[Music] hey Alex Mallin here your friend in furniture sales so the question of the days what is the best way to greet a customer and close the deal every single time there will always be a lot of people that will agree and disagree on different ways to greet a customer a may I make a connection to the point that you can actually gain people's trust and actually close the deal well I can only talk about my own personal experience my old professional experience in the business and what I can tell you is that every single time that I would read a customer my job my understanding was that I had to provide a great show so people would actually like me and do business with me right so I had to understand that all the time that my job was actually the entertainment and for that reason I had to be unique I had to be unique compared to everyone else on the street compared to all the salespeople the customers I may have seen before they got to my store right so that being said by me understanding that I had to be the entertainment I had to be unique I had to be unique on the way that I presented myself all the time I had to be unique on the way that I greeted customers right so while everyone else was saying hello welcome into the store how can I help you I was doing totally the opposite I was saying welcome into a store I'm so happy you came in today how much money do you want to spend today I will be doing crazy things like why are y'all buying today I'm so happy to see you right so I've always tried to be different and put in a good show so customers would actually like me I had to understand that from the get-go my job was actually to establish that connection to establish that rapport be able to engage with the customers and I know that all of it all starts when you greet a customer so for that reason I have to always be unique on the way that I greet my customers right I had to keep my level of energy up I have to be excited I had to be that friendly face that a customer wants to see I had to be the grandson that the grandma never had I had to be the son that the mom never had right to the point that you want to be unique at all the times to the point that I had to be unique and be able to get my customers see a different person when they saw me right so all the way from the get-go I was always unique I was always different on the greeting I was the one with a lot of energy I was the one that was so happy to see the customers into the store I was so happy they came into a store right so that's what you want to do I can't agree or disagree or many different ways to greet a customer I can tell you the best way to greet a customer is this but what I can tell you is for many many years what has worked for me is actually to be able to understand that my job as a salesperson is to be the entertainer to be able to be different on the way that I greet customers putting a great show to the point that they trust me and they pay for my product
