for the time of trial he shall hide me in his pavilion in the secret of his Tabernacle shall he hiding he shall set me and now shall my head be lifted up roundabout for sacrifices of joy I will sing yay I will sing praises unto the Lord O Lord when I cry with my voice also upon me and answer me when doe says Sikhi my face my heart set on to thee thy face Lord what I seek I not put not that servant give me not either forsake me O God of my salvation when my father and my mother forsake me then the Lord will save me teach me thy way lead me in a plain path never me not over until performance witnesses are reasonable games me and such has breed of cruelty I had fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord be of good courage I had failed it unless I had believed the see not see to believe but bless God we believe to see so the psalmist says I had fainted unless I had believed to see now science says that you you believe the evidence that you see but faith says believe first and you will see the manifestation of your belief I failed it unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord how many know that we serve a good god we serve a great God we you or remind you again that this month we give special acknowledgment our seniors they are a very very important part of our church community and today is our senior service so we just want to pray a special prayer for them as we worship together in the Lord amen if they're a senior sitting beside you if you see a senior person sitting beside you just give them a beautiful smile and say god bless you god bless you god bless you amen we love our seniors praise the Lord and to my mother I know she doesn't look it but she is a senior so we acknowledge your mom I give God thanks for you every day praise the Lord I also saw mother Hilton early I'm not sure if she's right now in the front we praise the Lord from mother Hilton this morning as well come on let's give them a boot on his foot and courage or brethren in the Lord praise the Lord and we also have sister Anat Hepburn Thomas returning from vacation with her daughter I see crystally oh I think sister I need to somewhere around you want to thank God there she is want to thank God for journey mercies and for bringing them back safely to us praise the Lord so this morning we have some visitors and we want to also give you a warm bath and welcome they were invited by sister Daphne more andum oh this is birthday greetings the sister army Hills she's celebrating her 78th birthday today she had to leave early but we still want to praise the Lord for her so the next time you see her please wish her a very happy birthday are there any other visitors whose name I didn't call anyone else who's visiting today for the first happy seniors are you happy to be we are the Lord to know where the Lord has taken us from unto where we are up right now my god I feel blessed I don't know about you but I'm feeling we're blessed today praise the Lord Jesus he's been good to us praise the Lord right at this time praise the Lord missionary Marlene Hines praise the Lord we welcome her to the podium right now praise the Lord in Jesus name shallow wrestler everybody attributes to our seniors this fiftieth year is sacred it is a time of freedom and of celebration when everyone will receive back their original property and all will return home to their family Leviticus 25 verse 10 wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses let us render therefore to all their dues tribute to whom tribute is due custom to whom custom fear to whom fear and honor to whom honor is due today we take time out to celebrate an incredibly valuable asset that we have in the kingdom of God and that is you or seniors our seniors have laid a solid foundation of wisdom stability and strength that's if the younger generation would open their eyes they will learn from these examples that are before them and will be able to live a life full of honor fill with no regrets and giving god to God and giving glory to God when work needs to be done the seniors are always there when projects need to be funded you can count on our seniors to contribute when the doors of the church are open the seniors will always be found there you the seniors are the pillars of the house of God upholding the holy standard you senior men and women of the church know God intimately because many of you have been walking with him for decades you are seniors every inch of the throne room of God because you have spent time in the face of God you know and understand that the altar is not just a place for flower displays but the place for people to come and travail before God you have the experience with God to know that the prayers may not be answered in the first 30 seconds and have the endurance to wait upon the Lord until he answers you possess the patient to stand still until you see the salvation of the Lord to our cena's the scripture is totally true when it says God word is the light unto my feet and a light unto my path you know the Word of God all we have to do is look at your Bibles to know that they've been read over and over again our age Warriors have incredible wisdom about life both natural and spiritual they have lived 60 70 80 plus years and the church will tap into the decades of wisdom and experience you have to offer Sam's 92 verse 12 says the righteous shall flourish like a palm tree he shall grow like the cedar in Lebanon the palm tree is known for the long lines and its ability to stand even in the storm the cedar of Lebanon are known to be solid strong and immovable you have shown that he is peace that passeth all understanding he is where maker when there was no way to be made he is the joy and the strength of our lives he is a friend that