh show you guys kind of how it plays here on this this uh this model here and again this is God of War playing um on the uh Playstation Portable ppsp and we'll turn it up a little bit here so you ask can here Ash of spart pledged himself as a champion to God's in return he hoped only to rid himself of the nightmares that there's a Lun big opening scene here so I'm going to just skip forward to this and get right to the game all right and let's see here uh this is running um just so you guys know let's go to the settings here oops hit hit the wrong button this is at a 2X uh with the open G there's no Vulcan support here so um this is running at 2X and you can see that it's it's playing but it's it's just not now this is the all- winner uh H700 chipset so yeah it's it's going to play um but it's it's not going to be a great experience now even even turning it down to uh 1X uh or native resolution native PSP resolution here um isn't isn't really going to uh improve it a whole lot um I think it actually looks kind of pixelated like that but you can see here that it is you know playable again you're going to have I think a better experience on the trim UI um I do believe the chip set in the trim UI is um just a tad bit Superior to this and it does have on the trim UI the ability to use that function button and give it a little bit of speed boost but yeah it's playing the game you know no no problem there so let's try some more PSP we'll be right back all right so let's take a look at some PlayStation performance on this and see how it does uh one of the best games ever released on the PlayStation that many people agree the Symphony of the Night uh which is a favorite of mine how so we got it going on here and let's just get going so this is using um the Standalone it doesn't really tell me which it's using but this looks pretty good uh runs well um such a fun game I mean this is just really good I love Castlevania in general but this one right here you know just those moves right there I remember playing those on the original PlayStation and it's amazing that this looks as good as it does now of course you do have some settings you can change the video display effect here um and change it to different things to get a different sort of um let's do the HD here although I think the fast looks the best but of course you know you might want to go with some scan lines that darkens it a little bit and gives it more more of an authentic CRT look to it and of course you can save the game uh CD control your bios and everything like that your backl kind of get it a little dark going on here so let's make it a little you know if you want that little Darkness but of course I think it looks best with that that brightness uh for it so again it's going to play your PlayStation games fine you're not going to have any problem playing those um with this chip it's going to play it really good and we'll be right back all right how about some Game Boy Advance let's take a look at this playing everybody's favorite and this is using the Standalone emulator just what I needed we all know how retro ARS works and all the cores and everything so I kind of wanted to focus this on what amber Nick has kind of built in here into their uh system just so you can plug and play for any of you who are not real used to it um it does have if you want to use the sticks there so it does have that ready to go and it looks pretty good um just as with the other Standalone there whoops you can go in and you can change the aspect ratio you can change it do Matrix that has a nice little look to it right there if you want to have just zoom in a bit here if you want to have that old school look for the CRT and the dot matrix and yeah just looks really cool plays good we know Amber Nick's track record here um got a little Luigi uh we recently did the analog pocket and yeah that's still a much better experience at you know much higher price of course um but yeah playing the game boy on this is is pretty enjoyable um with this software and so um let's wrap this up and uh in this video and just do a final thoughts and overview and we'll be right back all right so dead heads as we take a look here at a custom shell um that somebody has swapped out on their uh unit here here uh I will leave a link in the description where you can purchase this for do it yourself if you'd like to uh change out this the shell and make it different colors what do we ultimately think of this unit well we think that it is worthy of your buy if you have to choose or if you're going to choose between this or the plus this is the better model um again I highly recommend this as something that is very enjoyable able to use if you are wanting to experience like I did for the first time vertical arcade greatness and please guys leave me a comment if I'm missing out and there's another model that is similar and pocketable that maybe outperforms this um but really like it the software is set up just plug andplay so I really appreciate that overall I think that we're in a very crowded market and then this had been released a year ago it probably would have swept up many awards and sold in the dozens of thousands so anyways um I'll leave a link to where you can purchase this again thank you