will never leave you or forsake you he is your shelter in the time of storms and he is your strength when you are weak and worn he is a keeper of those that want to be kicked our precious seniors God is not through with you yet you are in a wonderful season of your life where God can use you to be blessing to many you have lived grained wisdom and overcome the enemy congratulations continue doing the great work of the god of God on his corner sinners of Bethel United Church of Jesus Christ apostolic South Camp Road others are reaping the harvest of the seeds you planted may God continue to bless you and heaven smile upon him praise the Lord everybody let's praise the Lord everybody praise the Lord earlier when missionary Monique asked us to look at our neighbor and just to check if there a Cena and say God bless you I noticed some persons are say no so since we have you know been deliberating who constitutes a senior I have been told by brother Joseph that if you are 60 and over that's all right we call them recycled youth right and that is fine it's fine that you're still young and we're happy that you're still young which is why you're still working for the Lord amen however I'm kindly asking you once you are 60 and over to stand let us acknowledge you officially in the senior citizens month Bethel take a look to your right up down and look at the star wars who have blazed the trail and cause us to be standing a 20-cent camp road on this day put your hands together for them hallelujah hallelujah we line amen praise God praise God so as it's customary we we choose three seniors knowledge or two especially honor and today we have the first person who is sister Joycelyn arms me however her daughter sister Simone writes will be collecting the award on her behalf and I will be asking sir pastor Lewis kindly hand the awards out as soon as these citations are through sister Joycelyn Ormsby AKA alice has been a member of the social outreach department since 2010 and loves to cook she takes much pleasure in feeding the residence at cluster a of the golden age home at st. Joseph's Avenue with a bowl of soup on Saturdays she has not limited herself to knowing the individuals from cluster a only but also serve soup to the residents within the McIntyre Villa area as well the relationship that sister Alice has developed with the individuals she serves allowed her to know their likes and their dislikes when distributing or serving them the soup for those who need to be spoon-fed sister Alice would administer same in her own gentle way sister orange Lee also feeds the homeless on the streets of Franklin tone McIntyre Villa and North streets she often times travels to old Harbor on Saturdays just to ensure that the soup shared in the usual containers and is ready to be transported to the cluster after finishing this distribution she would ensure that the pot is properly washed sister Armsby when called upon to do chores for shut-ins ask no question and only requests what time should she be available ladies and gentlemen brothers and sisters let's put our hands together for sister Joycelyn on the praise name of Jesus [Applause] another round of applause [Applause] amen amen missionary Carmen Rosetta Davis missionary Carmen Rosetta David affectionately called Rose or brother Mullins would say Rosie migrated to Kingston from Montego Bay she was a staunch member of a Trinitarian Church after constant nagging about oneness my brother Patrick Davis missionary Rose David said to mr. Patrick Davis yes got on with your Jesus but it was then that she thought but I feel me to use us too this was when she realized that something was missing in her life and began to seek God one day Patrick Davis ran to her house and told her how he was to be engaged to someone in his church but the Lord said no and while he was being rebuked for pursuing it he saw missionary rose Davis's face and the Lord confirmed to her and the Lord confirmed her to be his wife missionary Rose Davis smiled and said to him the Lord spoke to me in a dream that he would be my husband praising him of Jesus missionary Rose Davis got saved at Bethel in 1976 and got married to the annoying Patrick Davis in 1977 the Union produced two children Damien and Petrine missionary Rose Davis was destined for greatness in the Apostolic Church she became a missionary in 1979 and began teaching Sunday school from 1981 to present she is known to her new converts as a tower of strength sharing her life stories of her struggles and how the Lord delivered her out of them giving hope to the newborn babes missionary Rose Dave can be seen every Sunday offering gifts of cash or kind to the less fortunate and widows of the church out of her little she always has something for people and she knows what it is to suffer often known as a peacemaker if anyone had an oughta get her or if she has one she would be the first to make the approach though her efforts to make peace have been shunned by some it does not deter her from continuing the process known as a victim she is described by her daughter as a woman who prays oftentimes seen locked up in her room crying out before God on one occasion her daughter Petrine at the age of three heard her crying out before Jesus and ran to her brother and said Mamie on Mamie on run come quick Jesus Christ beat mummy of course this utterance brought the concentration of missionary Rose Davis and she burst out in laughter a woman of her a woman of strength an example a role model a silent warrior a great mother wife confidence are just some of the many adjectives ascribed to her her aim is to see Christ and to and and has led many to find hope not in this world but to look to Jesus for his appearing and a better life on that day cheers to a great woman of God brothers and sisters missionary Carmen Rosa songs David [Applause] [Applause] Minister basil Roy Phillips Minister buzzer Roy Phillips became a member of the Bethel United Church of Jesus Christ apostolate in 1974 and unassuming but passionate young Christian minister Phillips was eager to serve the Lord the choir was one of his first ministries where he served for over ten years he also served in the sunday-school department both at the main sanctuary and in hasta shun Sunday school yet these were not enough for him to do the work of the Lord and so he threw himself into other ministry endeavors he was like an energizer bunny he keeps going and going and going who can forget brother basil as he was affectionately called serving the sky juice and snow cones after Sunday night services yes those powerful Sunday evening services where we sang danced and worshiped until 11 p.m. and were left sweating hot and thirsty we were always grateful to see Minister Phillips at service as we knew afterwards we could read the refreshment area to purchase a Sky juice it didn't matter if only one person needed service Minister Phillips would still go through the painstaking task of opening up the pantry to pull out all the ingredients and utensils to prepare the one sky juice he exemplified patience diligence and devotion a true servant of God and so having served Jesus faithfully the Lord granted his servant favor by bringing into his life a beautiful help meet Valerie Killeen Brown the two met and fell in love and were married on February 2 1918 their union was blessed with their only child a precious baby girl whom they named Cal Vita he continued to grow in the Lord and was soon ordained an evangelist this divine appointment brought him across the length and breadth of the island preaching the Word of God and teaching to the needs of the saints in various churches and old station works he was always ready to respond to the call of his former pastor bishop ira d thompson to go to the region and beyond he and former pastor bishop he and his partner in ministry evangelist danny Laird became infamous for their missions to the rural out station on churches from 2nd Sunday to the last Sunday of each month this silent giant is also an ardent work worker during convocation assisting with venue preparation and management of the talk shop today we pay tribute to this powerful man of God brothers and sisters minister basil Roy Phyllis [Applause] [Applause] praise the Lord Jesus only what we do for God we laugh so keep on working Cena's my god it pays to serve Jesus as our pastor reminded us it pays to serve Jesus I speak from my celebrate with our seniors during the month of September we are just so happy amen for all our seniors and for the contribution that you have made to this church amen for those of us who are not seniors yet don't be jealous it's only a matter of time before we get there but this month we really want to celebrate our seniors and to let them feel very very special and we know that God is doing a great work in our seniors Amen sister Maggie she said that there is much more that they have to offer than Caleb and Joshua were in their eighties when they said give me this mountain so there is much more that the Lord has in store for us praise the Lord praise the Lord so on Thursday that's this Thursday the 12th there will be a continuation of our special activities who are seniors and so on the 12th of September that's Thursday evening right here at 20:00 Seoul Camp Road will be a presentation on nutrition for seniors on that's Thursday September 12 so I'm gonna acts again although seniors to be out on Thursday for this very very special praise god presentation and you would be aware that there are several other things planned including a health fair or clinic for seniors and so we ask that you participate in all the activities that we have for our seniors last week was really a blessed week and we thank God for the blessings of the past week and we look forward to the events coming up this week and what it is that we have to accomplish for the Lord thanks to those who came out to support the Scott's family yesterday we had the funeral home going service of Allah Delroy Scott here amen and it was really really truly a blessed service even we continued to pray for missionary marine scott and the children amen the rest of the family as they continue to process the lost of a loved one amen but we thank God for those who came out to support the funeral service next week sunday is the modern district ladies fellowship it comes up on Sunday and it begins at 10:00 a.m. at the temple oil assembly that's in another district and so we want to have a delegation from South Camp Road going to that service on Sunday meal will be provided a meal will be provided a cost of 400 dollars and so you're asked to speak with missionary Grace and McDonald amen we want to have a strong delegation please to that special Northern District ladies fellowship service that comes up next week Sunday at 10:00 a.m. amen so please please give your names to missionary Grace and McDonald amen today immediately after service please let her know Amen so that we can get some confirmation as to the numbers Amen for that very very special service we still have tickets for our anniversary banquet that comes up on Saturday December 14 that's Saturday December 14 2019 and this is our fiftieth anniversary banquet we have been talking about it for some time amen if you have not yet collected your banquet tickets associate pastor hilton is here today and sister Joan car is here the cost of the ticket is several thousand dollars amen which is very reasonable in regards to banquets amen but we did say that part of the reason why we have the tickets out so early is because if you do not have the money all at once you can pay on a monthly basis or a weekly basis until you have covered the cars amen so please make sure that by the end of the service amen you collect your banquet tickets amen you don't want to miss the anniversary banquet amen it's a part of our 50th anniversary celebration and you do not want to miss that banquet also coming up on the end of this month will be our entrepreneurs day and today is the final day for you to register your business with the team sisters tenets and what Joseph is available after service with those who would want if you have a business and you want to participate in our entrepreneurs day please immediately after service you can see sister Stennett where is his destiny she's all right she's here sustained it is here and by remember the special date what date is that special date October 1 Saturday October 26 and we did see that it's Abraham's journey for Abraham went oh not knowing but you know he believed God he trust times we are not very patient so I want to talk to us about being committed to patients being committed to Wheaton there are times we are not so committed to Wheaton and God but we are committed to we open a visa committed to weed have you ever have you ever thought about being committed about something committed towards your family committed towards your work being committed towards helping others but have you thought about being committed to the patient with an expectation these are the reason why the Lord gave me this and I know you are here a person will need this it's because we have come to a season where impatiens see rains it's a fast food season that we're in we wanted fast and quick and if I don't get it when I want it then there is trouble but the Lord want me to speak to his children this morning and those of you are not yet baptized you can be a child of God today that you have to know become a user word committed first committed to be patient to be patient with your own self your times we are not too patient with ourselves your times when we try to be patient but we break it with our own attitude God says to us in this word of Isaiah 40 and verse 31 but they that wait upon the Lord what is really saying that he that has patience in the Lord with expectation something is going to happen it doesn't make sense I have patience without expectation it took the useless to stand in a line to go to the ATM machine to draw some money very long line and you don't think money is in the machine it would be stupid waste of time it would be wrong to really really try to patient and wait for something that you know there is nothing here and can I tell you this church this is what the world wants to do with the mentality of every one of us to wait patiently and the wrong thing the wrong reward some people say I'm waiting to buy a house before I give God my life some people say they're waiting to be married before I give the Lord my life some people have been waiting for something for more than 50 years before they serve God and they still haven't gotten it but today I want to empower someone to understand what God really desire in this time and season when it looks like the world is stumbling upon us and everything is getting away from us good jobs good cars a good woman good man everything getting away and you just can't wait yes the world has become more competitive but I want to encourage somebody this morning that let patience of her perfect work that ye may be perfect and and what nothing let patience I'm not talking to somebody I'm going very easy because I think I need is myself let patients ever perfect in other word what God is saying to us to his word is that this is divine this is divine and if it's divine from Jesus Christ it's true and if it's true it means it can work and if it can work it means it gonna work among us in over mids individually and collectively and if it works individually and collectively then it's me that it is supernatural it comes from God let patient ever perfect work we know about Abraham the story of Abraham God called him at about the age of 75 and I'm showing you patience the power of patience the integrity of being patient and the dignity of working in patience and this man God says come out from where you are leave mummy and daddy leave family leave all what you have and I am gonna give you what you never thought offer it was about 75 when you read the scripture looking at it this morning I said but this man took nearly 25 years to bring forth the promise nearly and undred years old I said God this man must be packed with patience can I talk to somebody here today don't make worry wo RR Y becomes your God anymore don't make worry take you over so much that you forget that there was job there was Joe who the Bible said even job mention it that even skin worm was eating up his flesh but he was patiently waiting on God are you hearing me you might not have what you says was self-control temperance I always wonder why God divinely release words like these but then I realize when I looked at it that look here above everything that you need you need to have temperance we need to have self-control I said God why should I have these things and this thing when sometimes I really can't wait but when you look at it you see weird at times when you've got to cheer down a barrier of impatiens see impatience impatience make you sometime costs when you're supposed to cuss impatience if the patient's make you cuss on your husband and your wife impatient see cars divorce separation impatience because - you know scale which you can't mean out the pain for you we can't deal with you but I'm here to tell somebody that God is about to break down your own
